When I was going to New York for a week with my two teenage grandchildren, I wanted to give them the feeling of being a real New York citizen. I usually book my hotels through Booking and found this gem among the expensive hotels. The guys dropped the blanket for the pictures of the apartment with the old brick walls and we booked it for profit and loss. The exterior shows an old house from the pre-war era, with a regular staircase. The location is perfect, close to everything. Times Square is a few minutes' walk away. The subway stations for the yellow and orange lines are a few blocks away. The apartment was beyond all expectations. A small kitchenette with everything you need for a self-catering if you want to cook the food yourself. We bought ready meals from the deli Briant Market which was in street level below us. We had a bedroom and a large bathroom with shower. In the combined living room there was a sofa bed where the boys slept. The wooden floor was charming with a slightly creaky. It was clean and fresh everywhere. Erika, the manager, was nice to deal with. We never had to meet because everything was so well organized, with code lock when we arrived late at night, and contact information for her if we needed help. Would really recommend staying here …

Ideal location for a successful holiday.

I pulled up hotels dot com to see what I could get for a last minute visit to NYC. Everything was in the $250 range and way out of my budget. I scrolled down and saw TEN15 NYC 'boutique Apartment' for $149. I was VERY hesitant to book it having never seen anything like it. After reading reviews and checking out the location safety with some locals I decided to roll the dice and book it. OMG! I'm so glad I did! From the outside it looks like a market next to a nail salon-ty…pical NYC store fronts. You enter under a big sign that says NAILS. There is no identifying sign for a hotel. Through the main door you find a narrow hallway with a big mirror and metal staircase. You enter a code that was emailed when you booked the room and the door to the stairs unlocks. Be prepared to climb three flights of narrow stairs. We brought one small backpack for an overnight so no luggage to lug. Check in was at 3pm but we arrived at grand central at noon-which was about a 15 minute walk-and TEN15 was kind enough to let us drop our bag off before check in. Once you make it up the stairs you enter a second code for your apartment door. We were in 4R. The maid was still changing sheets and cleaning when we arrived to drop our bag and she was very friendly. Let me just say the apartment was absolutely adorable! Pretty brick walls, updated kitchen and bath, one bedroom. It felt like we were real New Yorkers! The Tv is huge and worked great. The air conditioner worked well too.

The place was amazing. It felt like you're living in a New York apartment. It's very close to Bryant park, wholefoods supermarket, the MTA subway and a variety of restaurants. Beside it is a 24 hour deli store. I will definitely book here again when I visit NYC. Besides the place the person in charge Erika was very friendly, helpful and responsive.

Terrible experience. The owner listed the unit as non smoking, and it smelled like an ashtray. The owner also uses the unit as a storage facility for her cleaning supplies (not disclosed ANYWHERE on rental agreement). The unit owner had a large, tacky padlock on closet doors inside the unit for her cleaning supply storage. She also charges top hotel rates and expects the renter to accept this. We also encountered insect problems with mosquitos and fruit flies. We had to initiate a dispute with our credit card company to seek a refund for 3 days, since we checked out after first night because of these issues, but she refused to refund unused days. Beware!

Comfortable and clean and very secure. Perfect for couples and small families and the shower room is huge loved staying there. Would love to go and stay there again.

Thanks Erika and Goura for providing such an amazing apartment in the heart of mid-town. The apartment was the perfect place to call home for the few days we were in NYC. Very clean and roomy for a Manhattan apartment. The four of us had plenty of room to spread out without tripping over one a other. Goura was very delightful and informative upon our arrival, making sure everything in the apartment was perfect; and made us feel right at home. We will certainly be reaching out to Erika and Goura when we plan our next NYC trip.
