Everything; I don’t recommend the hole in the closet ceiling, the dirty ragged carpets, the chipped glass sink, the ripped chair, the cracked tub, the badly patched roof after a leak, the stains, the hole in the wall, the tragic state of the hotel! This hotel used to be a hot spot, now it just has spots! No bar, no restaurant, no room service, no
Mini bar…not even a bottle of water in the room. Comfort Inn provides water in the room! This was a tragic stay made worse by the fact that it ruined our ten year anniversary. My wife used to work at the Royalton, we met there and wanted to return for our ten year anniversary…what a terribly sad experience.

Royalton Hotel is historical. Ian Schrager part owner of Studio 54 bought this Hotel and remodeled it in 1989. It hasn’t been remodeled since. It’s iconic. Every chair couch table are all custom made just for this Hotel. Every chair in the Lobby/Lounge has a different perspective of view. The design is over the top. A combination of cool brass and warm wood makes for an incredible comfortable atmosphere.
The room are upadated but period to the 1860 est. Of the building. The staff is incredible friendly and most professional. The rooms are spacious clean and designed just like the Lobby/Lounge with attention to detail. Dimming lights in every switch let’s you create the perfect mood in your room.

The staff were amazing, the suite was incredible, and the atmosphere was chill.

Loved our stay here. Perfect location, loved the open fireplace in our room. The lobby was beautiful. We will definitely be back.

The location was awesome, perfect walking distance to most of the sites. The staff friendly and accommodating. The room was amazing, roomy with a wood burning fireplace and a large oval tub. If it gets below 44 degrees they bring you a log for your fireplace and even light it for you. We really enjoyed it.

We got married here in the penthouse north & south, it was Amazing, we loved it & so did our guests. Andre our event organiser was outstanding in making our day a dream come true & the hotel was perfect. Our waiting on staff were fabulous, friendly & joined in our celebrations to make our sure we had the best of times & we did.

They resolve quick all my needs, marco best manager ever, the people from the restaurant staff amazinggg! definently I will come back.

Always a lovely dinner and the staff is wonderful!

We had an issue with housekeeping and management resolved the issue to our satisfaction. It’s a bit dated and a lot of fun with the disco tubs and certainly the location. Great for a theater getaway.

The staff is helpful and kind. The decor is so sexy… Especially the bath tub!

Very noisy reception and bar but in rooms beautiful.

Rocko was very friendly but housekeeping tried to come in my room 3 times before I checked out which made me really uncomfortable.

Very dark on entry to the building so if any sight issue's then stay elsewhere. Room clean and spacious. Aircon VERY noisy. Purchased 1 whiskey and 2 sprites at the bar and it cost $59 which is disgusting. Have read numerous complaints on Trip Advisor about the resort fee and what it included, but this was explained at check in. My minibar was half empty but l was assured I would not be charged. L have read though that the invoice they give on checkout is sometimes different to what is actually charged to the credit card — so will wait and see on that!

The rooms are extremely clean and the hotel staff is pleasant and helpful. The beds are comfortable and I love the decor.

We were checked in immediately by Rocco, who upgraded us for our Anniversary! Rocco made us feel at home immediately and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The lobby is warm and beautified and the hotel location is perfect!

The Royalton Hotel staff has been awesome! ❤️They upgraded us to a beautiful suite with a wood burning fireplace. I'm celebrating 25 years of marriage (a few weeks early) with my wife. Thanks Siobhan Delaney.

Amazing atmosphere. Dimmed lighting throughout offers up an intimate and quietly welcoming ambience. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and friendly and true to the Studio 54 roots of the original Royalton — gorgeous!

Convenient location. Walk to everything touristy in new york. Pleasant staff and entrance on 2 streets. One entrance is via restaurant but they didn't give a attitude problem when some others might have.

This deserves a no star review. First of, the pictures on the website is not what you get physically. The rooms we got 1006 and 1014 were very dusty, tacky and unacceptable. The furniture in the rooms were missing the leg pieces. The brightness of the rooms were dim. The lights in the rooms were not working. I wish I could upload pictures on here. The floors are dusty and unkept plus there is a hole on the floor. This is totally unacceptable. They need to do better.

I had the most awful experience here yesterday. I’m on vacation in NY and decided to meet here for drinks. I accidentally left my husbands credit card there after paying. I came back 45 minutes to an hour to pick it up. I didn’t have my husbands ID on me but I figured since I was just there this wouldn’t be a problem at all. Even after the waiter vouched for me and remembered me it took 3 different male managers to ask me what “the situation was”. I want to point out that even the waiter was shocked with the managements treatment towards me. The rooms division manager Eliot foster was extremely rude to me when resolving this. The whole thing felt very racist and it was embarrassing and awful. Never want to go back there ever again.

This was a nice place. I felt the rooms were just the right size. The bathroom was much larger than other reviews led me to believe. Everyone here was very helpful and nice and it is walking distance to grand central station and times square.

Decent size room. Like the sofa as additional seating in the room. Bathroom was clean but had a slight odor. Really liked the dark and cozy atmosphere in the lobby. Service was good. Location is great and very accessible to subway and major attractions.

I love this place! My husband and I spent 4 nights here during my birthday. Everyone was so nice! They greeted me and I felt really welcomed.

This is second stay here after a couple of years. Great location to be an Englishman abroad. Suite was clean & tidy with plenty of space. Staff were engaging & polite at all times. We are really glad that came back (stayed in one of “brands” for four days prior to arrival & not a patch on the Royalton). Rates were good & cannot fault value for money. It you want a great boutique experience, you will enjoy this place.

Absolutely LOVED our hotel for our NYC trip in May! This hotel lobby is vibrant on any given weeknight. Valet is super professional & friendly. Exceptional guest rooms!

Excellent hotel! One of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve experienced. The bar area is incredible and great service from the staff. And as a Reggie and Obama fan, I love the address — 44 W. 44th. I highly recommend it. It’s become my favorite NYC hotel after just one stay.

The valet parking was convenient and they held our bags since the room wasn't ready. The room itself was spacious, but felt outdated. Theren't enough outlets in the actual bedroom. The bathroom door had a one inch gap when it was closed that you could see into. We definitely would not stay there again.

Excellent customer service at the front desk, great hotel, but absolutely not happy with the extra $440 that was charged to my bill for THINGS I DID NOT TOUCH. Please beware of such money theft. If you have had similar experiences with this hotel, please get in touch so we may pursue reparations to the full extent. EDIT: I called the hotel about my issue and spoke to 2 separate people who were outstanding with understanding my issue, and were helpful in listing all the extra charges; told me to call back tomorrow to dispute the charges.

This is now our favorite NYC hotel! Great service, from the Front desk to housekeeping. We were made to feel at home from the starting bell. The Penthouse was quite a splurge but well so worth it! This place capped off our weeklong milestone celebration! If you need a cozy and spacious balcony with an adjacent cavernous sunroom, the North Penthouse is the place to be! Thanks RH!

The hotel was great, staff was incredible, atmosphere was definitely unique and comfortable. My only complaint was the temperature throughout the building. It was incredibly hot and the AC in the room didn't work. Luckily we were able to open the window and let cool air in.

The location was superb and very good. It was very nice place and I enjoyed very much. The rooms were fantastic and their service provided was mind blowing and excellent. In short I loved that hotel and place very much.

I am so glad I chose this hotel to stay in! This hotel is in a perfect spot … walking distance to Times Square and 5th Avenue! Upon check in… greeted warmly, guest services (Eddie) provided us some complimentary drink tickets and breakfast tickets to make our anniversary trip wonderful! Also upgraded our room! Suite was great… spacious and very “New York”. And I love clean bathrooms, which This hotel has! Warm atmosphere in lobby, and everything you need to make your stay in New York worth while.

In the 1960s a female artist named Louise Nevelson became famous for her dark shadow boxes that were made out of reclaimed wood which she found on the streets of New York. Envision those shadow boxes being recreated out of dark brown steel and lining the walls of a hotel lobby. Throw in linear gas fireplaces and dark button tufted leather and you've got the Royalton. Its artsy, dark and intimate. As you wander from the lobby to curved hallways and enter into the rooms, a submarine or nautical vibe soon takes hold as you encounter polished woods, chromed bathrooms, and port hole frosted windows and lights. Although some of the furnishings and bathroom fittings have seen better days, hipsters rejoice… the Royalton is still an artsy-cool place to stay with clean, very comfy beds and a lively happy hour bar scene that envelopes the lobby and restaurant area. Based on a recent stay after a Broadway show, I'd rate the hotel a B+ /A-… good fun, but leaning towards tired.

We stayed at The Royalton for a Valentines get-away. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend it highly. We booked a Deluxe room and were very pleased that it came with a working fireplace. They have staff on hand to help light the fireplace 24/7 so there’s no need to worry about burning yourself or causing a mess. The room was large and well furnished. The bed was a bit firm, but comfortable. The shower took some figuring out and could have benefited from a few instructions (the hand sprayer was wicked). The lobby is very club-like and a great space to hang out in on the weekends. They only thing we were disappointed about is that the restaurant did not offer room service (they are also not open for lunch on the weekends) but on the grand scheme, that’s a pretty mild complaint. 4/5 stars.

They made us feel very welcome during our stay in New York. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they were kind enough to provide any printed information in a larger font for me due to my visual impairment. The room was bigger than we’d expected, given that we were in such a central location, and we had a very comfortable stay. The bathroom was simply gorgeous. The location was perfect for our purposes. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

Absolutely fabulous service from a classic New York hotel that is centrally situated in midtown Manhattan. I'd recommend opting for the deluxe package that includes a complimentary breakfast. Room was spacious for Manhattan standards and had a small patio — a huge bonus. Furniture was modern and sleek. The bathroom was a highlight — fantastic water pressure and beautiful lighting.
The restaurant — 44 — and Lobby are a bit dated but everything is minimized by the fantastic service. Overall this is a luxury hotel at a bargain price. Book a room now!

Good service, excellent location.

A hotel with a balcony on the 14th floor is definitely one of the most ' IN ' places in New York with these jazzi themed evenings. Of course I recommend because the staff went out of their way to make us happy.
Very well located (Times Square area and the famous 5th Avenue). However a bit pricey but the luxury and perfect service have a price. … just for Bacon, Americans like it brittle, so you just have to ask them right away by too hard and coffee a little louder!

I was definitely not impressed with this Hotel! First off I was expecting it to be a Luxury Hotel and there was nothing Luxurious about this Hotel! Upon walking into the Hotel Room I was extremely disappointed with the Decor of the Room. Once I walked into the Bathroom there was Piss in the Toilet with Tissue still in the Toilet, obviously Housekeeping neglected to clean the Bathroom. The AC did not work well and it would not cool the Room off properly even with the Temperature dropped low as it would go. The Hotel Website is totally Misleading with pictures of what appeared to be a Common Area Outdoor Rooftop Seating Area, there was no outdoor seating areas other than standing on the steps in front of the Hotel Entrance. Needless to say, not a good experience!

I walked into the hotel to relax with some friends and have a drink. On a hot day, it is imperative to find a comfortable place. This hotel is him.

Room on the first floor above the entrance number 417 (yes the first floor is actually the fourth… Mha! ) He felt open and close the door every time he is at any hour, a pity. Very dark Hall and room without light, air conditioning that does not heat up and it cooled so depending on the days big sweaty or cold feet!

My daughter and I spent our Thanksgiving vacation at the Royalton. This was our first trip to New York and doing the Macy's Day Parade. I did a lot of research before choosing our hotel. As I was showing a family member pics of the different hotels on my list, I scrolled to the Royalton's bathtub in the Loft Suite. Absolutely amazing. I called the hotel to confirm that room existed and to inquire about amenities, vicinity to parade, etc. I spoke with Tammy. We talked for a …good half hour. She patiently answered all my questions and confirmed the bathroom existed. After learning it was a suite, in New York, I feared the cost would be too much. However, it aligned perfectly with my budget. I can't go on enough on how happy my daughter and I were with our stay. Not only were we literally just a few steps from the parade, but we were sooooo centrally located to Times Square, shopping on 5th, Central Park… From the moment we walked in, to our very last day, the Royalton never ceased to amaze. Each evening, we were brought a fresh log for the fireplace and we were just so comfy and cozy. Our room was the perfect size for the two of us and that bathtub was out of this world. Such a relaxing time. The concierge was so helpful with getting us newbies info too. We decided to make this NY trip an annual tradition each Thanksgiving.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at in nyc. They try so hard to be a "boutique hotel" and make the decorations of rooms up-scale like putting up the red colour walls and sparkly shower walls, still can't conceal the fact that rooms are small, dark and dated like dungeons. Although it's Manhattan, I have stayed at much better hotels with cheaper prices. I would say avoid this one, totally not worth the price.

The Royalton is a very clean, masculine hotel in midtown Manhattan. It has a beautiful, but dark lobby covered in wood, stone and fur. Our room was fairly spacious with a good size couch for relaxing. The bathroom was very modern with a rainfall showerhead, and stainless steel sink / fittings. Very clean and comfortable.

Penthouse rooms are spacious and well appointed. Restaurant food is quite good, and the smoked drinks are delicious. Atmosphere of the hotel is well designed.

I went there last week and I can tell you that : was shocked this is my experience First I went to NYC by a car from DC as I arrived to the place I had to take more than a round at the block because the main door is small and unrecognized and NO PARKING and I end up taking a parking beside the hotel which I paid 60$ per night (the average there Secondly as I entered the lobby was so small I guess it's a lobby and a bar and a lounge in one tinny room and it was busy that it was annoying that you can hear anybody talking to you And the Rooms are small and uncomfortable with a bad style as if u are in a motel I paid approximately 400$ per night which is so expensive and give me a break that is NOT a 4 star (maximum 2 for me)

It was a great stay. They let us check in early because we had a matinee performance to catch. We left our bags and went off. The bathtub was amazing. Will return!

I wish I could give the Royalton a better review but after a two night stay I can't. On the surface the Royalton looks like a best kept secret of NYC. The downstairs lobby, bar and restaurant area are beautiful. Every evening the area was full of people enjoying themselves with drinks food and conversation. That's the surface I speak of. Now once you scratch the surface you learn that the hotel is lacking when it comes to staying overnight. The hallway and room decor are boring at best compared to the downstairs lobby area. The walls are grey with no art work in the hallways or suits. The finish work in the room we stayed in was poor. It looked like someone went to Home Depot and grabbed basic hardware, tools and paint to take care of the fine details that good hotels take pride in. I don't want to see the door frame pressed up against the wall. I got an idea how about putting some finish work up. Frame that doorway buddy! Another issue I had was the floor. I like to walk around on even floors. This goes back to the letting your friends close buddy do the work at your house because he can do the job for the quarter of the price. Level the floor put some sub flooring down. Theses are only the fine details that stand out when you stand in the room for more than 10 minutes. Now moving onto the bathroom. The Royalton is know for the bathroom with the cool bathtub. The problem is no one told us they put a awesome round bathtub in a phone booth.

Amazing place, Amazing staff, the bar staff are great, such nice people, Stayed here for first leg of our honeymoon, 4 nights, upgraded to penthouse, free drinks, free champange sent to the room, two guys and the girl behind the bar were great, for info on the city, and best places to eat and drink. Defo staying again. Peace x.

We stayed at this hotel. But I recommend this bar to take you a break in the afternoon next to the chimney is top in winter!
Otherwise insignificant personal. 30mn for quon we offer qqc to drink!
The only thing to remember: frame and fireplace!
