The check in process was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful and professional. The room was clean and quite spacious considering the location. The included breakfast is nice but lacks a wide range of warm options. Perfect fit for a long weekend visiting the city.

The Room was pretty big! It had two queen size beds and a pullout couch. There is a mounted TV for each bed and the bathrooms were clean! Good Hotel if you are in the K Town area.

Rooms spacious and comfortable, immense and extremely comfortable bed. Equipped with sofa that on days you will appreciate not only in the moments of planning of visits. The wardrobe is also convenient. Bathroom with an aesthetic in line with the overall style of the hotel. Always cleaning at the top, staff always extremely courteous. Join a very central location, close to the Empire state building, a short walk from time square and two subway stations. It's hard to ask for more at the price you paid. We didn't take breakfast because we found it a bit expensive, but nearby you'll find plenty of options including Bakery, cafes, and various chains (dunkin donuts, Starbucks, etc. ) Just know that the hotel is located on the edge of the Korean neighborhood, so there are strong, acres of kitchen smells abound ingressed on the street. With a one-floor room, you're sure you won't be affected, and the typical noises of a city like NYC (various sirens of ambulances and fire engines, garbage trucks, etc. ) will arrive.

Very cute little hotel in Korea Town. Service and location is great. Our room was very cold, but it's very nice in the summer. Shower is small and cramped, but other than that our stay was great.

It's obvious that providing the BEST service is important to this Hotel. Thank you for an amazing trip and all the wonderful things your hotel offered. This hotel and the friendly staff made our 5th anniversary very memorable. Highly recommended.

The Avalon Hotel NYC… Clean, comfortable, and the staff were always professional and polite. So accommodating to every request. House keeping was attentive and always helpful. Location is centralized. All your needs a few steps away. We had a wonderful experience and enjoyed our stay. We plan to return in a few months. Special thanks to Mr. Santiago!

Stayed at the Avalon hotel during the holidays. The room was quite pricey, but that was expected since it was the busy season. Unfortunately, we had a really bad experience with this hotel. It took a few hours for the front desk staff to have our room ready. When we got to the room, it wasn’t what was shown on their website. We attempted to get a different room, but nothing was available. The attitude of the staff there was quite upsetting. As a business owner, I expect my employees to operate in a way that makes the customer feel appreciated and if there are concerns, those concerns should be addressed by the staff without being disrespectful. This was not the case at the Avalon hotel. The continental breakfast was a joke. Literally a few pieces of fruit, stale bread, and cereal. Even the holiday inn offers waffles or pancakes or even eggs — not this place. They charge almost $20/pp for VERY limited snacks. There is no restaurant or bar. No real close restaurants unless you like cheap, fast, no so great Korean food. Having your luggage tagged or retrieving your luggage takes a good 30-45 minutes. Forget about getting your car from valet in a timely fashion. This hotel also seems to charge extra for just about everything. My bill was nearly doubled because of “hidden fees”. Normally I’m good with finding these things, but this trip was a little last minute and I just didn’t have the time to really investigate. Bad move by me. Overall, this place was a huge disappointment.

While the pictures of the hotel rooms look nice on the website, the reality is the only rooms that look like that are the king suites, and the rooms are very run down. The hotel overall is very dated, and the standard double bed rooms are extensively worn down, and dirty. The furniture, mirrors, floors and all wood work are very beat up and chipping and a few pieces are broken. The headboard literally fell off of the wall in the middle of the night while I was sleeping during my prior stay. The entire room needs a thorough cleaning and new coat of paint. The curtains in my room were brown and showed stains of dark spots throughout each panel. While the lobby area is nice, and the room is very large, I would prefer little conveniences like in-room coffee, a hairdryer that works, and a clean feeling space instead. It is an inexpensive hotel, so it's certainly an option if you're looking for something on a tight budget, however I've stayed at other hotels in midtown for a similar rate and would prefer them.

Good hotel with friendly staff. Unfortunately the room (710) which we got has already got something very much in the years which is clearly visible. In freezing cold, because of poorly insulated windows, the heating has to run almost continuously, which makes it nice and warm. The volume of the heating ventilation is at the tolerable upper limit. The lift is an imposition, it lasts forever until it is there and not seldom it passes by its own floor. For the last centimeter it takes patience again until the door finally opens.

The location was fantastic, do close to the Empire State building and all subway stations, making it an extremely convenient location. At night the Korean restaurants around the hotel are a delicious, inviting smell. The rooms and bathrooms are aged but very clean and function perfectly fine. We were delighted by the free hot cocoa/tea/coffee as we had a winter stay and it was chilly outside. We were welcomed each time we entered the lobby by friendly and awesome employees. Overall I would give this hotel an 11/10 stars. Magnificent all around.

The hotel was great! The service was quick and professional. The room was clean an comfortable. We loved the free cocoa and coffee in the lobby. It keptus warm during our winter walks. Close to empire State building and subway. 5 Stars!

Attention Smokers: This hotel has smoking rooms. This is an excellent hotel in a quiet location but close to Times Square and the Empire State Building. Above average service and cleanliness, too. Rooms are large and mattresses are not old. Book this hotel for a great NYC experience, it is worth it.

From the moment we checked-in we knew we were on the receiving end of world-class service. The check-in process was smooth and efficient and they were able to store our luggage early so we could explore NYC. The room was clean, spacious and very well decorated. The attendant, when called, was always very helpful and provided exemplary customer service. The location of the hotel allowed us to explore much of the surrounding area by foot and cab, which was a huge benefit for our trip. We would not hesitant to stay at the Avalon again or recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to NYC. Thank you for the outstanding service and the wonderful hospitality.

Very comfortable, but with some flaws, they don't give you toothpaste and brush, but the staff is excellent and they cover all the orders that one makes, the breakfast is scarce and they don't have food for diabetics.

The location was very nice. Close to k-twon and a lot of restaurants nearby. The rooms were very big for a Manhattan hotel. Very big bed, decent sized closet, huge bathroom and tub big enough to fit 2 people without it feeling too cramped. Tv has a decent size and had a little desk to work on. Free hot chocolate and coffee in the lobby and overall a very nice night.

Very nice boutique hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Excellent service, large rooms for Manhattan. We had a junior suite with two double beds and a sofa bed. Very nice bathroom. Top-notch, fast housekeeping. Great location, walking distance from Times Square, Empire State Building, Penn Station, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park and NY Library. Buffet breakfast, included in some room rates othwise $17, was excellent. Bagels, breads, pastries, muffins, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, cheeded, cereal, oatmeal and more. Juices, tea, coffee and milk. If charged Is the hotel costly? Check the website and remember it's Midtown Manhattan. Watch out also for the $20 per day "amenities fee" plus the numerous NY taxes. They add up.

Fine attention, the quality and cleanliness of the hotel very good, the location very central and a couple of blocks you can take the Metro or take the bus.
In particular, you will find Oriental food very close, a block full of options especially Koreana.

Definitely the best thing about Avalon is its location. Very friendly staff. However it would not hurt any reform or repair that other.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very spacious and clean although a little dated. Nice bathroom with spa bath and 2 sinks. Breakfast was average, no hot dishes other than porridge, but a good selection of cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt and pastries.

For the price we paid, we were not impressed with the room. We asked for a room facing the street of Manhattan and didn't get it. They said they were full. Which we knew they weren't. The hard wood floors of the room were broken. They charged 16.95 per person to eat breakfast! For the price you pay to stay here you should accommodate your visitors and give them breakfast! The staff not helpful at all. Don't book with them.

Compared to the Hotel Pennsylvania this place is a palace! I had a lovely stay here and the room was clean and spacious. Food was good and staff friendly. I would certainly book again. Some minor wear was noticed but I would rather give them 5 starts than 4. Well done and thanks for saving my holiday after spending one night in the Hotel Pennsylvania.

The hotel was beautiful! We were upgraded to an Executive Suite and it was lovely.

My dear TripAdvisors, you may stop researching boutique hotels because the Avalon is the answer to your quest! This visually delicious petite hotel is not only gorgeous but warm, snugly and truly inviting. The rooms are small, cozy and wonderfully designed; the staff is kind, gentle and eager to accommodate; the location is, well, perfect. How fantastic is it that the Avalon has a happy hour for their guest? Wine, nibblies and two incredible seating areas are available for your happy hour enjoyment. Hungry for more? Just saunter next door to the sister hotel, the Hollander, for some delicious eats. After your meal, utilize the Hollander free ride for a trip to the waterfront: the St. Pete sites will sooth your soul. Thank you to the staff at the Avalon. Our stay was … perfect. Cheers!

Was there as an overnight guest and got the King Suite. The suite was absolutely gorgeous! The bathroom had two rooms to it! Stocked kitchen and spacious. All staff was courteous. Overall, my visit was amazing and I would definitely suggest staying there.

Great location Very close to the Empire state Building and Times Square. The furniture is a bit ' older, but the beds are CMQ comfortable and huge! The International breakfast on request at $16 is plentiful!

Nice Hotel But no visiting advice for New York.

Air conditioner did not work, bathroom door had two large holes sloppily filled with spackle, pillows were thin and very lumpy, Windows did not have screens, room had almost no power outlets and we had to unplug all the lights to charge phones and use my cpap for treatment of sleep apnea. Had an iron but no ironing board, I think this place would have been nice 20 years ago but it's a dump anymore.

Can rate based on meeting space — good location, quiet space, Wi-Fi performed fairly (didn't download much but general work related traffic was acceptable), snacks in the rooms are standard pastry etc. The meeting organizer is super friendly and works hard to accommodate And ensure a smooth meeting.

Location is in Korea town on 32nd and 5th, very convenience area for all the NYC attractions. Rooms are well kept and very large. Friendly front staff and bellman. Would stay again.

Excellent hotel with an excellent location. Going off season, my girlfriend and I paid $130/night for a junior suite which was way more than we needed. Two double beds, a living area and a huge bathroom. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. We were able to store our luggage before and after our stay with no issue. Free coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby were an added benefit. Location was excellent, a short walk to many interesting places to see. Located in Korea town, make sure you try some of the local bakeries for tasty desserts!

Ideal location, you're only a couple of blocks from the Empire State Building. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Dealing with the staff was always a pleasant experience. What more could you ask for!

I stayed in this hotel in 2010 with my then 14-year-old Son. We both liked the hotel very much. The big and clean rooms, the comfort, the location so near to almost everything we´ve visited (and the nice view from our windows at two golden roofs). This year I visit New York the second time, this time with my wife, and guess where we will stay.

We visited NYC July 15 and stayed at the Avalon It was the first time I used an online booking. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Perfect setting location and staff. The staff were above average and treated my kids (7 and 12) like princesses. We can't wait to return. It was worth every penny. The rooms were exactly like the website. Thank you for making our vacation great.

As soon as I arrived, I was upgraded into a twin bedroom and this was the beginning of a very good stay at The Avalon. The location is perfect for someone who wants to see midtown NY. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was better than I could have expected for what I paid. The breakfast was excellent. It cost $14 and was worth it. I will stay at The Avalon whenever I go to New York. The man who checked my bags on the day I left was a highlight. He gave me great advice on how to get to JFK Airport — thank you to all the staff at The Avalon.

A nice little hotel in the heart of New York City. Near almost everything. Have travelled by public transport, travelling by taxi. Fast and not expensive.
Hotel as I understand, is owned by the Spanish hotel chain, respectively the large number of visitors from Spain! The Russians were not! Porter English-and Spanish-speaking, very slow. The room is large and bright. Staff pleasant, breakfast each day, all very clean. The only negative at the entrance was not dressing gowns and slippers. On the first request all appeared on the ground. In our rooms the furniture was in good condition. Beds are very comfortable!
Good quality restaurant. Chef Frenchman or Swiss don't remember exactly. In the evenings, playing Jazz. All delicious without unnecessary frills. Restaurant staff virtually the entire Russian-speaking.
