I found the staff unprofessional and disorganized. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk to check in arriving guests. I waited approximately 20 minutes to check in, and when I checked in I wasn’t provided with receipts of my fee and deposit. Upon check out the person at the front desk stated he did not have the authority to provide record of the deposit and it’s expected return. I frequently stay in the city for business. This was the first time this had occurred. I’ve made several calls to resolve this issue and I’ve yet to speak with someone who can assist me. I spoke with Carmen and was told “I’m busy can you call back. ” I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. This location has yet to discuss with me the $100. Deposit and it’s return. Truly disappointed in their lack of professionalism. Buyer beware!

Great location (W41st. Between 7th & 8th Ave. ) in the theater district, walking distance of shops, transportation and restaurants. The rooms were small, but clean. The staff very nice. Recommend to anyone for the location alone.

Please be aware before staying at this hotel about the safety concerns at the front desk. My partner and I stayed here last week and my partner was locked out of the room. The front desk didn’t ask to see proof of identification and attempted to grant him access but the lock and master key were not working properly. My partner was stranded for hours in Times Square at night with no place to stay and paying for a room he was unable to enter. When he was able to enter he found the front desk staff member, Jessica, fast asleep, and not greeting any of the guests. Buyer beware of this unsafe establishment. When I addressed these concerns with the hotel manager, Alex, he dismissed my concerns and said there was no way to compensate us for this lack of safety and proper customer service. This is especially worrisome as anyone off the street would have been able to enter the hotel and enter any room without verifying their identity. This is not a safe environment for guests, especially guests with children or sick and elderly guests. Safety first, especially in a populous and bustling area such as Times Square.

The location is great, near Times Square with many subway lines in front of the hotel. The staff is great, everyone always available, kind and nice! The room is small but clean and the linen change is done daily. Working air conditioning. On the ground floor there is an Irish pub, if you do not have too much desire to turn around to eat something.

Friendly and central hotel! It's true the spaces are small but nothing that is not more than normal in NY, from here you can comfortably tour all of Manhattan! The friendly staff and impeccable cleanliness certainly makes it an ideal solution for those who want to visit the Big Apple with reasonable costs but without sacrificing quality!

First time in NYC. Staff was awesome. Very helpful and friendly. Location is great if you want to walk everywhere along Times Square. We had the penthouse and to us it was small but was told it was large for New York standards. Balcony was large and inviting. Very clean. Only complaint was the pull out bed in the couch was broken and had no mattress. Would stay here again for sure.

Reasonably priced for prime location. They will hold onto your belongings before and after checkout time. The rooms have verything you need.

Our room was clean and the hotel is in a great location. The staff is amazing, we arrived at 8am and they hustled to get everything ready to allow us to check in early. The day we left they kept our luggage for the day without a fee. Always had great recommendations for food and the price was great!

I stayed at this amazing gem of a hotel Mar 2018. Great location, friendly & helpful staff. Room and washroom was clean, bed was comfortable — — all I needed while in NY. Gleason's Tavern located in the hotel offers great food (and drinks) — — awesome staff there too! Would highly recommend this hotel.

We leave the room in half an hour and what can we say?
The location is perfect to visit, the hotel is very beautiful it feels like a movie.
The room is not very large but no matter, it is clean and well equipped and above all quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the street.
As for the staff, despite my bad English, everyone is very nice and smiling especially Carmen.
If I ever have to come back, it will be at the Shoccard without hesitation!

Hotel Shocard is very good location, downstairs is a subway station, walk three minutes to the most central area of Times Square. The clerk Carmen is a friendly and patient person, and the housekeeping staff of the hotel will also come to clean the room every day. The rooms are very comfortable and warm. If there is any disadvantage, the room on the side will be very dark, because the high-rise next door blocks the light. But it's not a problem, there are several lights in the room. The breakfast was very nice. In short, for price, comfort, geographical location, I highly recommend here.

Enchanted! We've come mother and daughter. All great, very good service on the part of all the reception workers, bar and hotel in general. The location was great and the rooms were very good. In addition we have been helped in any doubt we have had and with the suitcases for the taxi. The staff were very friendly. Recommended 100%

Got a room for a weekend stay. Lovely, modern decor. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out, and very affordable! Especially in the heart of Times Square. Highly recommended for business or couples!

It is a cosy hotel, just a step away from Time Square and many places of interest. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I booked a room back in July 2017 when it was just my daughter and I coming to New York. My son decided to join us so I called and asked for a room that slept 3. I was told my room had been switched and thought nothing more of it! When we arrived at first I was told only 2 would be allowed in the room. I said that’s fine and great but my room was suppose to accommodate 3. Later that night the manager came to the room and said he apologized and would get us a room that would sleep all 3 for the rest of our stay. When we returned this evening the manager said there was no adjustment made to our room and he was not going to switch it — he was sorry. The best he could do was sell me another room at a discounted rate after I already paid for my room that was suppose to hold 3. So needless to say there are 3 people on a double bed. Also the rooftop deck for New Years doesn’t exist either. I have to say for $1900 for 3 nights you would think they would get it right. I would not recommend staying here and the breakfasts only run $12-19 so don’t buy the breakfast package it’s not worth the extra money you could pay cash for. If there was a zero star I would have given it a zero! Not happy in New York!

It's a small hotel with a giant service. Super clean and with a spectacular attention. Good price and great breakfast.

Rooms were as expected. Tiny but functional. Location was amazing. Staff is very friendly. Cleaning could use a little work. We did get clean towels daily, but floor was not vacuumed or at least not well. Gleason's Bar was convenient for a quick drink and break between excursions. Bar snacks were good. We did not eat a full meal there, but the plates we saw coming from the kutchen looked good. I would recommend for a trip to Times Square.

Small and cozy hotel with a situation I nmejorable to a little corner of Times Square: You are in the center of the move but in a quiet, modern, acogedir and relatively small place. A jewel in. Full Manhatthan.

We stayed at Hotel Shocard for 3 nights and had a great experience overall. Carmen welcomed us upon our arrival and gave us glasses of champagne and cupcakes! She was very friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our visit. Our interactions with other staff members were limited, but similar. The location is tough to beat — right at the south end of Time Square and a subway stop just across the street. Our room and bathroom were very clean. The room was very small, which we were generally fine with considering the location. The only drawbacks I experienced would be the nearly see-through bathroom door (sort of opaque, but more see-through), and the lack of a full shower door or curtain. We put a towel on the floor to help with the water inevitability landing on the floor and it was manageable. It also would have been nice to have another set of outlets, as our room only had one set in the bedroom and one set in the bathroom.

I was in New York from 24/09 to 29/09. The staff of the hotel is Divino Carmen and July Super Simpatico. I sent orders and received them without problems. The only thing is that the room is very small, and the air conditioner made a lot of noise. The location is excellent. If you go alone to sleep it is great.

A small but nicely maintained boutique hotel which is surprisingly close to Times Square for its usually-under-$200-a-night price tag. If you are a mid-budget traveler who wants to stay close to TS, but don't want to break your monthly budget, this is the place. Two Downsides I noticed — some rooms don't have a window at all. Rooms are pretty small (bathrooms could have been smaller, and rooms a bit bigger). Overall, a value deal. Would like to stay again.

Hotel was very nice. Would technically give it a 4.5. We began in room 203, which, if that's the room you're assigned, is extremely small and the only view is a wall two feet out the window. When we mentioned this to staff, they moved us the next night to a much nicer room without any hesitation. Staff are very helpful and friendly, even the night managers. Certainly, recommend for anyone looking to stay practically right at Times Square.

I want to like this hotel. Great location, good price, nice staff, well designed (albeit tiny) and nicely decorated room. Unfortunately there are two things that would keep me from returning. Although I didn't come to New York to watch TV, it's nice to have the ability to do so when you return to your room. Here you can watch TV as long as it is a local broadcast station. No cable. The bigger issue is the air conditioner. There is no low fan setting and when it is on, it's like you have a jet in your room and it gets too cold. If you turn the thermostat up to quiet the noise you burn up. There is no in between. Not at all conducive to a good nights sleep. I don't think anyone from the hotel knows how significant a problem it is. Any number of choices would have been better.

Very nice room but very clean, very friendly and helpful staff only negative the restaurant is very very very noisy.

There is an Irish bar in the same room as the lobby. I asked if we would be able to hear the noise from our room. The receptionist said no. We came up to our room, and he was right. We could not hear the bar. We couldn't even hear each other speak. The A/C in our room is the loudest one I've ever heard. Even when we turned it off it was awfully loud. We had it on during the night. It was blowing air right in our faces in addition to the sound. We were hardly able to sleep. I was exhausted my entire stay in New York city because of that A/C. The two stars are for the comfortable beds and the pleasant staff.

Really great stay overall. The room was clean and modern. However they did overbook our room and another couple walked in when we were asleep.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a great location. And while the rooms are small they are modern and clean. Carmen was absolutely amazing and treated us like family. We loved our cupcakes! This is a great spot to stay if visiting the city, we will be back.

This is a great hotel! The rooms are not large but in the heart of Times Square You can not have this requirement, especially for the price I paid at night ($130).

Equity Point Hostel is a hostel/hotel of a Spanish chain of the hostels. Considering how expensive that is New York accommodation, it is highly recommended to stay at the Equity Point Hostel, because although it has a very simple equipment, the price is not at all bad, include you breakfast and best of all is next to Times Square and beside a metro station to go straight to the donwtown. Ideal if you want a place to sleep in your trip to New York.

Without a doubt, the best of this hostel is its location. Located two minutes walk from Times Square, is without a doubt one of the lowest forms of stay in the city. If it wasn't for the location, the relationship for money would seem to me pretty bad, since, although clean, rooms very small, the Wi-Fi is offered but fatal work… but is of the few places in the city where breakfast is included. I put 4 stars, but well worth a 2-3 if it weren't for the location.

Spent my 25th Birthday here, perfect location, everything Time Square in walking distance. Rooms are a bit small but I would rather sleep in the bathroom shower anyways, lol.
