Renovated and clean!
The hallways to and in the rooms are quite narrow, which did not bother us at all. Our hope was that the room is clean and freshly made every day — and we were absolutely not disappointed!
Every day the room was brought back to the foreman! We didn't miss anything. The short walk to the subway (line 1 — going to lower Manhattan) was ideal — about 2 minutes on foot. For pleasant walks, Central Park is around the corner (10-15 minutes walk).
The area is less hectic than the districts south of Central Park, but not boring at all. There are shopping facilities for the most necessary food (Manhattan prices) and great shops for shopping (including Apple or Sephora).
More northerly than the Belnord hotel we were not on the road in our 7-day stay, so I can say very little.
Conclusion: Great hotel for simple people who want to explore the island. Clean and well maintained! Great connection to the public. Quiet and very inexpensive!
Pro: + proximity to Subway (50-80m to Station 86 street) + clean and well maintained + hardworking room cleaning + cheap/inexpensive + proximity to Central Park (10-15 min) + Helpful reception (mostly English/Spanish) + Quiet location + pleasant surroundings + shopping facilities + renovated
Contra: — Relatively slow Wi-Fi — water takes time to get warm — narrow aisles/small room — long train ride to southern Manhattan (20 — 30 min) — No drinking water (or drink not recommended) — expensive prices in Manhattan.
