Great place to stay. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Done over pool for covid safety seems kinda lame and room had no microwave but overall will def stay here again when driving through this area.

It was clean and I felt safe. Had a car rental to explore what Albuquerque could offer. If you want New Mexican food, try Duran Pharmacy! Breaking Bad tour in Old Town was a blast if a fan of the show. Slept great and was rested to enjoy my vacation. Thanks to the staff for great hospitality. (2/14 to 2/17).

The pool and hot tub are outside but under a dome. I was a little concerned but it was very nice. Relaxing. Only complaint is there is no fan in the bathroom. : (

Traveling over 2, 500 hundred mile this week and staying in 5 different Best Westerns this is beautiful, The cleanest and most friendly. Restaurant and bar on premises. I would rate this hotel 5 stars.

Very comfortable room with lots of space, nice decor. Staff were very nice and welcoming except for the gal that seated us on morning of September 27th for breakfast. Never smiled, hardly said a word, looked half asleep.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Rio Grande location. Staff was friendly and helpful. They provided a shuttle to Old Town and the 7$ voucher for breakfast was great. Actually this was my second time to this hotel and will definitely come back.

I stayed one night on August 9, 2018 and was charged $111.64. They also charged my debit card $250.00 deposit fee. When called about the deposit fee, a gentleman told me they charge it like cash and it takes 3-5 business days to return those fees to my bank. I never had a hotel do this. However, waited those 3-5 days and nothing had been returned. Called General Manager and left message. No call. Called again, manager NEVER seems to be in. Calling corporate next. They stole 250.00 from me. I'm glad I check my bank account closely. Imagine those people that don't. Someone is pocketing money!

Stayed here with my husband for 11 days. Kind and welcoming service all around! It’s safe at night, as they lock up all but one entrance. Pool was nice and clean anytime we went down. Room was clean and over all they keep repairs up to date and can tell they are bringing in little changes to better the place even more. The restaurant side for breakfast is fast, efficient, clean, and super kind. (Ask for Jonathan! ) This is our go to place each year we are in Albuquerque! Old town is in walking distance for those of you who like history and seeing historic stuff.

Was very clean and comfortable. Pool was nice staff is helpful. Breakfast was not included so plan on spending some money if you eat here for breakfast. It was very good food though. Overall great time.

This hotel is a block from the highway and walking distance to old town. The hotel is clean, well staffed and has a nice restaurant on site. Upon check-in I was given breakfast vouchers. I was pleasantly surprised at the breakfast choices and delighted with each I ordered. Perfectly cooked eggs, brought to the table while still warm as was the toast. I was impressed and would highly recommend this hotel.

What do these people not understand that people who travel with pets have good behavior. My pets are better groomed than the average Americans. Because they sleep in my bed! High end hotels now take pets. That’s how we roll! Get a clue! If you don’t get it that the average traveling American is a Baby Boomer and we treat our pets really well. Then … you loose. Because we can find a much
better place that accepts pets and you are the Looser!

For what they charge, the state of this establishment is unacceptable. The hot tub was out of order, the pool was a mess. No continental breakfast!? Best Western always has THE BEST continental breakfast! The phone and refrigerator looked like they were at least 25 years old, and floor in my room was so dirty the bottom of my feet were black after just a few minutes. The location is convenient from the highway and there is a lot around, but I would not stay here again and would not recommend it. If this was my first impression of a Best Western I doubt I would give it another chance!

Quiet place right off of I-40. Close to Old Town Albuquerque. Rooms are quaint, clean and comfortable. Restaurant in lobby was good. Lounge area was enjoyable even from the restaurant area. Felt safe and secure.

Very nice hotel. I have stayed here many time for business. Rooms are always clean. The place is nicely up-to-date and well kept. Nothing fancy, but nothing bad. Ample, convenient parking. Friendly staff. Year round pool and hot tub is nice (they cover it in the winter).

Came here early in the morning as we we're traveling. Got put in a room pretty quick. The rooms are nice and spacious. The hotel seems older but is clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent voucher breakfast, much, much better than competitors "self serve" type. This is a real restaurant experience with servers and menu! Convenient shuttle service. Great proximity to Old Town attractions. Pet friendly.

Nice place… The entry drive way is a bit small and impassable if someone parks in the middle front of the lobby. When we stayed the night, someone parked there and we couldn't get by to get to the parking area. We had to find the owner of the vehicle… Other than that we had a great room and a great breakfast.

We stayed here on the way back from a road trip from Memphis to my Brother’s home in Napa last Thanksgiving. We stayed in much more expensive hotels during that trip, but this place was great. It was clean, cozy, and had a decent bar/restaurant. The pool was under a bubble that time of year, yet still lovely and well decorated. The cost/value can’t be beat.

Nice place. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was different then other BW+’s we have stayed at. Integral restaurant with lobby. You get a voucher for breakfast (order off menu). The breakfast was very good but expect to pay. The voucher seems to only cover about half of a full breakfast.

It's all good. It would be very easy to pay more and get less in Albuquerque. That has happened to me. My room was quiet, the service was good, and the food at the restaurant was pleasing. Three selections of local Albuquerque beers were available. Again, you could spend a lot more and get a lot less.

This is a quality hotel with friendly, helpful staff. It is centrally located near Old Town and easy access to the airport. The restaurant and amenities are great. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality hotel at a fair price.

Albuquerque's Best Western Rio Grande is a great place to stay. Offering a bar and restaurant, pet friendly, great staff and nice rooms. A short walk to old Town, great shops and sight seeing. 5 out of our 6 stays we've seen Hot Air Balloons coming or going. Tried to talk our grandson into a balloon or tram ride. He wasn't having any of it.

Firstly I’d like to say the staff at check in was nice (around 1130pm), quick easy check in and done. Room was nice, toiletries left were a nice touch. Here is the issue that arose. Because we checked in later there was absolutely NO parking for a SUV pulling a trailer. The gates were closed so there was no turn around to get out of the back of the parking lot (we eventually got security to open them). But in the meantime, a staff member kept coming out of the kitchen, laughing at my sister who was trying to back up the trailer to get turned around, and then going back inside, and coming back out and laughing again several time, kinda rude in an already frustrating situation. And just a heads up, if you want breakfast here it is a restaurant and you’ll have to pay.

Xx the hotel was amazing, nestled right in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Wood cabins surrounded the hotel they all had green and red tin roofs. Step outside and feel the Mountain Air as it touches your face. Very limited traffic on Milton Street. So it makes it easier to walk across the street. The front desk host was getting off as we were checking in, and happened to operate a local two-story tour bus tour company. We got a private tour of the city of Albuquerque New Mexico. Home to the nicest people in the world. The bathrooms were clean, the beds were made they have soft pillows and nice carpet. Reminds me of staying at the Best Best Western in the world in McAlester Oklahoma.

This was a golden nugget we found! Clean and comfortable! The decor is awesome, southwest, and the hallways are lined with authentic pictures of New Mexico history. The staff was amazing in their care. We will be staying again.

This was the BEST spur of the moment hotel stop we've ever had. This hotel has everything you'd want & need right there! Great Restaurant, bar, free breakfast. Room was nice, clean, quiet & comfortable bed. We WILL be stopping there again on trips through! Our dinner was delicious!

Checked in early and effectively fast. Complimentary breakfast was terrific. Bar was nice with local craft beer with chips and salsa! Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable.

Not a place I would be staying at again. The hallway and the room smelled. The remote in its “protective” “clean” sleeve had food all in the buttons. In the corner of the room by the floor lamp was what looked to have been dog poop that wasn’t fully cleaned and sitting on the top of the carpet.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. It is very convenient for us when we travel through Albuquerque. We like the old atmosphere of this hotel. It is clean and quiet. The staff are very nice. Breakfast is excellent. We will stay here again if we are in ABQ.

Took this hotel off speed dial. They have changed too much. Animals now stink up the place. One dog used the elevator for a pee station, and they keep you awake. Their policies are different now, we will not be coming back here. Sad, they used to be a great place. Hilton here we come.

Not very clean. Our room needed to be cleaned better and the carpet was worn. The bath was also in need od updating and the tub looked unclean. I found several hairs in it… We have stayed in several other Best Western locations and this one needs help… the breakfast was good as was our dinner the night before. The location to the freeway is good, as your right off Hwy 40 and there are several places to eat within walking distance.

This is an older hotel but our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and housekeeping did a great job. The breakfast staff was great to our party of eight. The front desk was very accommodating when we requested a room change for accessibility to disability parking. We would definitely return.

Great rooms. Friendly staff. Good restaurant and bar. Breakfast options were good. Only problem was no hot water for tub/shower. That can happen anytime just like in your own home. I’ve stayed here before and all was great including hot water. Would definitely stay there again next time I’m driving across the country.

We were only in this hotel briefly, for one night, but it was clean, comfortable, within walking distance to old town, and had easy access to the interstate for us to get down to the Balloon Fiesta. We were able to check in a little early (after eating a late lunch at Monica's which was easy to walk to and had no wait when everything in old town was an hour wait). We were able to get a 'to go' breakfast in the wee hours of the morning (3:30 am) to take with us to the Balloon Fiesta also. Very helpful staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Good location, though difficult to see from the road. Convenient to downtown. Friendly staff. Parking lot is a maze. Hotel is dated, but still well kept, needs updates. Expensive for an average hotel, but that may be because of location. I would stay at a newer hotel and drive a little further for less money.

Decent for a Best Western. However, the property is old and it shows. The rooms are small. Maybe it was just the ones I was in, but the room was cramped. I think this is a function of the layout mostly. The priory was clean, however, and on-site security is nice in that area of town. At night, the parking lot gates close so there is only one way in and out. This is nice since the area is a higher crime area. Staff was friendly.

Nice room, comfy bed, clean, slept well, bathroom had no counter space. Pretty but not functional. Laundry dryer was broken. 2 washers, only 1 dryer and it was a busy room. AC kept shutting off, had to turn it on at 1 am, stuffy and warm. Restaurant inside was decent, loved my burger, bun was homemade I think. Service was so, so, our waitress was running her butt off, but other employees, not so helpful.

I and a friend ended up at the Best Western for 5 additional nights due to canceled flights because of a hurricane. I could not say enough positive things about the hotel amenities, the cleanliness of the rooms and all areas, the use of 4 computers, the free shuttle. The greatest positive, however, was the pleasant and helpful staff — from the housekeeping personnel, to the front desk, to the maintenance (Edwin), to the restaurant staff (Christine). In particular, Will, Andy and Joe at the front desk were so extra helpful with the computers (when previous guests hadn't logged off and we couldn't figure out how to get them off) or just because the computer was unfamiliar and not like our ones at home. They also assisted just making suggestions as to sights to see or scheduling the shuttle for us or answering questions about our bill. Will was extremely helpful locating an area drug store and arranging transportation to pick up a prescription that I was running out of due to the cancelled flights and extended stay. Any time we needed to ask a question or ask for help, we knew we could count on them. They made a stressful and potentially unpleasant experience so much better. Property was clean and had a pleasing atmosphere. Restaurant had great Mexican food. Restaurant service was excellent. Rooms nice, clean but, bed was to soft for me. This was my first Best Western "Plus". Did not see that this facility was any better than the regular Best Westerns that I have stayed in.

Stayed there for two nights and was clearly satisfied with it!. Very close to many sightseeing places around the area! No regrets coming here, but know that because it's attached to a bar/grill, your complimentary breakfast will be in vouchers over there. I did have an experience where some of the cleaning staff didn't know much English, but luckily I have knowledge on Spanish to communicate my needs to them. I know for sure they have rides to the airport, and that the pool (including hot tub), is pretty average but nice! Parking was one of the good things we experience there, and they sure cover all the necessities a hotel should have!

Convenient location, close to Old Town. Hotel provided shuttle service to many near-by attractions, if they were a bit far from walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was dine-in, which was a welcome change from the usual buffet madness offered at most other hotels. We had lost one of our breakfast vouchers, and the desk clerk happily provided us with a replacement, no questions asked. Air conditioning was a bit quirky to figure out, and could have cooled a bit better, but still, we were very comfortable in our room.

South West style Hotel. A ten minute walk to the old town.

Besides its convenient location (proximity to major highways, the Convention Center, and Old Town) I have really appreciated the hospitality of the staff. The Inn is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Those being my greatest priorities when choosing a place to stay, I'd recommend this Best Western to anyone.

A wonderful facility and staff. Rachel, Zack & Kelly at front desk were a pleasure to deal with. The bartender (do not remember name) was pleasant and helpful. Zachary kindly helped me decide on the next location and a BW there.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. They gave us vouchers for a free breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. I had french toast with an egg and two bacon strips. Although it may not sound like a whole lot of food, it was a large plate and very filling. Overall I was very pleased with my stay.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I used the room service request card & feel this should be used at all your hotels. Very easy way to communicate. All my needs were addressed. The lady at checkin was very helpful in directing us to local restaurants. Every employee we encountered was smiling, pleasant and courteous. We love this Best Western location.

This was my second stay at this hotel this year. This is one of our favorite places to stay. Some motels have really cut back do to economic problems and service suffers. This is not the case with this motel, if they have cut back, it is not evident to the consumer. Thanks for staying true to serving your customers. Wonderful hotel. I wish I could remember the young fellow's name. I do remember he went out of his way to get my wife and myself checked in and described "Old Town" to us. We were even shuttled back and forth to Old Town. Overall, it was a super experience. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and I regret I don't remember her name even tho' I noted it at the time! TSK! Also, a trainee was helpful when I asked for another copy of our bill when we returned our "keys". Our room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the pool and courtyard were beautiful. The location was handy to Old town and museums. A great hotel for couples or families. The Old Town location and easy freeway access always makes this the perfect place for me to stay whenever I come to Albuquerque to visit my grandchildren! We played at the pool, had Vending machine snack/movie night and loved every minute! The room is spacious, the beds comfy, and the in-room refrigerator is a plus! The staff is always friendly and accommodating! Stayed here four times and looking forward to the fifth! Everyone we made contact with was extremely helpful. It was a very satisfactory experience. Nice staff! Great breakfast! Great location! The best part of our stay at this hotel was the helpfulness and friendliness of all of the staff. They were uniformly cheerful and seemed to go out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

My husband and I had a quick two night stopover here in September 2015. We checked in after midnight and the gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming. We were even given vouchers for free breakfasts for the duration of our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean and the memorabilia around the hotel is a very interesting look into the history of New Mexico. Well situated in very easy walking distance to Old Town.

We found this hotel and its location by chance, but it was three blocks from Old Town Albuquerque and very convenient to I40. The decor was Western and very interesting. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They had a dance lesson in merengue that evening. There is a full restaurant for dinner and for the elaborate breakfast you get included. All in all, a great stay; we would certainly go back. Our stay was far beyond expectations. Staff cheerfully shuttled my husband and I into Old Town and picked us up on request. One highlight was to discover the dance lessons being taught. I would definitely stay again. The clerk who checked us in was wonderful. She gave us helpful tips and a map to Old Town. The waitress at dinner and the waiter at breakfast were both charming, friendly and efficient. We had stayed here once before, 8 years ago. That was why we chose to stay here again. If anything, we love the place even more. On our six days on the road we had only three really good meals and two of them were dinner and breakfast at Rio Grande. We love this place. We were so happy with the hotel, when we came back through on our return trip, that we stayed again. We had a great time. Best-Best Western we have ever been to. Decor, having a restaurant right there. Perfect! Excellent stay. Best value for the dollar. Great location. I had a restful night and would recommend it to anyone. Just totally loved our stay!

I was in Albuquerque for a conference and chose to stay at this hotel instead of the conference hotel downtown due to it's proximity to Old Town, major roads and attractions. I am so happy that I made that decision. My four day stay turned into six days as a result of superstorm Sandy (I am from New York). I got to know the hotel staff and the neighborhood as a result of my extended stay and availed myself of some of the handy features such as a laundrymat on my floor and the excellent business center. The food in the hotel restaurant is homemade and is very reasonable priced. There is a different delicious soup everyday. It is a short walk to Old Town and there is a Starbucks across the street. The pool and spa looked clean and inviting though I never had time to try them. I am returning to Albuquerque with my husband in June for a wedding and we will stay here.

Good location for Old Town. The hotel shuttle picked us up at the airport and returned us to the airport to get our rental car. We also used the shuttle to bring us to a museum. The staff were always helpful with any questions during our stay.

Clean, affordable, safe. Good value. I have stoped here twice a year every year on my way to Pheonix from Colorado Springs and back for a decade. I am married and have two small children and this is the most convenient, clean, safe affordable place on I-40w in Old Town Albuquerque. Bonus: There is a good restaurant in the hotel with a good breakfast menu so you can get up and get on your way!

This is the best hotel we have stayed in in a very long time. Clean. Reasonable. Friendly staff. Very nice restaurant right in the lobby. Free breakfast! We arrived without a reservation. No problem. Angela, at the front desk, was helpful and quick, plus she brought me an iced tea when I mentioned being in the car for 12 hours. We wish there were more hotels like the Best Western Rio Grande. Nice Hotel! My wife and I are on an 11 week road trip and stopped in Albuquerque for two nights. We are experienced travelers and have stayed at many hotels, lodges, B&Bs etc. This a nice hotel. Large clean room, good location, friendly staff. Good restaurant and Bar. The bar tender Angelica was very informative about what to visit in the area. I don't get the negative reviews.

I stayed in many Best Western Hotels across the Southwest and this one was the worst. Internet did not work on the room (tried on every possible OS). The front desk said they were sending someone to reset the router but if they did, it didn't change anything. The window was not very well isolated so it was pretty cold (I visited in December). The AC/heater was VERY noisy and switched on and off all night long. There were no plugs easily accessible from my bed (had to pull my bed). The breakfast system was a bit weird. You get a $5 voucher with which you can get a few basic options; it's not a buffet and it's not very good either (my sautéed potatoes had been re-heated and had peppers in it which is a bad idea — trust me I'm French). Did not get a chance to try the pool.

We had an extended stay at this location and were very pleased with the experience. The property and hotel were very clean and had a very unique decor. The rooms were well furnished and comfortable. Each night we stayed we were provided a five dollar credit toward breakfast at the attached restaurant. The menu included a five dollar section and I was very surprised at the quality and quantity of the selection.

We paid $100 for a room where internet didn't work and the front desk claimed we were the only room. Spoke to other guests, they didn't have internet either. Went to the lobby and internet was still limited. We found a sippy cup in the room. Huh. Guess cleaning is not a priority. In addition the staff is condescending and don't seem to understand customer service if you have an issue. We came to this hotel based on the reviews. Wonder why our experience was so bad. Could have spent half the money at a super 8 for a room the same size and beds just as comfortable.

The staff was friendly. But when we got in to the elevator we where met with a big dog whit very bad breath. The sink had a very bad sewer odor and the bedding disgusting smell (dirty animals os some thing) I will never ever stay there again not even if it was free.
