Other than the price there was nothing good about the stay. When I checked in the front desk clerk was not in any type of uniform and was dressed kinda frumpy. Started rambling about past family issues she had with people in my hometown after she looked at me weird and said "Belen? What the heck are you doing all the way down here? ". She told me to park in the front to get to my room which was in the back then when we got to the room there were parking spaces about 20 steps away in the rear parking lot. The room had dirty covers and was very very cramp. The bathroom door did not lock and there was dust everywhere. On our way back from the pool I stepped in dog poo from the many dogs staying there with other guests. I didn't notice the poo though until I tracked it into my room. Next stay anywhere I'll spend the extra $20 for a better room and experience.

I'm so glad I only booked one night here. The room smelt awful when we walked in. The blankets were too thin to keep you warm at night and in the morning when I went to take a shower the bathroom was so filthy I had to wear my flipflops in the shower. The shower was hardly big enough for one person. After I took a shower I opened my towel to find at least 7 long black hairs in the towel. The hotel reminded me of a horror movie setting.

I have been staying at this establishment since the later part of March of this year. This was the perfect solution. Motel 6 is very Pet Friendly and price Friendly. All the people that work here, Sem, his parents and let us not forget, SaFeet and Merica. Have been very friendly and helping. These fantastic individuals respect their guest the minute Motel 6 greets their guest by phone or individually.

Location of the hotel was nice. Basic motel room. A little cramped for a room with two beds. Otherwise everything clean and lots of cool air conditioning.

The staff were really nice and helpful and the rooms were great. I liked the double beds considering I have my dog with me.

In earlier reviews of this motel, I've gladly given strong 4+ reviews. We recently spent two weeks here while house hunting. In our opinion, you would be hard-pressed to find a better bunch of people to take care of you during your stay. However, as I recently learned, this is not a Motel 6-owned property. For lack of better information, I'll guess the owner of this motel has a Motel 6 franchise. The point here is that the deferred maintenance in this motel has been deferred too long. Every room we have stayed in has had issues. The ice machine has not worked since we started staying there in November of 2017. What gets fixed or doesn't is all up to the owner to approve. The staff does their best to work around these issues and provide you with the best possible stay. But then again, we are discussing room rates under $40 for two.

The experience was far from other motel 6 experiences. Dirty rooms, specifically on and behind flat screen tv. Also under bed. extremely uncomfortable bed an pillows. Key cards not working, having to go back and forth to main desk until finally they had to come along and let us in with master key. No shampoo present. Ice machine broken — so no ice available. general condition of the motel = Worn down. I would not go back to this motel.

Got into our room and one of the pillows was missing a pillowcase. Requested scouter one and the maid just left it on the bed while we were at dinner lol. Also the showers are extremely small! And hard as hell to adjust the water temp to anything comfortable. AC unit had no vents on the inside to adjust the air direction. And definitely sloppy "cleaning" by housekeeping. Motel 6 is not anywhere near good standard anymore.

Duvet on the bed had stains/burn marks on it. Towels seemed to have small hairs stuck into them. Otherwise, everything was in working order. They had the good cable package with lots of channels. The staff also was very friendly at check in. Fine place for the money.

The room was cheap, but that's about it for "the good". The walls for the rooms are paper thin and you can hear everyone outside and in the other rooms (and I assume they can hear you as well). Our room was right next to the office and the office has a ridiculous bell that rings every time someone comes through the door, so it was very hard to fall asleep. I went to the front desk and asked them if they could disable the bell, because I couldn't sleep because of it, it kept waking me up, she looked at me as if this was ridiculous, but she disabled it nonetheless, HOWEVER… whoever took over for the next shift at night re-engaged it and by 6am, when everyone started checking out, the bell started going off every 5-10 minutes. Couldn't get enough of the good sleep needed to get back on the road. The bed was also uncomfortable. I will NEVER stay at that place again…

I am sorry but I was disappointed with the accommodations at this Motel 6 in Alamogordo. No means for making coffee in the room. The door was very difficult to unlock and open. The walls were not soundproofed as I could hear way too much of what was going on in the rooms next to me and above me. And for a nonsmoking facility it was very smoky. The person upstairs would constantly step outside his door and lean over the railing to smoke his cigarettes and spit onto the ground in front of my door. And the talking, laughing, and congregating outside near my room late in the evening was very disruptive. I can say one good thing is that the staff was very nice and we're sweet enough to be sure I got a ground level room, no stairs, and parking right in front of my room. That I did really appreciate as my hips and back don't allow me to walk far, nor go up and down stairs, so that was a relief. It could have been cleaner too.

Do to issues out of management control there were safety issues in my room. The place really needs to be inspected and remodeled. The staff were great. I will be willing to return if I have to.

The worst Motel 6 ever. Cigarette burns in bedspread. No cover on heater vent. Temp control stuck on full hot. Dog turds all over lawn and even ON THE SIDEWALK! (Staff laughed when I told them. ) Towels stained (not properly laundered). No hot water late at night. TV remote control case broken & held together with scotch tape. Long-term tenant's pets (2 cats & a dog) allowed to roam unleashed through permanently open room door. Door latch almost impossible to operate from inside room. Despite request that floor be scrubbed during our second day it was not done. It was dirty when we got there. Soft drink machine inoperative. Icebox interior dirty. There is no excuse whatsoever! Oh, Saturday night it was almost as if the rooms were tented BY THE HOUR. And the manager was not on site during our entire stay. Finally, NO available outlets to charge electronic devices.

I always look for renovated Motel 6 lodgings as they are a great deal for the price. The staff here was not only friendly, but knowledgeable of not only places to hike but also the history of the area. While we can find the information online, having the interaction with a friendly person is the best. FYI: if you need Wi-Fi access, check with the motel before booking. This location has spotty access (which was fine with us as we didn't need it).

The toilet kept running. I would have to take off the tank top and unstick the plunger so the tank could fill up. The grate on the heater/cooler was missing. Everything else in the room worked fine. The grass area in the rear had lots of little bits of trash that had not been picked up.

The night Auditor was great as she got us in to a room when we drove into town at 130 am from a 13 hour drive from California. She is the reason the place isn't getting one star. It is very run down and needs to be updated. Putting a flat screen TV and new bed spread does not update the room. I am aware that MOST Motel 6's underwent renovations and updates a few years back and somehow this place only managed to swing the new bedspreads. The bottom of the shower was wet and lime molded. The towels were dingy and stained. The toilet, sinks and floor were stained and old. Not very clean. I know it's a Motel 6 what do I expect but I could've stayed at the White Sands Motel for less if I wanted to be in such run down space.

Pros= short walking distance to restaurant. Lady at front desk was super nice. Plenty of parking spaces. Pet friendly. Decent price, although I have stayed in better for the same price. Cons= older motel 6 with the hard ass beds. Bathroom has that crappy corner shower. Older a. C. Unit. People living in some rooms which I think should be a no no for a big motel chain. My room did have a microwave and small fridge. This motel 6 needs a remodel. If I hadn't been really tired I wouldn't have stopped.

Come on anyone who is visiting or on business this is a perfect Motel very clean upgrade rooms what more would you want for your money. And that’s another thing the price point is perfect.

This place is a dive, heavily worn busted doors rooms not cleaned right chairs falling apart small AC vents missing beds hard as a rock, not worth it at any price. The manager refused to give refund even after I told him I am not staying here. Filed charge back on my card.

The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem was that the thermostat on the cooler was not working properly so the room would get too cold and I would have to turn the cooling off. After 15 minutes the room would be to hot and I would have to get up to turn the air conditioner back on.

First let me mention that the young lady at the front desk was awesome! (She is the reason this place received any stars at all. ) The room provides you with a hard and uncomfortable bed. In the bathroom you are provided two bars of soap… the towels looked dirty… the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned. I will not stay here again.

Had a couple of small electronic issues. TV and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi could be stronger. Issues resolved quickly by staff. Also one of the better cups of morning coffee I have ad at any f your properties.

Location is perfect for trip to White Sands. Got exactly the location in building that we requested. Dog-friendly makes it wonderful. Housekeeping woman was a joy to talk to first thing in the a. M. She was friendly and helpful. Check in was super easy.

Do NOT stay here! Our 1st room had bed bugs. The front desk lady was apologetic and changed us rooms. Our 2nd room had cockroach and again the front office lady was great at trying to resolve the issue. However, "Tina" was rude she came to check the room wasn't willing to listen to me told me and my family we had to leave if we weren't satisfied and refused to get the manager. She didn't let me finish talking to her as she stormed out of the room amd slammed the door. The least they can do is give a FULL refund! They get 1 star because of the wonderful woman in the front desk.

I stopped staying at this location 15 years ago due to the thieving maids. Management HAS changed; maids stealing has NOT. This location is a real black eye to the whole franchise and I will not stay here again. There are many locally owned options in this town that don't have thieves working for them and that's where I will stay next time.

We were passing through on July 4 weekend. This was the only room we could get and although I don't expect much from Motel 6, room was very hot and took more than 2 hours to cool down. Hot water was luke warm and room was very small. Beds were not horrible and room was clean. Other guests were sketchy but that's too be expected. Staff was courteous and helpful. Hardly worth the $70 we paid. Barely worth $35.

Very good accommodation for the cheap price. The only con was WI-Fi not working. It connects, but cannot surf the web nor check email. Poor cellular signal for T-Mobile phones, but room is clean, bathroom have enough space and TV channels were good. Fast check-in and check-out. I recommend Motel 6.

For the price ($57 for a double queen bed room), I was surprised at how nice the room was. The bathroom was fairly spacious, the beds were decent, and there's a desk to get some work done. Also included are a minifridge and microwave. The front desk lady was also quite accommodating and let my group of 3 check in early after a long, relatively sleepless night beforehand, so instant points in my book!

The staff was great. Coming back from a long day out in the field to an open door and construction workers in my room was an unpleasant surprise. I was located in a downstairs room with a very loud large family residing upstairs. Not much sleep that night! Other "guests" just seemed off, as if they were living there. If this is a residential type place, I would have liked to have known that. Did not feel very safe, and that is not common for me.

Clean rooms, and I like the vinyl flooring, you don't have to worry what's buried in the carpet, Wi-Fi could be a little faster but since that is my only complaint, this is a great place to stay especially for the price, oh yeah and they don't charge a pet fee, very happy!

It's may 20th, 85 degrees and the pool isn't open for the season? My non smoking room smells like smoke and you can feel all the springs in the bed. Only thing I cable compliment is the nice floors and cable tv.

No charge for pets. That's truly pet friendly! Bathroom could have been cleaner but what do you want for 40 bucks?!

The room was clean and the beds were cozy. The Wi-Fi was slow, but the lack of internet allowed me to sleep longer and better.

I stayed here for 5 days in December 2015 & had a very nice stay. My room was very clean, comfortable bed, room had updated furnishings. The motel is in a nice area & I felt completely safe. The motel itself was well-kept and the grounds and surrounding areas were clean. I thought the staff were all very nice. I never noticed any excessive noise or questionable people hanging around. I had 3 big dogs with me, so it was so nice to have a place to stay where they don't want to charge you extra per dog, per day. (My room also had newer vinyl flooring, which I think is much more sanitary than carpeting & I didn't have to worry about fleas or other yucky things lurking in decades old carpeting. )

Basic bed to sleep for one night, unplugged the refrigerator because of the noise. Heater was loud. Okay for one night on the road.

BED BUGS** room 210! After driving for about 12hrs. Decided to take a break and get a room for the night. Room seemed clean and ok. Sadly I got woken up in the middle of the night with BED BUGS all over the bed. I decided to check out right away. Found another one right around the corner. I'm still dealing with the bug bites. Worst motel 6 stayed in. Wouldn't recommend at all You're better off paying a little extra for more decent and comfy stay.

Over the years and even before I retired I have stayed at Motel Sixes. The rooms are always clean, the rates are affordable, my AARP card extends a discount. It always pays to reserve a room ahead but on my last recent stay in Alamogordo, I popped in around 8 pm and was checked in speedily, the reservation clerk very friendly and efficient. I always tell friends I stay at Motel 6 and find the accommodations very affordable. I have a Motel 6 directory published about two years ago and it is getting very worn. Was told they don't publish them any longer which is too bad new as new locations are always on the horizon as I noticed there is a new Motel 6 in Lordsburg, which is a pretty small town.

I come to White Sands National Monument to lead a Photo Workshop every year… I've been staying at this Motel 6 in Alamogordo for over 8 years. It is usually just right, nothing fancy but adequate. While the staff is always very nice, this year the motel was dirtier, noisier and filled with more residents then guests. I was a bit creeped out at times, especially when I heard someone throw glass against the hallway wall. I didn't feel safe like I usually have in the past. Also, the place is way too smokey. It seems all the employees do is stand around at the front door and in the hallways and smoke. Even my NON SMOKING room smelled like smoke… not ok with me! The least the hotel could do is have a designated area for the employees to go smoke… not ALL guests are smokers and it is just plain gross! The room was dirty… the floors sandy and messy… details were not attended to. Next time I will stay across the street at the Fairfield Inn… yes, it's pricier but it's hasn't turned into an "apt complex" and is MUCH cleaner… sorry M6… you lost me! This Motel 6 needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt with a NEW Motel 6… it is old, broken down and in desperate need of maintenance… you can turn the light off, I won't be coming back to this M6. Thanks!

As someone who travels thru here about once a month I couldn't recommend this hotel. The only positive is price but nothing else. Small room, thin sheets, hard bed. Over all outdated. .

BEDBUGS Room 119. I stayed in this room twice over two weeks late November and early December 2014. The second time I found a bud bug in the room. I'm sure I didn't bring them. I reported it, got a refund, and left. I don't know if they closed off the room and surrounding rooms to deal with the bugs. I hope so. This location is independently owned, so the national Motel 6 franchise couldn't do anything about it. It's a bummer because the place was clean and nice otherwise, but the bed bugs have ruined it for me.

I QUITE enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are nice, the staff are friendly and ON IT, and the free Wi-Fi is blazing-fast. Refreshing.

I stayed during October 25-27. Melissa at the front desk made the stay exceptional. She was informative about places to go and most of all authentic about it all.

As always it was a decent place to stay for the money, clean and quite. But when you check in they will tell you if you bring your receipt to Golden Corral next door that you'll get a discount, DON'T DO IT. I got a terrible case of food poisoning from there so I spent more time in the bathroom than I did the bed. I would stay at this location again but just not eat at GC.

Room appears clean but don't look behind or under the furniture. It hasn't been cleaned there in a long time. Water from a/c saturated carpet under the window and no one dealt with it. Keys were cancelled after the first day and wake up call didn't happen one day.
