Parking, by valet and very expensive, isn't always possible due to the central location. If you are driving, there is no guarantee you will be able to have anywhere to park. 2 other Marriott properties are within 2 blocks, with their own parking and much nicer properties. Don't choose this one.

Great place to stay! Everyone was super accommodating and friendly!

Epic location, walking distance from the train station. Room had a view of City Hall just across the street. Unfortunately, the square is also extremely echo-y, causing the sounds of loud cars to be heard all around and for several blocks away. The room was extremely sizeable with a decent living and dining area for 2. The bathroom, however, left a lot to be desired, with barely room for half shower door. Air circulation was also limited (perhaps time limited), and I woke up congested at least once per night. Breakfast was surprisingly decent, and I am glad I splurged on one of their awesome biscuits. Staff all around was extremely courteous, and professional. They did everything they could to help make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Our suite was very nice. The bed was comfortable. We love the full kitchen in residence inns. Ordering "room service" from Chili's was expensive, but it was really delicious when we were worn out after a long day. The staff was really accommodating and quick to deliver extra linens for our extra roommate.

Had a good experience here. Staff was friendly. Great central location. Walking distance to all of the tourist attractions in center city. The elevator requires a room key as well so no one can wander in that doesn’t have a room here, which I liked. Of note: I booked 2 queen beds, but they gave me one queen. They are finishing up a remodel and had some confusion with bed options so I would double check your booking. They made up for it by upgrading us to a king bed. Overall satisfied with customer service; just something to consider.

This hotel is beautiful! It’s well positioned in center city. It’s great walking distance to a spectacular market and other shopping experiences and eateries. We only stayed one night but we were well attended by the gracious staff. The valet is worth the cost, you have the ability to come in and out, you just have to give them a 30 minutes notice. Which was more than reasonable and made getting to and from our event. Great experience and we will be back.

Stayed here for work. Great location with close up view of City Hall. Full Breakfast included was well done. Security downstairs (after hours) was good — entry via room card from vestibule. Security on elevators was a little confusing, as each seemed to work a little differently. Staff friendly and accommodating. Easy to get to lots of Philly sights by walking.

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HoteIRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… They had plastic plates and utensils at breakfast. I was charged $10 more for the second night, without explanation. The elevator would not let you select your floor after you insert your card key. Another thing; there are a lot of homeless people in the area and in front of the hotel. I genuinely feel sorry for them, but I have to say I did not feel safe just standing in front of the hotel's main entrance. The room itself was pretty nice and the staff was professional and friendly.

The room was very aesthetically pleasing. I had a little corner room and I loved the look of being tucked into a corner. I didn't hear much noise, especially since my room was off the beaten path. The bed was normal hotel quality, I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was nothing like home. The main light switch didn't work, which was annoying. I had to fumble around in the dark to get to another light. Had I been staying longer than one night, that would have been irritating. As it was, I didn't mention it to hotel staff. They hold your bags for you at no cost as well if you want to check out and still explore the city. Parking is always a nightmare in the city, if you want to park in the hotel's lot it's $55. Also, the lot right behind the hotel is NOT the hotel's parking lot so be careful. I chose to park at the Convention Center and make the short walk over. They offer a free hot breakfast but I slept too late to go so I can't say if it was a good selection or not. Staff was friendly and capable.

The hotel is in a great location just steps from the Convention Center and Restaurants. The building itself is old but inside it is very well maintained. The common areas and the rooms are clean. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The television works very well and accommodates many cable channels and the air conditioning is effective. On the downside, it doesn’t have a restaurant on the property. This hotel also has a pet policy which is surprising because Residence Inn Marriots usually accept pets without question.

Hotel was very clean, room was nice. Only wish it had snack/soda machines and on the floor. Also an ice machine would be nice as we only stayed one night. Did not have time to freeze our own cubes. Easy access 24 hour secured parking lot at 1301 Market — $36/24 hours, and about 1 minute walk to hotel.

I had a great experience at the Residence Inn. The location in Philadelphia is perfect for accessing all the tourest locations and good eats through out the downtown area. The staff and hotel experience were been accommodating, and I enjoyed the clean newly renovated rooms. While I would recommend this hotel, I would also make sure to review prices at the other 2 Marriotts that sit 100 feet away from this one.

I stayed here for a week long conference while in Philly and was genuinely impressed. The hotel staff was friendly. Continental breakfast was always hot and delicious. Additionally the front desk was more than willing to replace a lost swipe card free of charge. The pull-out sofa bed was the comfiest I have ever slept on. It was extremely convenient how close this hotel was to the conference center, no more than a five-minute walk.

Very convenient location. Nice sized clean rooms. (We were upgraded to the top floor, so I can't comment about the quality of other rooms. )

What a great place to stay! I have been to many hotels in the Philadelphia area and even though some are more expensive than others, this hotel has everything from them for an affordable price. From the moment we got there we were greeted by a nice lady at the front desk. We asked if we could check in earlier and she accommodated us right away. The room was beautiful, clean, spacious, and with an amazing view of City Hall. It had everything we needed, kitchen, utensils, glassware, pots and pans, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc. I was able to cook a nice meal, and felt right at home. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.

Great location, clean rooms and common areas. Room had frig/microwave, toaster and dishes and plenty if counter space too. Well appointed and there was even a bag of microwave popcorn if you wanted it!. Free breakfast and great view from that dining room! Located across from Macy's and City Hall. Dunkin donuts on corner and 7-11 next door. Reading Terminal less than two blocks away. Will definitely stay here sometime again. Staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Note — the parking was $15 more here than the self parking at garage one block away.

This is one of the best places to stay in the city for a somewhat reasonable price (for a single). Even if you live locally, go as a couple and then go out on a date without worrying about travel, kids, etc. You definitely want to stay 6th floor or above, and ask if they have any corner rooms available. It's give you a priceless view.

I didn't stay the night but just popped in to visit a friend but the hotel was very nice. It's in an amazing part of the city across the street from city hall with this huge clock tower and a bunch of shops and restaurants everywhere. Very swanky!

Nice location, clean rooms, I got the corner room so it had a living area, a king size bed and beautiful view. I recommend going higher than than the 5th floor to get an even better view. Foyer needs some work. Hanging out lounge is really nice, breakfast included.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel doesn't have that new fresh feel and needs some upgrades. Simple small things, for example, like the curved shower rods in older tub designs would make a difference. Still, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Great location and, again, great staff.

Loved staying at this hotel. The location can't be beat. It was across the street from city hall and within walking distance to the convention center.

Nice place with great comfy beds and a fantastic location. Breakfast is fine and a great idea with a free beer and light dinner option. Had a big Philly Cheese Steak for lunch so the light dinner went down well. Highly recommended.

The location is great. I can walk to everything I need from, different restaurants, shopping, and even a drug store. The room is a little smaller than I expected, but it looks and feels comfortable. The service is great. The staff gave me excellent places to go eat at and their willingness to help is great.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. The free breakfast and ability to prepare food in your room can save money and sanity for anyone who spends a lot of time on the road. The only minor complaint I have is the speed/availability of the elevators. At busy times, you might wait several minutes for an elevator to come.

The hotel is very convenient to a lot of Philadelphia. The price was great, and the amenities were wonderful. Very friendly staff and clean room. Our AC didn't get the room super cool, but not annoying enough to ask for a different room. Breakfast buffet was typical, but well stocked and maintained.

Clean rooms, approachable and helpful front desk staff. Very concurrently located in center city right next to city hall. Only two real complaints. Elevators did take quite a long time to get called. And valley staff took forever as they wetter took busy socializing with other staff members. It would have been nice if someone helped with luggage, as I struggled with luggage an umbrella and my 3 yr old daughter when it was pouring rain as I was trying to get out if my car and check in. No one from the valley offered to help our take my car keys. I had to have someone from the front desk track down someone from valley to give me a ticket sub. And they charge 54 a day for this service! Picking up the car was no better either. Called down 30 minutes prior like I was told too, still no car. When the car arrive valet walked right by us as we walked up to the car with our luggage. Just rude and careless employees.

Great location in City Center. A few blocks from amazing food choices and decent shopping. Rooms are set up in Suite style with kitchen and living room. Room was comfortable and spacious. Great place for a longer stay.

Hotel is a bit older. The location is nice as it is in the middle of the city. Rooms are very spacious. We got the two room suite and we were very comfortable. Breakfast experience was nice, very good service and nice lounge area. Overall, I'd give it the hotel a 5.5/10. Middle of the road. Not great but definitely not bad.

We had drinks and a bite to eat at the Residence Inn in Penn Square. The drinks were great, but the food was just OK; the flavor could have been better. The service was friendly and efficient.

The beds were comfortable, and the room was very clean. For a large room, the bathroom area was pretty small, so multiple people couldn't really use the sink or counter at once. There was a well-equipped kitchen in the room. We liked the location, and it was really easy to walk to bars at night and parks in the day.

We were there a week ago. The hotel location was great. The accommodations were comfortable. Our studio room was spacious. The full hot breakfast was outstanding and the staff were very nice. Only gave four stars instead of 5 because of the Parking/Valet situation. $51. A night for parking is a bit much, with no discounts to Rewards Members. There were two valet services, one for Residence Inn and one for a nearby Courtyard. It was confusing as to which one we were using when we arrived. We later found out that we had used the one for Courtyard instead of Residence Inn. And, upon check out retrieval, they forgot to get our car although we called ahead. This lengthened our wait time.

Rooms are clean and location is excellent. Service was prompt and staff were warm and welcoming. I would love to come back on vacation and stay at this location while I sight see.

Hotel is convenient to the convention center and Reading Terminal, across from city hall. Valet parking is convenient, but expensive. Hotel is clean, but old. Appliances are old. Room layout is inconvenient for four guests. Sleeper sofa is in separate front room, but can only get access to bathroom through main bedroom. Both King bed and sofa bed were old with little support and tendency to slump to center. Down comforter was wonderful. Staff was nice and accomdating. Breakfast is included and basic with hot options.

Centrally located conveniently just in front of the City Hall. One bed suite and studio rooms have lots of room for a city centered hotel. Hot breakfast in included with plenty of variety to chose from.

The room itself was like a little apartment and was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the view was not bad. The staff at the front desk were kind of rude and not very friendly. Our hallway smelled like marijuana very heavily. A random man came and banged on the door at 2 am and scared the daylights out of my wife. We heard lots of random noise all throughout the night. Otherwise it was a fairly nice place with an excellent location.

Pros: nice location, nice front desk help, prompt room service request. Cons: The sheets were stained and the bathroom was rusting. Given that, it's probably over priced, but it's hard to beat that central location. Step out to face City Hall and cross the street to jump into the train station. Walk right around the corner to a seemingly endless supply of bars, eateries and shopping.

Definitely sub-par for a Marriott. Everything is old and broken. Many reviews here discussed bed bugs. I didn't have any bed bug issues but I was concerned there was no covers protecting the mattresses, just sheets. Bedbugs could move in at any time. I noticed a stain on my sheets. It didn't bother me because it wasn't on the part I was sleeping on but it stayed there for multiple days which means they never changed the sheets! I'm also fairly confident that they were taking the towels I left on the bathroom floor and putting them back on the racks instead of changing them. On the plus side the staff was very friendly but for the money I would never stay here again.

The worst hotel ever. The beds are full of bedbugs. I have bites all over my body. Avoid it.

Very professional yet warm and approachable. Kudos Kelly! Janet the housekeeper on the 18th floor is a real gem who was also very friendly and accommodating. A nice lady and hard worker. Overall a lovely hotel with great personnel. It's also very quiet. No street noise or hall noise. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this Residence Inn last weekend (April 17th and 18th) and were upgraded to one of the converted rooms on the 26th floor. You have to take an elevator up to the 25th floor and then a separate one to the 26th, but that's a minor inconvenience at most. The 26th floor apparently used to be a penthouse, but they remodeled it to include a few rooms that don't include stoves, but still have a refrigerator and microwave. We weren't doing any cooking, so that was not a negative for us. The room had great high ceilings and an awesome view of downtown Philadelphia. We had a king size bed, which was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were awful and we requested feather instead. That made a huge difference and I recommend anyone staying do the same. They brought them up to us within 5 minutes of our request. Our only complaints were with the bathroom and the air conditioning. In regards to the bathroom, the tile work was well done and sink was modern. The toilet didn't have a lid, which was a little odd, but not a huge issue. The baseboard heater was on for some reason when we got to the room and had no way to turn it off, so we had maintenance take care of that. It was far too warm outside to still be running a heater. Our biggest complaint was with the shower. For such a modern design, the shower head was tiny and under-powered. It also had some of the most intermittent hot water I've ever experienced in a hotel.

I came for a week long conference and thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The staff were always friendly and gave great recommendation on places to eat and drink — and helped me find a place that serves beer on nitro! My room was always clean. The extended stay functionality was great. Breakfast was impressive! And they even were kind enough to mail me something I forgot in my room after I left.

I enjoyed my stay here over a weekend I came to attend the Pour the Core festival the staff was friendly, the lounge area was cozy and breakfast was delicious. The room was very spacious equipped with a mini kitchenette, flat screen TVs, refrigerator etc. I would definitely recommend and come back here.

Stayed for a weekend to see a concert and enjoy the city. Check in was easy and rooms were good, although might be time for some renovations. Breakfast was great and there are a few places nearby for lunch dinner. My only complaint was car valet, returned from a concert and waited 45 minutes for valet and nothing. Staff at front desk were helpful and ended up taking the car key and finally had somebody take care of the car. All in all a good experience.

Hotel is really at great location but par below to residency inn standard. Guest room amenities are very old. Look like Hotel did not have renovation done since its inception. I have stayed in may residency inn and this was worst.

On january 1 I arrived for a 2 night stay. Snow arrived and I needed to delay leaving 1 day. Kelly R was on front desk the day of arrival and for the next 3 days she so nicely took care of everything. Even forgetting the snow aspect, Kelly was great at her job. Her warm smile and professional treatment was just what everyone should experience upon checking into a hotel. Checking in. First impression. Lasting impression. I come to philly to visit my daughter and often stay at either the courtyard or residence inn. I will be back. I too work a retail, people servicing job and felt I wanted to leave a positive feedback. Thank you. Joann laflamme.

I really loved my stay here. They offer a nice lounge area which has great coffee options. Free breakfast that is so yummy, with a lot of options. They have a waffle maker with fixins. Grits with cheese on the side (which I did not expect but was so happy that they had it). The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are filled with the works, refrigerator, stove, microwave. Lovely flat screen TV as well. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel on and off for over 15 nights over a few weeks. The first problem I had was I experienced extreme rudeness from the woman at the front desk. It was a nasty episode that was handled extremely poorly by management. That, however, paled extremely in comparison to my last few days there. I had a significant bedbug problem. I ended up with a series of bites on my leg and a manager that tried to deceive me, hush up my concerns and treat me like I was paranoid. He told me they had their bug service check the room once while I was out of the room. That was a lie. They didnt even change the sheets for me, which I discovered when I returned at 4AM after a long day / night of work. The next night there were additional bug problems. I pressed the issue and was treated as if I was being paranoid. If I t were not for my insistence, it all would have been swept under the rug for the next unsuspecting guest. I ultimately got a call several hours after I checked out that they did indeed find adult bedbugs in my room and that I should throw away my luggage and dry clean everything I had. Both the management at this hotel and marriott management in general were horrible in the way they handled this! I would never stay there again.
