Reviews of Loews Philadelphia Hotel 4*
It was great! Clean, huge rooms, comfy beds.
Nice facility centrally located.
Well renovated & accommodating!
Really spiffy hotel. Our party was on the 33rd floor.
5star amazing hotel totally recommend to family and friends.
I am having the most wonderful time at the Loews! The room is beautiful, the view is spectacular, and the bed is super comfy! Also it’s very clean which I appreciate during these pandemic times. The staff so far has been so friendly and it’s a very secure hotel I can safely say that this is my new favorite hotel!
This is a two star hotel masquerading as a premium branded place. We came in with our two kids for a two Queen room. We were told we were upgraded to a presidential king suite, so we didn’t question the bed situation because of the implication. That just meant a one king bed small room on the 32nd floor. We just had to cram cots in the tiny room as it was too late to sort out a different room. The receptionist should have known better or at least explained what we were getting. The lobby bar had the worst service. The waitress came out initially to my wife, who asked to wait a few minutes for me to arrive. Waitress never came back after that. There isn’t anything special about the room and it’s about the same you’d get from a Holiday Inn. There is a noisy hum to the room from the air handling system, the walls are thin, and street noise is a problem. The room was incredibly dry. The view and spa are nice though. Don’t waste your money by paying a premium price for a two star experience.
The staff were exceptional. Friendly, very pleasant and extremely helpful.
Good location. Nice staff. Clean.
I highly recommend the Loews the room are extremely clean and I had a direct view of the entire city from the 30th floor. The fitness center was amazing equipped like a regular gym. Amazing for a Hotel. Excellent staff. I certainly will stay here again.
When I checked in the clerk at the desk was rude. They only have a whiskey bar and they only clean your room upon request.
Beautiful view, comfy beds, great location.
Thank you for a great stay! we are leaving tomorrow and have to say goodbye, but we will be back soon! everything was wonderful, clean, comfortable and the location was perfect. A wonderful getaway and shoutout to temple law school class of 2021!
We had a fantastic stay. The staff all went above and beyond. Super nice service.
A favorite spot for us. We love staying here with our pup.
Nice hotel in a great location. Hotel lobby was really nice, room was fine. Bed was really comfortable. I felt like it was a little pricey for what it was. Parking is incredibly expensive. There is a mini fridge but you can't use it as it is full of the mini bar. A lot of big tourist attractions are within walking distance and it was easy to find cheaper parking in the city lots in the near vicinity.
We reserved a king size bed. When we walked in our room and saw the queen we called immediately and were told it's treated as a preference. The room had so many issues from curtains not closing, dirty vents above the bed, leaking faucets to a shower that leaked every time because it was missing a seal. A few more issues but on the positive side the location is great. PS… plan to spend $50/day on parking as well as incidental fees upon checking in. If you don't use any fees they refund back but it takes days for the transfer. Not cool. Staff was attentive enough upon request.
I really liked this hotel. Excellent customer service — between room service and housekeeping, we dealt with about 10 different employees. Each one of them was helpful and friendly. Workout room is functional and equipped. Wish the pool could actually be restricted to laps (full of kids). Otherwise, not complaints.
This hotel was very conveniently located to all the things my husband and I needed to do in Philly during our last visit there. Close to many historical sites, some live music venues, our friend's art gallery, shopping, and great food. The doormen were always on top of their game, never missed a beat. I felt looked after and safe. It was really easy to get a taxi or rideshare to-and-from the hotel. Inside, the lobby was comfortable where I found a mix of tourists and business people. The front desk and concierge were all smiles (which is so appreciated! ) and ever-helpful. I really felt like I was a regular treated with such kindness and respect, and that they recognized me. The elevators were quick and in good working condition. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view of the boulevard. Though it was humid and hot outside, it was nice and cool inside. I appreciated that the desk working area was large and plentiful. And I always appreciate hotel rooms where electrical outlets are placed thoughtfully. I would definitely stay here again!
I visited Bank & Bourbon for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant was immaculate and the food was scrumptious. Such a variety! The pancakes were some of the best I've had and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The fruit was ultra fresh. Everything was clean and well presented. The restrooms were in tip top shape also! I will be dining there again!
Arrived early around 11, a room was ready shortly after even though it had been a busy holiday weekend. We were out for lunch and were sent a text message to let us know! Parking was easy and the concierge happily held our bags. The room was clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful!
Historic Place well located modern. Very good service spacious rooms.
Excellent Customer Service and great rooms! Daniel received us at the front desk with great vibes to assist in everything we asked. We also met Hakeem later in the evening, and I’ll just say that I could easily become his best friend in 5 seconds. Whoever is hiring here is doing a very good job!
Wife and I stayed one night for our anniversary. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. My favorite part was the view (were were up on a pretty high floor)! Bed was comfy, room was clean and quiet. Up to date modern decor. Would love to come stay again in the future.
I went to the Bank and Bourbon restaurant attached to the Loews hotel. It was a great experience all around! The food was excellent! We tried appetizers, the NY steak entree, and a side. It has been the best meal I have had in Philadelphia! My only hesitation is the price of wine/alcohol. $42 for a bottle of 14 hands is way over priced (I ended up getting a Malbec). I highly recommend this place. Just make sure you're going in with an explanation to pay a lot for a good time and food.
Staying at Loews was a great experience. Rooms were clean, spacious and with a great modern style. The view from the 33rd floor was the best and I used their lounge to meditate at night. Breathtaking views and great staff. Only thing I was a bit disappointed was the bathrooms in the first floor were locked and were only open for people with the cards for the hotel. Meaning when I was at the restaurant I had to go all the way back to my bag to get my key card to open the door for the bathroom. Don’t mind me, I’m a “access to bathrooms for everyone” type of girl. Other than that, everything was great. Location, cleanliness and space.
Loved our stay! My husband and I spent our 9 year anniversary here last night. When we arrived, we told Mannie that this was our anniversary and he upgraded it room from the 19th floor to the 31st floor with a beautiful view of the city!, And gave us some local (not touristy) spots to go. We ordered room service at 2am, with no high quality expectations given the time and past experiences, but our Philly cheese steak and Angus burger were awesome! Even the fries were great. We also ordered breakfast for the morning. My husband and I agreed that this was the best quality and presented breakfast we have had at any hotel. My husband is very critical of our hotel experiences and could not find a thing wrong. Thank you so much to the staff for making this a memorable anniversary!
The rooms are very well kept and comfortable. The hotel staff are very nice and make us welcome. The concierge are knowledgeable and offer all the information you need. They have upgraded the entryway and added a cafe area with baked goods and beverages which is separate from the hotel restaurant. And how many hotels have a safe door (former bank) in their lobby? A great place to stay with lots of personality.
Went down for the Eagles parade and was looking for a place to get warm and have breakfast before the parade. This place was great. A nice welcoming atmosphere considering the mob that descended on the city. Great service and the breakfast buffet was great. I have stayed here in the past as well and I was never disappointed. These guys do a great job.
We recently (December 2017) used Loews Hotel Philadelphia for our wedding block. Working with the staff at Loews was extremely easy, and made planning the wedding a lot easier. I would absolutely recommend using Loews for your wedding block, or any large group. We had over 50 rooms blocked, and it was all a breeze. The staff was always open to answer questions, and were very prompt to help us with any needs. The accommodations were amazing, AND they had some nice surprises in our room waiting for us (bride and groom) when we got back from our wedding reception.
This post is long overdue — Around last Christmas my husband and I stayed here and had the best time! The staff was more than accommodating and payed attention to all the details. We only spent one night there, but I remember the accommodations, beautiful rooms with views, hotel bar and lounge, delicious restaurant and friendly staff well. Now every time I travel I look into staying at a Loews Hotel again hoping to recapture that experience. All around 5/5 Stars!
I spent 4 nights here. The hotel is in a reformed art deco bank building. The bank safe is in the lobby. The building retains many of the features of an old office building which works and adds some charm. The old mail slots are on every floor. The room we had was large and comfortable. The only drawback was that for our room, the cleaning staff came very late in the day. We were back recovering from seeing Philadelphia so they never made the room since it was occupied. The restaurant and bar are both well-staffed and the drinks and food were above average. I would stay again.
I was meeting fellow teachers to watch our students in the dance convention being held there. Every room was clean and well maintained. There were no full trash bins. And every employee we encountered was very friendly.
Nice room. Nice restaurant. One thing I did not like was having to pay for parking even though we were staying as guest there, but I guess that's how the whole area is around there. It is a great location. Great view of the city.
Nice hotel, very nice room accommodation. Only had to wait for an elevator for a long time once over 5 days while staying on the 29th floor. Gym was surprisingly well equipped. Room service burger was perfectly cooked medium rare and tasty. My only complaint would be the lack of a small fridge to store leftover food in the room. Rather than that there is a refrigerated unit with drinks that are on sensors to detect if they've been taken.
Very nice, modern-looking room, the one with 2 queen beds. Wide area beside the beds where there was a good sized table for work or eating. Arriving there was pleasant: quick valet parking and concierge were also as pleasant, helpful, and polite. Leaving, however, wasn't as perfect. Not a very big deal, but the bellman took too long with our cart (about 30 minutes) and we were in a hurry so we did our best to gather up all of our things and left. Other than that, the location is convenient and the hotel itself had pleasant amenities.
Rooms were large, well-appointed and quiet. Front desk was friendly and accommodating. We were in town for the Philadelphia Marathon, and even though my husband finished after check out time (I checked us out while he was running) they still let him use the locker room showers to clean up after the race. Definitely went above and beyond.
Great! Would come again. Stayed overnight on a Thursday in November 2017. Service was nice — I tried to check in early at 7am (no dice, but a long shot anyway) and the front desk put me in the queue for the first room available and kept me updated via text message. The room itself was nice, clean, and modern. The hallways were just a bit confusing but I didn't spend much time reading signs. Overall, excellent experience and would happily stay again.
All the staff are very considerate and friendly. Rooms are nice (need a refrigerator though). Location is convenient to everything. Get a room in a higher floor for a better the view. They have plenty of elevators.
I came here a few times over a few days for drinks and once for an event. The restaurant/bar on the ground floor was great with nice decor. It's super close to the metro center so you can get to it very easily by train. It's also close to the convention center so it's a nice option for when you want to get a change of scene. I went to a ballroom on the 3rd floor for an event. It was a decent space but what stood out the most was the prompt service and professionalism. They were great. I didn't stay so I can't speak to anything else but from my limited experience I would consider visiting again and staying.
The Loews hotel chain has to be the worse in the market. I booked a reservation with this hotel in the city of Philadelphia last Wednesday evening and they did not honor my two room reservations. First, they claimed they tried to call all customers earlier in the day that the hotel was oversold but of course I never received a call and then they could not find my reservation. Ultimately, they found the reservation and a manager named Mark, let's me know sorry there is nothing we can do but the hotel is over booked. Mind you it is 1:00 am in the morning as I was traveling from a late flight from LA, so I was beyond frustrated. The hotel attempts to move me into a different hotel 10 minutes away that was roach infested and not the same level, criteria or rating. I will not book with the Loews again, as they do not honor their reservations and have horrible customer service. Lastly, they had the nerve to charge my credit card for the rooms… smh A disgusting and poorly run hotel chain. Stay away!
My wife and I have made the Loews Philadelphia Hotel our anniversary tradition. We love it! The staff is always awesome and the location is ideal. They upgrade our room and send us complementary goodies for our anniversary! The bed is ridiculously comfortable and the shower is perfect. For a mom of three boys (12, 2 and 9 months) it's the perfect place for the hubby and I to relax and enjoy. We had lunch and drinks at the bar. The food, drinks and service was great. We even had breakfast and the restaurant. My wife loved the steak and eggs and the pancakes made my day! We most definitely will be back need year!
It's a great place when budget is of no concern. The staff is friendly and the quality is excellent. It's a pretty tall building so it affords gorgeous views if you're able to stay on a high story.
The staff is pretty positive. This hotel is a very well located. A significant issue in the hotel is that the doors are quite loud when they're left to close on their own. They need to upgrade it for quiet shutting. This has been especially bad as there are people on my floor who are opening the door multiple times and very short span of time and letting it slam.
I have enjoyed my stay so far. The rooms are clean and the convention hall is easy to navigate. It's nice to be so close to Chinatown when it's time for dinner!
Awesome place to stay. Right in the middle of what I can only guess is downtown Philly everyone was so courteous and accommodating from the valet to housekeeping. I really can't wait to return.
Beautiful building and nice rooms. Was visiting another guest and did not interact directly with the staff but there seemed to be plenty of staff ready on hand. Have enjoyed the on sight restaurant (Bank and Bourbon) and have enjoyed it. It can be a bit noisy but food was great. Location is also huge plus. Short distance to historic district and museums. Would easily suggest the location to friends and family.
It is in the center of the downtown. So almost everything is conveniently close. The lobby feels nice and upscale. In the evening, you can get a drink at the bar. Room was neat and clean too.
We loved our experience at this hotel! The front desk staff was super helpful and friendly, the doormen and valet were always kind and offered us assistance and directions every time we left the hotel. Everyone was friendly, the views were incredible, and this hotel is CLEAN. I also loved that there were plenty of elevators so we never had to wait! We've stayed in hotels of similar size with only two elevators, making traveling with a toddler in a stroller and another child a challenge. The location is also great, super close to the Reading Terminal Market, gorgeous City Hall, right across the street from Hard Rock, and only a few minute drive to Independence Hall. No part of our stay at Loews Philadelphia Hotel was unpleasant. I am hoping I have a reason to stay again.
I love the Loews. Professional and upscale hotel. Great views from some of the rooms. Front desk is super friendly and helpful. Truly 5 star customer service. Bar area is an awesome place to have a drink in a nice setting whether it's a night cap or happy hour.
We stayed over one night for a wedding we had a corner room. Great view and light. Staff was amazing. Everything was good. My only complaint is that the room didn't cool down as much as I would like.
Friendly staff. Parking and breakfast was not free. No fridge available. Just a minibar fridge stocked with overpriced items. Great proximity to everything city has to offer.
The hotel is beautiful, and clean. The location is perfect for going anywhere on the city. The only thing I was change would be keeping the pool open later.
Feels like a high end hotel, but at a great price! Beautiful interior design, comfortable rooms and great customer service! Would definitely recommend.
One of my very favorite hotels — short list. Friendly and accommodating staff. They always know what I want before I do and they always pronounce my difficult last name correctly — a big deal. Comfortable, spacious welcoming rooms. I look forward to coming here every year, it feels like home.
IMPRESSIVE! For the lower price, what you get is awesome. People are super friendly, rooms are nice, everything is super clean, fitness center is awesome, and location is great. Stay here!
The hotel staff is very courteous and the rooms are well kept and well furnished. Great location within walking distance to good restaurants and shopping. My only annoyance with this place is trouble with the room keys. It took me several tries with the front desk before they could provide me with a working key for my room, something I would not have expected a high end hotel to have trouble with.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Great location. Parking is expensive, though.
Had a very enjoyable experience at the bar with my girlfriend. Sat down for a little bit, was served quickly, and my drink was amazing. Def recommend.
Whenever I go to a hotel I love it for the same reason as anyone else — the amenitites. The rooms here are stunning — but unless your 18 or 21, be ready to sit in that room doing nothing while your family takes advantage of what this place has to offer. They let me (16) in the gym one night and the next day I was told I couldn't use any equipment. This was told to me after I had signed in and was ready and dressed to work out. Instead I spent my morning sitting waiting for my family to return to our room. Was beyond mad because I had been able to work out one day and not the next, and at 16 I use my local gym back home anyway. This hotel made me feel like being 16 ment I couldn't handle a treadmill and I found that degrading. The woman who told me I was too young was rude too, and I felt she thought she could do this because I was younger. As I was trying to tell her I was there prior she wouldn't let me speak — just sat there shaking her head and saying "no no no"
Very nice room and amenities. However, the room doors SLAM when people are getting up and leaving. It is impossible to sleep well past 6:30am.
NEVER leave your car in their parking garage! I left my new car there for one day, and they broke it! The car, which I haven't even had for a month yet, somehow had a dead battery, and for over three hours I sat in the garage waiting for the idiots who worked there to get my car to start. I eventually had to get my car towed, and got stuck in Philadelphia for the day. Not only did I get stuck there, but it's $38 a night to leave your car, with a 22.5% tax! Overpriced, and they broke my car. What a great place to stay. Not.
We have always had a wonderful stay each time at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. We have a wedding coming up in Philly this March, and we are more than likely going to stay at Loews again because of the outstanding service and beautiful rooms we have always enjoyed. Thank you, Loews Philadelphia, for always hosting a memorable experience for my boyfriend and myself. We have always thought the world of all of the staff, as well as accommodations. Cheers to another stay very soon!
It was a very good experience. I especially like the bed and hotel workers. I want to see again in the future.
The Loew Philadelphia hotel is a very nice hotel, the room service was exceptional. The only things were that the bathroom was a bit dated.
An excellent hotel experience. Clean, well-decorated room. Comfy bed. Great view. Punctual room service. Classy overall.
Very well maintained rooms and lobby. Bar area is nice too. Only one bellman and luggage cart was available during check in and the elevators were slow.
The Loews is fantastic. Fancy hotel with 24 hour room service, plush rugs in the bathrooms, and a smartphone app to help you manage your stay. The service was awesome as well. Great stay.
Excellent room accommodations that were clean and nicely appointed. First impression was great as Kevin, the door man was extremely courteous and helpful. I would recommend that the owners of Loews does whatever it takes to retain his services as he represented your establishment quite well.
Horrible experience. We were told we were getting a discounted rate on a room for a wedding party of $139.99. We left paying $207.00. There is zero public parking in the area so you are forced to pay $40.00 per day to park! On top of the $40.00 they charge you 22.5% tax on the parking which is insanity, and literally does not make sense. Also, you can enjoy $17.00 glass of champagne from a bottle you can get for $8.00 at a store. Not to mention the bar tenders were on drugs. Never going there again, absolutely awful. If I could of given it zero stars I would have.
It's style is beautiful and runs much deeper than a superficial makeover. Great service, also, is obviously a goal and worked at rather than a platitude. Finally, very comfortable: the bed was GREAT!
We stayed at the Loews Hotel over the weekend and I left my phone in my car. When I went to back to get it from the valet service, my phone had been stolen. The hotel staff said “We’re sorry for the inconvenience. ” and that was all the help they offered. If you stay here and have your belongings stolen, be prepared for no help in finding it or getting it back. “Inconvenience” apparently is having a $600 iphone stolen right out of your car while it was parked in their own hotel garage and still having to pay $48 for parking there.
Confirmed. Great hotel. Awesome view from 33rd floor. Lobby smells fantastic! Awesome military discount. Great location. Standard double room has small beds — they are doubles, not queens. Parking is way overpriced (+$40) so park in the garage down the street for $27 a night.
Had a really nice stay at this hotel during a wedding weekend — friendly staff, sharp decor, clean rooms, comfy beds. It was expensive, sure, but not beyond what I would expect for a Center City hotel as nice as this one was. It's close to basically everything, easily accessible, etc. & we had a great — FREE! — breakfast buffet on the office level on Friday morning. The bridal suite was massive & well-suited to our bridal party's needs, too, & the indoor balcony made for a nice photo op for the bride & groom pre-wedding. Did I mention that the higher-up floors have an incredible view of the city skyline?. Because they do. Pro-tip: Parking is terrible ($I think it was, like, $40 a night valet, or $20 a night at the skeevy lot around the corner? ) so I drove out to Fishtown, parked on a residential street, & took an Uber back to the hotel for the weekend. Definitely worth checking out if you can stomach the prices. Worth it, I say.
I am always impressed by the quality of the service provided by loews. From the moment I arrived the entire hotel staff made certain that my stay was comfortable and totally enjoyable. I will definitely be staying at the loews philadelphia hotel again in the future.
My friends of Italian were there in the hotel and you will taste and say it is very expensive.
Great location downtown and an excellent restaurant/bar in the lobby. That being said, for a modern hotel in a busy city I was disappointed with the inconsistency of the housekeeping staff and even more so with the incredibly slow Wi-Fi. It's 2015! Shouldn't Wi-Fi just be everywhere? While they do offer a "premium" internet service I experienced dial-up speeds after paying an additional $15/day which was definitely not worth the price. I did receive a refund after complaining about the slow speeds but services like this should just work. Motel 6 even has high speed internet. Overall, my stay was decent. I just wish they'd focus more on the little things that can really make or break a guest experience rather than just relying on their convenient downtown location.
I stayed at this hotel during my regional oireachtas for irish dancing. The competitions were at the hotel across the street and all the rooms at that hotel were filled but, Loews was not a compromise. It was a wonderful hotel, the rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating. Would love to stay here again next year for oireachtas and would recommend it for anyone. ☺.
We've stayed here multiple times and never had a bad experience, once for 2014 New Year's too. I was surprised that we got room service so quickly on NYE morning and that it was so good! Rooms are modern and clean.
My entire family and friends stayed last weekend for my wedding and I cannot say enough on everyone's behalf how happy they were. Sabrina Haney with the Loews helped us with our wedding block and she was amazing! We visited the Omni and Monico in Philadelphia but after meeting Sabrina we knew that the Loews was perfect! Sabrina went above and beyond to help us with every stage of the planning, and returned our calls and emails right away! The customer service is out of this world! We will only ever return to the Loews when visiting Philadelphia.
Always good when you know that you are standing in a piece of signature building of Philly. The PFSF! Clean and simple hotel, comfortably enough for a nice stays and just of its perfect location you can grab breakfast every days at the reading terminal market is such a guarantee win.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff. Luxurious and relaxing.
My extended family spent a long weekend here for a wedding and I can honestly say, it was a fabulous experience. They set the bar for hospitality. From check-in to check — out, we had nothing but great experiences. One special shout out about Anthony! The man greeted us genuinely warm and friendly each time we saw him. He is the biggest reason I will consider coming back sometime. The rooms were perfect and the decor was clean and fresh. The common areas were spotless. Like I said, they set the bar for hospitality in Philly.
My personal belongings were stollen from a room by someone of the stuff (either cleening or a plumber), and of coure was never found! this is rediculous! 4* hotel.
We checked in on Friday night for a Saturday wedding at Loews. Dinner at Bank and Bourbon was exceptionally good, our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The wedding was magnificent on Saturday night. But most impressive was the entire staff. They were ALL attentive, polite, warm and friendly — — very hard to provide all of these attributes especially when the hotel was literally sold out! I would not hesitate to recommend Loews to anyone traveling to Philadelphia or anyone local who just wants an overnight getaway.
The Loews location at 12th and Market is great for Center City business travelers. It's near several public transportation (subway and bus) stops, as well as walking distance from 30th Street Station. The rooms are corporate in decor, but large and well laid out, and fitness center is one of the better ones.
