Gorgeous hotel, awesome location, very friendly staff!

We just stayed at the Harbor View Hotel for our honeymoon and it was an incredible experience! We had a little hiccup in our travel plans getting to the island and the general manager went out of his way to even help us with that. Every staff member made us feel like VIP’s. Our room was updated and beautiful. The entire hotel was kept immaculately clean. Their restaurant (Battini) hosts an amazing breakfast and dinner service. We are already making plans to go back!

Incredible hotel with a friendly staff! Bettini Restaurant is a restaurant not to be missed when visiting Martha’s Vineyard! The rooms are great and the courtesy cars make for a great stay!

Edgartown is so quaint in the off season and Black Friday shopping is the best! Our room at the Harbor View is warm and cozy!

We stayed at the Harbor View Hotel in the fall and it was amazing. We celebrated our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. We were in walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars. The lighthouse across the street is beautiful to look at and it was a nice area to walk around and enjoy the scenery. The room was beautiful and spacious and the restaurant, Bettini, had delicious food and excellent service. I highly recommend the Harbor View Hotel.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend 4 days here for our honeymoon! The hotel is beautiful, the staff is so friendly and helpful and the restaurant is incredible! We were elated with our daily service, food and all amenities! The pool is so fresh and clean and the pool bar has ice cold drinks that are so refreshing on a hot day! Everyone was phenomenal and so helpful!
We appreciate every single person we came in contact with and cannot wait to come back ASAP! :) ) )

Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place. The staff is awesome, the settings is very relaxing and romantic… you feel it’s right out of a movie!
This is our second time here and 3 weeks and loved it so much we booked our 2021 wedding here!

We recently stayed here for a week, it was excellent! The Roxana building was great and if you have a odd numbered room you overlook the pool! Carlos and Mike at the front desk made our stay much better by assisting us in pool reservations and making sure our stay was wonderful! This hotel is the best on the island. Loved the saltwater pool, pool bar, harbor views, restaurant, veranda and proximity to town!

Beautiful, amazingly helpful staff, dog friendly, and a pool with waitstaff and bar! Plus free bicycles to ride around town. The view of Edgartown Harbor is stunning. Perfect location.

As always the Harbor View was beyond fabulous. We have stayed here many times over the years so we were curious how the renovations impacted our fondness for the hotel. We were so pleased that hotel maintained everything we loved: character, warmth, casual elegance and charm, while enhancing everything else. The new restaurant and bar provided ambience and amazing food, and our room was lovely and comfortable. The staff was superb (thank you Bridget! ). We are already looking forward to our next stay at the Harbor View!

Food was great, but my husband had the world’s smallest piece of cod. Also felt very rushed. Appetizers came out within minutes and different wait staff asked me 3 times if I was finished… I wasn’t. Bill also came quickly. If we were trying to catch a ferry it would have been great, but as this was our only Saturday evening activity, didn’t really want to do dinner in under 45 minutes. As I said, food was really good, but I would have liked to relax with my $25 glass of wine.

My only criticism is that you can get something to go and eat by the pool and movies should be made available specially when it’s a rainy day and there’s nothing to watch on tv.

My wife and I stayed here June 12th — 15th to celebrate our 35th anniversary and we loved it! Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was beautifully renovated and the complimentary use of the Mercedes is a nice touch. Scenic views and close to downtown. Would definitely recommend staying here!

I attended a luncheon fundraiser here. Beautiful location, view, venue, and grounds. Was pleased to learn that they intend to do some upgrades to accommodate more attendees. I realize that they must depend desperately on seasonal staff when I requested coffee 4 times, and still didnt receive it. Overall, an excellent venue in a landmark hotel.

This hotel was so disappointing. If you like outdated dirty rooms, 80 percent humidity, damp stiff sheets, the smell of mold, and a TV that only televises snow then this is the place to stay. When we walked into our room the smell of mold nearly knocked us off our feet. Tried to air out the room by opening the slider to our room, however, the stench was no better out there. We looked up and saw black mold all over the eve overhanging the patio. We called down to the front desk for a dehumidifier and shockingly they had one. They brought it up along with a fan and also sent up a technician to fix our TV. He was able to fix the TV and the dehumidifier did work well. Although my son ended up dumping the water 3 times in about 4 hours. With that said, the staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. Darlene in Conceirge was so incredibly nice and attentive. She wanted to make sure our stay would be fun and booked us a full island tour with an awesome tour guide, Bob, with 2 days notice that we were coming. The tour was great and afterwards we went to the pool which was really nice. The views from the front of the hotel are gorgeous and the location is perfect. Leaving the hotel, we were told it would undergo a renovation this winter so I would suggest staying away until that's complete.

Hotel was clean, front desk service pretty friendly but a bit high-brow. Tried to check in early since it was difficult to time it right with the ferry. I suppose they tried but we still had to wait 4 hours for the room even though previous guests checked out. I'll give it the four stars since all wait staff and other service personnel were very helpful and service oriented. Their restaurants are a bit weird though. There's a booth for a hostess but there is never a hostess to greet you or take your reservation. Bartender at Henry's jokes with us after we waited for 10 minutes and said he would get rid of the hostess station. Once you get seated though the food is very good. Like most good hotels they have an off the book menu. If you're at Henry's for example, the table right next to us were order from a special menu, oops, guess our $500 per night room does not qualify for that menu. The food off the regular menu was still good :).

Went after dinner for drinks on the deck. Bar was a little slow and way over priced. Chocolate chip cookies were very good, but also expensive.

We are the regulars to their Sunday brunches and Holiday dinners of the hotel restaurants. Their foods are consistently solid and on the higher quality, and pleasant variety without pompous tricks other venues tend to allure you with, often I find very amateurish and disappointing. That is not the case here. Very pampering experience each time. Not many places welcome you like they do on this island. Cindy is the center of all the magic and her restaurant crews finally teamed up to be one. I hope the new owner hopefully recognizes all the good efforts the manager and the staff are putting in. And, we appreciate the connected community feel of the place — loved by the good year-round residents on the island, too.

Michelle. She makes this place. Hospitality is her middle name. Located right on the harbor and to transportation to the islands. Will definitely go back just to see Michele.

Very good for mid to large size gatherings. Food moderate. Pleasant staff. No knowledge of lunch/dinner. Wonderful walk in the town.

An excellent place to stay. Good beds and pleasant atmosphere. Take a walk on the local sandy beach and feel the ocean breeze on your face.

I stayed one night in the off season after my ferry was canceled. It was a nasty cold and windy day, not exactly chamber of commerce weather! The price, ($100) for the night was a great value. The room was comfortable. It’s an older hotel that has had some upgrades but one thing the room didn’t have was a thermostat. I thought it was a little warm but I just cracked open the slider. The bar attached has some good deals during the week. The burger was better than average and the fries were great. Everyone I dealt with was polite. Other than the lack of temperature control in the room, and the parking lot being a little on the small side I have no complaints. I’d like to see it in the spring or summer.

Very nice place. The Captain's cottage is amazing! The fireplace did not work when we arrived but the staff was helpful and friendly. The location is perfect and while not within a walk to the town it is close enough to make it easy to get to. The hotel has 2 restraints onsite both with the same menus but they both offered great views of the harbor. The greeting we received when we arrived was very friendly and inviting. The staff quickly informed us of the area and where to go. The whole area was relaxing and a perfect weekend get away.

We have been staying her 2 times a year for 9 years. We love the location but I've noticed over the years we pay a lot of money but the rooms have appeared worn. For the money we spend it has become an ok place to stay the last few years. Last night we were woken out of a deep sleep at 12:30am to the fire alarm going off. It appeared to be a glitch with the sprinkler system. One would think when your guest is inconvenienced in the middle of the night maybe breakfast would be on the house but that wasn't the case. I have become very disappointed with the Harbor View over the last few years. I hope they turn it around for my next visit or I may seek another venue to patronize!

It gives off a home-like vibe making me instantly comfortable. The main lobby is nice suited with couches, a fake warm giving fire place, as well as multiple board games to entertain. It also has a large variety of room selections in different buildings which I imagine is better for summer weather. Once you're settled from the ferry ride you may become hungry or filled with the need to travel both are included. Two restaurants are located inside the central building both with good overall taste and presentation as well as a great view of the nearby lighthouse (great photo opportunity). With traveling not only can rent a car from a place in the town, but you're given a booklet with information on buses and taxis. I spent some time with taxis leading to great conversation moments definitely enhancing the experience. Overall this creates a four star rating.

We arrived for late check-in past midnight in a cold MA winter and was greeted warmly by Gerry Rosés at the front desk. His Filipino hospitality and kindness is remarkable. He made sure we have everything we need and were satisfied with our stay at HVH. He also suggested the best restaurants and places to experience, which we followed and never regretted that we did. We very much enjoyed our stay at Martha's Vineyard, most especially (1) our nice room at HVH with our very own gate to the pool, (2) the sumptuous breakfast masterfully prepared for each's individual's liking, (3) while looking out through the porch window to be awestruck by the view of the lighthouse, (4) clean, classy, and well-equipped bathroom, (5) free Wi-Fi, (6) free parking, (7) friendly staff, (8) the crisp early morning jog, and (9) leisurely walks after lunch around quaint shops nearby. Given the opportunity to visit Martha's Vineyard again in the near future, we shall definitely return and stay at HVH. No questions asked. Thanks again!

We love the character, views, and location here in the off season. The spot to be for New Year's. Despite some serious boiler trouble on our first night, the staff was wonderful.

The Harbor View Hotel is located in Edgartown near the lighthouse. Several friends joined me for lunch in Henry's, the casual bar at the hotel. The service and the food were great. The view is exceptional, the windows overlook the outer harbor.

Excellent breakfast… well cooked… great presentation… spacious dining room… great waitress… good portions… beautiful view (an understatement) … would highly recommend… good value… leslie baynes.

The Harbor View Hotel is a great property. It's near enough to Main Street to walk and far enough to feel private. Some of the rooms have great views, but most have nice property views. Admittedly, my biggest complaint is that the rooms seem to have very little soundproofing between rooms, but because it's a quiet place to begin with (when we visited) it wasn't much of an issue.

Rooms were dirty. Hair on the sink, tub and toilets. Dirty toilets also. No hot water in the shower and not repaired during our 3 day stay. Good grounds and pool area. Friendly staff. Food mediocre.

Classy setup. The drinks were well made. The waitress was drunk though. The view of the ocean was incredible and the armosphere was laid back.

Booked three months in advance and were told water view rooms. Booking took almost an hour as 3rd party booking company first got the site wrong and booked us in a different hotel. When we caught it on receipt and called back, they told us they were not sure about water view and tried to transfer us to front desk… who did not answer for 45 minutes. Finally told us we would have water view rooms. When we arrived, rooms were on side of building with a view of a parked tour bus and directly over whole building A. C. So there was a constant drone sound. Went back to front desk, they apologized and showed us a different room with waterview. Told us if we could come back in a couple hours they would have it ready for us. Came back in a couple hours and the person who showed us the other room had left for the day and we did not get waterview. Spent next few days looking at tour bus and listening to drone sounds from A. C. Units below our window. For 380 a night This place has beautiful exterior but inside rooms are dirty and run down. Our bed looked like it came from a storage locker sale, all scraped up You can do better on the Vineyard, this place is way past its prime and trust me, people who work there DO NOT CARE!

Beautiful hotel. Service was very good. Stayed 5 days, rooms and grounds well maintained. My only issue was I was upgraded to a cottage because they were overbooked, the room was great. But the walls separating the units in the cottage were not in any way sound proof. Thankfully, those guests only stayed one night.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff is friendly & helpful and the rooms are clean and super comfortable. I slept so well both nights I wish I could take the bed home with me.

Pet friendly hotel with a helpful and charming staff. Even though we were there for a particularly inclement weekend on the off-season, the staff was helpful in making our stay as nice as possible. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. This is an excellent location on the island as it is out of the busier areas but is located next to a great little downtown area. I was very pleased with our stay.

Here for our friends post wedding brunch. Just a lovely place on bucolic island. They breakfast, and brunch beverages were fantastic. I liked the super spicy bloody mary, and the waffles that don't get any better. I did not stay in the hotel though.

We visited this hotel for the first time in May 2016. What a pleasant surprise. We drove to Greenport on a whim. We saw that this hotel was available for a Thursday evening. We went in and were greeted by Diane one of the managers. She was delightful. We had mentioned to her that online the hotel was 199.00 for the night. She honored that without us having to go online and book it. She gave us a lovely room with a balcony that overlooked the harbor. She also offered us to take in our bicycles so that we would not have to worry about them overnight. That was very thoughtful and gracious. There was a continental breakfast in the morning which was lovely. It is the only real Hotel in Greenport. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. Diane will now run their new place called Cove Place on the water on the Northfork. We look forward to going there as well. Thanks for your hospitality.

Great room, everything looked newly renovated, staff was great and helpful. Temperature control in the rooms was dated and not really functional.

We just stayed in the Harbor View this past weekend for the first time after too many years off island! It was everything we had hoped for and more. We had an amazing weekend all around exploring the island as we love to do. Returning to your lovely, clean hotel every day in our favorite spot on the island was better than ever and it was because of your staff. They were top notch! From our fabulous check in with Jordan who had us laughing all weekend, to Michael the best bellman ever, to Amelia and an excellent dinner in Henry's, to Wendy in housekeeping, who was as sweet and personable as can be and to one of the owners, Robin, who stopped us in the lobby to say hello! Stayed a spring weekend (out of peak season) and really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect. Located near a nice collection of shops, bars, and restaurants as well as a beautiful lighthouse that is easily accessible. Enjoyed their lobster special at the restaurant and the nice rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the lighthouse and the bay.

Got engaged last weekend and the hotel could not have been more accommodating. They went above and beyond for us going as far as leaving a hand written note and chocolate covered strawberries. They really helped make the experience that much better. Not to mention the Sunday brunch is out of this world!

Nice location, rooms is nice but the door barely closes. Hotel insisted on pre-charging our credit card $100 per day for incidentals that is 'refunded if you don't use it. ' Seemed very odd.

Stayed for a long weekend. Nice room, clean with nice accommodations. Asked to change rooms for a better view but they said the hotel was booked so view of the closed pool it is. Oh well, great location easy to walk into town.

Very nice hotel. Meeting rooms are well equipped and you get a great view of the Edgartown Lighthouse.

Our second stay here. During the winter months the price is right. Great view of the lighthouse and bay from a gigantic porch, if its warm enough or you're tough enough. It seems like a lot of locals come here for the restaurant. They have daily specials like buttermilk fried chicken that is really good. A decent bar with typical pricing. Parking on site or on the street. We'll be back.
