Nice quaint cozy Inn. Has an afternoon tea and a wonderful breakfast.

A great place for a getaway. Staff is always very helpful. The choice of rooms is outstanding. I especially like dining at the Tavern on-site. Many different packages to choose from. Best of all it is in Maine, my favorite place to visit.

Great staff great place to stay!

Finding a place for our whole family to enjoy which includes our dog Bo can be a challenge. However, from the moment I booked our stay over the phone I felt lucky we had found The Harraseeket. Upon arrival Penny was so welcoming and even had a card and surprise in the room for my sons birthday. Our dog was greeted with treats and a bed. All of the staff was so friendly and nice and we enjoyed the afternoon tea and time in the pool. Close in walking distance to all Freeport has to offer, this may have been our first stay, but it won’t be our last!

Food was delicious but disappointed in the price. I wanted chicken Alfredo instead of the lobster and was charged $30 for it. For chicken Alfredo that’s super expensive! I would go back but definitely not order that for lunch!

It’s a very nice place to stay for a weekend. Not too expensive and they are very customer friendly. We have come here for long weekends for several years. It is walkable to L. L. Bean and all of the other stores on Main Street.

We just stayed at the Inn and it very enjoyable. I prefer the atmosphere of an Inn over the "Chain" establishments. The staff were wonderful, very friendly. The food at their Tavern for supper was delicious. I really preferred how they served breakfast as opposed to the typical breakfast bar. The walking distance to town was perfect. We can't wait to stay again.

Had great tavern meal in the tavern. Customer service was excellent as always. It was pretty full but they accommodated me with my wheelchair. The chef went out of his way to ask what we ordered and if we liked our meal. The atmosphere is cozy with a fireplace! We have come here many times and will continue to do so!

Quiet sunny patio with bright umbrellas. Varied lunch menu to tempt any palate… we settled on brick oven pizzas and weren’t disappointed! Nice selection of wines and local beers. Attentive but not overbearing waitstaff. A lovely break from shopping.

Exceptional inn with the BEST BREAKFAST! Staff is tremendous! Food in the tavern is amazing. Located near shopping and the LL Bean headquarters, which is open 365/24/7. Lots to do nearby.

Love that they have dog friendly spaces in their carriage house and the staff is outstanding. They go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Love this place and have been visiting for years.

This review is regarding Broad Arrow Tavern: Short ribs were tender but whole dinner was barely warm. Husbands half a chicken was red and bloody on the legs and wings and breast bone. Waitress stated it was because it was brined it would be pink and we said it has blood on the bones. She took it and heated it a bit with no change basically. She took it off the bill and again said it was because it was brined. Paid the bill and manager came over and again said it was up to temperature and was fine and made a scene. We said it had blood on the bones and she continued to say she looked at it and it was fine. Never have we ever been treated like that in a restaurant. She was loud and argumentative and rude. Very embarrassing. Other diners were watching. I finally had to say she was right and we were wrong and she needed to stop as she continued on. It is prob only the second time we have ever told a waitress something was wrong with our meal. We normally suck it up and eat it but red bloody bones is a bit much even if it was up to temperature? Very very embarrassed and dumbfounded that a waitress and then the manager treated a customer that way in the middle of a busy restaurant. They should be ashamed of their behavior.

The food at their in-house restaurants was fantastic along with the service. The staff at the inn was well accommodating along with being very friendly. I highly suggest staying here. The rooms could use some updating though, that is my only suggestion. I'm not saying turn each room into a Ritz Carlton but implying that they need a decorator to re-envision the room. Overall… 5 stars… book here!

The beds are very comfortable with soft linens, the breakfast buffet was excellent especially the fritatas. There is a beautiful garden in the back and a delightful afternoon tea. Only downside there is no fridge in the room so cant store anything or take back leftovers.

My family had a terrible experience. Here are the highlights (or "lowlights" rather) : 1. Hostess argued that we missed our 6pm reservation but it was for 6:30… she went and checked the contract (because she was convinced we were lying to her) (there were only 6 other tables here besides us…) 2. Waited 30 minutes to receive appetizers 3.1.5 hours to receive dinner (then only the children's food came out) 4. Waitress picked up dinner plates before one child was finished with his meal. 5. My Surf & Turf — lobster cooked to leather and my medium-rare steak was well done 6. Waited 10 minutes to receive a dessert menu after dinner plates were picked up 7. Had only one waitress assigned to a table of 8 adults and 7 grandkids 8. Husband called twice to talk to a manager — never received a call back This was hands-down, in all my years as a foodie, the worst experience. And this was the first time seeing all of the children and grandchildren in over a year.

We met for a big family dinner at the Inn having come together from near and far. Our waitress was lovely and the food was incredible. Unfortunately, the hostess argued about the time of our reservation even when our party was still on the screen at the time we arrived. Later, our meals took about 2 hours to arrive to the table. Having 8 children with us who were all hungry and at this point exhausted made this a very difficult meal to get through. As wonderful as there meal was, the excessive wait time was unreasonable.

Fantastic, intimate buffet in the tavern! Food was amazing — cooked in small portions so super fresh. The chefs were behind the food bar ready to answer questions and help serve. The wait staff was better than good. A great experience. Looking forward to returning.

My husband and I make it a priority to stay at the Harraseeket Inn for a few days at least once a year. We love this family owned inn, the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. We stay in the carriage house next to the inn as the pet friendly rooms are located there. A dog bed, bowls, and treats are provided. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable, excellent quality linens are the standard. A fabulous buffet breakfast is included each morning as well as an afternoon tea. The two restaurants on site both serve excellent food. Harraseeket is about two blocks from L. L. Bean and just a short walk to many other outlet shops. Nearby are hiking trails and just a short drive to many of Maine's attractions, seaside villages, etc.

Hands down, the nicest people that you can meet along with the warmest atmosphere. Have been coming to the Harraseeket inn for 18 yrs. NEVER disappointed.

Had an amazing breakfast buffet today. The setting, the atmosphere, and the food were all wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly helpful and provided wonderful service. The food at the buffet was five star comprable to any restaurant I've ever been to. A wider range of menu items from eggs benedict baked beans breakfast breads bread puddings and your normal breakfast Fair such as yogurt and oatmeal and much more. Thoroughly enjoyed our decision to come here. The grounds are gorgeous well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful hotel. The pool area is always clean and stacked with plenty of towels. The continental breakfast is really good too. The food at the Broad Arrow Tavern is a bit lacking unfortunately.

Great food on Sunday an so worth the money. Try it out you won't be disappointed. All you can eat lobster every Sunday. And the theme for the brunch on Sunday changes weekly so it's good to call ahead and find out what the theme is. The Asian theme is one of the best. And if you have a chance and can afford it Easter Thanksgiving or Christmas buffet is awesome. I'd gladly go back again and I am very glad they have this service for people to enjoy.

We enjoyed out two night stay. The room was lovely with a twig headboard and turndown service complete with chocolate starfish! The breakfast was wonderful with fresh flowers on the table to a great selection of food. I am a tea person and they do it right at the Harraseeket Inn.
The only negative was there was a knitters group going on that took over the sitting room and tables making afternoon tea and any anticipated quiet moments by the fire impossible (or just finding a seat to enjoy our tea). I wish I was told the situation when booking or that an effort was made by management to allow for other guests to enjoy the Inn. Not the quiet get away I envisioned.
I would love to stay again in a less crowded situation and be able to experience the ambiance!

This is our favourite inn in the US. The rooms are great; the food better; and the customer service tops that. This morning my wife had coconut and chocolate pancakes for breakfast. I had eggs benedict with maple bacon — all on the breakfast buffet. Our kids love it and we consider it a real treat to visit.

The wait staff is extremely attentive, especially Celeste! There is always a wonderful variety of food at the Sunday buffet, which is why we regularly visit.

Cooked up an awesome Pineland Farms tenderloin! Fantastic meal.

Maine Harvest Dining was superb! Anniversary dinner of chateau brand for two melted in our mouths and the pockets. Pricy but worth it!

I love this place! I have never had a bad visit here. They are always accommodating to my special requests. One time our car broke down and they put us up without charging us for 2 days! How many places will do that? I love the afternoon tea and their breakfast buffet. All their food is top notch including their restaurants. Rooms are exquisitely decorated and the landscaped grounds are beautiful. It's the perfect place to relax and decompress!

This is quintessential Maine at its finest. I have been coming to the daily buffet at the Broad Arrow Tavern for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Their all-you-can eat lobster brunch is unparalleled.

My cousin had her wedding here. It was a beautiful ceremony and the staff was very attentive. The food was fantastic as well. Our room was clean and well stocked. It was also a very short walk to the outlets.

Food and service at the Broad Arrow was amazing. The WAIT for the food was ridiculous. Full kitchen staff (open kitchen), 4 tables other then ours, 9 at night. Half hour for 2 apps. And another 40 minutes for pizza. Stupid long. Not thrilled. Especially when you see the kitchen staff standing around not really doing a whole lot until your server goes up and reminds them of your ticket. The food is great, yes. But get on it. The experience could be so much better.

I have stayed there… eaten there. And attended corporate functions here. Its the best hotel in Freeport. The beds are awesome. The staff is friendly. They have a small gym and pool which is nice. Here is a tip… get the cheapest room available… then arrive so you can take advantage of the afternoon tea… then the next morning enjoy their great breakfast included with the room… it really makes your stay a bargain.

We have been here before and absolutely love it. Beautiful inn, delicious breakfast buffet and a staff second to none. My husband got sick on Christmas Day and couldn't get to the buffet. Everyone in the Maine Harvest was wonderful. Packed up a bag with something for him to eat. Thank you all for your concern.

We went only for the breakfast buffet, which was not as described and definitely not worth the price. Good as a complimentary breakfast, but not good as anything else. They didn't even have real maple syrup, which is pretty sad from a New England inn.

My husband and I went there for our little getaway during Christmas time and it was so lovely. The inn was nicely decorated for the season, there were plenty of fresh flowers, making it festive and charming. Our room was small but, clean. When we arrived, the lobster brunch was being served. Although, we did not join in, we caught a glimse of the buffet and it really looked impressive! The next morning we tried the complimentary buffet breakfast and it was surprisingly good! Everything was fresh and with a good selection, filled with eggs, bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, pancakes, fruit cups, etc. We looked forward to it the next morning! They have two restaurants in-house with was very convenient. Although we only tried the Broad Arrow Tavern, we liked it so much that went back for dinner twice! They also offer complimentary Afternoon tea-what a beautiful touch. They also have a little gift shop with local unique items. Of note, we felt the Inn was well located, close-by major malls, sights and attractions. We highly recommend this New England gem for a romantic and relaxing getaway!

Broad Arrow Tavern has a rustic Maine, cozy feel without the kitsch. Local ales. Food and service varies slightly on different days, but it's always good. Try the haddock sandwich and clam chowder!

Casual atmosphere with an open kitchen, so it's a little loud but that's to be expected. Extensive wine selection, fun but small local tap list. Seasonal specials. Good seafood.

This place was amazing. Beautiful landscape. Lovely interior. The food and staff were absolutely fantastic. Very personal and attentive.

From a pure unbiased perspective, I would still think that this is a great place to stay and service. For me, however, it represents a little bit of my past and many fond memories. So I would say that I like this inn quite a bit.

My family has stayed at the Harraseeket inn many times over the years. I have 3 daughters who enjoyed the pool and my wife and I always enjoyed the clean rooms and very friendly staff. Also the food in the Broad Arrow Tavern and the breakfast is worth the stay! Will always make this our place to stay and eat while in Freeport.

Went for the Sunday brunch. It was delicious and had just about anything you could want. My only complaint was there were no eggs of any form to have.

We have been coming here every New Years for the past 5 years and every stay us perfect. Exceptional service from Clayton and Penny each and every time. Food is the best in Freeport. All praise, no complaints. They even have turn down service in the rooms!

Got a free upgrade to a jacuzzi room. Everyone was super nice and hospitable. Rooms were clean and super comfy. Seriously no complaints at all. Plus there is a fire pit!

Went for a meeting and the staff and food was phenomenal. Didn't check the rooms, but definitely a place I'd spend a few nights.

I have read the reviews and I must say I couldn't disagree more with the negative reviews since my experience was very much the opposite. While touring Maine last month with my Antique Car Club, my wife and I stayed at the Harraseeket Inn. We found the Inn was extremely accommodating. From the front desk, to the wait and room staff, all the way to the owner Chip and his maintenance crew, we couldn't ask for a friendlier more helpful staff. I have been touring for a many years and I have never experienced such kindness. The owner Chip physically got underneath my antique car and fixed the leaking fuel tank himself. Chip went as far as to have his maintenance man Dave take me to and from the automotive shop for a part just so he could completely repair my car which gave me the ability to continue the tour. As if that was not enough already, the next day he drove all the way out to Bar Harbor just to check on us and see if we needed anything more. Where do you find such generous people today, certainly we have never experienced this before and we have been touring the East Coast for several years. We can't convince those who have already had their own experiences here, but we do hope to influence those who are considering staying in this facility as they are by far the best hotel and staff that we have ever encountered and we will definitely be back here to stay every time we are in or around this area.

The most Unprofessional customer service in the industry, and when asked to speak with the Owner, "Skip" he did not feel my station was worth speaking me about, and I spent almost 2, 000.00 in 3 days there in 2014, "less Than Professional" would be saying too much positive about this property, Good Luck if you stay there. Many choices the Immediate Freeport area.

Just feasted at their famous Sunday brunch with friends and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. The atmosphere, food and friendly staff made it a really special day. The fires were blazing in the fireplaces, and the comfortable rooms made us feel at home. The chilled lobster and prime rib were so delicious — and all the side dishes and salads and desserts made it a true feast. Highly recommended.

We've been coming to the Harraseeket for years and enjoying the comfortable accommodations as well as the hospitality, excellent food and local beverages at the Broad Arrow Tavern. Their breakfast is just spectacular with all sorts of healthy offerings, but I must confess a weakness for the local bacon. The afternoon tea is a unique, welcoming treat after a tiring day's drive or a shipping spree at nearby Ll Bean.

A great place to get away too. Affordable, Comfortable, peaceful. This is the place that I loose my stress too. Very nice and most helpful staff. Can't say enough about the food. Love the breakfast and tea time. The Inn is very quaint when it comes to it's decor, which includes the rooms. Nice fireplaces to sit by, and a large comfortable sitting room to lounge in. Perfect location for accessing all the businesses in town. I never slept so well in any other place that I stayed at.

Last room left was TERRIBLE. While the reviews here look good, my wife and I decided to spend a little extra thinking this would be a bit nicer than a chain hotel, so we ponied up $250 for a "Jacuzzi room with fireplace". The main lobby was nice, and I don't know what the rest of the hotel was like, but we stayed in the "Carriage House" and the room was gross. I know this is an old inn, but this wasn't remotely charming. The first thing I noticed was the broken glass on the bathroom floor. Aside from the cobwebs in the corners and the clogged sink, my wife noticed a hair tie on her night stand which makes me doubt the room was cleaned/sheets changed. The mattress was worn and the towels had been washed so many times they were scratchy. All these things may be fine in a $59/night motel, but shame on you for raking customers over the coals that way. Spend some money on your establisment if you intend to keep charging those prices. You won't see my business again. Thankfully my next stay was a wonderful welcome to maine: Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. Clean, updated, and charming. (and it cost less at $235/night).

We have been coincidentally there with four teenage children, 2 nights in a "townhouse", a kind of terraced houses behind the hotel. Unfortunately, we had to spend every night in a different House.
The homes urgently need a renovation, but are inside clean and ideal for a family. Loud air conditioner on the last townhouse, garden furniture were dirty and unusable.
The garden of the hotel is fantastic. Inside is a small nice pool and the staff tries but sometimes a bit overwhelmed. The restaurant is hopelessly overpriced, only a bistro next door.
Breakfast very good for American conditions.
The location to the shops is perfect, no car.
