We had a great time staying at Candlebay. The innkeeper is just super — so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing — the caramel cinnamon french toast was so good. My sometimes fussy 5 year old cleaned his plate (no small feat! ). The rooms were great and everything is super clean (being dog friendly, you never know what you're going to get… the *only* indication I had of dogs was a basket of toys available for travelers). I can't wait to come back!

Every year in December, my friends and I gather together at the Candlebay Inn for Freeport’s Sparkle Weekend. We have done this for 5 straight years and counting. The Inn is so comfortable and cozy. The Innkeeper, Connie, is a lovely, friendly and accommodating woman. Breakfast is always yummy and every day there is a delicious cake or some other baked good served in the common area, along with coffee, tea and sometimes hot cocoa. The inn is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend the Candlebay Inn. It’s a great value at a reasonable price!

Inn keeper is friendly and gracious. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. And you can walk to shops and dining. Lovely. And breakfast was so good! Would definitely visit again.

Great room, breakfast was wonderful, pet friendly, close to shopping and restaurants, dining room was warm and inviting along with the reading room\library. Excellent service! Hope to stay there again!

Had a great stay at the Candlebay! The hostess and owner was great, the breakfast was amazing, the beds and amenities were great, and all was spotlessly clean. Best part, a dog friendly B&B close to the shops. Highly highly recommend it.

This was a great B&B for our whole family! We had two rooms with an adjoining sitting room. All of the accommodations were excellent!

A home away from home! Connie and her daughter make this such a welcoming place. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. The breakfasts are so delicious. Frankly, it is hard to leave.

The hospitality and the breakfasts were great. The Inn is within walking distance to town, that has a lot of shops a bed restaurants. The grounds have places to sit outside and relax as well. The owner was very helpful with options of different sites to see and things to do. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing stay.

This place is a hidden gem! Only stayed one night but very close to shops and restaurants, and host is lovely and makes a delicious breakfast. The house is adorable and we enjoyed an evening sitting outside with a glass of wine!

My wife & I stayed on 7-21 & 7-22 2018. What a lovely place. We stayed in the Forget Me Not room. So clean & comfortable. The owner, Connie was the best host. Had tons of info for us to go see. Breakfast each day was amazing. Coffee was perfect. Thank you so much for the amazing stay! Hope to see you again when we make it back out your way. It's the memories that make it all worth while, and you shared some of those with us!

We had a great stay at Candlebay Inn! The room we stayed in was impeccably clean as well as the rest of the home. The breakfast was delicious and the inn keeper was very friendly and accommodating. The B&B was a short walk to L. L Bean. Would definitely stay there again in the future.

Stayed at the Candlebay Inn during the recent Fall Festival. Great location, accomodations, breakfast. Connie, the owner went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable, going as far as driving us to an antique mall several towns away. Highly recommend.

One of the best bed and breakfasts we've stayed at! Affordable, friendly, walking distance to everything! The breakfast was so filling! We didn't want to leave! Connie and staff are so very accommodating! If you need anything, just ask! They will go out of their way to make it the most comfortable stay. And the house is beautiful! My toddler still talks about his "vacation home. "

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Candlebay Inn! We stayed for two week nights in the beginning of August. Connie, the inn's owner, is friendly and helpful, and was so welcoming to us, and to our dog, Lucy! We initially chose the inn because of the great reviews found online, and that it is dog-friendly. There were other dogs also there during our stay, but other than seeing them outside, you would never have known! The inn is clean, cozy, and quaint, and while it is easily within walking distance of the downtown area, it's far enough from the hustle and bustle to be peaceful. Breakfast was served each morning and was delicious, and Connie keeps coffee, tea, and water in the common room at all times — sometimes also with a sweet treat! It was helpful that doggy bags and an outdoor, covered trash can were provided, and Connie offered dog blankets and a dog bed to us (we had brought our own, so we didn't need to borrow these). There is also a basket of dog toys near the door, and a big open yard to play in. We appreciated that the room had a private in-room bath (not the case with all B&B's), because it is best to keep the door closed when you are traveling with a sneaky pup. :) The Candlebay Inn was precisely what we were looking for, was reasonably priced, and Connie was so welcoming and friendly! We will definitely be back!
