While many have commented about the road construction, let's not forget that the motel has no control over that. All of the hotels/motels along the 2 1/2 mile strip of construction face the same issue. We found the room to be clean and the breakfast not bad. The price was much better than other places in the area probably in part because it is on the outskirts of Bar Harbor and is an older motel The rooms do definitely need a fresh coat of paint and some updating so please, Days Inn, get rid of the horrible green and yellow walls. And if you update, consider putting exhaust fans in your bathrooms. Otherwise we found this to be adequate compared to the $400-$700 rooms in the area.

This place is a dump! We had high expectations due to its location. What a disappointment. We had two rooms and both were terrible. The door latch for one was broken and you had to slam the door to close it or force your shoulder into it to open. The blinds for one window were on the floor. The other room, was a “suite”. The vents on the AC were missing, so although there was cold air, it would simply blast out. The sitting area with sofa bed remained warm the entire time. That didn’t matter much, as the sofa bed was missing so many springs it made the bed unusable. It got one star as the clerk was friendly and helpful and the shower had good water pressure! That’s the only redeeming quality! This place nearly ruined our vacation! Skip this place!

Room was slightly run down and dated. Safe was locked and unusable. TV had drops in signal. Room was clean though. Breakfast was adequate. Road construction made access to the hotel inconvenient. Location too far from town to walk and accessing amenities across the street was unsafe with road work. Parking was full.

Solidly middle of the road. This is a motel, pretty close to Bar Harbor's downtown by car though a bit far to walk. Our room was clean but not well appointed. It's clear that this place has seen years of wear and neglect. The hinges of the bathroom door were fully rusted over, the towel bar was missing with only holes in the drywall remaining, the decor is decades old, and I found it hard to sleep with so much light pouring in from their road sign out front. It was fine for one cheap night but I can't really recommend it.

Area was a nightmare to get to due to local construction. You had to go out of your way to get there. Room itself was fairly small considering the price, but was comfortable enough. Room was rather warm and humid even with the air conditioning unit running at max. Front desk worker was incredibly friendly and ready to help me out, which was nice.

There is continental breakfast with a variety of selection. The rooms are fairly clean but nothing to send then over the top. The parking is not moderated so sometimes families have more than one car and you may not find parking.

Friendly staff, below average breakfast, share pool and spa with Holiday Inn across the street. Rooms are clean but in need of remodel. Decent value for the area. Very close to Bar Harbor sights and Acadia NP.

So my boyfriend and I had stayed in Days Inn Bar Harbor for 3 nights during a trip to Acadia. Based on the location, this hotel was just what we needed for our short trip to the island. Our room was clean and had all the amenities listed, such as TV, coffee maker, safe, and mini fridge. The staff was helpful in making recommendations for food as well as helping us with our reservation. We enjoyed our stay here, since we were very comfortable and we got everything we asked for. We especially liked the location near Acadia and downtown bar harbor. That being said, currently the lot across the street is under construction and loud trucks/beeping woke us up unpleasantly in the early morning hours. Additionally, the area is loud from other guests and small children and noise from upstairs, which wasn’t a huge deal for us, but it is just a warning. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here temporarily, but will probably not return to this hotel until at least the construction is finished.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Older motel with character. Waterfront views. Amazing value. No complaints here.

We stayed at the Days Inn in Bar Harbor for two nights, and had no complaints. It was a quiet, though most of the island was since it was just after memorial day, and clean and well kept. Our bed was lovely and soft and in the bathroom the water pressure and hot water were both lovely. There was construction going on on the road nearby, so the mornings could get a little noisy but nothing that woke either of us up. Be aware: pillows and comforters are down. Great for those with our allergies, frustrating for those with, but they had synthetic pillows at the front desk available and down comforters don't bother me personally. It's a great, inexpensive place to stay on Mount Desert Island if you don't need many amentities.

Service was kind and great! Beds are ok but just deal with them. Breakfast was good but space is so small and limited. Location of the place is great. All the rooms face scenery.

Great location with ocean view. Breakfast was average. Carpet in our room was too dirty for our son to play around.

The motel was old but clean and of solid quality. The room was bigger than expected and comfortable. The location was very good, just a short drive from town and the park. The woman who helped us check in was very friendly and helpful!

Run down, unpleasant, poor service. This place cost $200/night but feels like a $50/night hotel. The room smelled as soon as we entered. When I asked a simple question the person at the front desk gave a vague response and kept playing with his phone. That ended up sending us to the wrong place, wasting our time. The bathtub wasn't draining so showering was disgusting. Towels had stains and single pane windows let in the road noise. We managed to enjoy Acadia and Bar Harbor but this place only detracted from the experience.

Hotel is old, musty, and noisy but the sheets are clean. The rooms have a view of the bay but you have to look past the highway and an abandoned loading dock complex to see it. Continental breakfast is really bad. On the good side, this is a sister property to the Bar Harbor Regency across the street, so if you cross the road amd walk for 5 minutes you can use their pool, restaurants, and hot tub. This salvaged the hotel stay for our kids. Also at the Regency is a bus stop that you can use to go all over the island FOR FREE courtesy of LL Bean. Not having to drive our car around after a 3 day trip to get here was very nice. I guess you can say the nicest thing about this hotel is the ability to use a different hotel's pool and the proximity to a bus stop.

Internet sucks! Beyond that great friendly staff. The room was cozy just have to remember to empty the dehumidifier before it over flows. A quick bike ride away from everything in bar harbor. Even went across the road to their sister hotel to take a dip in the pool.

Is what it is… Best price Best Value considering the area. Room was clean. But very small… Front desk and workers were friendly. Also able to use pool and amenities at hotel across street… Wi-Fi not so good. Nice stay!

Room was pretty good. Got an ocean facing view without requesting for it… The front desk attendants are quite responsive… The rooms are spacious.

This Days Inn is Bar Harbor Maine is not a hotel but a giant rat hole. Last time somebody remodeled this place was maybe in 50's if not earlier. Moldy with smell of old basement, and carpets so dirty that its green color is now yellow. Poeple smoking out side of the rooms so if you are non smoker, welcome to hell. Yet they charge you Close to 500 green for 2 nights. Before checking in to this sh#$t hole, do yourself a favor and check the other hotels around, I'm pretty sure you will find something better.

My husband and I plus family stayed here when we came to bar harbor for the first time and we thought this place was great for sleeping because it was clean and a great price for the stay. I recommend staying here because for the price and the complimentary breakfast along with the cleanliness of the hotel works because you are not in your hotel to hang out. You go to bar harbor for the sights and the shopping and this hotel did the trick.

After reading the reviews, we hesitated to stay here. When we arrived, the hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The staff let us check in a hour early and they were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and bright. Yes it is a motel and not a hotel but that was perfect. We were traveling with our dog and they allow pets. There wasn't a separate cleaning fee either. It was in walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Also, you get access to the Resort across the street. The resort has a pool, sauna, lobster pound, and outdoor bar. We would definitely stay here again.

The staff get a star they were very nice. However, this is a motel not a hotel, overpriced, my bed was about 40 feet from a main road into bar harbor so traffic noise was extreme, you could see daylight around the front door it did not seal, no fan in thbathroom instead a moldy dehumidifier that will guarantee a sinus infection, our first room had a broken bed won't stay on its frame, not enough parking per number of rooms, so you're shit out of luck if you roll in too late but again the staff is cool if you jam your car wherever within reason.

I was extremely hesitant to stay here after all the reviews I had read. I had set the days up with the rest of my party and that's what we took off for work so had to take what was available. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised. I've traveled all over the country and stayed in some gross back woods Georgia hotels that should be condemned along with elegant posh hotels, and this fits right in the middle, exactly where most days inn belong. The room was clean, nice clean brightly painted walls, with nice matching furniture. Carpet was clean and soft and bed was basically what I expected. The bathroom could be updated. But it wasn't horrible and it was all clean. On top of it all you have use of the amenities at the Bar harbor regency across the street. Heated pool, tub, restaurants, and whatever else they listed. So for the money your spending, and if you've ever stayed at a days inn before then your getting just that. Clean modest budget friendly room.

For what you pay its ok. The rooms smell musty and it looks and feels more like a motel. The linens are kept in a dirty closet. The carpet looks old. The beds are fairly comfort. The bathroom is a little gross and a small sink.

We stayed at this hotel on a last-minute trip without reading any reviews. The hotel room was not the cleanest or in the best condition. The carpet was very damp/musty, a spider came out of the walls and we both wore our flip flops in the shower (the tub looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in quite some time. We tried not to touch anything and did not want to even get in the bed. I would never stay there again, it was gross and definitely no where near my expectations. This review is of my stay almost a year ago, so conditions could be better now.
