The Bar Harbor Motel is just wonderful. Super clean. Such friendly and helpful staff! It’s a perfect place for families. The pool gets sun all day but in the late afternoon in particular — when you’re tired from the days events and the kids can just swim and play on the playground while you lounge in one of the many comfortable areas to sit. Grills on the lawn for when you’re tired of eating out. Lovely (covid-minded) grab and go breakfast. It feels like summer camp outside with all the comforts of a well run motel inside.

My family and I loved this motel! It was a nice, relaxing atmosphere with very friendly staff, a nice outdoor pool, clean, and a great location to Acadia National Park and the downtown Bar Harbor area. The room was set up perfect so our 2 teens could each have their own queen bed. And, after we left we realized we were missing a hat and the front desk quickly found it and will be mailing it to us! They also had a great selection for their grab and go breakfast. I would definitely book here again!

With our 3 1/2 yr old grandson daughter and son in law; perfect;beautiful grounds pool and activities, plus free shuttle into bar harbor, Acadia, bass harbor and more. Although we live in Camden great to stay up there for a couple of days. 1/2 Ironman today, the first. Dro came in 9th overall! This will be our go to place! Wonderful staff. Lobster shaped towel a big hit.

We had a wonderful stay at Bar Harbor Motel this week! The staff are all genuinely friendly and prioritize making their guests feel comfortable and welcomed. There are many staff members always out and about cleaning and keeping the motel in great shape. My kids loved the towel animals each AM. The bus to downtown was a very convenient bonus! Great motel!

Pleasantly surprised with this older but clean and well kept motel. Nice room, beautiful grounds, super nice staff and great breakfast. Lots to do for kids and families. Also, the city provides a shuttle service into downtown. Very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

Stayed for the holiday weekend and can’t say enough good things about this quiet, clean, friendly motel and it’s staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was big, fresh and filling! The staff really pays so much attention to all the little details which does not go unnoticed. Pool was open and warm even tho the weather wasn’t as warm as we had hoped, the kids had a blast swimming! So much for the kids to do and plenty of relaxing for the adults! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely OUTSTANDING service! Whether it was checking in, eating breakfast, or even doing our laundry, the motel staff was so helpful and friendly. Hot cookies fresh from the oven were delivered to our breakfast table. They made our stay feel like home and have permanently made coming back to Bar Harbor a must. We will come back here for sure.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel and it exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, clean, and the staff was friendly. The free breakfast had a good selection (cleaning staff in dining area was fast and attentive). Amenities we really liked were the heated pool and a locked bike storage — perfect for our family bikes. They also offer complimentary toothbrushes, combs, and shaving razors should you forget them. There is also a free shuttle bus that takes you to Village Green (town center) that can transfer to other buses around the island. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Excellent place to stay in Bar Harbor for Acadia NP visit. There is actually a trail from the motel to the park. The motel itself is very scenic, serene, and green. The rooms are in blocks of 4-8 separated from each other. The entire place is large and children can play outside. A very family friendly place. My family simply loved it. Among other things to live about this place is proximity to a number of good places to eat, a big supermarket nearby, and other important necessities. The breakfast is very good, although missing any hot items.

My family and I spent three nights here while visiting Acadia. Our overall experience with the hotel was great. It’s super family-oriented, with daily games and activities for kids, as well as numerous play areas. The motel is set up like a neighborhood, and there are plenty of outdoor picnic areas. It’s pretty and relaxing, perfect for all families!

I stayed here for 3 days during my recent trip to Maine. It has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms. There are daily events for the kids or family. There is a huge variety of offerings to grab for breakfast and it is convenient to Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor. I’d love to go back!

This place is very cute. It's made up of multiple "cottages" that each have 4 motel rooms. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Every thing appears clean. Front office staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was full of great choices and plentiful. The pool area was centrally located and shielded from the street by very tall hedges on 3 sides. They provide towels in the pool area. I subtracted 1 star because the Wi-Fi, which is free, was not very reliable during my stay.

The barharbor motel has a great friendly staff and a sweet location. The rooms are clean and smell great. Not much of a view of the ocean… wrong side of the road… but it was nice. Plan on returning for years to come. Nice little pool. Private. Good enough breakfast and close to Acadia national park. And bar harbor city center.

We stayed here for a long weekend in mid-May 2018 and were very happy with the accommodations and staff. The room was modern, large, clean, well lit, and had everything we needed. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. From the front desk staff to the maintenance staff, everyone seemed happy we were there and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. We visited MDI for access to the national park and with the path into the park from the back of the property we had a great couple of days riding our bikes. We hope to be able to visit again soon and we will definitely stay here again.

A tossup between 3 and 4 stars. Reliable and unpretentious, and pretty convenient to in-town Bar Harbor — you can walk it in 10 minutes or so. Hiking trail out the back of the property heads up into the Park. Free Wi-Fi and continental-style breakfast, otherwise pretty basic. Good service: our heater didn't work the first night, so a little chilly sleeping. Told them at breakfast, they hopped right on it and offered to comp the night. And replaced the unit during the day while we were out. That's appreciated. We've been coming up here for several years now.

A good 3 star hotel with nice spacious and functional rooms. Quality breakfast but unfortunately little varies and only sweet.

We stayed there in Month of May 2018. I would say it's one of the best budget place to live if you are visiting Acadia national park. The staff were very courteous and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The location is great, they have one small hiking trail right behind the property. Also the morning breakfast was great. I would definitely recommend this place.

I stayed at the Bar Harbor Motel for a week with my family while vacationing on Mount Desert Isle. The location is a few miles outside of Bar Harbor, and has a foot path that leads to the Acadia National Park road/paths. Area wise the motel rooms are grouped in buildings with multiple rooms to a building, up a hill that leads to the woods separating the outer parameter roads and Acadia National Park. The rooms themselves were not small, but not large either, and were stocked with sufficient amount of supplies related to hygiene and toiletries. The staff of the Bar Harbor Motel were friendly and accommodating, and had no problems explaining what were commonly sought after tourist sites and activities. Unfortunately we went for our trip in the later half of October, and many common tourist attractions had closed for the season. While there are many Bar Harbor hotels/motels that are located closer to town, the Bar Harbor Motel was very nice for the price. It was quiet, scenic, and well maintained despite not being closer to the town. If we return to Mount Desert Island for another vacation, we would consider staying here again. It should also be noted that this site is located right next to Jack Russell's steak house and bar. Dinner there was expensive as you might expect, but absolutely worth every dollar.

Clean comfortable and economical. I will stay here when I return next year. Helpful friendly staff and great amenities with a great Continental breakfast.

Really nice breakfast included with the stay. Rooms were clean and very basic, a little bit over-priced for the quality though.

Good for the price. The staff were very kind and friendly and the 1 king + 2 double was big enough for 5 adults. I noticed several small maintenance issues like our door not shutting easily an scraping up the wall. A not so small issue was the blankets and pillows smelling dirty/ like mildew. If you can afford it I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Nice place to stay at Acadia. Rooms are large, clean and usually silent. Cottages are well seperated, and there is lush greenery all around! Breakfast spreadis small yet adequate.

This place is fantastic! We have stayed here twice already and plan to stay again when we come back. Great breakfast, great staff, great all around and very very clean. What more can you ask for? If someone gives this place a bad rating, its the person who wrote the review. Great job guys!

This place is very clean, the rooms are nice, and the staff are very professional and polite. The free breakfast they offer is a nice touch, and it isn't half bad either. I am yet to use their pool and gym, but so far it has been a great experience.

When planning my trip to Acadia national park I had to search for conveniently located and not severely overpriced place to stay. Bar Harbor Motel became my choice after some time researching because of nice accommodations, great location and affordable rates. But when booking (through third party that does not allow changes) I made a mistake on a date. Did not notice it until right before checking in at the property, and that's a 6 hour drive from my home. I was very upset and mad at myself, that's completely my mistake. So at the front desk I explained the situation to the receptionist. She was understanding and caring from the very beginning, went ahead and found the same room that I booked. I only had to pay a tiny difference in rate. This was all possible only thanks to Jordan, helping me fixing my own mistake! I'm very grateful for her help, if it wasn't for her I'd drive back home and my days off would've been ruined. Jordan, thank you again, you provided an excellent customer service and turned around a bad situation into a great experience.

We just finished our third stay in the last 5 years at this property. I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else in Bar Harbor! Everything is extremely clean, peaceful, and family friendly. My 3 kids had plenty to do with the pool, two outdoor play areas, and activities. The trail connecting to the carriage roads is fantastic too… makes getting around the park a breeze. The staff is also extremely friendly — we were always greeted warmly and our needs were met promptly. We highly recommend the Bar Harbor motel!

Great place to stay for Acadia visit.

Meticulously clean and well maintained. Conveniently located near oath entrance and close enough to town to walk our ride bikes. The bicycle storage shed made it easy to base our rides from the motel.

Rooms were immaculate and staff was very friendly and accommodating. On one occasion we were late getting back to the included breakfast (6:30am-10:30am). We arrive about 10:45am and the staff brought back food and coffee/milk for us and others who also arrived after closing. Unfortunately our son got sick and we had to leave a day early. We were not charged for our early exit. We'll definitely stay at this motel again (if rooms are available) when we return to Acadia.

Cheap, nice accommodations, tremendously helpful staff. A motel that feels more like a hotel. Nice enough just to walk around the grounds.

Super clean hotel and friendly staff! (Staff: Kim and I don't remember the name of the gentleman that checked us in but he had glasses and was tall) They have an activity of the day, a board where you can write the animals you saw, etc; overall welcoming environment for a smaller hotel. Went here off Google reviews and was not disappointed!

The motel was very clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The pool was kept at a delightful 80 degrees and the kids loved it! Breakfast was very good. Location excellent! We will be staying here next year!

Loved our stay at The Bar Harbor Motel. We appreciated the friendly and attentive staff, the location, and our family room with 2 bedrooms. We've stayed at a lot of hotels and I don't remember too many that work as hard at being the best at what they do. We can't wait to return! Thank you!

Staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. There is a path that goes to Acadia from the hotel. Also it is a close drive to town. I would definitely stay again.

Super friendly staff, conveniently located within walking distance of Bar Harbor (or take the free trolley that stops at the entrance) and has direct access to Arcadia National Park. Wifi is good, and there is a great breakfast included with plenty of food for adults and kids. GREAT VALUE and I appreciate the smile and "hello" from each of the staff we meet.

My husband and I stayed here last week. The rooms were extremely clean. The free breakfast was good, bagels, muffins, eggs, etc. The staff at the office were sweet and so helpful. There is a trail in back of grounds that takes you into the park. Great walk. I would highly recommend The Bar Harbor Motel, and we would stay here again when we come back to Maine.

Great value. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. I would expect this quality of service to be priced at 150$ or above, especially in a touristy place (I was there in the off-season, though). The breakfast room is quite crowded late in the morning and I was there in the off-season.

I really enjoyed this motel. It added to my overall experience in Bar Harbor and now I've got my eye on the future. I would love to stay at this motel again. Good breakfast, good location, clean rooms, and friendly staff. I was very pleased. Kudos to the management here.

We were in Bar Harbor for a wedding over the 4th of July weekend. Upon check-in, we were given helpful information and maps about getting around the island, especially for a holiday weekend. Unfortunately, an unwelcomed guest, by the name of Hurricane Arthur, showed up and tried to ruin the show. Arthur stole power from half of the island on Saturday. The staff was very accommodating to the ladies in letting some of us use power from their generator to save face with our hair and also made things right upon check-out. The continental breakfast had a bigger selection than most hotels do. The lobby/eating area was very well attended to throughout breakfast times. The rooms were very clean, spacious and the A/C worked very well. I wish we had more time in Maine, but when we get back, we will be staying at the Bar Harbor Motel. We have stayed here a few times and have always been happy with our clean quiet rooms. The staff are friendly linens clean and great smelling rooms. I cant begin to tell you how satisfied I was and also a plus the convience to Acadia Park and downtown Bar Harbor. Terry.
