Stayed two times in a one week span. First room was pretty good, the shower was small, the sink has no counter space, but other than that it was ok. However, I left to go explore the city and I came back and got off the elevator to go to my room I was immediately smacked in the face by a gnarly odor of cigar smoke that smelled throughout the hallway. The second time I payed the same price (reservations were made well in advance), but the room was pretty gross. Dingy carpet, sheets had stains, exposed pipes coming out of the wall, etc. I left to go have a few drinks and came back a bit before midnight. I had to stand out front for nearly five minutes waiting on the staff to buzz me in (the front door locks after a certain time and your room key does not open it). The walls are paper thin, you hear every door slam, the bedding is not comfortable. There are no deadbolts or chains on the doors, no fridge, no microwave, the bathroom is a step up which is easy to forget about, the switches for lights, fan, ac, etc are weird. They have a dress code, which is annoying (especially after spending all day traveling) and would only make sense in a much nicer hotel. The lobby is nice and the location is good, but beyond that it is overpriced. I won't be back.

Thermostat felt like it didnt work, although the room was mostly comfortable. Didnt like that I didnt have access to the bar because I failed to pack a collared shirt. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Housekeeping stole a shirt and pair of shorts. Lobby greeter was exceptionally friendly.

Brides flowers went missing. I was blamed for taking them. Shane on them.

Check in was easy, staff were friendly, and the room was great. The room was clean and spacious. The walk-in shower was a little small but clean. Love the old-world class of the place. Super close to everything downtown. Will definitely stay again.

Worked as part of a band for a wedding. The staff was really helpful and nice. The venue was really nice as well. Perfect wedding venue.

Lots of wood and history to this old building make for unique stay. Shower space is a little small but it's still a nice place. Parking is kind of a joke though.

Old hotel that smells like mildew. The room was extremely outdated. The bathroom was the worse. Only a small standup shower and it smelled like sewage. The room’s AC did not work and after contacting the front desk, they sent a handyman who came in and lefted the ceiling tile and said it just needed a little ventilation. The room didn’t cool off at all. Stayed at 72 degrees. Seems like a good temp but the room was very hot. Not worth the money.

Great staff. Beautiful atmosphere. Always a great time there.

Since then, parking and breakfast are no longer free, but the guest rooms are still a great value. I had a large clean room facing south (note: there are rooms facing an interior courtyard) with an updated bathroom. I didn't avail myself of the athletic facilities, which I could as a member of a reciprocal club; maybe next time. The club is in an excellent location. I took the shuttle bus to and from Busch Stadium; it's a little less than a mile, which I could've walked but the convenience was appealing. The staff is also very accommodating.

Was invited to lunch as a guest and enjoyed the buffet. Excellent service, tons of options and a beautiful building. Took a brief tour and was very impressed with what I saw. I can't believe I've lived in St. Louis for so long and never heard about this place.

My group was only catered by the club during my visit but the staff was very kind and pleasant, the hall was large and beautiful and the breakfast they served was to quote another attendant, 'the only upside' to being forced to drive 3 hours at 4 am.

Nice hotel. They do have a dress code policy, but I don't think they enforce it.

Great place with lots of activities to offer. You have to be a member or with one. Very classy but vibrant atmosphere.

Enjoyed our week here and attended a beautiful wedding! Only wish is better weather!

It's a good family gym place. Expensive. Staff can be rude at times.

The best Boxing venue I'v ever coached at. They gave all the fighters and coaches a free delicious meal at the end of the show. Caters brought a 3 course meal rite to us back stage. Huge fan! Will be looking forward to next year's fights.

I stayed at the hotel here. I loved the antique feel of the place. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Interesting boutique hotel & athletic club. Emphasis is on "club, " dress code, cigars at the front desk, and lots of dark wood.

I enjoyed being on that place so much, is was excellent well organized space, and the food I loved it, it was delicious! I dont know if that was a common menu but that chicken medallions what a delight!, and the waiters very friendly and kind and super attentive with any request that I have asked no complains! maybe the only thing is on the street it sure be a sing how to get there because I got last and drive many times so for someone not from saint louis is very confusing but once I got there I loved the atmosphere.

Attend Normandy High School's Class of 1977's Reunion. A very nice venue for this affair. The food was a buffet served by MAC. It was very good although they did run out of chicken. Over all a very nice place.

Great Place, great architecture, much history, hidden secret… glad I found… we used for rooms for the evening, the banquet rooms look awesome…

They bring out fresh tiny cinnamon pecan rolls as well as fresh rolls and butter right away. Service is fast, courteous without being obtrusive. A service charge (tip) is included so your $13.95 buffet with a drink is $20 but so worth it. Not only is this place very classy but the food is fresh, tasty and good for you. I rarely give 5 stars but this place earned it.

Beautiful venue, great food, excellent service, wonderful Coordinator, and delicious cake! It was a "Wow" wedding reception. Couldn't be happier with our decision to host our daughter's reception here.

Over the top excellent — the staff, food and facilities are fabulous — our daughters wedding weekend at the MAC was the best weekend of my life — thank you Missouri Athletic Club staff — we will never forget your caring, honest and gracious hospitality.

Staff was friendly and location was great. Room needs to be updated. Housekeeping needs to do a better job at cleaning.

Fun place to go after a ballgame or other downtown event. Great staff with very attentive service.

I've been to the MAC twice and enjoyed it both times. Their steaks are excellent.

Beautiful hotel. Very eery though, and I believe it's haunted. Stayed there for one night and had weird things happen. I've had my fair share of staying in haunted hotels but this was a totally different experience.

Wow, wow, wow. I visited the MAC for a Rotary Club lunch on a Thursday and cannot put into words how beautiful this building is, how friendly the staff is and just the overall vibe of it. It's a little on the expensive side for drinks but worth it for feel of this place. I got there for lunch and had a amazing meal, had some martini's on the 4th floor then moved down to the 1st floor for a cigar and some scotch. When I die, I want to wake up in a heaven that is this place. There is a very special feeling there, the building being over 100 years old, the reason it was built in the first place, it was just spectacular. The people at the bar were friendly and David was a great bartender. Every single time I come to this city I am visiting here, cannot put into words how much I love this place.

Fantastic Banquet Hall! Great for large events! If you're group has anything to do with athletics, from looking at the name, it'll feel like the perfect location!

Decent hotel for the price. Wish the rooms were more renovated. Feels like a luxury hotel stuck in 1980. However, what the rooms lack the staff makes up for ten fold.

My daughter and I spent two nights here and our stay was great. The location is wonderful. Close to the Arch, Busch Stadium and other attractions. Convenient parking, employees were helpful, rooms were very comfortable. I would definitely go again.

Great lunch buffet with a variety of high-end food. Soup and salad, pastas, sandwiches, gourmet sides, carved meat, and desserts.

Just stay there last night nice but very disappointed when we found out we had to pay for parking and to go swimming we was told that this was a very good for a family to stay in it was not and we was told that we had free breakfast but that was a lie to much to pay when I could had payed just as much going to something better and everything would had been provided for us.

Enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice. Restaurant and bar staff made us feel very much at home. Visited with some club members that welcomed us as well. Will stay again.

Excellent location if you are going to an event at edward jones dome.

Very, weird place a relative worked here for over 10yrs. Stuffy and overpriced not worth it. Hopefully it improves in the 21st century.

Hidden fees, extra expenses, and dishonest/dissatisfying treatment. Biggest mistake I made in a while was joining this club.
