As a Globalist (quite often, we stay at various Hyatt properties), I was shocked at the uncleanliness of our room, windows, and chairs. Soap scum was all over the faucet and handles in the sink. I asked for this to be cleaned our first night and it was. This is the first dirty Hyatt we have ever stayed at. I asked to have all glass cleaned the following day. It wasn’t done even by the next day, despite hotel personnel following up on this. It finally was done and we comp’ed a bottle of wine, retail coat of $6.99. We would never stay there again. Also, I requested a large quiet room on a higher floor. We got the second to the highest floor, the third. It was on the corner of Iberville and Dauphine. The first night the noise of a truck backing up, car horns, and one person yelling, woke me up each time. I finally slept with earplugs and was woken up leaa after that. Our friends had a room with no cleaning issues. Their room was actually quite nicer than ours and we had used the free suite upgrade. They paid $45 higher than the standard rate so they could get a larger room. While ours was much larger, we both complained of no drawers other than one in the nightstand. Where do they think you’re supposed to put your stuff? We were there for five nights and traveling for 10. So, we had a lot of stuff. There were two drawers near the refrigerator inside the cabinet, but we were planning on storing snacks in there. To top things off, when I complained about the filthy chair, with about 25 stains on it, as we entered our room the first day, the bell captain (the only person that handles luggage and taxes etc. ) made a big deal of it. He was doing it on purpose, almost mocking me, and took the chair out and put in the hallway. Then, when we left we were about to walk out and get our own cab when he said he would handle it. Unfortunately, he had to handle something else first which took him about one minute. Then, he made a phone call to get our cab. We found that odd because he usually just waves them over. We get in a really nice car, not the standard cab with the rates on the window like we expected. We get to the airport and she states that we owe her $40 instead of $35 or 36, the flat rate for taxis to the airport. The Bell Captain must’ve called a friend, in this case, maybe even his daughter. Her car was really nice as was she. So, we paid her, but it was just done unprofessionally and underhandedly.
