For starters, we booked this hotel at a very good rate and it is located very centrically and close to the French Quarter. With that being said, there is absolutely NOTHING else positive about our stay. First of all, the manager was not there. This was not a huge deal at first because we did arrive close to midnight. This became a bigger deal when we were being charged more than out confirmation email stated. Since the manager was not there we just had to wait. Next, one of our bedrooms smelled incredibly moldy and there was female makeup on one of the pillows. We were able to move past that until we saw a cockroach come in between the door and bed frame. This was the room my in-laws (celebrating their 30th anniversary) and she is TERRIFIED of bugs. Especially cockroaches. When we called to get a new room they said nothing could be done because the manager was not there. The lady at the front desk was also kind enough to suggest we deal with it because, "This is New Orleans. " Needless to say she slept about 30 minutes all night. The following morning we asked for additional towels for one of the rooms. These could not arrive any sooner than 9 AM for whatever reason. We decided to cut our stay short and just move to another hotel because we were obviously not going to enjoy our stay in these moldy, insect infested rooms. The new person at the front desk said that they were in fact not a Wyndham hotel, but rather a franchise that just pays to "use" the Wyndham name. No refunds or guarantees were promised because, of course, the manager wasn't there.
