While we were out for the day, we came back to find someone had been in our room. Our personal belongs had been moved. Bathroom towels were on the floor. Lights were all on. Food from the fridge had been removed, opened and was sitting on the counter. When we called down to the office and let them know what happened, Robin (manager) actually asked us if we were sure we didn't leave the room that way. We were told no cleaning would be done until a guest checks out. Maintenance wouldn't be in there unless a ticket was made. Robin finally came to our room so we could show her what we walked in on. She was very rude, unapologetic and just nasty with us. She then told us that maybe it was housekeeping but the person freaked out and left when they knew they were in the wrong room. As soon as you walked in our room, you could clearly see guests were still there. If housekeeping did enter our room by mistake, as soon as they seen our things everywhere they should have just left. The cops were called. After Robin left our room, we never seen or heard from her again. When the cop arrived we told him what had happened. He went down and talked with the staff. Came back about 20 minutes later and explained it was a housekeeping mixup. He talked with the guy who was in our room through a translator. I get mistakes happen but going through guests belongings and removing food from the fridge. Pulling towels down and leaving them on the floor?

This was a great family friendly dog friendly resort. We loved the free entertainment, the sandy private beach, the pools&hot tub, the kayaks, and was such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Just had my daughter’s first birthday party there last weekend and it was the best. The room we had it in was beautiful! Perfect size, great location, super clean, patio area, attached to an arcade. Just amazing. We also stayed at the resort and it’s so super nice. Everything is so well kept and clean and the location is so awesome! Seriously great place to stay in the Dells! ❤️

Nice place, some activity for the kids to enjoy with, clean room, the only not so good is the pool and is too small, but still we enjoy our stay and short vacation.

My daughter and I just stayed there this weekend. The first room (412) had a terrible mold and mildew smell that gave us a instant headache. (Ive smelled better nursing homes) There was holes in the walls, dirty sheets on the bed, and toilet seat was broken. There was mold on the refrigerator and garbage left from the last visitors outside. We went and told the front desk and met with the owner. I showed her pictures and e mailed them to her that night. They moved us to a different room. 312. We left to go see some of the dells and get dinner. We came back late and our new room had a package of cheese curds and a partial drank tea in the fridge. It had a opened bag of ice in the freezer as well. There was lights out in the room and the smell of stale cigars. We stayed away as much as possible as we were required by my daughters cheer comp to stay here for her to compete. Other parents from our gym who stayed had their own bad experience here as well. The owner has not reached out to us from the e mail sent Friday night. They did absolutely nothing but say Sorry. They still charged full price. I'm very disappointed in a place that says "resort in its name. Rooms are outdated, tiny parking lot, arcade really had nothing up to date for the kids to play.

We loved our stay in room 425 last night. We were staying at another resort but the rooms were so loud that we couldn’t stay another night. We found Bakers Sunset Bay on a whim. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The rooms are quite and the absolute cleanest. We plan to return with our family. We’ll always choose a quaint resort like yours over the big guys. You truly care about the guest experience. I’d recommend all my friends and family stay here. You should be very proud of your team ✨. Well done!

The meeting room was a fantastic rental for a wedding shower especially during Covid. Very clean and spacious. You made this a very easy comfortable event for us and the family that stayed at the resort said the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

We stayed Tuesday through Friday and left just in time. Thursday night the whole place was packed… it was people who acted like they owned the place, taking over the common areas. We had requested a lake view with balcony and two queen beds. When we arrived the front desk said they gave us the two room suite because they didn't have any of the other available. Great… we thought we were getting an upgrade. No way. We were on the ground floor with tons of activity right outside our door. We have small children, so they go to bed fairly early, but the only way we could sleep was to crank the air conditioner so you couldn't hear anything. You could hear people running down the hallway all day and night… all hours. People smoking right outside our door so we couldn't leave the door open for fresh air, which would've been nice because the whole room smelled of mildew and stale smoke. Carpet has obviously not been replaced in about 20 years and tile floor in the kitchen and bathroom the same. Everything was so dated and did not feel clean. You are supposed to wash your own dishes before you leave, but who would trust the previous people to wash your dishes? The killer was that the water in the shower would never stay a consistent temperature. One moment it was comfortable and the next second scalding hot… and the next second freezing cold. I didn't feel comfortable putting my kids in there.

I love the location, nice rooms. We will probably return in the future.

Beautiful lake view. We went during the week so it was very quiet. It got busy on the Friday we were leaving. Lots of out door games. Small pool but it was slow so it’s was fine.

Best location for all families who would like a pool and lake in one spot. Not to mention Dog friendly! for got to mention there is an awesome swingset and kayaks and an abundance of grills to use! LOVE THIS PLACE!

I have stayed at this resort over many years! Always! they put there customers comfort as a priority. The have maintained quality and hospitality as a family run business eventhough they sit among the giant chains… Excellent traditional family or couples get away…

Rooms were clean, beautiful view of the lake even in the winter. Pool was perfect for kids 10 and under.

We just had our first stay. The staff was exceptional and very accommodating. Our rooms were clean and quaint. The location is amazing. Super quiet but just minutes from all the excitement in town.

My children and I loved our stay at Sunset Bay Resort. Kids stayed busy with so many activities available. We loved the fire show on the beach! Perfect for families to relax away from the big waterpark resorts, and still close enough to enjoy all that Wisconsin Dells has to offer.
We will be back!

Went to Bakers for an anniversary getaway and it was an amazing time! There is so much to do, that you don't have to leave the resort. 2 pools, a beach, hot tub, outdoor games, and even a fire pit! Thank you Bakers and your amazing, accommodating staff for a wonderful anniversary weekend.

My husband and I have stayed at Bakers Bay multiple years and are never disappointed. We travel with our 2 little dogs and the staff makes all feel welcome. Rooms are clean and views are breathtaking.
The location is close enough to ALL the action yet far enough away to be able to relax. Love this place!

While the room are a bit dated their service gets 5 stars from me, last minute labor day plans and they were able to accommodate us. If our stat was longer their outdoor activities sounded and looked awesome! Will definitely be staying here more often!

Family oriented, clean, Staff was perfect, quiet, very nice beach and pools. Left my 150.00 razor there they shipped to me super fast. Thumbs up!

We stayed here for the second part of our trip. I wish we would have stayed here all the days of our trip. It was relaxing and away from traffic and crowds. In the back they have a bonfire at night and a beach with a great view of lake Delton. I will be returning here when I come back to Wisconsin!

My family has stayed here so many times I cannot count it… tons of memories! My kids are all grown up now but we started going here when they were so little. Prices are reasonable, the pool is great for kids, the beach is nice… once I brought up my boat and kept it at their dock the whole trip. I recommend this resort to others!

We live and run a business in the dells. We use Sunset Bay resort for all our friends and family visits. This is such a great family run resort, clean, well maintained and relaxing! Great place to connect with family and just enjoy your time off. You can walk around the lake on a nice paved walkway, 5.5 miles, take a kayak paddle, sit on the beach and have a drink, We love this resort and highly recommend it!

Stayed for four nights. Indoor and outdoor pools to keep kids entertained. Room enough for our family of 5. Walking distance to Lost Canyon tour and driving distance to everytbing in Wisconsin Dell's.

Yikes… I thought this place looked like a fun place to bring my family. Seeing the first 3 comments that popped up on your page makes me realize that I'm wrong.

Our room was perfect. Everything looked updated and very comfortable. We absolutely loved it and all the amenities.

We stayed in the Grand Canyon room complex, with 2 bedrooms, bunk beds and a furnished kitchen. Overall, it was a great place to stay, very clean, and well-furnished. Our cars were parked next to our rooms, so it was a plus with getting things from the car. The kitchen was adequately furnished, but it was lacking in exhaust vents. You have to open the windows and/or doors if you are cooking, otherwise the fire alarm would go off. There is wide array of amenities in the resort and so far it was good enough for our group — — an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a sandy beach with places for sports and games and kids playgrounds, and a bonfire place. The lake front of the beach isn't that wide and since it caves in at the resort, the view of the lake isn't that extensive. I'm into photography hobby so I was looking into this but the location of the resort with lake on one side and wooded canyons on the other is giving it rather an atmosphere of nature with frequent sightings of deers and fawns and compensates for photography hobbyists, not to mention that the resort takes care of its landscaping throughout the resorts area. Very cool in my opinion. It is also quiet, even in the parking lot area. The staffs are friendly and courteous. The only thing I disliked in the resort is its free Wi-Fi. Of all the resorts we've been in the Dells area, this has the worst free Wi-Fi of them all. There's a code they give on check-in and it connects with no problem.

Stayed with my family over Memorial Weekend. 3 out of the 13 left with bedbug bites. The owner is denying and claiming they called in ecolabs to inspect and found nothing. 3 people from 3 different households have bites. All 3 of us went to Minute Clinic and Immediate Care and it was in fact bed bug bites. We have given the owner Dawn all of our photos and doctor visits to her and she’s still refusing to give us our money back. Extremely upset that the proper cleaning was not done. They were on NBC Chicago news for BEDBUGS a few weeks before we went and we gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was taken care of. We were sadly mistaken! We posted on Facebook and she has deleted comments and hid posts of the pictures and doctors notes. Stay at your own risk!

Dawn I spoke with you the day after we got home and had a pleasant conversation with you. I told you of the bedbug incident and supplied you with medical records and all other information you asked for. You seem to be hung up on a note that somebody left in the hotel room. Which by the way has no bearing or weight to this conversation. After you saw the records from the doctors. You started to deny accountability. At no time did I ever threaten you. What I said to you was all were asking is for our money back and I’ll make sure nothing gets posted or you get a bad rap. My daughters and their kids were highly upset and I thought this would be a viable option for your inability to manage your complex Sunset Bay resort from bedbugs. I have talk to legal counsel they can’t believe the position you’re taking. I’m still open for the return of our money. If not. Will have to take further legal action. The balls in your court Dawn. You have my phone number you can contact me at anytime. To be continued. For now every one do your homework. Sunset Bay resort has been accused of bedbugs quite recently.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. It is fabulous. The hotel staff and owner are always hospitable. I have recommended this hotel to many people who all return raving about their fabulous stay.

Yet another Wisconsin Dells establishment with bed bugs! People should realize how common this is in tourist areas like this. It is no surprise that there is always a resort/hotel/motel/etc. With this problem. It comes with having hundreds of thousands of people sleeping in the same beds every year. This just happened May 7th! Tourist season hasn't started!

BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS! My daughter and friends woke up with bedbug bites all over them this morning. Looked at the mattresses and sure enough… Infestation in this room for sure. Hotel just refunded today and now instead of going to water park, heading to laundromat. Traumatic and scary experience and now trip ruined! I don't know why they're open right now. EVERYONE BEWARE! I just spoke with front desk and the lady said everyone is overreacting. Taking home bedbugs is a health and costly issue. I just spoke with the lady at the front desk as a concerned parent and she told me that everyone is overreacting (11 and 12 year olds who were bitten by bedbugs then woke up to seeing them on their beds) and that there's a million bugs in the world. I said there are but what are you guys doing to handle this? She immediately cut me off and had an attitude. This is not how you handle such an issue!

This is a great place to stay. Not for the rich snobs from Chicago that drive Land Rovers. Most likely those are their reviews that give it less that 3 stars. Come here with an open mind, not looking for fancy and modern and enjoy your vacation you will not be disappointed.

Great customer service! Checked in very late, the lady let us use a roll away bed! Awesome, updated rooms! Great place.

We were spending two nights in the jacuzzi suite for our Anniversary. The room was nice until we went to sleep. The wall unit woke us up every few hours and we didn't get much sleep. We decided to not bother staying the second night. When we went to check out early the suggestions we were offered to remedi the situation weren't helpful. She asked if we tried turning it off, it was snowing outside and cold, there was no way we could keep warm with it off. It was also offered to move us to a different room, but we figure the wall units would all be the same. She simply said no refunds and we left and never intend to go back. I am not a light sleeper by any means, but it was directly next to the bed, at head level! What a waste of money.

Very comfortable stay. Very cozy rooms. Friendly staff. And I saw a fire spinner on a Sunday night during the summer on their Beach. It was amazing.

Rooms are nothing special but still nice, staff is friendly and helpful. Wish the pool could stay open longer but hard to control rowdy guests 24/7 I guess. Come here every year and they welcome us. No complaints.

My favorite place on the lake. Beautiful setting, just enough amenities to make you comfortable and clean nicely appointed rooms. Pool, beach, fire pit and tall pine trees make you feel secluded and promote relaxing. Great family owned resort shows visitors a little bit of what the Dells was like before Waterparks took over. If that's your thing, don't worry… they'll probably have passes for you to be able to enjoy one of those if you're interested. Just ask at the front desk. Great for families and larger groups… with areas to gather for Christmas parties or smaller Corporate events. Laundry facilities and game room on site and centrally located in Lake Delton on the east side of the lake. Rates are very reasonable and rooms are clean.

This resort was priced just right. There are so many amenities! A small kitchen in our room, out door grill, two pools one indoor and one outdoor, a splash pad, a small arcade room, a sandy beach, lake front property, canoes, row boats, a small dock, tons of beach games, and an out door fire pit! It was so quiet here. We definitely will be going back.

Great hotel with an indoor and outdoor pool on a raised patio overlooking Lake Delton. The location is perfect for getting anywhere in the Dells in a short amount of time and you can always get a shuttle depending on where you're going. (Ho-chunk and Bobbers both have ones) Their indoor pool has a slide, a kiddie slide, and a hot tub. There are docs for boats, plenty of sand, and a sand volleyball court. The beach is shared with the neighboring residents, but all are friendly. You really can't go wrong staying here.

I’ve been staying at Sunset Bay Resort since I was around seven years old. Even now at 23 I love coming here and staying. It brings back so many lovely memories! Wish to stay in the summer but they always are booked up, but I’m always good with a stay in the spring or fall! I love the pool, even the outdoor, and the scenery is so nice! The lake is my favorite, I wonder if kids still get up early to find colorful seashells at the shore like I use to! The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and very nice. I love staying in the jacuzzi suite! Would always recommend to friends or family to stay here!

Such a nice little place to get away to! My wife, kids, and I decided to meet my parents up there for a little getaway this weekenf. We were really surprised by how nice it was. There was a fun little pool inside that had a little kid slide and one that was bigger, kayaks and rowboats, and it wasn't far from the strip. The staff was very nice and the beds… Oh my god, the beds. They were medium soft mattresses! I had the best sleep I've had in almost 2 years in that bed. We are totally coming back next fall.

I went to Sunset Bay Resorts for my honeymoon. Loved it so much we ended up extending our trip one more night and switched rooms. I can honestly say I loved the room facing the beach more than our original room with the jacuzzi. Still, no regrets because we had a fantastic time. I would definitely recommend Sunset for couples It's a good place to stay, quiet, away from the busy strip yet still only 2 to 3 minutes from everything. They have a great beach as well as an indoor and outdoor pool. The indoor pool has a small slide. If you go on the right nights, they have a large fire pit and a campfire singer. The staff was amazing, accommodating and very helpful. I'm going back for my anniversary for sure.

This is a good place to stay. It's quiet, being off the busy strip yet still only 2 to 3 minutes from Noahs Ark and Olympus. It's got a great beach as well as an indoor and outdoor pool. The indoor pool has a small slide. If you go on the right nights, they have a large fire pit and a campfire singer. I would recommend this over any of the motels along the strip.

Our family had a great time and I'd like to come back. NO issues with our big dog, plenty of areas to walk him with bags provided, and the dog treats at check-in were a nice surprise. The indoor pool is simple with just two slides, but our 5 and 7 yo were happy. The beach, kayaks, and fire pit really added to our stay — the sheltered cove and calm water were perfect for the kids to work on their paddling skills. (I also enjoyed my afternoon of watching the kids play in the sand from the comfort of a kayak seat, paddling in and out of the cove when I liked. ) So here's the deal — this is NOT the most ultra super modern fancy schmancy place you'll find. And there will probably be plenty of young (and not so young) people trekking in and out on various adventures. And there will occasionally be dogs barking. And the lake won't look like a swimming pool. But everything I saw was clean and well-cared-for (with the excusable exception of the life jackets which are at the mercy of the elements and other guests and which were fully safe and functioning. ) The staff was nothing but helpful and friendly, we were granted late check-out on request, our room was comfortable, we liked having a balcony for drying suits and for dog relaxation, I was satisfied with the discount on water park admission (Kalahari) and if we go again I'll want us to leave more free time for just relaxing and enjoying the motel. Thanks for a lovely time!

Nice variety of pools and not overly crowded. Nice lake view and quiet. Had unique fire show on beach entertaining on Monday. Liked the wade pool and that all were heated! Great location. Probably good for dells. King studio is a little small with 2 adults and toddler. Wish had more room. Would recommend better door locks as chain or upper lock on interior for security and keep kid opening door since no deadbolt. Bed was average. Kitchenette was dated and small. Simple ungrades like paper towel holder or shelves above sink would provided better working area. Room smelled strange and furnishing average. Floors creak glad was on top floor.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location. AC in our room never got the room cooler than 76 degrees. Reported the problem maintenance showed up quickly and advised that it was the side of the building we were on and since he had only been on the job two weeks he would have his boss look at it because the air coming out felt fine to him. Two days after the fact it is actually cooler outside (71) than in our room (76) at 9pm. I would open the door but there is a large family reunion going on right outside our room so privacy would be non existing. They take extremely good care of the grounds and the rooms and everyone is very polite. It is a great place to bring young ones but I couldn't recommend it if you are looking for relaxation. I doubt we will consider it for any return trip.

Great facility, clean, comfortable rooms. Love the free use kayaks, rowboats. Ping pong, badminton, volleyball on their nice lakefront beach. Lots to do there, all who work there knows the area pretty well, so can point you in the correct direction. Wisconsin Dells is like a smaller, cleaner less busy, Branson, with better restaurant choices. And cheese. Lots of cheese. This was a last minute trip for 6 of us, as Southwest Airlines screwed up our trip to Maine.

We will definitely not be returning to this place!. We called them to reserve and we specifically asked if we get noahs ark passes with reservation. We even talked to the manager and she told us we get them for every day off out stay. So we booked the room. Upon arrival we were told we don't get any water park passed at all not to mention we have three small kids waiting to go to the water park. The people at the desk told us the water park passed would be 28 dollars a piece. Which is completely ridiculous after thinking they would be included with our stay!. Our room was not very clean and smelled of pets!. We made the best of our vacation still but we will find a better place next year!

The rooms were pretty clean. The beds were creaky but comfortable. Our air conditioning kept turning on and off even when we turned it off. Not a huge deal, more of a annoyance. The boats were good to take out but are hard to get when more people arrive. I did like the big bathroom. Even though it was no smoking on balconies I did see people smoking. The pools were ok but there were alot of younger kids and teenagers with no adult supervision that sometimes would be loud and take over the dolphin slide. I would admit with so many people including dogs it was quieter than I expected.

Loved my stay! The staff was wonderfully friendly. Our room was very clean and the whole place smelled very clean and fresh. The beach was beautiful and very well kept. The price was great. Loved the complimentary makeup remover wipes. I felt at home the entire 3-night stay. I would definitely make this my go-to lodging when back in the Dells. I am extremely pleased.

I love this place! It's so not what I expected. The staff was super friendly, the room was HUGE and very well kept. The price was great. I can't wait to stay here again. They also have a really awesome space for parties which we took advantage of for a bridal shower. Very cute decor, lots of space. Highly recommend.

The room was very nice and clean. The area around the hotel was very quiet and peaceful. The free kalahari theme park tickets and discounted water park tickets were a great deal. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and we're happy to help when asked.

A little older but nice for what it is. Indoor Pool area is small but access to Lake Delton is nice.

I am in the tour and transportation business and after working with many many hotels, you will not find a better location in the Dells. The lake view is unbelievable. The service is also great. Everyone we transport there really has great things to say. This is a great place.

Beautiful resort and beach! Rooms are clean and roomy, staff was very professional and nice, and the kids loved all of the amenities. Not to mention our dogs were happy to be welcomed with a bag of treats and great accommodations. Love that they have pet friendly rooms! Will definitely be back! :)

Great package for getting away for the weekend with the kids and dog. We thought the room was in great condition and clean for the price. It was great being able to have our dog with us and they recommended Pet Resort in the Dells for Doggy Day Care. Was an added sense of security knowing our dog was having fun while we were out for the day. I would recommend others with dogs stay and enjoy the facilities. My only conern for the resort is the indoor pool. The tile is extremely unsafe when wet and very slippery. My 1 1/2 yr old took an immediate fall when she stepped away. I would suggest an upgrade to the flooring to lower liability concerns. Otherwise we will stay again in the future.

Best experience in the Dells. My fiance and I wanted a quick weekend getaway, and we came upon this Resort. When I saw the price, I was shocked. $140 for a Jacuzzi suite with a king bed? I thought it was too good to be true. But, I can happily report that this not the case. This resort is excellent! The rooms were spacious and clean, the beach was great, and the staff was extremely friendly! It's nicely tucked away from downtown too! I would recommend this place to anyone I meet.

We reserved a 2-bedroom suite with full kitchen for our group of 7 people, 2 couples with 3 children under the age of 2. If you've travelled with infants, you know that routine is important, so our plan was to put the kids to bed in their respective rooms at their usual bedtime and enjoy some adult time in the evenings in the adjoining living room. When we arrived at Baker's, we were given a sheet with the balance due at check in, it was $300 less than expected. Odd. So I checked the room type and realized that it had been changed with no prior warning. I informed the desk clerk that there had been a mistake, we were supposed to be in a 2-bedroom suite, not a standard double queen room. He demanded to see my reservation confirmation, I showed it to him. He looked on the computer and said the owner had changed our reservation and he would have to talk to her. The hotel was full and there was nothing else he could do. I explained the importance of having a full kitchen and 2 separate bedrooms given that we were travelling with such small children. We were then checked into the wrong room type against my wishes while we waited for him to reach the manager/owner (it was labor day weekend, one of the biggest holiday weekends of the year, the fact that there was no on-duty manager boggles my mind). My husband stayed in the lobby to pressure them into finding a solution. Finally, the owner/manager was reached via phone.

We were in The Dells having a couples vacation, and I can honestly say this was a pretty nice hotel for the price. It's in a back area of The Dells thats quiet and Only a 10 minutes drive to the strip area. They made our beds and cleaned our room nicely, and the pool was nice but there was a lot of kids. The only bad things was there was no breakfest at all, and when we asked about the Firepit they just gave me newspaper and matches. You would think with it being cold outside they would already have a fire going? Overall nice stay. ALSO keep in mind that the "Free Theme Park Tickets DO NOT include the waterpark:) ".

I really am happy with my stay at sunset, my only complaint is that the walls and floors seemed paperthin. I've never stayed in a hotel and heard so much noise. Maybe we just had bad neighbors. Also, the tiny TV in the room was irritatingly small.

I stay at this MOTEL based on the reviews, bad decision. The room needs to be remodeled, badly. The second day our room was never cleaned. When I notified the owner she sai the maids leaves at noon and we were still in the room, I said I was not notified upon check-in. She say the clerk did not know! the next day the beds were made but the sheets were never changed. There was crumbs and stains from my daughter eating a donut and trash on the bathroom floor. I told the clerk she offered me some sheets, she said she could not do anything. I left a message for the owner to contact me, they never did. Also the pool was nasty, their was dirt and sand in the bottom of the pool.
