I loved this Hotel, the dogs, the staff, the friends we met, and the rooftop was open until 2am. The perfect homebase for Summerfest — only 2 blocks away! Will be back! ❤️

Valet service is absolutely terrible, they damaged my brand new truck when they sideswiped the steel Bullard turning into the alley to go park it across the street, we noticed it right away and took pictures and provided them to them they screwed us around for over a month telling us they were opening a claim during that time frame I was told that the valet manager abruptly quit. Today I received notice from their insurance that they are not going to cover it on their end because they don’t believe they did it. Save yourself a lot of time and go somewhere else nobody there wants to take any responsibility for their actions. They had every opportunity to make this right on their part, now it’s just going to cost more time and money.

All the workers at the hotel went out of their way to exceed my expectations! The room was also clean & relaxing. The hotel is beautiful abs very clean! Highly recommend! We will be coming back!

I had a truly wonderful Staycation at The Kimpton Journeyman. Safety precautions were followed by all staff and everything was very clean and organized. Excellent front desk who treated me so well. Acknowledging my Birthday and pointing out all the amenities of the Hotel. My King Spa Suite was perfect. Great view, excellent location! I truly enjoyed the room. Indulgent soaking Tub. You can bring your pooch if you like. Dog bowls provided in every room. Rooftop Bar and wonderful food at The hotel Restaurant. Superb brunch. I will go back in a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed for two nights for our wedding. Everything was fantastic! The room was beautiful and staff were great. Even though we're local, I can see us staying there in the future for date nights! I love how pet friendly the hotel is — had it not been our wedding weekend we would have taken our pups with us. From check-in to check-out everyone was wonderful. Thank you to the staff for making our wedding weekend relaxing!

We have been staying at the Journeyman a lot recently because I have been having procedures and appointments at Froedtert. The staff and management here are absolutely amazing and always go above and beyond. I picked this hotel because I am an IHG club member and they are in the IHG club family. The very first stay the valet was wonderful and the check in process was so easy. They had upgraded us and the gentleman checking us in recommended an excellent Italian restaurant within walking distance. Since then we have stayed several times. The manager, Patrick, has reached out personally on several occasions just to welcome us back and thank us for staying. He is absolutely fantastic and takes great pride in his staff and hotel. I let him know that this time we would be bringing our kids with us and he made sure their first stay was also extra special. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I have also checked out their rooftop bar, it was very nice and the drinks and service were great! We will definitely be staying here whenever we come to Milwaukee.

We were disappointed that we could not get room service and that we could not get coffee at all until 7:00 am from the neighboring grab & go counter. Also no shuttle to Miller park on game day. Great restroom in the room though😆

I was pretty disappointed. We went for a wedding where a block of rooms were reserved months in advance but they had everyone scattered over the entire hotel, even situations where 1 person reserved 2 rooms were split up. Then, a large number of the rooms weren’t ready until 6pm when it clearly states 3pm check-in. They were barely polite about it but no explanations or offer of any way to make it up to anyone. The bride and groom had to share their room with half the family so we could get ready for the rehearsal dinner! I understand that things happen but I expect a lot more from a nice hotel to attempt to make us comfortable.

We had a rough start with the hostess at breakfast. The toilet ran for almost 2 hrs at 2 AM. That was super fun! This is nice but the Iron Horse is beyond great. Samantha at check in was Very nice!

We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was amazing.

We went to the restaurant on June 22nd, and I bought a steak and it was so fatty and under cooked. I wouldn’t recommend the steak. Then we went to the rooftop bar and it had an excellent environment and the drinks were delicious.

Valet service is a plus and friendly. Helpful and friendly check-in staff. On a business trip but definitely on the top of my list for next personal trip to Milwaukee.

My husband and I spent the night here last night for our fifth year anniversary. The stay was comfortable and for the most part enjoyable. However, the hotel was full of wedding guests for a few nearby weddings, and we understood the hotel and its staff were busy. But we spent most of our stay feeling forgotten or brushed aside. It took over an hour to receive our bags once we entered our room, had to call for them, and one bag was lost for an additional half an hour. That w…as fine and we worked around it. Staff was otherwise kind and helpful. I called before our stay to let the hotel know that we were celebrating our anniversary and we were told “something nice” would be included during our stay. After several hours with no sign of this, I called around 7pm to confirm when it might be brought up. I didn’t want to miss it! The front desk was polite and I was told to wait because the kitchen was busy. And then nothing ever came. I didn’t want to have to keep bothering the front desk so I gave up around 9pm. I imagine it was simply forgotten, but having two experiences like this made us feel secondary to the hotel’s other guests. This was our second stay at the Journeyman and I will probably stay again, but this was a disappointing experience.

This hotel is amazing. It's hip, quirky, and modern with rustic touches — but still welcoming and unpretentious. If we could give the staff 10 stars, we would! They were beyond exceptional. The valet brought my cellphone to our room instead of the front desk when I left it in the car. The front desk was so gracious. The room service was excellent (seriously the cheese plate with rose — amazing! ). The housekeeping (which is always a problem for me) was impeccable. Our room was beautiful. The view was great. The bed was comfy. The bathtub made me sad to go home. Happy hour was so much fun! Next trip, we'll stay in a Kimpton hotel because the Journeyman set the bar quite high.

Beautiful patio, server was aloof and drinks pretty pricey. $15 for 4-6 oz of wine. Delicious but ouch!

Great location in Milwaukee’s Third Ward. Walkable to many restaurants and the Milwaukee Public Market. The room we stayed in had excellent linens and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We attended the free happy hour for hotel guests and enjoyed some nice wine and gourmet pizza. The finance manager was hosting the happy hour, and he couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming. If you like a walkable city location, industrial chic decor and a well appointed rooftop bar, stay here.

The drinks were weak and overpriced! Our waitress outside was very rude. She had to point out to us after we have been sitting there for almost an hour (Her first time stopping at our table) that we stole someones spot. I wish I would of got her name. We asked the people who were sitting there before we sat down if they were done, they were finished and getting ready to leave. They did stand around for a little bit but that doesnt give the waitress right to be rude. We had 8 people in our group. We had to go into the bar to order our drinks everytime. This was my first experience in Milwaukee and to be honest, if I'm ever back in Milwaukee I will not visit this bar.

Loved this hotel! Super cute, really nice bathroom and comfy bed. The only negative note I have is that the cleaning service came super early in the morning and left a note to say sorry we missed you. I feel like most hotels should know to come in the afternoon to clean. But, overall really cute place.

The location is perfect for walking around the city. The hotel entrance is right on the street so you may miss it if you're not looking as it blends in well with the surroundings. Once you enter, you'll notice a really stylish lobby with a great coffee bar/restaurant to your right. The rooms are great too. You need to tap your key card in the elevator to get to your floor. The room itself carries the unqiue design style while providing you with a massive tub, inside the shower. Let that sink in. There is a closed off shower the size of a typical bathroom that has a bathtub inside it. Very cool. The staff is great and professional as you would expect with such a fine hotel. Would highly recommend.

From the moment we pulled up, the staff was friendly and helpful! There were shops and places to eat. It was walking distance to Summerfest. The beds were super comfy and they were pet friendly! A wonderful weekend to be had! Will certainly be back!

Extremely poorly run rooftop. A tremendous shame considering the missed revenue opportunity for the property and the poor taste it leaves in the mouths of the people who support Milwaukee’s nightlife. There is no excuse after being open for 3 seasons. Unfathomable slow service at the bar and long wait times; people get quoted 30-40 minute wait times and meanwhile there’s not a remotely close to full crowd upstairs.

After Summerfest, my sister and I went to the rooftop bar, The Outsider, for some drinks. I had a gin and tonic (tasted exactly one should) and my sister had a glass of wine. Due to an ordinance the outside portion of the bar closes at midnight with last call at 11:30. The inside closes at 1am. The view was nice with excellent sunset views. We did not try the food, but I heard good things. Pro: The fact it's a rooftop (currently, only a few in Milwaukee), numerous personal gas fire pits, private ambiance with comfortable seating, shuffle board, large Connect Four game, and bag toss. The bar manager was pleasant and very attentive. Cons: prices (you're paying for the view), the view could be better but you're in an old factory district so what do you expect, winter exposure (but they have excellent heaters), not enough Connect Four games.

Great experience! I booked a room to surprise my wife for our anniversary. I noted it was our anniversary on the reservation and the hotel had wine, cheese platter and card waiting there in the room for us! Amazing! My wife loved it (and it made me look really good. ) Thanks so much to the Kimpton staff for doing that! Also, they gave us room 525 and our anniversary (and stay) was May 25. If that was on purpose it was sheer genius. Highly recommend a stay here for any occasion.

Clean, Friendly and all new hotel. I have stayed here multiple times and I am never disappointed. The staff is thoughtful. The rooms are modern. The rooftop is especially nice and the noise doesn't come down into the rooms. Overall a fantastic place to say when you are in Milwaukee.

We had a really pleasant stay. The concierge was great, had fun suggestions for us, especially if you are willing to really get out and explore more than the surrounding neighborhood. We loved the rooftop hotel bar, while the cocktails were good they were a little on the sweet side but it was such a fun atmosphere and great views (even for Feb) and our waitress was so nice and helpful. Our room was very nice and I slept pretty soundly on their mattresses. The adjacent cafe on the ground floor was cute and a great place to grab some coffee or a drink. Although we may have accidentally offended the bartender when we ordered a non "Wisconsin" Old Fashioned.

It had a very nice layout. The food was pretty oily but still healthy and tasted really well. The staff made sure all the water, coffee, and soda was refilled.

Very nice, quiet, well appointed rooms. Fun rooftop bar. Fitness center. Parking is expensive. Wish they had sheers. Has hair dryer, mini bar & snacks, yoga mat, nice robes, curbless shower, body lotion, conditioner, and of course, body wash and shampoo, plus ironing board, plenty of hangers, good-sized TV, and comfortable bed. Some rooms feature drinking bowl for pets.

The venue is very fancy but in an approachable way. The valets are lovely and all the staff was very nice. The drinks were strong and the food was good. I was there for a company holiday party. I liked it a lot.

Great brunch! Coffee was better than expected, and although the menu is a bit limited, everything we had was really good. The only complaint was the stale hollandaise (we ordered in the last few minutes of brunch). Overall, I would still definitely recommend this place for brunch. The rooftop bar is awesome too!

The rooms are very nice and comfortable! The rooftop bar and lounge is also very, very cool. The only part I don't like is either you pay for valet, or you park a couple of blocks away and pay for it. Past that, can't complain.

The bar was great! Would definitely be interested in going back during the summer when the roof is open. The restaurant was good too. I ordered a plate that actually had a little too much flavor! The chocolate torte dessert was incredible.

Our experience was incredible. The staff was abundantly friendly, and room service divine. The treated us like royalty our entire stay. Upon hearing it was my and my significant other's anniversary, we were treated to a bottle of champagne! This is by far the only hotel I'll be using from now on!

Yes, it’s a nice place for finger foods and adult type drinks. A mixed crowd that’s not too crowded. The music is middle of the road easy listening. It’s more of a meet and greet type place. Located on the 9th floor part of the mezzanine is an open outdoor space with a great view of south west Milwaukee. Ample seating mostly outside with open fireplaces that help keep you warm. Once the weather gets a little colder I doubt if this place will be open since about 75% of it is outdoor space. So go before it gets too cold and enjoy!

Had drinks at the rooftop bar with some friends. Awesome view, played shuffleboard on their full size board, and had some of their steak fries. It was busy but I always enjoy going up there, it's got a great vibe and view. Little pricy but worth it.

The rooftop is hip, and was as busy as you'd expect a hip and trendy hangout to be on a beautiful indian summer night. Prices are high, but you're paying for a pretty fantastic view and atmosphere so the premium feels a little more reasonable. Bar is fairly well stocked. Perhaps a bit more style than substance, but I honestly had a good time.

Had drinks on the roof. Drinks were good, but pricey. $56 for 4 drinks. There were large lawn-style games and fire pits at most tables. The fire pits produced A LOT of heat, and the staff said they could not turn it down. I was actually pretty surprised by how slow the service was for such an upscale place. Overall, good drinks, good music, cool atmosphere.

Our event was in the Founders Room and Rooftop Terrace. Very nice venue with some great views. The Artisan Pizzas were excellent. Very popular spot.

When this hotel opened up last summer we KNEW we wanted our wedding guests to stay here after our wedding (@ The Pritzlaff). After getting a block of rooms set-up (with the WONDERFUL Allyson) we began thinking about our rehearsal dinner and since we were staying at the hotel on Friday night anyways and their food is amazing we decided what the hell and hosted our rehearsal dinner in their venue space on the rooftop. Throughout the entire process The Kimpton was incredible to work with, answered all of our questions, were up-front about everything and left us with NO surprises. Come our rehearsal dinner the space was set-up beautifully, bar tender AMAZING (even knowing when to secretly cut one of our guests off without them even noticing because he had too much to drink), and the food was to-dive for. Please do yourself a favor and get the mashed potato bar! The space itself is gorgeous too. Later we headed back to our rooms and those were more than we expected as well — beautifully designed, fresh and clean. The morning of our wedding we were greeted with sweet treats and were checked on throughout the morning by the staff as we were getting ready to be sure we had everything we needed — they even brought up a high stool from the bar so our make-up artist and videographer could work easier. I mean come on hospitality at its finest. I can’t wait for an excuse to stay here again soon because it was everything we could have imagined and more.

It was a very nice and "hipster" hotel. The rooms were nice but a bit odd. No digital clock and you need the key to the mini bar to access the refrigerator. The hotel overall is very nice.

Beautiful rooftop patio! We came to visit for drinks on a Wednesday night. It was fairly busy for a weeknight and the drinks aren't cheap — which should all be expected for a hotel bar. Several cocktail waitresses approached us while waiting for our drinks to make sure we had been taken care of. Customer service is great, and our server, Cece, was very nice! It was a very nice atmosphere and I can't wait to go back!

I stayed here last weekend with my family and in-laws to celebrate Mother's Day and my birthday. To start, checking in was simple, quick and the staff was nice. The rooms were clean and trendy. We went up to the rooftop bar as soon as it opened so we could get a spot for our group to sit. The weather was ideal. It has a great vibe and a good view. We waited quite some time to get our drinks after we put our order in with the waitress… but I won't dwell on that. After a drink on the rooftop, we made our way down to the lobby before we went out for diner. Marco, the host at the wine hour was very friendly and inviting… we ended up spending the WHOLE hour there LOL. I would recommend anyone coming to visit Milwaukee to stay at this hotel!

Delicious craft cocktails and you just can't beat the view from the rooftop! I enjoyed the fire pits and overhead heating to keep me toasty while enjoying the space with fall hitting Milwaukee. Everything is so beautifully decorated and modern. I love the details in everything. Staff was amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'll be back soon!

Very beautiful hotel hidden in downtown Milwaukee. This place is 5 stars in my opinion everything was perfect. I would recommend this hotel over the more expensive places in Milwaukee to spend the night. Like I said before beautiful and perfect stay in every category.

Enjoyed a tranquil stay in this hip part of town. The staff is simply spectacular — — prior to checking in I had a snafu with my reservation and the team at the hotel stayed on top of everything and made sure all my needs were met. Room was great, bed very comfy (but for the love of god please get fitted sheets! ), and my room had an amazing soaking tub. Trying to figure out how to get back there sooner!

I loved my stay at this brand new spot in Milwaukee. Front desk folks brimmed with mid-western hospitality and charm, the room was beautifully decorated, quiet, and had the most comfortable robes. My 6th floor room had a great view of the historical building across the street, but rooms not facing the street look over a somewhat ugly inner courtyard/roof. I tried both the rooftop bar (guests can bypass line and use guest elevators) and the street level restaurant and both were nice (but not earth shatteringly nice). It would also be great to have slippers to go with the robe, especially since the rooms are carpeted.

We went to the Outsider bar on the rooftop for a after work happy hour. Even though seating was limited because of the great weather, the staff tried to accommodate out group of 8 as best as possible, finding seats for us and bringing them to our group. The cocktail waitress knew her stuff and had a great memory. She was polite, helpful and attentive. We had tuna tar tar and some sausage rolls which were both great. We will be back for sure!
