Rude a** female bartender who was supposed double as a hostess (? but never left the bar area to check on gaming customers) stated ppl must wait for non alcoholic drinks until paying drunks are served. I paid for my soda. Unprofessional.

In a quieter neighborhood. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bar and bar tenders were very nice and knowledgeable. Games were fun.

Very clean, comfortable accommodations. Trolley service every 30 minutes……no need to drive/park and drink🤪🥃🍸🍾. Make reservations to eat, or you’ll wait hours for fine dining downtown.
And the resident bunnies are adorable down by the gulch🐰😀

I have been trying to make a reservation most the day the lady told me to call back this afternoon so I did. I got the biggest attitude she was very rude. Apparently it was not late enough in the afternoon. Needless to say I will be booking somewhere else.

It feels like home. It’s quiet. The deck by the creek is awesome. But the best part is the personnel — especially Ms Jannsen. We love it.

Just got home and already miss it. Nice place, great food and friendly staff. Thank you Charlotte for always knowing my name. You are the friendliest front desk clerk I’ve ever met. Very accommodating and accepting of our dogs. Great hot breakfast and excellent Philly Beef sandwich at the creek side restaurant. Will definitely be back!

I’am from Utah! And had the best time at the casino and the rooms are clean and everyone there is very friendly can’t wait to go back. And the breakfast and dinners there great.

We love the Deadwood Gultch Resort. Charlotte was great in helping making changes to our reservation when I needed. A the staff is super friendly and helpful. The restaurant has delicious homemade food. Sitting by the river or listening to the river out our bedroom window just adds so much peace for a great nights sleep after a day of fun. Thank you for taking care of us.

I played a couple of days ago. Went with $40. I almost doubled it, then between winning and losing, I still left with my $40. I enjoyed the AC in each room. I drank some soda. Enjoyed conversation with an employee. Her name is Donna. Sweet girl. Very polite and knowledgeable. She took her time to answer my questions. It was a pleasure to gamble there. I would recommend to all my friends. Respectfully grumpy joe.

Ridiculous! After a hail storm that destroyed mostly everyone's vehicles. They were terrible at accommodation. People could not use rooms no a/c no electricity I guess no back up generators? Really? Best part is full charge for the lack of room. Also casino was a dive… rude staff like legit… RUDE just go to the lodge at deadwood! Much better.

Good location away from downtown but close enough for some fun. Rooms are ample and furnished with the necessities. Love the outdoor patio next to the creek. The sound of the water helped me sleep like a baby!

The Resturant was all we seen but Oh MY. Delicious! The services was awesome. They had a wedding party at the same time but we were never neglected, our food came out as expected and quickly.

Very, very nice place to stay. Room was nice. Casino is in the same building. The whole place is smoke free. Yeah.

The casino was neat and clean bar food excellent, so were the rooms. Dollar trolley ride to downtown yet close enough walk. Staff very helpful and friendly.

My husband and I stayed there for 4 days just got home yesterday, it was a perfect get away, everyone was so friendly from the resturants, housekeepers, bar, casino and front desk people so friendly especially Bruce at the front desk, wonderful sense of humor made you feel right at home, he even mentioned he saw us walking down town and was gonna wave, how many front desk people would do that? The food was amazing, very clean rooms, a place called home, would recommend this motel to anyone, you won't be disappointed.

I stayed at Deadwood Gulch with my family. We had a lot of fun. The service from all staff members was great. We even got to check out late for free. The location was convenient for taking the trolley or driving to downtown Deadwood. The food in the snack bar was tasty and inexpensive.

Staff is very friendy. Our shower wasnt clean. The rooms are decent.

Had everything I needed-food, drinks and gaming. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.

I loved spending a whole week staying at the Deadwood Gulch last May of 2017. My whole family had gone down with the flu during our trip to Deadwood, but we made the most of it. The bar and Grill at the Gulch makes a great hamburger or pizza, or whatever you prefer. I also tried the seafood platter, and it was worth every bite. Very satisfying continental breakfast over at the restaurant across the way; I wasn't too keen on some of the dinner items (the blueberry ribs were not my favorite. ). Would make a suggestion of adding more benches around the hotel and make it more handicap accessible (*my Dad uses either his walker or his walker/wheelchair duo. ). Other than that, GREAT TIME!

Nice place, everyone was very friendly. Creekside is nicer if you want peace and quiet.

This is the most amazing hotel and staff! From Char at the front desk, to Michelle in sales, and the entire restaurant staff and housekeepers! We were there for a family funeral, and they all went out of their way for anything we needed! Camt wait to go back for a real vacation! Its beautiful!

Rooms were clean and adequate, restaurant on property, located on outskirts of historic deadwood town. Close enough to all the sites to see in southwest south dakota. Like other businesses, room rates are dramatically increased when there is an event in the area.

Very nice hotel with clean rooms. The staff was very friendly, they make you feel welcomed. All the front desk I interacted with was very helpful and friendly. Gulch hotel is the place to stay when visiting Deadwood.

Had a great time there. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Extended our stay to 3 nights because we had so much fun. Able to park outside our hotel room door and the casino and restaurant were just a short walk from our room. And found my favorite slot machine that hardly anyone has anymore. Absolutely loved Deadwood Gulch!

Stayed here for a couple nights and it was enjoyable, though I wish they would have told the rate changed from Thursday night ($49) to Friday night ($69), plus hotel fees. May have chosen a different hotel after that final cost. However we had a creek side room, which was a nice window view, and even though people are going to and from the casino, it wasn’t noisy at all.

The hotel is very nice, the rooms are large, very clean and offer all amenities. The hotel offers very reasonable package deals, has an attached restaurant on the property with a large selection and very good food! We come every year and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice little mountain rustic casino resort!

Not fancy but in a beautiful area with stream running along the back of it. Has a restaurant and casino with a bar. Would stay again.

Spent 3 nights. Booked king room in advance. Quiet clean room. 5 or 6 free breakfast choices at restaurant. Had a steak there 1 night, perfect. Bar food in casino also excellent. Planned on gambling down town taking $1 trolley. Did once, we were luckier at Gulch. Staff excellent. We will be back next year. Thanks Dale and Jane from eastern iowa.

My room was not ready at 3.30 PM, had to wait 30 minutes. Front desk was certainly not friendly said I could go in and play in the casino. Room was ok. I can understand they are looking for new staff it is necessary to see photo.

Totally depends on what you're looking for. The casino isn't huge, but you're away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Deadwood (which is only a $1 trolley ride away. ) The rooms are clean, the bartender is making delicious dirty martinis, and the staff is kind and helpful. The Mickelson Trail is literally right outside of our hotel room, and there is a picturesque creek running parallel to the patio. Couldn't be happier and we won $50! We will be enjoying our complimentary breakfast in the morning, and be on our way to explore the Black Hills.

Staff is very polite and accommodating. The restaurant staff is very accommodating even though they have several hundreds of people coming through. The staff David, Amber clearly. Remember the needs of Prior customers as when I return to the restaurant they had remembered my special needs on food, request for napkins, straws, water with lemon xcetera upon return they just automatically brought the stuff had it ready did not have to ask for it made suggestions. Food was hot very good not just once but each meal. The largest sticky buns caramel and frosted hot and huge.

We got married at the Gulch this past weekend and things could not have been better! Everyone at the Gulch was great-Arlet, Michelle, Dan, Brian, Charlotte, Chris and many others were so accommodating! They made our wedding week/weekend AMAZING! Beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding!
The rooms are clean and comfy, free breakfast every morning in the restaurant, dog friendly, great fresh baked goods (bacon donuts and sunflower bread), awesome meals in the restaurant, attentive and courteous staff! The staff even bought my dog a couple bags of treats!
My husband and I will definitely be back! Highly recommend the Deadwood Gulch!

Clean room, friendly staff, recently remodeled I liked it here spent 2 nights. There was a stream running right outside our window. Slept like a baby.

Comfortable beds, clean, cute bath tub duck placed in every bathroom on the tub yours to keep, xmas bear on tge bed, on arrival yours to keep for small fee, great gaming area large and you can WIN HERE EVERYTIME U PLAY.

Good place for the kids and you don't have time deal with the noise of partying college students.

The room was very clean and the staff very courteous. My only complaint was the restaurant. They do not only serve the hotel guests and we had to wait a half hour to be seated for breakfast.

Security guard that worked Sunday and Monday during the Day and evening was very unprofessional. My husband and I loved staying there enjoyed the out side sitting area. All the staff except the Security guard were professional, and helpful. Find it hard to believe, a man in that position has let his job become more important { in his mind than being respectful to my husband and my self}.

Staff was great. Rooms were very nice and very clean. Restaurant was very good. Casino and hot tub very nice and clean. Very inexpensive. Great value for the price.

The Gulch really has its act together. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Building is hospital clean.

I loved this place! We recently went on a long trip and stayed in 5+ hotels. This one was my favorite. All the hotels were expensive… This one was the least expensive in the area. (In Deadwood, I guess you can charge whatever you want. ) Our room was right beside a stream (! ), and with the window open, we could hear it all night. Staff was SUPER friendly. Everyone we encountered was a joy. The room was CLEAN as clean can be. The whole hotel had personality. Everyone seemed happy and peaceful. We did not partake in gambling or bikering, but we did not feel pressured to. :) Again, everyone, including the guests, were really nice. The free breakfast was fun. You get to eat at the restaurant and choose from five different meals. Gratuity is appreciated but not required. They will not let you make substitutions, but they'll let you leave stuff off (I left off the eggs). This is one area that perhaps could be improved, because if you are a picky eater (I am vegan and prefer gluten-free as well), you won't be able to find anything. :) Again, I left off the eggs, just had hashbrowns and toast. My partner ordered the pancakes and left off the eggs, and I had her pancakes too. I was stuffed! (I pretended the pancakes didn't have eggs. ) The food was REALLY good, also. Best pancakes I've had in ages. The hotel itself is a little dated, which actually added to the charm for me. It was like every hotel I've ever loved, rolled into one.

Great place! This is truly a wonderful hotel! The beds are comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfast is nice too. Also we won in the casino. Can't beat that. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I will never go back to this place again. They say you get a free breakfast but what they don't mention is it's limited selection and gratuity is not included. Guess I should have realized what a scam it was at check-in when they gave me the "coupons" for the free breakfast. When we arrived at our room both beds were not made properly. The bottom sheets were barely put on the mattresses. Inside the shower there was black mold growing on the wall. This place felt more like a run down weekly stay hotel then a "Gaming Resort".

Spent 5 days here with wife and inlaws. Free breakfast every morning, great staff. Such a comfortable bed. Rooms nice and big. Didnt win much in the casino but had fun.

We didn't stay at the resort, so I can't speak to the rooms. We ate lunch here on our way through the area and it was amazing! Highly recommend it. Get a couple of donuts on your way out the door, too.

This is an older hotel, but that is what we expected in historic Deadwood. The rooms are clean, the food is good and the customer service is excellent.

Love it! The rooms are wonderful, the staff is great and I totally disagree with the last review. My husband and I could split the meals because the portions are huge, the food is wonderful, so we just don't want to share. I love the hotel, the restaurant, the staff, the hottub and definitely the casino. It is one place you can still go to where they know customer service and you are treated like family.

During our stay at Deadwood Gulch the 1st week of August, our room was located directly next door to the laundry room. We returned to the hotel one night after enjoying the restaurants and casinos of downtown Deadwood to find the laundry room on fire. Since our room was right next door, we had to move all of our belongings out of our room and onto the sidewalk. Once the fire department arrived, we were no longer allowed to remove any further items from our room until the fire was extinguished. Once the fire was put out, the room we were in was not only soaked, it smelled like smoke (obviously). Management moved us to another room; however, after asking for a discount and/or to "comp" just one of our night's stay, we were told "we have no intention of giving you any kind of discount or comp for the fire. " Being business owners ourselves, we were floored at the complete lack of customer service we were shown after such an incident. We did not believe a completely free stay was warranted; however, we did not feel that asking for a discount or a free night was unreasonable. One would think that an establishment like Deadwood Gulch would accomodate their customers to ensure a pleasant stay and we feel that a FIRE (that directly affected us) would certainly qualify for some type of compensation or discount. We had to call management to discuss this situation and were told, "Once the rally is over, we have every intention of contacting you; however, there will be no compensation!
