Overall awesome and fantastic!

It has a beautiful location on Leech Lake. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Condo was very roomy and nice. The food and service was excellent.

Hotel is nice, restaurant was the worst experience. Prime rib was laughable, 1/4 over cooked, over seasoned, overpriced, Grey looking grilled steak. Side dish changed without asking if I wanted it, no juice for my wife's French dip, none on mine either. Service was awful, took meat off plate and left the rest to get cold! Worst experience that I can remember… well done literally 502

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Prior to check in we looked to see if there was a king suite available as we have kids, one being a baby who still isn't sleeping well. There were 2 available. We called to upgrade. They stated they are available, but they didn't have staff to clean the room, so we couldn't have them. I asked if our room was clean yet. They said no. SO why not send the cleaning staff to the room we need? So we bit the bullet knowing it might be a long night for mom and dad — we check in, get settled, and come down to the restaurant for dinner. We stood and waited for an employee to greet us for 25 minutes. Then she said it was a 40 minute wait, yet nearly all the tables were empty. Despite making a long drive to enjoy a stay with you, we packed up and left without ever staying overnight. When I called for a refund (two different days this week), I can't even speak to anyone on the phone — no one answers or if they do they put me on a long hold and no one returns my call. The absolute worst experience I could have imagined.

Outstanding service, group of eleven and we were sat immediately, food was incredible, Tammy killed it with serving our table. Views were beautiful. Would come back in a heartbeat!

We sat on the deck and had a wonderful meal. Paige was our server and she was amazing. We had a 502 burger done just right and a couple of cocktails bill was very reasonable. Again Paige was amazing and deserves a Pat on the back!

Perfect hotel in Walker to get away… lake side king was very nice. best accommodations in area.

My husband and I recently stayed at Chase on the Lake Resort for a weekend away. We did the special moments package. I had stayed here in the past and knew that the rooms were old but was ok with that because they were always clean. Our room was clean but had a ripped chair, the bed spread had a large yellow stain on it, the bathroom had a light bulb out and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all empty. The dry wall was also coming apart on the ceiling near our shower. Again, we didn’t expect brand new so didn’t complain because we were trying not to sweat the small stuff. Upon check in they had the wrong rate for our package even though I had emailed ahead to make sure it was correct. The front desk lady fixed it but it was just another issue. The sauna in the pool area had a padlock on it and according to other reviews has been that way for quite awhile. The hot tub is DISGUSTING! A large dark ring around the tile shows that it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Just gross. Parking is also a nightmare so once you get a spot I wouldn’t suggest leaving. The worst part was that on Saturday we attempted to eat at the restaurant 502 and it was obviously busy so my husband went up to the bar and ordered us a drink while we waited. A table eventually opened up and we were there for 50 minutes and not one server checked on us. I was talking it through with the hostess who gave us every excuse in the book and offered no solutions.

502 is really disappointing, horrible service, food is nothing to rave about since Mr. Shimer left.

Our stay experience has been nice in the past, but recently booking or cancelling has been a bit of a nightmare. It’s hard to get the right person on the phone to help. They also asked me how to spell my last name.

I only spent one evening while on personal business in the area. After driving 525 miles, the Chase was just what I needed. I'd like to give huge kudos to Wilma at the front desk. Friendly, personable, energetic and helpful upon check-in. I had reserved a room at a special fall rate, and when I was charged the regular rate, she immediately, and satisfactorily addressed the issue. The property is beautiful. The room was very nice. Having a Kuerig coffee machine in the room was a delightful amenity. I highly recommend the Chase in the Lake. For a few dollars more than a economy chain motel (e. G. Super 8 in Park Rapids), it was totally worth the price!

My friend, who I was with for a girl weekend had stayed here a number of times in the past few years, she said in the past it was a wonderful place to stay, but the place was in need of major upkeep now. The sink would not drain, the tub would not drain during a shower and icky things were floating up from the drains. We told a girl at the front desk on our first day, we left for the day, expecting something could be done, no one came in that we could see as everything was still clogged. So I guess no showers for us. Then upon checkout, we told the guy at the desk about it again, he apologized, but with excuses, said there is new owners and there will be a renovation coming, and that it is just as bad in other rooms. I really don't think that people should be allowed to stay there until their plumbing is fixed. Let alone the broken window that was held together with tape, that when it's windy it sounds like it's going to come crashing in. While the structure and history of this place is awesome, I hope there is a renovation that fixes the physical damage and some staff training on customer service. We still had a fun weekend though, but it was more like camping, not a wonderful hotel experience.

This is for the 502 restaurant We planned this night for months, we bought special outfits and dressed up. We made reservations and showed up. My husband ordered the prime rib which they said they only had on the weekends. The menu never stated that. Then he ordered french dip which they were out of. They never stated that when we got our menus. In a rush he ordered the ribeye which was scrawny overdone and $46. This came with cold potatoes and unseasoned vegetables. Our strawberry teas were unsweetened and I had to wait a long time to ask for sugar which they only brought 2 packets of regular sugar for 2 teas. Our bottled beer came in a plastic cup like we were at some dirty concert. Others had glass around us. The cooks were in the kitchen talking about punching someone and the waitstaff looked like slobs wearing shirts that say I'm in love with a tipper. Like the song, I'm in love with a stripper. Very classy. $100 and what a let down. Go somewhere else. W.

502 Restaurant had very good food. Rick Adams was a real treat for live entertainment. Rooms are dated, rooms and grounds could use a bit more upkeep, but the bed was comfortable, not something you can say very often. Evening fires and watching the otters at night was a treat. Right on thr Heartland Trail. Could cater more to bikers.

Food was pretty good. The happy hour was amazing. The ambiance was great.

Always have a great time here. Beautiful scenery and a great small town.

It's a great place to stay. We got in late Thursday night got checked in and went to bed. Got up the next morning and went to the front desk and ask can I get a up grade and they said yes you can and they put us In a lake front condo that looks over the water. — avec Jen Miller.

Great patio, cheese fondue is awesome, french dip is fabulous.

We love it here, very quaint quiet and relaxing missed the bowling pool and sauna but t we will be back.

Front desk peeps are very friendly. Very cool hotel but definitely needs some updates. Maybe because it is “off season” not sure but cleanliness of hotel could use some improvement. Rooms unkempt… no trash removal or vacuuming. Unaware of how to make up bedding. Towels just thrown in bathroom.

Neat atmosphere at this resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool area needed a bit of resurfacing, but the area as a whole was nice.

We have been coming here for a couple of years — to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Front desk to housekeeping is fantastic. We always dine in 502 and the gals who work (especially on 12/06/19) are amazing. Friendly and accommodating! From there, we enjoy a couple of adult beverages. Gabe is wonderful. He remembers our orders, always shows up when we are ready for another drink. Plus, the gals from 502 show up for support. Amazing as always! Thank you!

We stayed for 4 nights starting on the 20th. Staff was super awesome from the start. I booked the Queen Suite and it's HUGE! The pool was fun, roomy, warm and clean. Did I mention how friendly and helpful most of the staff are?

To start, our experience with The Chase was well! We had our wedding there a few weeks ago and come time for the weekend we learned it was a quite the disaster when it came to the front desk staff and booking. Our stylists were gifted a room for a night, and they someone how managed to mess it up a few weeks prior. Thank god I found it as I had already paid one night very early on, and that wasn’t recognized when I called to figure it out. My grandma had some issues with her room the Wednesday before our wedding, and I spoke to someone that night and she assured me she found a room for two nights. When they went to check-in they had cancelled both reservations and changed it to the following weekend. I spoke with someone on the phone Friday night when they were checking in and he told me he figured it out and she had the room, but hung up and looked at my aunt and grandma and said “she doesn’t I didn’t know what else to say to her. ” They ended up making her pay the price of a condo for herself as they had no other rooms available. Accommodating to make someone pay more for their mistake… Pretty much anytime someone asked about scheduling they were clueless as to what was going on. As well as our stay… my husband checked in Friday night and we checked out Monday morning. Not ONCE did someone come into our room to refresh towels, bathroom necessities, or take out any trash.

I love Chase on the Lake and will return often. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and the beds are wonderfully comfortable.

Wonderful dinner just think should add cream, mushrooms. Or. Some. Long grain rice with the wild rice… very bland plus add more carrots and red pepper to veggies. Very bland-could not finish and I am veggie person. Walleye was unbelievable! total yum. Room very comfortable and felt elegant staying there. Outdoor area around Chase was beautiful.

Had a fantastic lunch with reasonable prices. We will definitely go back.

My husband and I stayed and a two room condo overlooking the lake it was beautiful we went during the fall everyone was so nice that works there also we ate at the restaurant they had a burger bar it was fabulous nothing like what we were expecting! We just love Walker Minnesota and this is such a great resort to stay at if you have the chance to do this I highly recommend it. Kitchen is awesome bedrooms and bed was so comfortable living room with the fireplace doesn’t get much better than that…

We spent Memorial Day weekend at The Chase and had two lakefront condos for our group of nine. Accommodations were great and clean. We had lunch at 502 and the food and service were great! Pool area was a nice size and clean. Beach was great (although a little too cold to be in the water). We rented a pontoon boat and it was a seamless process. Beach fire each night for s’mores was always fun for the group.

Friendly employees, great accommodations, lots of recreational sports, great food … oh also great shopping close.

Great atmosphere and a great place to come back over and over again.

Parking for the resturant is difficult. Service is slow. The view is A+, and the staff is friendly. Settle in and enjoy yourself — you will have time. If you're in a hurry, consider a different restaurant. Food was good, but side portions (fries) were spotty — only a few for some, and tons for others (the kids do notice). Our server was very nice but she was swamped.

Very nicely situated on the lake. Checking in was a bit confusing at first because we came in through the wrong entrance and had trouble finding the front desk. However, we had a great stay here. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was newly redone, the view was spectacular, and the service was great. We enjoyed breakfast looking out on the lake, too. Both the quality of the breakfast and the service were excellent.

The Minnesota wild rice burger was fantastic! The pulled pork sandwich was just as amazing. Enjoyed the view, got to people watch, and we had a chickadee land at our feet. We gave him a couple chip crumbs and a little piece of bread. The whole experience was great and we will definitely go back.

We like to take our boat to Chase on the Lake for lunch. It is nice to sit on their patio and enjoy the weather and view of the lake.

His is a really lovely place. Nice homey feel with dark wood and hardwood floors in the entryway and throughout. I had a king room in the hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. The room had darkening shades which I loved and it was quiet and the bed was decent. The bathroom was amazing. My bf is 6’11 and rarely fits in the shower and bathrooms are usually pretty small. This was great. Will definitely stay here again when able. The one thing I was disappointed about was the check in. Got here at 330 hoping to check in a little before 4 since I had a banquet to get ready for and sadly the room was not ready. They said they would call as soon as it was and assured me it would not be after 4. Well I never got a call and ended up going back at 415 to find out it had been ready. Frustrating as I had explained my predicament and the person at the desk said they would for sure call.

Review was a 2 Star Review: Super slow service. Hope things improve for the season. Been there twice this winter, and both times were less than good. **************** Review is a 4-5 Star review: We brought a group of 6 back this past week 6/19/2018. We were all a part of the same group that had a 2 star experience. We were promptly seated. Our drink orders were taken, and before we ordered our meals, we were politely informed that the kitchen was backed up, so our order could be taken, but it wouldn't go into the kitchen for another 10 minutes (THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW! ). Our meals came out with minor delay, were hot and very good. Some nice changes in the past few months! I wish the system let me add a NEW 2nd review. Our last review warranted a 2 star review, however this experience was a 4-5 star experience. When you charge $16 burger, a customer has certain expectations and service expectations to match the price charged. They did hit their mark on our return visit, and each meal was excellent. This is a testimony to 502's willingness to listen to their customer's experience and expectation, and adjust accordingly. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

The property is beautiful and well kept. The coffee shop is nice. The staff are not very helpful or friendly. When we asked about the pool, we were told it was on the first floor with no does ground and waived off. There was a wedding outside our condo with loud drunk partying late into the night. The next morning, there was still garbage, cigarettes, bottles and cans that had no been cleaned from the night before. Upon checkout, they had no record of the prepay (luckily we did). The lake is gorgeous and the property itself is amazing. Our experience wasn't quite as nice.

We (my wife and I) stayed at the Chase on the Lake at the end of April 2018. It was a surprise getaway for just my wife and I and it was awesome! I guess the hotel somewhat reminded me of the one featured in The Shining but that didn't stop us from enjoying it. From the moment we got there we felt very comfortable, the lady behind the desk/counter was so nice while welcoming us. Something unique (to us anyways) was we were given the option of declining maid service during our 2 night stay and we could save 10% on our bill. I loved that idea! Right as we were finishing in with the check in this massive dog came in with his owner, wish I could remember the name but he was beautiful. I don't think they were guests, they must've lived close by but the dog was one I'll remember for a long time. The hotel has a lot of antique decor' which really adds to the ambiance of it all, our room was quite nice and the bed was very comfy too. Would definitely go back to Chase on the Lake!

I enjoyed our stay here. The building itself is nicely renovated while still keeping it's old school charm. The rooms are clean and have nice bathrooms. Opt for a room with a balcony if possible. The view of the lake is outstanding and you can see all the way across Walker Bay. The bar has plenty of room and TV's and continues the old school feel throughout. The food is good and the breakfast buffet was pretty solid as well. Our stay was short but I'd like to return for a longer stay in the future.

My wife and I stayed at Chase on the Lake for our anniversary. The building is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We stayed in a balcony room that overlooks the lake and the view is gorgeous. The beds are a bit firm for my liking but everything else about the room is great. I think there could be more communication between the staff, maybe a staff meeting, as we were given different or incorrect information during our stay. For example when we checked in the gal informed us continental breakfast is served downstairs until 11am. The next morning when we had a hard time finding breakfast we asked the front desk and she said there is no continental breakfast, that's only in the winter months. Also we were emailed coupons to use at the Java Loon/gift shop during our stay, we stayed Mon-Fri, come to find out the Java Loon is only open on the weekends. Just a couple things that didn't ruin our stay but we're a bit frustrating. The rest of the trip was great. We had a great time renting the bowling alley and had fun in the swimming pool. It's in very close proximity to downtown Walker as we walked to shops and restaurants. I would recommend staying at Chase on the Lake if your looking for a relaxing getaway. We will be back.

Great location! Especially if you plan on bike riding on the trails. Most stores and restaurants close extremely early compared to GF, ND so be prepared for that. Go early to do the things you want to do. We were told when we checked in that there continental breakfast available the next morning but when we went to go get it, it was no where to be found and the front desk attendant (who was different from the night before) said there's not continental breakfast in the summer only in the winter (Memorial Day is apparently the cut off for this). We also received coupons for Java Loon which doesn't have store hours posted and hasn't been open for a couple days now. A new front desk attendant told us it'll be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 2pm so hopefully we'll be able to swing in there on Friday before we leave. Overall nice hotel, but beds are a little hard and staff doesn't seem to know much about what's going on. I'll be back for sure because it is nice I just think they need training for staff. And the early hours thing is just something that tourists will have to get used to.

Overall impressions of the property are very solid. It's a sprawling waterfront condo / hotel complex with nice modern touches and waterfacing units on Walker's Leech Lake. The 502 restaurant is what I'm reviewing here, and a storied establishment that is. The main bar area / back bar was homey and welcoming with a solid vintage modern appeal. The main seating area has amazing waterfacing views from inside and out, with an oversized patio perfect for outside gathering. We made reservations at the 502 for a group of 13 a day in advance for Sunday of Memorial weekend, and we were met with an understaffed restaurant that resulted in delays of service. We were seated within five minutes of the reservation, and then waited for twenty minutes before we were given setups and water. Another ten before we could place an appetizer order (we had already sent a recon team to the bar). We got our food 45 minutes after the reservation time. The food was very good, hot, and worth the wait, but the lack of service certainly detracted from the experience. We will likely return in the future and hope their service level is up to par with the property.

My favorite place in Minnesota! There’s so much to do for all ages, it’s peaceful and relaxing, the shops are close by and always a hit. The staff is so welcoming. We arrived at 1 to walker and check in wasn’t til 4 and they let us in to our room to get situated. Beautiful rooms, spacious. Really couldn’t say enough great things about Chase on the Lake.

We had a perfect room overlooking the lake. Everything was so clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. The pizza and hashbrowns in the breakfast buffet were amazing! I was also really surprised at how quiet it was. Our room was very close to a wedding reception area and we didn't hear anything. The only complaint I have is the coffee shop is apparently seasonal. I was pretty bummed out. There are a bunch of coffee shops up the hill in town though. The town of Walker was very nice as well. We went to all the local shops, restaurants and the brewery and everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful Hotel and Spa! Ask for Emily at the Spa she is amazing! I'm a massage therapist myself and she gave me the absolute best massage I have ever had. She is my new go to therapist when I need a little tune up myself.

We stayed in a condo. It was clean and comfortable, but the fireplace didn't work. Condos are far from the amenities The Chase has to offer. We ate at the restaurant and it was just OK. For the price I was expecting flavor, but didn't get it. We would stay again, probably not in a condo.

Stayed there for our honeymoon (back in October 2017) and accidently forgot a very nice, new, expensive, sweater. I called and they said they had found it and set it aside with my name on it for me to pick up. I let them know it'd be a couple weeks as I'd be driving from Fargo to come pick it up. So I drive there from Fargo a couple weeks later and sweatshirt is nowhere to be found. My story was basically doubted as if they never found it or set it aside because I couldn't remember the name of the lady that set it aside. I was told I was going to get contacted by the manager after he had asked around to the front desk people in the next week. So I drive back to Fargo empty handed, wait for a phone call, and the phone call never came. I called them twice and basically just got "nope can't find it". Now, I understand this is my fault in the beginning for forgetting it there. But if you tell me you found it and set it aside with my name on it and agree to hang onto it until I get there (as I'm not in town), I expect it to be there when I arrive.
So since I haven't heard anything back yet, … have you found where it was set aside? I'd like to hear back.
