The room was dirty, run down, and old. Lights didnt work, I had to plug in all the appliances, alarm clock broken, and fan in bathroom broken. Cobwebs everywhere. Caulking and screws and stains all over bathroom. Bath tub falling apart. Then they screwed up after our check in and locked us out of our room that had all of our stuff in it and told us that wasnt our room. The woman at the desk was helpful but all the men were unprofessional and rude to each other and the woman running the desk and trying to fix our problem. The breakfast area was filthy and consisted of old cereal and a waffle iron you operate yourself with batter that you get out of a box. Stay away… far away. There are other hotels right down the road. I've stayed in many super 8 hotels and this is by far the worst.

While my room was clean overall and I had two fairly good nights sleep, I felt this location had a lot to be desired. The front desk staff was pleasant and the building itself was clean, but it was just a very "blah" stay for me. Some issues were: serious lack of outlets. There was nowhere to plug in anything save a single outlet in the bathroom — everything else was full of plugs already or not working. Speaking of the bathroom, the fluorescent light above the sink buzzed when it was turned on. Also, the towel/pad for the shower was damp when I went to use it — and this was the morning after I checked in so I can't imagine how wet it was when they put it there. The towels were clean, but stained. The breakfast was… lacking. The room was a good value and there was nothing majorly wrong — like I said, I still got a good night's sleep which is what I really wanted from the room, but the little details were off-putting to the point that if I came through this area again, I'd consider a different location.

It's a two star hotel at best, so the short variety of breakfast items should be expected. Also, there's a lack of outlets, at least in room 104 where we stayed. And most appliances (lights, clock, hair dryer, etc. ) were unplugged, and the switch for the light is by the door and has a timer on it for 15 minutes. Thinking the managers or owners are just a little too tight with their money. But the AC works well, and the location is pretty quiet. Can't say I'd recommend it.

The pillows here are feather. I am allergic to feathers. I called down to the front desk to inquire about other pillows and was immediately told they didn't have any. When I explained my allergy, the gal said she would see if she could find others and call me back. I never received a return call. As it turns out, two of the pillows were indeed fiber, but were so thin you could hardly sleep on them. I ended up laying on the couch for a lot of the night so my husband could have those pillows. It was also incredibly noisy — people slamming doors late into the night and early in the morning. The best thing about this hotel was the referral they gave to the Howe Restaurant — that was wonderful!

The location is easy to find, its a mile past the michigan/Indiana border, the rooms are great they have great prices and is very clean.

When arriving late at night I had to wait a while for the gal to find my room registration. It was kind of frustrating considering I was on the road for 8 hours prior. But room a nice for a super 8.

Super 8 never fails to have mint conditions throughout there facility. Breakfast is fresh the variety is satisfying it's very quaint clean and at tops any competitor Within a 30 mile radius to least. I will always give my patronage to Super 8 in Howe Indiana.

I really like Super 8 hotels when looking for an economic, no-frills-needed stay. You can count on a clean room and comfortable bed. Not so much the case at this location. I don't mind dated decor, but the room had a slight funky smell, the bed was lumpy (I still slept very soundly) the air conditioner was anemic and I didn't want to walk on the carpet in bare feet (so I kept my socks on). This being my third budget stay in three days at Wyndham properties, this one offered the barest of amenities. The location is fantastic for popping off the interstate. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and friendly. If you're just looking for a place to sleep between points A and B, this will be perfectly adequate.

Nice room, friendly staff. Breakfast severly lacking. Added protein would be appreciated.

The GM was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were a little run down but definitely functional.

They were very accommodating and helpful and helped us get into a room quickly despite screaming kids.

Good location with truck parking in the back. Very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Waffle breakfast assortment standard to most super 8 hotels. If in the area this is a good choice for your stay.

NICE HOTEL! Great stay, would definitely book again when I'm in the area, very hospitable and clean, staff was nice enough to negotiate with me to stay a little later than checkout time so that was dope of them, was able to recoup after a long drive with no disturbances, recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to crash for the night.

The staff was amazing. Made sure we had everything we needed. Check in and out easy. Never heard any other guest. Room was up stairs but close to the lobby.

This place was amazing! The owners, employees, housekeeping were all wonderful. They were so nice we didn't want to leave. The room was spotless at all times even though we were very late risers. We had planned to stay only one night but ended up staying three. This is very near Shipshewana, IN and that town was small but packed with things to do. We plan on going back and I will definitely stay with them again.

I was driving my mom to northern Maine to come live with us. She has a walker and has a difficult time time getting around. We were treated with such courtesy and were asked if there was anything they could do to help. I have traveled all over this country and never been treated so well as we were here. If I could give them 10 stars I would. They made a tough situation very easy and their kindness will not be forgotten!

I stayed here back in September & overall enjoyed my stay. I had an issue with my TV's remote control & they came up to my room promptly to help with it. The rates are very reasonable I believe — — paid $69 for a room with one bed (I believe a queen size bed, although the mattress was too hard for me). The microwave didn't work, but I didn't realize it until the morning when I was going to check out, and by that time it didn't matter. I liked the compact refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker too.

I think for the price it was a great stay. There were a few problems such as a lamp in my room not working. The key would need to be reset every time I left my room. Plus something wrong with the water in the bathroom. However the staff was friendly and I slept great.

Clean. Courteous staff. Standard free breakfast. Excellent value. Lowest rate in the area.

Well, I guess for the money it's just barely okay. Room cost a hundred twenty dollars. The carpet is absolutely gross. Dark stains everywhere. The colors are weird and nothing matches. The drapes, the couch, the bedspread all wildly different. Old. Don't look at your mattress. I did. Mistake. The mattress has to be at least ten years old. The TV didn't work at all. We didn't feel like having someone in the room at eleven at night, so we just dealt with it. The worst part was the two foot long black hair wrapped around the white towels in the bathroom. Just so gross. No way a maid missed that. It's just really dingy here. Honestly I wish I'd spent the extra thirty bucks and gone to the holiday inn express.

Our installation team stayed at this property for 2 nights and enjoyed are stay. The rooms were clean and remodeled. The TV service was top of the line had over 120 channels of Hi-Def. The new TV system was actually being installed while we stayed there. Front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Nothing too Earth shattering here. Employees were friendly room was pretty good. Room had a fridge which was nice. Breakfast was pretty good. Coffee was a bit weak though.

I will not be back. Go the other way up the road for better places and food. The electronic door lock didn't work on two separate rooms. On the first one, they couldn't even get the manual lock to work. The room I am in now, the card lock also doesn't work, but at least the manual one does. Bathroom light goes off if you sit still for more than a few minutes. Smells funky. Wi-Fi is unsecured, so use it at your own risk.

Better place. With breakfast good price. was in motel 6 but super 8 is much better than motel 6. Free Wi-Fi and nice staff. Looking for some thing cheap and good this is the place.

Staff was very kind and courteous, but it was still a Super 8. The first thing I noticed was that carpet needed to be stretched, and some of the fixtures were outdated. The pull out bed did not have any bedding, but when we called the front desk they were able to bring us up enough. The main bed itself was well made, clean and very comfortable. There were plenty of towels and soap. The breakfast was decent with fresh juice and coffee, you can make your own Carbon's waffle or pancake. I didn't pay the full rate, and I'm happy I didn't, but I think I paid a fair price. The staff was very, very kind.

Called 6 hours before arrival and was told they would honor the on line price that you get when you Google motels which was $51 till may 14. Get to motel to check in and the price is $86 instead. They desk clerk was rude and would not honor the price. Bad thing is nothing special was going on. I will not ever stay at this hotel ever again. The carpet in the room was pieced together like a puzzle there was only 1 towel the ac unit would not work. In all I have stayed in run down motels that were way nicer and more affordable. The worst experience in my life and we travel for a living.

Quite and friendly and helpful staff. The place is not in good condition. It needs some money spent on it. Fitted sheets and queen beds wiuld be nice.

This place was fairly clean and had a room for us last minute which I appreciated. The linens weren't very nice, the ice machine was broken, and they didn't accept credit cards. They do accept dogs which is why I give them a four. The breakfast does not look like the one pictures above, just FYI.

I give this place a one star only because they don't list negative star ratings. I'm a disabled veteran and need a recliner to sleep in (I called the 800 number to book this room and explained my needs, they assured me they had recliners but never mentioned they were located on the second floor — NO elevator) … the only recliners where on the second floor with no elevator. It was late in the evening and I didn't think I could find another hotel, so I made to very difficult walk up the stairs, this is NOT handy-capped friendly. I found several bugs in my hotel room that looked like cockroaches, complained to front desk. Also the coffee pot in my room didn't work and ran water all over the place and I had to clean it up. I will NEVER stay here again.

Nothing. I was renting it for my brother in law to stay in overnight for the Thanksgiving holiday. I booked a room during the day light hours. The hotel looks fine during the day. It was empty when I rented the room. When I took him later in the evening to stay the night, I or he did not feel comfortable. I went back to the front desk to get my money and return the room key. The lady at the front desk said she couldn't give me money back without a managers approval. I told her why is it a problem if he never stayed there and to give me the supervisor phone number or the 800 number so I can talk to someone. She then returned my money and I left to stay at a better hotel that was well lit up outside and clean inside and out. I even checked out my brother in laws room at the new hotel and it was very clean. I know he will rest more peace fully and get a good night's sleep at this place. I will be able to rest knowing that he will be ok there then Super 8. Super 8 wanted to put him in the back of the hotel when there was rooms empty in front. All I can say is buyer beware. Or you get what you pay for so spend the extra money if you want to be comfortable and sleep through the night.
