The rooms could of been much cleaner and also they could buy all new bedding sheets and pillow cases because they had stains on them. The people that work there some were very friendly but a country of them were rude and not as friendly they were the house keeping workers. Also the place needs updating and maintaining a descent appearance. But if you are just going to just be there for a couple days then it's fine to stay.

Decent room for a decent price… plus the pool and jacuzzi were awesome! They even kept it open an extra half hour for my son and I to enjoy. Ask for a water view room. Can see bridge from beach. They also allowed my yellow lab for an extra $25… maybe that's why we didn't get a water view room… still made for a great experience. Will definitely stay again. Our room had a huge bathroom, as well…

This place was so incredibly poor quality. The University of Michigan-Flint's International Student Organization had organized a trip to mackinaw and we stayed in this hotel. Dead bugs in hotel room, screen door very difficult to move, Dirty feeling. Had to sleep in car. I tried to ignore that and focus on the future. They were asked to help us make a campfire and were an hour late in helping as we stood in the cold beach, even after asking twice if someone would come in. : ( Could barely open the screen doors in hotels because it was stuck, and also had this huge white-looking stain on it that prevented you from see the lake. Front desk employees were decent, but not the kindest. Staff seems incredibly sparse, disorganized and only did the bare minimum. We will never book this place again. I go to mackinaw every year with my family. I never had a trip as awful as this. : (please don't go here. Save your money up and go to a better place.

Definitely just okay. The people are nice, the rooms are clean (as advertised) and the price was nice. Our room does have a nice view of the lake. The bugs make it impossible to enjoy the balcony or even being outside, but what can they do. You don't realize what you're missing out on though by staying here until you drive down the same road and seeing about 10 much nicer looking hotels. Definitely not the worst place to stay, though. Definitely just okay, I'd stay again if I needed to.

It was okay. The room itself seemed clean and well kept, but there was a massive swarm of (harmless) bugs around the hotel, which was a bit annoying.

Terrible, would not recommend. Trouble from the start, not to mention the fact the only Wi-Fi that we got was the hotel next door, the BeachComber. Definitely will not waste my money here again.

Good and decent place to stay. Good view and has a beach as well. The pool and hot tub were really good. The service was excellent. Room were clean and nice. Would definitely recommend.

Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous pulling up. It was 1am and the place looked a little shady. When we opened the door I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't stinky and it looked decent. My bed was comfy, plenty of blankets, and comfy pillows. No bed bugs either! Few cosmetic things in our room but hey you want a cheap room you gotta expect a few things to no be up to par.

The room is slightly smaller than I expected, very comfortable beds, quiet. Does have beach access and a beautiful view of the lake. Only complaint is not enough outlets. All the outlets are being used by their stuff, a. C. /mini fridge, tv, lights, no room for cell phone chargers and there are no in room phones. Clean room, friendly staff, comfortable bed.

I started off with 5 stars because the price through the chamber of commerce was $59 — can't beat that! Also, free water park tickets to a nice place up the street. The room and furniture were very dated but I didn't care about that because as previously mentioned the room and water park were only $59! I took off 2 stars because of the mold in the grout in the shower. That's an easy, cheap thing to fix so the place gets no breaks from me there. The room was otherwise clean, even if it did look old.

Not impressed. When I called to confirm my online reservation, the front desk said there wasn't one, but then "found" it when I said I could give my confirmation number. There was no continental breakfast, even though the site said there was. The room was pretty bad. Chipped paint and dirty walls, sticky spots on carpet, furnishing were falling apart, the bed frame was very shaky, and the overall room was in need of updating. The outside of the building was unkept and messy with garbage laying around. The outdoor carpet on the walkway was stained, ripped and falling apart. The only redeeming feature was the beds were clean or we would have paid to cancel and went somewhere else. No amenities in the rooms like microwave, coffee pot, local info; only a mini fridge.

In order to reach Waterfront Inn, I had to go through a different motel (I called the number on their website). I kept getting disconnected by the other motel and it took 4 tries to finally reach Waterfront. We also called the night before the deadline to cancel our reservation but no one picked up. No way to leave a message either. So when we called in the morning, they said we were too late and we paid for the night but didn't stay there. I actually thought it was a scam before see the motel in person.

Room was nice, cozy and clean. The view of the island and bridge was amazing and the pool and hot tub were great. A good place to stay a couple days if you're planning on going to the island. The docks are within walking distance.

The location is excellent, walking distance to the ferry for Mackinac Island. The rooms were not great. Our door was covered with insects and at night it's like locust plague in our room if we open the door. The beds were SO hard. Felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Not what I expected for the price we paid.

Clean cheap rooms, room was nice and tidy, hot water rocks … beach view very nice. 54 a night can not beat it. Would recommend to anyone… very nice staff, close to everything. Good simple clean hotel for the money. Saved much by staying here more money for stuff. And events. Smiles.

We stayed a couple weeks ago & Lady at the front desk was very rude. We had asked about local attractions and was given the wrong information. (Not helpful at all). Customer service is terrible! The lady's at the front desk were not friendly at all. Felt like we were inconvenience them. When we walked in to check in the people at the front desk didn't say a word. cleanliness of the room definitely would get a 2 out of 5. Customer service 1 out of 5

I can't even begin to tell you how little I liked this place. Outdated not well keep dirty was just the start. The only good things the location and nice lady at desk. But will not be returning and count time short because we didn't want to have to stay there another night.

The view from our balcony is amazing. Really wish the office was open 24 hours. Or provided small coffee pots for the rooms. They try their best to keep it clean. Overall I'm very satisfied.

ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE WITH THESE PEOPLE! First off, a group of us rode bikes (motor) from the Flint area up north to see the Tunnel of Trees; I had made the reservation for this disgusting hotel weeks before the trip. After riding for almost 9 hours, completely exhausted, we arrived to the hotel to check in and my fiancé and I were told that they GAVE OUR ROOM AWAY! They did this because my cell phone's battery was dead (and I can't charge it on a motorcycle) they could not reach us to confirm that we were in fact checking in…? Where is the disclaimer that says that they will give your room away even if you did not cancel your reservation because they can not reach you… rhetorical question because such disclaimer does not exist! The two girls at the front desk were nothing but rude about the situation. Speaking in a different language, one took a phone into a closet to "find us a room at another hotel", which they lied about saying that X hotel had a room available for triple the cost we anticipated on paying. So we go there and, surprise, they have no room available AND no record of anybody calling from another hotel to inquire about a room for us. Upon going back to confirm that we went to the correct hotel I was laughed at by the two girls at the front desk, called a b**ch (which I was probably being because I was so appalled by their service. Or lack there of I should say!

Way too much money for the quality of the hotel. They have no breakfast they said that they had free breakfast on their website but they do not. I would not stay here or recommend this hotel. Also you can hear everything and I mean everything that people were doing on either side of your room.

I used to get a room at this hotel every year. It was great. Great service, great breakfast. But it changed owners a few years back and now the room we stayed in this year had mold build up on the ceiling in the bathroom. The bathroom floor was stained yellow. There was a hole in the wall where the door handle had broken through. Upon checking in they are supposed to give breakfast vouchers in order for the guests to get breakfast at the hotel next door because they can't be bothered with making breakfast for the guest there anymore apparently, but we had to go in and take the initiative to ask for the vouchers in order to get the continental breakfast. Also the Wi-Fi did not work in the room for the second year in a row and we were told "it's a problem with charter" and given no apology for the inconvenience. And in order to even use the microwave in the room I had to hold the plug a certain way into the outlet. When walking into the front office we were treated like a bother and the employees carried on their conversation in another language before acknowledging us. I wouldn't even give this hotel half a star.

It was not at all what I paid for. I paid for a water front room through bookings. Com. I got a dump of of a room in front of a parking lot. I complained, and it took a month for the manager to have there help call me back and tell me oh well to bad. { I a nut shell }Do not ever stay at this dump. Thank you Gary Hummel.

It’s been two months, since my wife and I stayed at the Waterfront Inn located in Mackinaw City. The door to our room was kicked in while we were sleeping, my then 9 month pregnant wife woke up screaming and her screaming is what made the guy to run off. We gathered our items went to the front desk to see if we could get a new room for the night. But to our surprise no one was available to help us. We then called the police and made a police report, we were told by the officer to go to another hotel and they would help find a room. We drove to three different places and with no luck finding a room. The one lady called the manager three times for us, trying to get us into a room. After about an hour we were told that the manager would arrive at 7:00 am, I asked the lady what was my wife and I suppose to do for a room, we were told we had to pay for another room. So, my wife and I decided to sleep in my jeep. 7:00 am comes around, we drive to the motel to find that the “manager” doesn’t come in until 9:00 am, so we have to wait another 2 hours, once he shows up, he treats us like nothing has happened. The manager then told me to call the chamber of commerce to receive a refund and to file a complaint. I asked why he didn’t answer his phone the 7 times, people tried calling him and his response was who answers their phone at 4:00 am?!?!?! He didn’t apologize for the incident nor did he offer a room for the night.
