Review of Waterfront Inn Mackinaw City 2*

ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE WITH THESE PEOPLE! First off, a group of us rode bikes (motor) from the Flint area up north to see the Tunnel of Trees; I had made the reservation for this disgusting hotel weeks before the trip. After riding for almost 9 hours, completely exhausted, we arrived to the hotel to check in and my fiancé and I were told that they GAVE OUR ROOM AWAY! They did this because my cell phone's battery was dead (and I can't charge it on a motorcycle) they could not reach us to confirm that we were in fact checking in…? Where is the disclaimer that says that they will give your room away even if you did not cancel your reservation because they can not reach you… rhetorical question because such disclaimer does not exist! The two girls at the front desk were nothing but rude about the situation. Speaking in a different language, one took a phone into a closet to "find us a room at another hotel", which they lied about saying that X hotel had a room available for triple the cost we anticipated on paying. So we go there and, surprise, they have no room available AND no record of anybody calling from another hotel to inquire about a room for us. Upon going back to confirm that we went to the correct hotel I was laughed at by the two girls at the front desk, called a b**ch (which I was probably being because I was so appalled by their service. Or lack there of I should say! ), told f**k you b**ch, to leave, and many other ridiculous and unprofessional things. I was merely trying to make sure that these people deleted our credit card information. Which they did not come to find out today they charged us for the room anyways! They thought it was funny. But honestly after just seeing the lobby and how they treat their guests, I am glad that we ended up staying elsewhere! This place is the biggest joke of a business I have ever seen and I would not recommend my worst enemy to stay there!
