Directly across the road from the Somerset Collection Shopping mall.

We love staying at this hotel every time we are in this area, there is a certain nostalgia about this hotel. Across the street is the Somerset Collection. The room comes with free breakfast at the Crumpets which is a plus the ambiance and the food is always great at this restaurant (not your typical continental breakfast) unfortunately the restaurant is under renovation during our stay… we always look forward to have breakfast at this place whenever we stay at the Somerset Inn, the outdoor private garden patio is beautiful around spring and summer time. The manager Dave is very accommodating and the staffs are friendly.

Rooms are okay, popcorn ceiling is cracked and a little concerning, no pool or sauna and very tiny workout room. Beds are clean, soft and the room service is prompt. Pros are very pleasant staff and the drinks at the bar are strong and reasonably priced. Attached restaurant is what you would expect with matching prices. Would be interested to see their brunch, but didn't have time.

Edited: Older establishment but it's been updated. In a great location close to just about everything you could want. Fast internet and open. In house diner is delicious too! Unfortunately, in my particular suite the spigot in the bath tub leaked water constantly.

Very convenient location close to the freeway. Huge parking space with multiple entrances. The place is quiet, clean, modem. Perfect for big or small events.

The room was clean and bed was decently comfortable. Lots of charging outlets and included a mini fridge which is nice. Unfortunately the bathroom had no ventilation. Was impossible to utilize the mirror after a shower.

I stayed here for two nights and felt comfortable both nights. The breakfast was a standard continental breakfast which was fine. The room was well kept and the fan could be finely tuned to the right temperature.

Great wedding venue! Held our wedding reception at Somerset Inn in summer 2017. Not only were rooms and event venue beautiful and enjoyable for our guests, but as a bride the event staff was a dream. Exceptionally affordable and flexible package for food and drinks. Our event sales/catering manager Daria was always helpful, cheerful, and never made me feel bad about making any special requests. Day of the reception, the guests loved appetizers in the garden, and the food service for dinner was prompt and the quality of the food was excellent. When I first glanced at their wedding packages I thought, no way! Too expensive with too much I don't want. But as I said, their sales/catering staff was extremely flexible and willing to give us everything we wanted to pay for and nothing we didn't want or need. Their room block policy is excellent, we could book plenty of rooms without being on the hook for unbooked rooms. The hotel location was excellent for our guests due to proximity (and public transit) to shopping and other food. This feature was also helpful as we had many nearby options to select for rehearsal dinner, thus no need for additional transportation expenses. The hotel bar was lovely for entertaining guests the night before the wedding. We also held impromptu come-as-you-are brunch for guests in the hotel restaurant the morning after and staff there were kind and helpful as our group ebbed and flowed over the course of a few hours.

An aging legacy property with little to offer aside from location. Very average, doesn't stand out in any areas. Better choices nearby.

We arrived last Thursday. Rooms are very clean and nice. Great service, friendly people, food was excellent. Would come again in a heartbeat. Had our 50th Servite HS Reunion and all of that came off without a hitch. Thank you Somerset Inn!

Place has bed bugs, beware as they will tell you its the Laundry detergent you're using -your response is pathetic. What follow up did you do? I called numerous times, no one called back, you never sent me a report nor offered to pay for my testing NOR followed up with the letter I mailed you. However, the medical opinion of three physicians all saying the same thing wasn't good enough for you, you want me to get a permanent scar for a biopsy? So yes, this post is justified and insulting me in my voicemail didn't help.

Just your typical hotel stay. I stayed in the queen suiet. It was clean and well supplied. Front desk service was prompt and friendly. Food at the bar and grille was very delicious, a little pricey but good. Overall a nice stay.

My room was perfect! Very comfortable and clean! The young lady, Lisa at the Front Desk was very sweet, welcoming and professional. Connie Smith, manager of Housekeeping was very nice. The waitresses during our dining experience in the conference room, we're very patient, attentive and cordial. I would highly recommend Somerset Inn to family and friends!

Well maintained older hotel that has been renovated in the past ten years — the age certainly shows in some features. Very nice conference room setup capable of handling larger events, with several breakout rooms. The restaurant was the only difficult experience, when it came to getting breakfast in the morning. Under staffed.

Very nice. Excellent location. Rooms a little on older side re: electronics. Otherwise no complaints.

Very basic… no outdoor seating areas and very few indoors seating. Poor business center. Consists of one single computer terminal in the busiest section of the lobby which is outdated. Drinks are expensive $13.00 for a cocktail. Rooms are generally small. The food was good and the evening bar tender was excellent! Myself and my colleagues are going to urge our company to choose a different hotel for our next meeting. Also, the internet never worked in our meeting room and despite several complaints was never resolved by the hotel.

Clean, nice restaurant only ate breakfast, it was full service, no grab and go options. Overall a nice place to stay.

We had our wedding at the Somerset Inn in the Grand Ballroom (7/31/16). Everything turned out absolutely amazing! The venue space was perfect (newly remodeled) and the food was delicious! We worked with Katie and she always went above and beyond. She was extremely helpful and very timely with responding to my emails. Everything went so smoothly during our stay and we loved the suite we stayed in that night. Sadly, we didn’t get to use their beautiful outdoor space for our cocktail hour because of the weather, but it was great that they had the option and space to move it indoors! Highly recommend holding your wedding, or any event, here!

This place never ever amazes me. Besides a friendly staff this old building is less to be desired. The "gym" is out dated and always way to cold to even work out in. I visited in the winter and my room was freezing. The thermostat doesn't even go that hi. I stayed under the covers while I was in my hotel. The shower head is so hi up in the shower it takes away the water pressure, and I couldn't stay warm. They give you coffee but with powdered cream and only 2 sugars? This was my 3rd time staying there and I requested my company not to put me there again.

Loved this place. Great owners. The place is an awesome place to meet town people. Very nice and would recommend to all. No special coffees or wine in the room but down to earth people.

Stayed overnight for MEPs in the morning. Very friendly staff with decent rooms, very clean and neat. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is because Wi-Fi didn't reach the room.

Outdated motel 6 I told my wife when we got there we should leave and at midnight we found out I was right. The boiler room had a fire alarm go off so we had to leave the room and go outside. The rooms look like a 1980’s motel 6 and the beds are rocks. I expect much better from a hotel with the summer set name in the heart of Troy, with $200 nightly rates.

I stay here frequently for work and it's always nice. The staff are great and very friendly.

Everything was great, from the Room, Food and Staff! All of the staff I encountered during my stay was very nice and polite. If you love to shop this location is perfect for you. Somerset Mall is located directly across the street (Walking distance) I'd definitely be back to stay.

Conference room had climate control issues (too cold, then boiling hot) that were eventually fixed by building maintenance. The women’s restroom was messy all day, and there was no hand soap first thing in the a. M. In one dispenser. The Restaurant on-site “Crumpets” was excellent! Service went above and beyond, food had excellent taste and presentation, nice atmosphere!

Clean quiet and comfortable. As a business traveler it's all I really want. Having Crumbs restaurant makes it even better! Quick room service and good food coupled with the Serene environment make for a great stay!

I met someone who was staying at Somerset Inn for dinner and drinks at the bar. It was easy to find and there was plenty of room for parking. Our meal was good but nothing special.

It’s alright but too expensive for what you receive
It is clean so that’s a plus
No covered parking
The sheets are not very nice and a bit scratchy
The heater in the room was loud and no temp control so it had to run or you just had to turn it off
Nothing nice in the room not even water bottles and the tissue was cheap cheap cheap
For your money you can do much better
I chose this hotel for its location. Next time I will stick with Marriott. Same price but much better quality. Disappointing stay but it was clean so that is the upside.

The hospitality is great, the staff are wonderful associates. The service is awesome. I would surely recommend this hotel. 5 star rating.

Nice staff, had great rest here, everything was nicely cleaned. Had phone troubles with the hotel phones here and there. But overall good experience.

I gave this hotel 3 stars because of the fact that it was clean and the breakfast was great and complimentary. The problems I had with it was the fact that there was no water available anywhere. I woke up thirsty, there was no water in the room, none on the floor, the so called “24 hour” convenient store was closed and no one was available at the front desk. I find that outrageous. They could at least have a vending machine to use. I also had a problem with my bill at check out which was strange because I was only there literally one night.

No swimming pool. One elevator functioning with several seminars going on. Water pressure of shower fading in & out while showering. Pricey restaurant $$$$$ with mediocre service where the amount of food you receive for a high price would NOT be enough for the average male. I was attending a seminar & sharing a room—was not informed at check-in when I used my bank card that my account would have the funds held for the full price of the room PLUS $60 per day (for “incidentals”) for up to 10 days, which has tied up my bank account for almost $1, 000. I travel & stay at hotels on average 6 times a year & have NEVER had this happen at any other hotel. GREED indeed. Never again will I patronize this hotel or any business associated with this place.

Everything seemed fine here. Quick check-in and out. I didn't really stay too long, just for the night while in town for a work event. But it got the job done.

Very comfortable. Very clean. Excellent restaurant, Crumpets, on the first floor to the left of the lobby. Very impressed and pleased with my stay.

Not even a single water bottle in the room! When I called the front desk, they advised me to come down and buy one from gift shop… Also, no charging point at bedside. Good Wi-Fi and clean rooms though.

I have stayed at the Somerset Inn a number of times and always find it clean, comfortable and friendly. Recently had couple of booking mixups and manager graciously provided credit even though not entirely hotel's fault. Will continue using the Somerset for all my travel to Troy area.

No microwave or refrigator in the room. Bathroom was very clean and beds were comfortable.

Not like the pics at all. Older hotel that needs updating. There is a weird open vent in my shower… I'm posting a pic of that. Water pressure is not great, food is ok but overpriced.

This is a modern hotel. The entire facility is neat and clean. This hotel has an awesome bar and grill as well.

Came here for business. Good place to accommodate international clients since it's right across the street from the mall which offers something for everyone.

The staff was friendly at check-in, the room was spacious and clean. The conference area was suitable for the event. The restaurant served satisfying food at reasonable prices, the staff was helpful and cortious.

Met a client at the restaurant. It was very clean with very nice hostess with and excellent waiter.

I have to say, I was rather disappointed. For $360 per night, I certainly expected more. No Bellman, no Valet. And any close parking already full. Front desk people, very nice. Penthouse room, just ok. Sofa in our room leaned severely to the middle on both ends. Happened to catch the room attendant on the floor and asked for more coffee. She gave us packs of drip coffee, which was useless in the Keurig coffee maker. She stated she has just cleaned the room, but did not know there was a Keurig in it. She even said so. Went down to the bar and restaurant at 6pm on a Friday night. Empty. Went into the bar, no one there. Took almost 15 minutes for a person to appear from a back room. (A person did come over and said the bartender would be there shortly, but it took a long time) 7pm, one person in bar, restaurant empty. Not a hot spot for Friday night activity. Need more ashtrays out front as the sidewalks were littered with cigarette butts. The ashtrays were hidden behind a wall to to the south of the entrance. Panels loose and about to fall off in the elevators. (we saw at least 3) Locked doors in the conference and ballroom area. If you walked outside from the ballroom, you were locked out as soon as the door closed. There were several events in the ballrooms. Many people walked out and were locked out of the area. You had to walk all the way around the building to get back in.
