The stairwells smelled like pee and splattered with some kind of substance; I'm not sure if it was human, animal or other. Beds were hotel beds, hair dryer was not functional and I've seen thicker Bible pages than the toilet paper provided. Shower did not drain, so I can't wait to find out what fungus will begin to grow on my feet. In fairness, I didn't bring up the shower issue to the desk, so my bad. The bar & grill apparently does not ever open, so expect to find a place to eat off site. The room itself was clean, but smelled like smoke. Two bar soaps, shampoo bottle and coffee were provided.

Good hotel if you loved the 1800's. Rooms are clean, but the doors that once attached to another room or creepy. Eerie vibes. Hallways are long and dark, rooms and hallways smell like mold, dust and tobacco. Poor cable quallity and A/C. We found human hair and trash all over.

TV cable didn't work, sink was stopped up, bed was sinking in the middle, and the sink was stopped up. Also free breakfast buffet open from 6-9 am was out of food by 6:30. Didn't restock! But pool and sauna was nice minus the beer caps I stepped on in bottom of whirlpool!

Can I give this place 0 stars? Terrible terrible terrible. Outdated box TV with a cable box, tiny ass outdated bathroom with ONE light switch for the actual bathroom and the vanity. NO window to outside. But a HUGE window into the hallway? What so people can creep on you and watch you have sex? Not to mention when you showered water got all over the bathroom oh and BLACK MOLD IN THE SHOWER. Definitely would not Recommend this place to anyone.

Horrible… beds were hard… coffee pot broken… greenery over grown… burnt breakfast… I can go on and on. The ladies at the front desk were nice. You get what you pay for.

Gross, moldy, dusty, falling apart, shot plumbing, no cameras, toilet overflowed and 5hrs later and 2 phone calls nobody came, someone cut the locks on my husband's work truck and stole all his tools, counter staff is cold and unfriendly, current kitchen cook is the only n8ce guy. All of us have done nothing but get sicker and sicker since staying here, hallways wreak of drugs and piss, and watch where u step. Someone set 2 nails up on the stairs as a prank and my daughter almost stepped on em! you'd be better to sleep on the sidewalk in the projects!

I originally rated this motel as 3 stars but I am now giving it a 1 star. The only pro this place has is a cheap weekly rate. For the cons. This place needs some serious updating and major maintenance! Ceiling tiles stained and missing all together, holes in wall, half the electrical outlets do not have power and the TV barely works. There is hardly ever any towels in the pool room and when I went to the front desk to ask for towels, I was told she would have someone bring them. We never got them. The whirlpool does not work in the hot tub and the temperature is set way too high. Room service won't do anything for you other than change towels and remove garbage. They did not make the beds or vacuum at all. They use to have a really nice breakfast with eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, cereal, toast, etc. I talked to the guy who serves breakfast and he is ready to quit. He was hospitalized for a short time and came back to find nothing stocked and nothing clean. He had to pay some customers to run to Walmart to buy food for him to make for breakfast! The carpets in the hallways are lumpy, uneven or missing all together. There are signs saying they are in the process of replacing carpets, but the same guy I talked to at breakfast told me the carpets have been missing for over 3 months now. I stayed here years ago and had a generator stolen out of my truck that was chained and locked.

This was the worst place ever! Ceiling panels missing, buckets to catch leaks, hall carpets gone, room keys that only worked at whim, air barely worked and smelled. Bathrooms so small could barely move. Hot tub didnt work, water was green. Public restrooms out of order or toliets full. Continental breakfast the biscuits hard as rock, juice watered down. List goes on, but final thing they should pay you to stay there!

Went for a wedding the wedding was nice but the first bathroom was flooded. The building was run down and outdated, went to the other bathroom and there was a huge hole in the ceiling I could see light from the sun — definitely needs updated badly! Drove around the building and the outside was rundown as well (falling apart) but the wedding itself was nice!

Me and my wife had a great stay. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and they had a pretty good bar. Troy was pretty funny and respectable.

DISGUSTING! SMELLY! ROACHES! AC DOESNT WORK! I’m so mad at myself for trying to save $20! The Iowa health department needs to close this place down. Owners should be ASHAMED!

Was there for 6 days. The carpets in the hallway were up and made it smell bad. The pool was down. (Was supposed to be fixed before 3-10-18 got there 3-17-18 and was still down and they don't tell you). Breakfast was supposed to be done at 9 and they stopped it at 830. Went to do my laundry and found drug baggies in the dryer. Just a crappy overall stay.

The place was very convenient to the interstate, on and off no problem. My room, while older in appearance, was clean and I had a good Wi-Fi signal. Check in and out was a breeze. The price was awesome. However, I got the feeling that there was a more long term feel to the people staying there. There was a sign with the price of the linens in the bathroom, letting you know if you took them that you would be charged. I guess this has been an issue with their clientele previously. I was a tad nervous about my vehicle, as I was moving several items to a job farther north. While my room was perfect, especially for the price I paid, I would probably not stay here again secondary to the location in town.

For what we paid, it was just fine. If you expect the best, go to the hundred plus motels. We are thrifty and just want a nice nights sleep and it was just fine.

Clerk not friendly or good at job. Called manger, still waiting for return call. Room nice, clean. Service is important. Would not stay again.

It was an okay stay. Highly disappointed the pool was YET AGAIN broken during our stay which is the only reason I book a hotel in town. Even called before booking and they said it was working. The room smelled horrible. My kids didn't even want to stay. I don't know if I'll book again.

Great place for a good nights sleep and great Breakfasts… they also have an all day restaraunt connected that has a terrific menu!

Worst hotel ever. I do cheap hotels for vacation this by far worst ever. Smell like sewer so bad. Dirty every where.

My rating is 0. Im not sure how this hotel is still in business or why the state hasnt shut them down. We stayed on dec 1. We took our daughter to shopkin live show at theater. We travel a lot and like to save money where we can and it looked like a nice place on line. It was very deceiving. We are not picky and don't usually complain. We are pretty good about making the most of things. But I don't want someone else's special time ruined. We checked in and went to go to their $8 lunch "buffet" it was only one thing — breaded fish. Nothing with it no tartar sauce, no soup nothing just fish. The buffet was filthy and we wouldnt eat their free breakfast. No big deal we ate out at this wonderful diner horizon I think (very good and staff was amazing). The room at the inn smelt like sewer/ mold (I'm allergic — they refused refund so we tried to make most of it). The 2nd floor walk way is slanted (didn't bother me my daughter and I made a game of it but my fiance has ankle issues since he broke it and it was causing him pain to walk at a slant — no big deal just asked to be moved to first floor. The room was hot no big deal turned on ac and went back to bed. Woke up in a sweat. They only have heat during winter so we when we turned on "ac" it was the heater. When I recommended to front desk that they mark it or tell guests at check in. She told me we don't have to. I said don't you think guests should know that. She said with attitude "no" I said oh ok.

An older place, but good staff and an affordable price. The breakfast is complimentary. The suana was relaxing.

This hotel is the worst I've ever stayed at the rooms and hallways are always musty, most of their towels and wash rags are stained. We had to change rooms several times because one rooms toilet overflowed and flooded the room, the next room they tried to give us had roaches crawling, then the next room had a mouse running around it jumped and ran across my roommates bed, then the last room also had roaches in it every room they gave us had a problem. And the desk attendant had the nerve to be smart with us. This hotel needs the health department to come check it out asap!

Disgusting rooms and hall ways! Had reservations for two nights and figured by the price that they would at least take care of the place. Water comes out yellow, the bed was broken in the middle, no way of consistently controlling the temperature and yeah I called and complained about it. They actually told me that it was only a heater… turn it off to cool the room then wake up in the middle of the night to turn it on when it gets to cold. We were in the room for the first two hours trying to cancel it all and try our luck at another hotel but they would only cancel the 2ed night because we already checked in. Please what ever you do avoid this place like the plague!

Not a clean place and smell sooo bad! And my car got broken in and got all my personal stuff stolen and the teams members from the hotel didn’t do nothing. The cámara are not working that was they answer!

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Items throughout the hotel were broken an dirty. There was graffiti in the stairwell and a strong smell of urine. The phone in the room was broken and the carpet felt wet. Never again will I stay here.

Slept very well. Sweet girl at the front desk. Very dated place. Shower was clean, sheets were clean, but the place needs better maintenance.

It's ok. Not what I expected. Needs allot of updates and maintenance. Smells a little. The bar serves food and its very good. The bar is the best thing about this establishment.

If I could give this hotel a zero, I would. After having to switch rooms several times, due to safety issues, filth, and no air conditioning, we finally had to stay in a room with a clogged bathtub because they wouldn't give us a refund. The only thing halfway decent was the breakfast and the night clerks who tried their best to assist us.

Great stopover. Friendly staff. They have great sandwiches and perfect fries.

The room that my grandmother stayed in was room 209. It was on the second floor. On the way to her room we smelled either a strong stench of weed or mildew (cause there was a laundry room that had a fan aimed at it). Then on the way to the pool there was someone who had lit a charcoal grill between my vechile and another person's car. The pool was clear but at the same time kinda cloudy, it was also kinda cold and the hot tub was too hot to where I couldn't get all the way in. We've stayed here before and didn't have an experience like this.

It was a decent place, but when I took my two kids swimming the other people there were being so disrespectful. They were jumping in the pool, splashing, yelling, and swearing. Not to mention these kids were only 12 years old. We went to tell the front desk and the worker came immediately and talked to the young kids, but as soon as she left they continued what they were doing before.

It's better to sleep in the car. The only reason we stayed there is because the price was low, but it's definitely not 2 stars and for that price I've stayed in a lot better hotels. Staff was acceptably helpful, but the building and the rooms were atrocious. Everything is from 80s, pretty worn, smells terribly. A lot of little details like rust in the bathroom and sink and chipped furniture I'm not even gonna talk much about. TV is tiny and no mikrovawe and cooler. We were missing pillows. Spider web on the sealing. And doors are going right outside, like of it was a motel, not a hotel. Seriously, it's better to sleep in the car than in that "hotel".

Room looked nothing like picture. Non smoking room smelled a lot like smoke. Lights broken in hallway as well as room. Soiled box springs. Stains and someone elses hair all over mattress. Locks didnt work on door, sketchy environmemt. Pool was out of service and had been for some time. Dont stay here.

We booked this off of Priceline. The photos may have been from a different facility. They looked so different. This place is falling apart (the fan in the shower was hanging by a cord… Numerous other issues. ) Pool was closed due to a GAS LEAK. The whole place was dimly lit, not secure, and we overall did not feel safe. We were there less than 15 minutes before deciding to go to another hotel, even of we forefeited the money we paid Priceline.

Dirty, run down, no ventilation in building & in rooms. It smelled of musty old dirty building, possibly mold smell. It was gross! Mattress & box spring was badly stained. Disgusting! Ceiling plaster was hanging down in several areas. Trash every where! Building was poorly lit & halls were dark. I was concerned for my safety. Security latch in my room was busted & hanging. No customer service! The different people at check in counter, didn't have a clue what was going on! So, much wrong with this place!

I dont think they deserve the star I gave. This hotel need to get it together. The heat dont work in the rooms, not all the rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, half the staff never know what that are talking about, housekeeping walks in your room even if you tell them just a min. Because half of them barely speak english.

Absolutely terrible! if I could rate 0 stars I would. Ceiling in bathroom falling apart, scratch marks on furniture, super sketchy, holes in walls, NO Wi-Fi OR SIGNAL, beds broken, mold on walls, pool was disgusting (underwear was just laying in the flier by the pool) blood stains in the pool bathroom and all over paper towels, outlets out of wall, fridge missing, TV turned on as I flipped a light switch but the lights didn't turn on, staff was OBVIOUSLY lying to another man staying there (with a little kid with him) rooms smelled like smoke and dirty socks were in the trash, bed bugs, and showers we disgusting! NEVER STAY HERE I DONT SEE WHY ITS NOT OUT OF BUSINESS YET.

Bed bugs. Itchy whole night. Warped flooring. Holes in curtains and towels. Curtain not cover window. Unsecured room and exterior door. Someone used crowbar on exterior door other exterior door kicked in. Rusted drain leaking faucet no heat is winter. Fan lots of noise. No Wi-Fi at all. Rude service. Broken beer bottles people messing around cars. Hair and white goo in bathtub. Constantly noise in hall. Photo is a lie is no grass. No sign looks like condemned building. As do buildings around it. Gangbangers everywhere.

Save your money-BUGS in the sink and kleenex dispenser, mold around the doors, broken fixtures and bed, non smoking rooms are smoked in. Rating is a "0". I didn't even make it an hour — keep your children away. DO NOT stay here. With all of these reviews, why is this place still in business… I repeat again — DO NOT stay here.

Horrible we had been there several days our complaints were heat didnt work room was ice cold, there was a bloody tampon under one of the beds and when I hung my clothes the entire rack fell off the wall after complaining the hag beg hind the counter made up a story a d kicked us out stating the cops were looking for me which after calling they be we were at all so don't complain they wont fix anything just kick you out!

This is by far the worst hotel experience we've ever had. We were given a room on the back side of the additional building. The first impression was of the numerous beer bottles littering the ground. The room had an overpowering bad smell of smoke that gave me an instant headache. The beds were in very poor condition and one of the bedspreads had a huge rip on the top. We decided to cut our losses and found a much cleaner hotel. Will never, EVER, consider this hotel chain again.

I did not like this hotel at all! When we first pulled up there were 2 cop cars and they were knocking on a door right next to ours! The bathroom door had gang writing on it and the room was absolutely filthy! While brushing our teeth the sink would not drain! In the bathroom the ceilings were falling down! Don't stay here the TV remote did not work and neither did the room phone! Very sketchy hotel!

I can't think of one good thing to say about this hotel. Didn't get the room we booked. Ice cold in the room, no heat (this is late October in IOWA! ) Staff had nothing but excuses. Wi-Fi was non existent. Free breakfast was horrible. Place was creepy, dirty, and should be shut down.

My employer k&b transportation has put me up here many times and I appreciate my company doing so. The rooms are low cost $ 28 — $50 a night how ever there is ALWAYS something broken in the room. Showers are not very hot the staff is awesome and nice the pizza in the bar is great the outside pool was dry all summer the breakfast is OK but filling the Horizon Restaurant across the street is great and good priced the hotel is about a mile from downtown and thus is walking distance were you can play slots at the crappy new Hard Rock Casino or go have a great meal at Famous Dave's BBQ or one of the other restaurants.
