Hotel

Hotel is in a nice location for park accesses and to get to Illinois quickly. Nice area and nice staff. Could have been a little cleaner, there was some sort of frost and what looked like mold in the center window. I'm assuming the frost is from the air conditioner, but the mold is kind of gross. Very thin walls, loud traffic outside. Beds were clean, shower and bathroom were clean, although the toilet had what I think was that in it which made it look dirty. Wasn't bad by any means, but wasn't great either.

Older hotel yet clean and comfortable. The staff we have interacted with are great. The pool is clean. Close to the river which is a plus. Town has a rich history.

Good place for the price. Fun for the kids. Great family place.

Decent place. Beds are a bit hard for me but not awful. Pool to swim in and service was all friendly.

Wow Where to begin… No electrical outlets to plug phone or computer in unless you move heavy furniture, bed was like sleeping on concrete, only ha two sheets on bed so had to crank up heat to stay warm then got too hot. Toilet flapper had to be adjuster after every use or it kept running, Get desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

For the price its not a bad expressive. Rooms are clean and staff is nice. Just a bit out dated.

Pool was cold. No towels in the pool room. Bed was uncomfortable, bathroom was small. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly.

Staff very helpful, even with a fully booked hotel. Breakfast was good and staff went out of their way to start it early.

The lobby is going under some renovation. They had portable AC units but it was still hot in there. Rooms were fine with keeping the room cold. The beds were in need of a new mattress. Really bouncy. The elevator is slow. The breakfast was probably the most decent thing out of everything.

Great hotel with long history. The oldest in the city. I have been coming to this hotel for more then 40 years. I was her when my grandfather was in the hospital in the 1970s. I love this hotel. Like the pool that that they have, the closeness to the river so you can take a walk and they have a great breakfast bar. There are things that could make this hotel just that much better. For some reason, there is no switch to turn on the exhaust fan even though there an exhaust vent in the bathroom. I checked with the front desk and was told that the exhaust vent turns on automatically. Did not observe this in my room. The chairs in the room were too low making it uncomfortable to work on my computer. The bathroom door did not close smoothly. The fitness center had a water dispenser but had no cups or water. The AC was out in the lobby. Granted, my rating of four stars is probably higher then it should be but I do love this hotel. I will stay at this hotel in the future an I wish the staff and ownership of this hotel the best.

The lobby was too hot, the shower curtain was not holding, otherwise it was fine.

Considering the price we paid for this place it was great! There are a few things I expect from a hotel: cleanliness, comfort and space. This is an older hotel that has had a few renovations carpet was newer than it was old and the beds seemed to be better than most. We stayed 4 nights. The pool was clean and great temperature. We had a king suite, which had 2 flat screens and a kitchenette. The lobby area would get hot and humid, but they did have a super cooler blessing to cool it off. I would stay here again for the value.

No AC in lobby. Poor registration clerk had so many fans going and doors open to make it bearable. No AC in hallway or elevator. Room AC works. Can't use banquet rooms due to lack of working sprinklers {are you serious? } No TV remote. Has to be the slowest (& hottest) elevator along the Mississippi. Desk clerk, Jeannie, was awesome!

The floor in the room was filthy and the bathroom was gross. The only positive was that the breakfast had biscuits & gravy and waffles. Better than the typical hotel breakfast.

If you are planning to stay here, DON'T. My husband and I travel in the summers and have stayed in many many hotels. This is by far the worst! The place is not just dirty, it's filthy and scummy. The odor of mildew is so strong with you go through the front door and stayed throughout the whole building. You are given the barest bathroom essentials. Our room was very unclean and I would not walk on the floor without shoes. A customer in front of us brought in their dog which BM'd on the floor in the lobby and all they did was pick it up with a couple kleenex, no mopping. The attendants were more worried about gossiping with friends and family that stopped by to see them at work than helping the customers. Unfortunately, this was the only place available to stay. The breakfast provided was in the dirtiest conditions. I'm so bothered by this that I will follow up with their cooperate offices.

Staff was very nice and helpful, but the lobby smelled like cigarettes and the parking lot was closed for work so there was no parking nearby.

This hotel wasn't quite the best, as my room had a broken table, no ice bucket, dirty looking carpet, and a bathroom mirror that had not been cleaned (as when I got out of the shower "I ❤️ John" was legible across it). The single elevator in the building was beyond slow and frequently would not move after selecting your floor, and overall the experience was not good at all.

In both places the rooms were very clean and pretty well kept up. Good service.

It is so good and clean and staff is good.
