Our stay was wonderful! EVERY employee was so kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel was clean, the room and bathroom were spacious and comfy; the breakfast was plentiful and delicious, free shuttles to the airport and downtown and they even have complimentary guest laundry. The only reason I didn’t give 5 Stars was due to the hallways being warm. We would definitely stay there again!

Its just off the highway so for us it was very convenient. The lobby was beautiful and our room looked nice and clean but our room had an indoor window that everyone could see through. It was facing the pool so it was walked past quite often. They should've just left the window out since it served no purpose. The bar/diner next to/ in the hotel called big Al's had good food and drinks at good prices. Would definitely recommend just for big Al's. Owner is a cool guy.

Comfy bed and clean sheets were the best part. I stayed in a King Suite that was decorated nicely but was extremely loud. It had an adjoining room door where I could hear everything going on next door. The phone was missing so every time I needed something I had to run down to the front desk. It was a sports weekend and they were sold out so the gal at the front desk was run ragged. Overall just average. Not what I expected after reading other reviews.

So much of a good versus bad hotel has to do with when it was built or when it was last remodeled. This beautiful remodeled Ramada inn hotel is now the gold standard for this chain. The lobby looks like a luxury hotel, which is also the case for the rooms. You are surrounded by brand new everything. The location is great, right next to the airport. There is an excellent bbq restaurant connected to it, which is where the top quality free breakfast is served. The cheesy scrambled eggs and sausage are better than any other chain I can think of. Huge indoor pool. My new place in Des Moines to stay.

Our client Scott Long is a touring comedian who stayed here after a recent performance nearby, and loved the stay! The room was perfect, clean, and quiet, and the staff was super friendly (even after 2am! ) The hotel was very close to local attractions, and shopping, and there was an exercise room and pool onsite! We can't wait to send more clients here in the future!

I was here for a continuing education meeting so I didn't see the rooms. The pool looked nice and the breakfast that they served us was good! The restrooms were clean but needed more paper towels. The meeting room was nice also.

The staff was super nice and breakfast had a wide variety of food. The pillows were of the best quality I've seen in hotels. The pool looked amazing and the hotel had a nice vine to it.

It was Really nice place to place to stay. I stayed for three weeks and the service was great. And the food was good to.

Rooms are very nice. Bed are comfortable. The staff and the shuttle drives are awesome! Maybe the best out of all the hotels I've stayed at!

Very nice! The girls at the front desk were awesome. They got me checked in and to my room within 5 minutes. The rooms are clean and modern. I can't wait for breakfast. They have actual cracked egg omlettes, no boxed egg stuff. I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel in December 2017 and my truck was broke into. I went to the front desk to report this and ask if they could call the police since I'm not from the area. The front desk told me "no" that I would have to call them myself. Then I spoke with the general manager who stated that they have cameras and when the police come they will review them. Well guess what. The general manger says that there was a problem with the video system and they can't access the video, but that she has contacted her I. T. Person and they will remote into the system at email the video over by 1:00pm. So I asked under the circumstances could I get a late checkout. I was told the latest they could give me was 12:00pm. So I was forced to extend my stay, pay for another night to wait on the hotel I. T. Guy. So 1:00pm comes and goes and the no update on if they received the video. So at 2:00pm. I go back to speak with the general manager who stated that no video has come in and the I. T. Guy is not answering his phone. Well now 3:00pm fills around. No update at all. So I return to the front desk at which time I'm told the general manager is on a phone call and will be with me after her call. Well I sit in the lobby and wait. About five minutes later she comes out of her office makes eye contact with me and walks right past me. Doesn't say a word. This happened three more times. Mind you she can clearly see every time she passes me.

The hotel meets the expectations.

3.5 stars. Long hallways and easy to get lost but overall a clean environment and a good place to rest. The restaurant is good for a hotel. Is a BBQ joint. The restaurant staff wasnt great though. I stood at the podium for 20 minutes waiting to be seated then finally approached server.

The people are welcoming and nice, the rooms are great. The place is clean and enjoyable. The fitness center is very small, and the breakfast food is not the best but it's not too bad.

Not a bad place. Was under construction longer than what we were told but had a decent time there. Easy to find.

Very neat and clean. Helpful and courteous staff. On site restaurant a bit over priced but food was very good.

The rooms are amazing, though I've run into an issue with management! I was staying there recently with a friend who had fallen on hard times. He works in the mornings so I had to call down to the front desk to let them know that we needed an extension on the room. A couple of minutes later, a member of the front desk staff is sent up to my room to inform me that the GM wanted to speak with me due to issues with the room rate. Not because I was being loud or disruptive, not because I had broken any rules. So I head downstairs where I meet up with her, and she tells me that I am to present her with an ID and a form of payment because she refused to charge the card that was on file (even though she already had due to check out being @12 and it was already 1pm so it was considered a stay over. ) So I informed her of the situation, and told her that the reason my friend wasn't present was due to him working. I also informed her that I've worked in the hospitality industry, so I'm aware of the proper procedure for issues such as this. That apparently got on her nerves, because she responded with, "I'm the manager and this is how I do things. Now if I can't get ahold of your friend then you'll have to be out by 1:30 or I'm calling the police. " I'm sitting here wondering why that's even necessary when all she has to do is call my friend. So she calls him and he picks up after I tell him what's going on.

New, clean rooms. Breakfast was provided, the salsa tasty. It is nice that they provide a free shuttle downtown. It was a reliable service.

I came to this hotel expecting a great experience and the entire staff did not disappoint! Let's start with the friendly and personable shuttle driver. Once I reached the hotel, literally 5 minutes later, the front desk staff was full of energy, friendly, and quick to make the check-in process go as smoothly as possible. My check-in took less than 5 minutes… trust me I was timing. On my way to my room, one of the employees from housekeeping could see I was lost and even when she gave me directions, she offered to escort me to my room. Now that's costumer service! I truly enjoyed my room. The bed was comfortable and I LOVE all the pillows! There is a restaurant attached to the hotel called Big Al's. There Mac and cheese was damn good, I felt a level of guilt while eating. I go to Des Moines, twice a year for work and I will stay no where else but Ramada!

Clean room at a nice rate with a really good free breakfast. Recently remodeled and a nice size bathroom and a great indoor pool.

Nice place… the outside made me wonder a little but the inside was nice. It's a bit of a maze and the layout is awkward but once you figure it out it isn't so bad. It was clean and comfortable.

Clean, roomy, and fairly quiet. Quite nice for the price. Breakfast was free too, which is nice if you're in a hurry.

Nice staff. Comfy beds. Large warm indoor pool. Dirty washcloth, however, was draped over tub side when we got our room. Busy breakfast area; good hot meal. Would stay there again.

My room was amazing! It's like a palace. So big and very clean. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. Although I had issues finding my room at first, because this place is do big, I would definitely come back to stay here.

The hotel is currently under a remodel. The new rooms are clean, comfortable and up to date. The meeting spaces are also nice! I would recommend staying her for a weekend or even longer.

The service was off the charts. Bailey was amazing and didn't even let us get a cab or an Uber. She took us wherever we needed to go in town! Where do you find that type of service? Plus, the beds and sheets were so super soft and the breakfast hit the spot!

The staff were very nice and helpful. They are currently renovating and its very impressive. Love the lobby area. We stayed in 2 remodeled suites last weekend. Very clean. The pool area was very nice and like the touch that the hotel provided pool toys for my grandchildren to play with in the pool. Breakfast was very appetizing.

I was very impressed with the accommodations. They are in the process of remodeling and the improvements are impressive! Last weekend, our family stayed in two suites that were recently remodeled. The rooms were very clean. New mattresses and bedding were very comfortable. Even the mattress on the fold a way couch, was comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was very appetizing. The remodeled pool area was clean. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool toys that the hotel provided.

The drivers were always fantastic but the front desk was hit or miss. I asked one (older) lady if she had a courtesy phone because my cell died and I didn't have a room key and she appeared both inconvenienced and annoyed. The breakfast was pretty good and always hot but the construction starting at 7 a. M. Every day since thursday has been stupid and loud. We stay until Monday and if they don't take Sunday's off, I might lose my control and yell about the music playing, drilling, and talking. And I am not a complainer. I don't whine. I rarely send food back at restaurants but the lack of quiet first thing in the morning has been consistent.

It started off with a rude person at the counter. Then we get to our room and it was so filthy. There was mold everywhere on the ceiling and in the bathroom, even on the curtains and the wall paper was coming off the wall all the furniture looked as though it came from goodwill it was all chipped and beat up. The room was an outside room on the first floor and the window did not lock shut nor was there a screen in the window. When I asked for another room the lady said they were completely booked. I waited 30 minutes and went back fuming at this point and there was a different lady at the desk. I told her the issue and she gave us a different room. However the only thing that was better with this room is that it had a lock on the window and no visible mold. When I pay 200 for a room I expect it to be nicer than my house. Will never go back again.

4 days prior to my arrival (I had reserved a room with 2 queen beds well over a month in advance) I received a phone call stating the hotel was under renovation and could only offer a room with king size bed and wondered if that was ok. I had no other choice as hotels were booked due to the Garth Brooks concert. I would think that since you were unable to accommodate my initial reservation that I should have received some sort of discount. That would turn my 4 star review to a 5 star. Upon arriving though the two ladies working the front desk were genuinely friendly and helpful offering the shuttle service to and from the concert. The room was clean, though the bathroom did have some mold/mildew on the ceiling and a little along the tub. The bed was comfortable! The lady working the desk upon check out was friendly as well.

The room was moderately clean, the hotel is currently under construction. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We needed a place to stay the night to make a n early morning flight. They found a room even though the NCAA basketball touney is going on in Des Moines. Even matched an online price for the room and gave us the AAA discount too.

Enjoyed my stay at this Ramada. Was extremely close to airport (virtually walking distance) and just minutes from downtown. Was a five minute drive from the venue I performed at that night. King sized bed was very comfortable. Rooms were clean and roomy. Probably the warmest room I've ever slept in! Staff was prompt and courteous.

The hotel seems clean, the restroom vent doesn't work however which is not great when you have multiple people in a room needing showers (lots of fogged up glass & slick floors) and using the restroom. The pool area is nice, wish there was breakfast provided or if the restaurant attached made breakfast for which you could receive a voucher. Overall, worth $75-80… not much more.

This place was near the airport, and got the job done for me. I had an issue with my keycard not working, but is was quickly resolved. It's an older property, but if you want quiet, this is your show-pony. Just make sure to ask for a room that's not facing the pool, as you might hear some kids screaming at 8 am. Fitness room was a nice touch as well!

Has there been a hotel chain that has upgraded themselves more in the past decade than Ramada? The past few I have stayed at has consistently been a great surprise. Quality room, quality breakfast, great location right by airport — with tons of restaurant options around it. For the price I can't imagine I could have asked for more in Des Moines.

The staff was helpful, and there was a nice pool area indoor, as well. Spacious room, with a fridge and microwave, and comfy bed!

The staff at this Ramada Inn are exceptional. They went above and beyond to provide superior customer service both while we were staying there and after we had left. We accidentally left an item in the room, and when we called to ask about it, they had it and shipped it back to us. It arrived within three days, exactly as we had left it. I've heard that this doesn't always happen, and I just want to commend the staff and thank them for their integrity. As for the room itself, it was clean, the beds were comfortable, there was a refrigerator that kept our drinks cold, and an air conditioning that kept us comfortable. Basically everything you could ask for in a weekend stay. Thank you again.

Shower/bath was stuck on shower so my pregnant sore wife was unable to take the much needed bath she was looking forward to, was charged a lot more for pet fee than was told about over the phone, little parking for big vehicles, and no free breakfast (Standard in almost every other hotel nowdays). Otherwise place was clean and well kept.

The room is okay the people are nice but the Internet is awful. Terrible for doing business. Do not stay here if you're traveling for work or even play for that matter the Internet is so bad I had to use my phone to leave this review couldn't do it over the Wi-Fi.

Nice room. I didnt care much for the pillows, sheets, or pillow cases. The bed was quite comfortable otherwise. Staff was friendly enough. Not terribly far from downtown and attractions, but nit close to much either. All in all I could stay agian, but probably will try something else next time.
