Absolutely wonderful place! The staff was absolutely phenomenal, hands-down the most kind people. Free shuttle bus was absolutely amazing. Our air conditioner wasn’t working right and they had somebody come who wasn’t even supposed to be on the clock working and, fix it for us right away. 10/10 recommend.

Awesome, will definitely stay there again.

The staff was wonderful. Would love to go back soon. We stayed in Des Moines on 11th St. Would highly recommend it to all Thanks to the staff Made us feel so welcome. We stayed the weekend of the 30 and 31st of July.

Pet friendly! Beautiful hotel, clean rooms and lobby! We requested a first floor room when we made the reservation and they had no problem accommodating our request.
The concierge was super friendly and even suggested a few spots for us to get dinner.

We chose HIE for it's location and amenities; what a disappointment. The only nice thing about this hotel was the associate, who assisted us with check-out.
The pool was closed for repairs.
We didn't see housekeeping the entirety of our stay.
The shuttle, which had been promised to us, was not available.
We reserved a suite, because that's what a couple with three teenagers does. However, housekeeping had only left TWO sets of towels in our room.
The third party taking our reservations had assured me there was a kitchenette… I'm sorry a dorm size fridge & tiny microwave was beyond disappointing.
The rooms appeared clean, but my husband found a barrette behind the toilet. I expected more from a HIE.

After coming off of an amazing experience with HIE Cleveland, I sought out HIE Des Moines, what a mistake! Service was awful! Will never return and reviews to follow. Thanks for nothing.

Great Place for an easy no frills stay! My mother in law really enjoyed it and my nephews love the pool! Really surprised this property doesn't have an electric car charging station. Considering the free parking, it would be a prime location for a charger or two!

Wonderful place to stay. I’m from Omaha and was passing through on a road trip and I highly recommend staying here. Great rooms and awesome complimentary breakfast.

We had a fantastic stay at The Holiday Inn and Suites this past Saturday night. The shuttle driver was pleasant and prompt. The front desk accociate was extremely personable and I really enjoyed the Cinabon rolls for breakfast. We did the downtown St. Patty's day festivities and this hotel was very convenient and accommodating. Though it's been around for over 3 years it still seems almost brand new. Thank you for the hospitality.

There is very little sound proofing in the rooms and the doors do not stop any noises from the hallway entering the room. Noisy night, otherwise it was a very nice night and very clean place to see stay. Great breakfast!

I had a great experience at this hotel. Everyone was so nice, the hotel was super clean and everything was new. The room was bigger than usual, and the space was well organized. The breakfast was one of the highlights, with several tasty options. There was a really convenient guest laundry room, and everything else you might need. Excellent choice.

Hotel is modern and clean. The housekeeping staff work very hard and are super friendly. Good location. Great place to stay when visiting Des Moines.

Nicely kept hotel. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The pool area was kept clean, although the swimming pool was a little over chlorinated. They offer a complimentary continental breakfast from 7 to 10 am. There is also a decent fitness center on the first floor. The room was spacious and our bed was very comfy.

Great price even with the state fair going on. Nice rooms and tv. Great hot breakfast. A little pricey on a 20 oz coke but still would come back.

The breakfast at this hotel was amazing! Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage, yogurt and Cinnabon Cinnamon rolls. The room was clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again!

I had a wonderful stay this week at this lovely place. Super clean and smells clean. They have a delicious breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, omlets and much more. All the staff members were super nice and very helpful especially Brady, Bill, and Marcus. I have never been to a hotel and got treated like a queen. The shuttle men took us anywhere around a 2 mile radius. We got to look around town and eat at some good places and got to see Shania Twain in concert. I am very fortunate to have had a great week at my training and meeting the most nicest people ever. I definitely recommend coming to Des Moines Iowa for vacation and stay at this wonderful place. Thank you Holiday Inn Express for the most comfortable stay ever. Please keep up the great work and bless all of y'all. I hope to see y'all again in the near future.

Hotel was nice location was great just south of downtown shuttle was fast and easy breakfast was easy everything was ready on time.

I have been staying at this hotel for almost two weeks, while I was waiting on repairs to my home from the flood damage. I have had nothing but excellent service. The workers have been very polite and were very understanding of my situation. They loved when I would walk in with my kids, waving and greeting us each time we returned. I even had to repair a belt on my vehicle in the parking lot and the front desk guy (I believe it was Brady) at the time came out to ask if we needed tools or help. The other front desk guy, Chris, was amazing as well. I appreciate everything they did to help us out.

Horrible staff! Haven’t clean the room in the morning, had to wait for the shuttle to and from the hotel for over an hour! Worst holiday inn Express I ever stayed in!

Friendly staff and comfortable. Only thing that would make the experience better would be if there were smoking rooms. Non-smokers should not have to be exposed but smokers should not be completely banished either.

The only complaint comes from the dog, he was not very pleased by the lack of appropriate window perches to lay on, he believes he can look past it, since everything from the customer service to the breakfast was very wonderful. He really enjoyed the bacon.

A wonderful hotel experience all the way around! The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking care of our every need and request. The location is convenient to many locations in the Des Moines area and the courtesy shuttle was wonderful for our transportation to and from the Iowa Cubs game. Rooms were comfortable and clean — and I know where we'll be staying on our next trip to the city.

Nice, clean hotel. Handicap accessible room should have been more accommodating. Maid tried getting in our room early morning while we were still sleeping.

Brand new hotel in fast-developing trendy area of downtown. Easy walk to restaurants. Helpful staff.

Spent the night for a work event. The breakfast was good for a hotel and included pancakes, eggs, bacon, and little cinnamon rolls. The room was large with a modern decor. They had a shuttle that would drive you anywhere downtown and pick you up anytime until midnight. Overall it was a good stay.

Excellent hotel with great amenities. It was very clean and the breakfast was great! Only downside was there were a lot of yelling kids in the pool area which waa really loud.

Always a great hotel with a great staff. But this stay was rough. Tons of loud people stomping around. A dog in the hotel barking at 2am. Staff was responsive though. Pillows are rough. Need firmer pillows. I couldn't sleep on these things.

I was there for an interview with a 3rd party company and it was very clean, large meeting room and welcoming. Front desk staff were friendly and also welcoming.

The hotel was pretty nice and in a great location. Two minutes to get to the downtown restaurants and stores. But for being a new hotel, the hot tub was out of order. The breakfast that was included was decent as well.

Very new building with new amenities. Minor cosmetic damage that will be repaired. Hot tub was closed and the moulding/caulking around the bathtub faucet was broken.

One of the better hotels that I've stayed at. Clean spacious rooms and a good morning breakfast with real eggs. Staff was polite and attentive. Will stay again when I get back to Des Moines. Kind of on the pricy side on weekends.

Great hotel at a great price. Very clean and large room. Pool area is small, but still nice. Breakfast was excellent. Multiple hot choices to go along with cereals, breads, rolls.

The suites here are beautiful! I stayed in a king suite, and the room included a comfortable lounger, a big desk to get my work done, spacious and clean bathroom, and Direct TV. Two favorite parts were — full room lighting! It wasn't just one table lamp, but actual lights that brightened the room. Also, the breakfast! Delicious, always stocked and had many options.

It's a very clean and super friendly employees strive x to do a super good job and the breakfast is completely free.

Stayed here multiple times. The rooms are modern and clean. The staff is really nice. Typical hotel pool and continental breakfast. You can walk to downtown from here if you don't mind a small trek. The view is lacking.

Close to brand new hotel with friendly staff, and clean rooms. Very near downtown but I wouldn't say it was in downtown. We stayed one night. Housekeeping came around very early and we hasn't received a Do Not Disturb sign for the door but after they knocked they gave us one and didn't bother us again. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.

I'm a pilot and this is one of my favorite hotels. Great staff. Rooms are new and clean. Beds are very comfortable! Great walk down the street to fuzzys tacos or blaze Pizza.

The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were ready for early Check in even though they were completely booked the previous night. The rooms are very clean and neat. Downtown is accessible by walk. Perfect location perfect staff.

Casual atmosphere and French inspired. Awesome French fries, blood orange mimosas, good bloody Mary's. Eggs Benedict is up there with the best. Sandwich menu is also good and includes a nice blackened tuna. Even something as simple as the toast with the brunch was made of an interesting bread that was super crispy. French toast was large and flavorful. I.
