Our mistake for thinking all Wyndham properties would have minimum standards. This property is a dump. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly. Smells in the hallways, smells in the room. Holes in the walls where the door knobs had broken the drywall. Carpet in room was dirty and stained. Sheets were clean. Noise from upstairs was very loud. Shower drain was rusty as was safety bars. We arrived in breakfast area around 9am and it looked like a disaster area. Nothing had been cleaned the counters the tables the floor were covered in spilled foods from the previous 3 hours of breakfast service. A shame Wyndham allows their name to be attached to this hotel.

Good for an inexpensive stay. Old building, no elevator, cramped floor plan, with a fairly uncomfortable mattress. Clean sheets and nice soft towels. Furnishings are adequate. Breakfast is surprisingly good compared to similar cheap hotels. My non-smoking room smells strongly of smoke, and with the AC running there is a strong odor of mildew. The after hours security lock on the front door has been removed, which doesn't really inspire a sense of safety. However, I've seen far worse among similarly cheap hotels. EDIT: Check your room door to make sure it latches when it closes! Mine didn't and I returned to find it able to push open.

The rooms are terrible, breakfast was inedible, new management is extremely rude and money hungry. They called my husband after check out to accuse us of smoking in our room and went on to say they would charge us $250. After trying to explain to them that they are mistaken, they rudely hung up on me. Also, during our stay they were doing some construction we woke to wood smoke in the hall and a fire alarm that was broken. Terrible place to stay! I would not recommend.

No frills. Clean rooms and bathrooms, decent breakfast. AC unit exceptionally noisy and rumbling.

The room was… ok. The pool is NOT large, (that picture is misleading marketing for sure) and the floor around the pool is very very slippery when wet, in the hour that I was in the pool several people had very close calls with falling down as did I even though I was trying to walk very carefully…The breakfast bar was not refilled and they ran out quickly. Granted, it was memorial day long weekend however one would expect a hotel to provide the continental breakfast they advertise regardless of the holiday. The floors or carpeted in the rooms and it seemed OK but to me that feels dirty but the towel smells clean the bathroom was clean and the AC worked which is a really big deal considering the record-breaking heat. This hotel is conveniently located, just on the other side of the interstate there is a fabulous little restaurant with delicious food and really pleasant waitresses trying to sell you on the pie! It is also close by to the mall of the Bluffs which for all purposes apparently is good shopping and their several fast food joints as well. It only took 10 minutes to get to the big AMC theater and go kart track which was pricey but fun. This is a pretty run-of-the-mill kind of hotel with a small parking lot but I got the job done for being waylaid and shut down for the long weekend… Way better than the super 8 down on US Highway 2 at I 29! Don’t go there!

The rooms were clean. The hotel is near the interstate, reasonable rates. On the down side, some of the entrances did not lock and there was no hot tub by the swimming pool.

Definitely great place for your weekend stay, Great Price with great perks! There are some minor stuffs, like the floor carpet does have a light odor and sink water does not enough pressure. OVERALL GREAT PLACE for the price you pay!

Room was clean but that's the only plus… breakfast was nasty. Dirty. Food everywhere counter was filthy. What motel doesn't have an elevator these days? that's not a big deal but, can we hire someone to clean up the counter and floors where your breakfast is being served? or keep up with the food? there were 5 people down there eating and nothing was left. And no one was bringing any more out…

We were traveling across country and needed a safe place to stay and park a small trailer we were pulling. This place was definitely it. Clean rooms and the breakfast in the morning was very pleasant. We would stay here again.

Booked a room through Wyndham direct at this Americinn and got transaction alert from my credit card company for an extra $50. The front desk told us they (Americinn) automatically tack on a $50 (unauthorized) deposit fee. Been traveling all my life including non-stop since last November and never experienced this. Clerk at Americ inn argued she's been traveling for six years and it's common. Claim the deposit will be returned upon checkout. Will never stay here again based on the hassle.

Excellent all the way around. The service and the people who work there are awesome.

Room was beyond what unexpected and the breakfast was amazing. Nobody was rude that worked there. They explained everything thoroughly.

100% sure people smoke crack here. Do not stay here unless if you want to become witness to something awful. Sketchiest hotel experience I have ever had.

Hot breakfast nice clean rooms the staff was great indoor pool, sanna and exercise room. Almost forgot pet rooms and car broke down and had to stay for a week reasonable weekly rates.

Our stay was quiet and peaceful. They offer chili and crackers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They offer a wonderful hot breakfast every morning from 6-10 am. The staff members are friendly and helpful. However, there is no public laundry facilitily on the premesis. No room service offered either but they do have a pool and sauna available for guests to utilize. Nice rooms, nice people, nice place. A wonderful refreshing touch of class. I rated it 4 stars only because of the on site laundry facilities that are unavailable. Enjoy your stay folks! We certainly did. ~KK~

First of all Josh and Kathryn are amazing people! Very helpful and friendly. I am staying long term for a job here. They worked with me on price. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They have a nice indoor pool. They have an amazing full breakfast. Good cable channels. Restaurants close by that deliver. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I had a bad refrigerator and they promptly got me a new one put in. This will be my stop anytime I come in town.

It may be the most average hotel in the world. I have stayed there probably a dozen times, and it is always clean. Nothing fancy and well worth the stay.

We were delayed when traveling home post-eclipse and were surprised to find a room available on such a heavily travelled day. Wasn't sure what to expect, it's not much to look at from outside. But the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, very, fresh, and very comfortable. Also surprisingly quiet despite facing I-80. Slept like a rock and had a nice hot breakfast.

Great rate! so I wasn't expecting too much honestly. The room was okay had a mini fridge, microwave, flat screen. Carpets were funky looking I never took my shoes off! Bathroom was decent. The bed was awful… it was already bad enough the bedding itself made me question whether I would wake up with bug bites but the mattress was hard and squeaky… but for $55 bucks after tax with no online reservation I would say I got my money's worth.

This property does not meet the Americinn standards I usually find. Rooms are very good but bathrooms need work. Coffee in lobby was out every time I checked. Last time was 5:30 am. It looks like a new takeover and work in process. Would recommend based on price and value. Will give a second stay.

Overall it was okay. Our room was clean and fine. But our tub/shower was stuck on shower only so a bath was not an option. The 220 outlet for the air conditioner had no cover so I'm glad we didn't have small children with us. The beds were comfortable so that's a plus. The eggs at breakfast were not real eggs, some kind of weird scrambled concoction but the rest of breakfast was fine. We never did find the indoor pool. Signs were wrong. You can tell it's under new management and they're trying to get it updated etc. Gonna take some time.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I stayed here a few weeks ago, awful experience. There was a team of younger kids who stayed here the same night I was here. They were up all night running up and down the halls and down the stairwell. Lucky me, my room was right next to the stairs. I did not sleep the whole night. I made complaints and the front desk receptionist told me that there was nothing she could do, but would pass the word along to her General Manager, Joshua Russell. Of course, Josh never called me. When I called Josh two days later, he said he never got the full story. I guess you do not need to call when you do not get the full story. Typical. I told Josh the situation, Josh said there was nothing he could do. Only when I told Josh I would write a bad review did he say he would give me a 20% discount that would be credited towards my card in 3-5 business days. That never happened either. Once again, typical. I repeat do not stay here!

My stay was June 27th/28th 2016 OVERALL 1 star — The stay ended terribly, but I'll start with the positives. Bed was clean and comfortable, AC pumped out cold air just fine. The bad? Shower head was mounted for a 5' tall person (hit me in the chest). No biggie I guess. Room smell was so nasty I left my business attire hanging in my truck overnight. Yep, I had no intention of going into sales calls wearing clothes that smelled like my room. I also should have checked, but this hotel has no elevator (and looks and feels like a cheap 1980's hotel). Lastly, and the most important / negative thing about my stay? I left 3 days ago and STILL do not have a receipt. A business traveler NEEDS A RECEIPT, this establishment only offered excuse after excuse (printer not working via wirless was the first one). Promise to email, but it did't happen. Promise for follow up from owner/GM, of course, DID NOT HAPPEN. 3 days after check out I still have NO RECEIPT. Biz operates like its 1985. Stay elsewhere people, not worth he headache. P. S. I had stayed 13 straight nights in a hotel, I've learned to be very appreciative of clean rooms, good AC and happy staff. Not every hotel is created equal, nor do they charge the same. Myself fighting for a receipt so I can expense my stay is 100% unacceptable, and would be unacceptable to ANY business man who reads this.

Terrible place. Shouldn't be allowed to be in business. Smells like smoke; floors and furniture dirty and stained. Toilet seat dirty and when I asked about, "there's nothing I can do about it. I just work here. " I ended up cleaning it myself. I didn't realize I was reading reviews about a different AmercInn location. My bad, but this place is ridiculous!

The room was clean and breakfast well stocked. The bed was comfortable and the shower was warm. The only complaint was they had no extra blankets and had trouble finding us a room that was ready. They said they were never this packed so it might be a one of. We will definitely be coming back.

Was not impressed with the room. Torn carpet, holes in walls and doors, holes in bedding, dirty curtains, musty smell in room. Would not stay here again; certainly not worth the $90. The only nice things were the TV stand furniture and TV. Also the door to enter the side entrance of the hotel said it'd be locked at all times and you'd need to use your hotel key, but it wasn't actually locked and there was blue painters tape on the lock. As a single girl traveling alone, this didn't feel the safest to me, so I blocked my room door with a chair. Wouldn't recommend.

Service was ok but rooms were not cleaned well we had hair in our bathtub and our friends tp dipenser was ripped off the wall and had only half a roll of tp and beds needed to be updated.

I will NEVER give these pricks my money EVER AGAIN! Here's why. My girlfriend and I were in between apartments and we needed long term stay. I was expecting a stove and living quarters that were neat, clean, and presentable. Boy, was I mistaken when I chose this CHEAP ASS living space! Tiny ass fridges, and a microwave is what you'll get. No hot breakfast, and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! They have a lady that resides in this hotel that IS mentally challenged and doped up on METH and God knows what else. Not only is this a cheap place to stay, but the price truly does reflect the clients. I will spend an extra 100 bucks to stay somewhere else next time! Trashy, sketchy people are what this hotel thrives on! DO NOT GIVE AMERICAN INN YOUR MONEY! YOU WILL REGRET IT.

8 don't know who writes reviews on this dump its my guess its the people working there its the worst motel in council bluffs by far.

Had stayed there multiple weekends to the point that some of the staff greeted me by name. Even though it did smell like wet dog in some of the roomB I brought air fresheners. But I was very disappointed with my last stay. I was sitting in bed, watching T. V. And was bitten by a bug, when I pulled back the sheets I saw 2 more crawling around. I immediately called the front desk and ask for a new room. The lady came in and bagged one of them up to show the owner. When I checked out the next morning I asked for a bed bug report and I was informed that no report was made and they claimed it was a "rollie pollie" bug. I took pictures of the bugs and compared them with pictures of both bugs and im convinced that they were indeed bed bugs and I received no refund, no discount, nothing, and I had been doing business with them for over a month with multiple stays. So disappointed they didn't try to make things right on their end.

The handicap room had no bath stool and no handheld shower. We were given only two of each kind of towel. There was barely enough room to get the wheelchair around the bed. The hot breakfast was okay and so was the bed. I never did manage to connect to the Wi-Fi. The login page never popped up.

The windowed opened. My son jumped out of it. What else do I have to say. Nice breakfast though.

Room is dirty smells like wet dogs. Got past that then a rarely large spider was running across the wall. Well I could of looked past the smell and stained rug and one spider then another came scurrying across the ceiling. That was my cue to leave. Western inn here I come.

This place is disgusting. Dirty rooms, stains and spits over every inch of the bedspreads. I only rated the service as being good because our money was refunded 15 mins after we checked in. Don't stay here.
