Hotel was decent. Smoke smell throughout. Other than that the rooms were quiet and I got sleep so it did it's purpose.

Meh. Acceptable for the price. The bathroom fan was super loud and the room was a bit musty. But it had a good sized fridge and even a microwave. Wifi was pretty good too.

Does not deserve any star! It’s Very noisy. I can’t sleep well. It as hasn’t windows, I can hear the cars driving and people outside talking. + There is water dropping from the top (so noisy)

So far it's a nice quite comfortable place. The people that checked me in were good and friendly and fast. The room is big and the bed is comfortable what more c as n I say? Nice place.

I booked a room for Iowa St. Graduation weekend. First, the room was not the one I had booked and was given a different room (I ordered 2 double beds and got a king instead) and they refused to accommodate my request. Asked for a roll away bed since I now need it and then proceeded to tack on a fee for that after I had already paid and left the hotel (rate was added on 2 days after the stay). Had to ask for cups for the room and didn't get any breakfast in the morning at all — no food was left. I was down to the breakfast area around 8am. For the totally outrageous rate I paid, this was unacceptable. I called to ask them to take the roll away bed off the bill since they had given me the wrong room in the first place and the woman on the phone wouldn't give in, she told me to call back in a week. As a business owner, this is a place I would never recommend.

This place is clean and convenient. The internet speed is good but sometimes you can not connect to it.

Gross, it seems the owners and their adult family may live here. The strong smells from the guest "kitchen" are over whelming and make it to the lobby. The room was so so, mini fridge smelled and was dirty. The young, check in host Friday night was nice, but we never saw another host for our remaining 2 days. It was a last minute trip to ISU, but never will return to this hotel. Cheep, but not worth it.

Not a good place! Stains on sheets, dirty floors, phone in room not working, front desk person was very rude. Breakfast was a joke. Cold eggs and no bacon or sausage. No milk to drink. Do not stay here!

Rooms were clean. Asked front desk clerk for 2 pillows for pull out bed and extra bedding. Only brought one.

Nice, clean and quiet room. Perfectly fine for an overnight stop on the way through town. Breakfast in the morning definitely left something to be desired but the kids were happy with blueberry muffins and Froot Loops.

The owner of this hotel is super nice! Our car was out of power in the morning when we wanted to leave. We asked for help, and he was very willing to help and told us to be more careful. He saved our trip. We appreciate him!

I chose the Days Inn Ames because most of the Days Inns that I've stayed at are nice and clean, but this one is completely opposite. It smells of smoke in the hallways because people are allowed to smoke inside. When I took a shower the shower curtain was completely molded and the towels had huge stains on them. Everything was very dirty. I arrived past the cancellation time or I would've tried to find something nicer in the area.

Not too expensive, friendly staff, and cozy rooms.

The Days Inn in Ames, IA is a great last minute, cheaper option, which is exactly as advertised. The staff are wonderfully friendly, and very helpful. Overall the Days Inn in Ames, IA is a perfect example of a Days Inn.

I was charged more for my stay then I was quoted when I made the reservation. I informed them upon check-in, stated I needed to talk to the manager in the morning. In the morning they stated I had to have done something about it before staying and were unable to get me the manager to talk to. Told me they price I was quoted was a mistake and they would not be able to do anything for me. Morning person very rude upon inquiring and just told me it was too bad because I didn't do anything when I checked in. Although, when I signed in I did write on the sign in that I disputed the price. She told me I should have reserved directly with them instead of through their national reservation line.

We arrived are 530 pm, and our rooms were not cleaned and ready yet. The manager was rude. He had assured us on the phone we could direct bill, but he would not once we arrived. The rate was cheap and the blankets warm, but that is about all I can say positive. There was soap scum in the shower, holes in the sheets, goldfish crackers left on the floor, and an overall grungy feeling. The other guests were loud, and management would not address this. I did thoroughly look for bed bugs and was happy to not find evidence… but I'm still skeptical.

Over my last few visits, they have spent a good amount of time and money renovating and upgrading the rooms, giving a much better hotel atmosphere. Great location on Duff Avenue.

There were bedbugs in my room! After they blamed it on me, and the manager and I got into a shouting match, it was apparent that they didn't really care and weren't going to do anything to rectify the situation. I will be charging back my room fees. The employee would not give me the name of the manager who yelled at me so I couldn't "leave a bad review. " Her words! NEVER STAY HERE! It's dirty, there are bedbugs, and the employees and manager are jerks!

Don't stay here they are infested with bedbugs. Had to strip in my garage when I got home and put everything in bags. What a nightmare! Poor people staying there that don't have Internet to read what really goes on in this bug motel. Hopefully Days Inn will take care of this very unhelpful and rude management.

The conga line was as fruitful as a basket of otter dance skills without limits.

Poor service and the manager was quite rude. The rooms were fairly small and didn't smell clean. The only reason I'm rating the place this high is because it was cheap.

Don't go here. Seriously Don't Waste Your Time or Money! We spent $200 to get a Suite with a hot tub and a Queen sized bed. We checked in and the room was smaller than an average hotel room. For a suite I would at least expect a seating area instead the only seating was the desk chair and a chair that was randomly set next to the door. And there is no way that bed was a queen. Plus like everyone else has already said, the place smelled horrible! The room was clean other than the hot tub but the entire hotel just stank! The Breakfast was stale like if they had been setting the same exact food out everyday the biscuits were cold and hard and the oj tasted like they hadn't ever cleaned the machine out.

I stopped there to shop for a room, It was last minute on a Monday afternoon. My son attends ISU and do to an emergency I needed a room. It was only going to be one night. I was quoted $79 needless to say I passed knowing I could go on Trivago and get the same room for $64. It smelled bad in the lobby, now after reading the reviews online I am glad to have stayed somewhere else.

If you can imagine a poor smelling, damp locker room, this is what the room smelled like. The breakfast was very underwhelming. If you're okay with fruit loops and Raisin Crunch and some yogurt, you'll be okay. Anything beyond that you better go to the Panera next door. Even for the price, this would be my last choice if I had to choose again.

Reserved a room for 2 day orientation at Iowa State. The rooms walls were filthy, the bathroom lights did not work. There were cobwebs in the corners and we debated whether or not the sheets had actually been changed. The room smelled of a cross between stinky feet and air fresher. The Halls left us wondering why we were there. We decided not to stay. The clerk just gave us a blank look as if to say what is the problem (in very halted English). Moved over to the Quality Inn and am so glad we did. Well worth what they charged. Now if I can just get Days Inn to refund my money for a night not spent there.

The driveway was treacherous for the undercarriage of any vehicle not made by Hummer. The room was barely big enough to accommodate the two queen beds. The bathroom was cramped, sink on the outside. And the vending machine stole my dollar. On the bright side, the staff was exceedingly courteous. And beautiful. And the Mexican place next door had a 68-oz. Margarita pitcher for $15.
