The owners, Robert and Douglas, are awesome and provide spectacular guest service. From the personal call to me a couple days prior to arrival to discuss any needs; to the tour of the entire house upon our arrival; to taking our luggage up to our room (unbeknownst to us) ; to their 5:00 pm daily happy hour; to their little “potting shed” where guests can consume their cannabis without disturbing the other non-participating guests; to the educational cannabis counsel provided to me; to the beautiful, comfortable room; to the delicious breakfast; to the handwritten thank you note given us upon our departure. Every detail, and well beyond, is meticulously thought of and executed. Robert & Douglas are the consumate innkeepers and provide outstanding customer service to their guests. It is very evident that they take great pride in their business. Worth every penny!

We had a wonderful time at Aldrich Guest House. Robert and Douglas have the art of inn keeping down to a science. We have stayed at many places in Galena and this experience tops them all. Absolutely gourmet-quality breakfast, complimentary happy hour with delicious, seasonal libations… beautiful room, house, and grounds to relax in! Robert and Douglas themselves are so kind and personable. They went above and beyond to make for a delightful time.
We are already planning our next stay. After over a year of doing nothing this was the perfect reset button. I recommend 100%.

What a lovely warm and enjoyable stay we had! Great breakfast, the best possible hosts with lots of info if you want it, friendly not pushy lovely comfy accommodations. Pretty much a perfect place!

We had an absolutely delightful stay at the Aldrich House. The history and architecture of the house was incredible. Each room was decorated thoughtfully to preserve the historical value of the home with a modern touch. The breakfasts were to die for! Robert and Douglas were top tier hosts. Just had the most lovely stay with Douglas and Robert. A spontaneous getaway provided us the relaxation and comfort we needed. The gentleman were so thoughtful to leave me a lovely Mexican dessert in the room to help celebrate my upcoming birthday. The inn is so beautifully maintained with perfect balance between the original architecture and modern day conveniences. This gem of an inn is my new recommendation and I know anyone would love this place.

This is a beautiful, lovingly maintained historic home! There are five upstairs bedrooms which are nicely furnished and perfectly clean and fresh. There is a large sitting room, a nice dining room and comfortable screened side porch. The hosts are wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend this bnb.

This was by far the best bed and breakfast we have stayed in. The breakfasts were amazing, and the hosts were charming. The location was wonderful, close to downtown shops. So much history was maintained in the house while keeping it convenient for modern day.

Wonderful service. Robert and Douglas thought of everything. Beautifully decorated home with stained glass window entrance. Breakfast is same quality as high end restaurants. They also made my wedding anniversary memorable by giving us a complimentary little bottle of champagne. We even made some new friends at breakfast the first day there. Definitely coming back.

We had an incredible time this past weekend at the Aldrich Guest House. My fiancé and I had the opportunity to walk in the annual Galena Halloween Parade as guest. It was a great experience from start to finish. Thank you again, for making our weekend so enjoyable. Well done Robert and Douglas!

Our weekend at the Aldrich Guest House was nothing short of perfect. The accommodations spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was like nothing we have had before at any Bed and Breakfast. The location was ideal for enjoying downtown Galena. But best of all were our hosts, Robert and Douglas. They were engaging and you truly felt like you were visiting friends versus guests at a hotel. Their knowledge of the area was tremendous and their recommendations were spot on. If this is your first trip to Galena or you are a regular visitor, the Aldrich Guest House is a must. It truly was the most relaxing and enjoyable weekend we have had in a long time. We will be back!

We came across the Aldrich Guest House by chance. And very glad we did. My wife and I came to Galena on our motorcycle ride just for a day trip, but ended staying longer than we planned so we needed a place to stay for the night. When we took a trolley ride the driver drove by this place and said good things about it so we decided to walk up to it and see if they had a vacancy. Our host Robert and Douglas couldn't more pleasant. They gave us a tour and showed us the 2 rooms they had left for the night. The larger room was about 40 bucks more a night and yet they let us have it for the price of the smaller room. Each room has its own airconditioner. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The entire house is very beautiful with a screened in porch and spacious and beautiful yard. We missed out on the evening wine they offered us, but we thought that was a nice touch. They offer so much more with your stay including breakfast but this review is running to long as it is. We highly reccomend it if you're ever in the neighborhood.

The rooms are quaint and well decorated, it doesn't feel like I'm staying at a grandparents house like most B&B's. The service is top notch. The owners clearly know the hospitality industry and care deeply about the property and guests. Would highly recommend!

Fell in love with this B&B when we first entered! Gracious hosts, Douglas and Robert, welcomed us into their home warmly. We knew we were with friends and would be well taken care of. The decor was light, airy, comfortable, and so true to the period of time in which it was built. Our room was delightful and comfortable. Breakfasts were gourmet perfect and served in a beautiful dining room. Evening wine gatherings on the screened in porch overlooking lush gardens were so inviting for all guests. We hope to return soon!

This is the best Bed and Breakfasts we have ever been to and I highly recommend it. Robert and Douglas are outstanding, gracious hosts who honestly care about their guests. We have been several times and it is always like going back to visit family. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. The front sitting room is very comfy and a great place to listen to quiet music with a good book to unwind at the end of a day. And don't forget to bring your appetite for their scrumptious breakfasts!

Great food and great hosts in a charming town. Very comfortable and nicely decorated, no flowery wallpaper or pink carpet. Also, room had individual a/c and was very comfortable on a 90+ degree day with heat index over 100 degrees!

We had a great time! The owners are phenomenal! Everything is so nice and clean, the beds are comfortable, the water pressure is great. We even had a bottle of wine with souvenir wine glasses put in the room for such a reasonable rate! The breakfast was delicious, we will be back for sure!

The best first B&B experience! Douglas and Robert were the best hosts (and chefs) ever, they gave great recommendations and helped to make our weekend beautiful and relaxing. I would highly recommend this place because of the great hosts, beautiful home, delicious food, and best location to downtown area/park. Can't wait for our annual visits!

Amazing stay over the weekend! The house is amazingly clean & the food was fantastic. Robert & Douglas are incredible hosts! Would encourage you to stay here. Very easy walk through the park/over the walk bridge to downtown. No worries about parking!

Jon and I loved our stay at your bed and breakfast! To say the least the breakfast was perfect both days and wine and cheese at 5 is a nice touch. Makes you feel at home and in a small community where you can meet a couple people (but not an overwhelming amount) and talk about the plans for your days and where to eat, shop, and explore in galena. Loved that our inn keepers got us reservations on a holiday and the time we wanted for dinner at fried green tomatoes… But to top it off the gardens at the house was where my now fiancé asked me to marry him. Douglas even snapped some pictures from the window as he thought it might be happening. Such a sweet memory at such a great place to stay in galena. So yes, I recommend that you stay here!
