Great get away. Even an assortment of specialised suites for couples get away.

Clean, large room, comfortable beds, hot shower, helpful staff. We didn't try the breakfast, so can't comment on that. Will stay here again if we are ever in the area.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 5 years. Every time it is excellent. Would highly recomend anyone looking to stay in Galena to give this hotel a try. Jess at the front desk has excellent customer service. She goes above and beyond and made our stay more enjoyable. Thank you Jess!

Promotes itself as a boutique-type motel, but it is pretty average, especially for the price of the room. Typical/average pre-prepared/reheated breakfast included. We were placed in a smoking room, although our reservation was for non-smoking. The front desk would not place us in a no-smoking room because there were "full" despite arriving at 3:00 pm, making the reservation two months in advance, and being a Platinum Awards member. In addition, housekeeping had not cleaned our room by 3:30pm the second day, and never did. There are a lot of other motels in Galena, and we'll be trying one of them on our next visit.

We're stayed for 5 nights. Only planned on 4 and they were very helpful in getting us moved to a different room for the 5th night. Ours was already booked. The staff was always cheerful, helpful, polite and just plain friendly! Room was large, updated, clean and comfortable. Bed was fine. This was our second stay here. They have improved the sound proofing. Didn't try the breakfast since we don't get up till later but heard it was ok. We will return here again when we come back to the area!

We stayed for 2 gdays. Room was surprisingly large. Very clean. Breakfast both days was very good. Modern. Only complaint was we were gone all day came back & the room was exactly the way we left it. No maid service. Bed was unmade no clean towels other then that just minutes away from downtown Galena. I’d come back.

The place was great overall. But the room smells like cigarette. Pool was small but enough for my son to enjoy with other guests. Breakfast was surprisingly enjoyable and satisfying. We'll go back again.

The Best Western at Galena Is a clean and well kept hotel. The staff went beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one. I cannot say enough about our stay at this hotel. Everything was almost perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want a very good hotel in Galena this is the one.

This was a wonderful hotel. So clean, it looked like new. So close to everything. Amazing breakfast. Lots of choices. And our bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Friendly staff.

This hotel is an excellent value. Wonderful location near to the downtown then most of the newer hotels or motels. The rooms were immaculate and large. We even had a balcony with seating. This could not be improved on.

Our room was large, and the breakfast was great. I wish the bed would have been better. It felt like the mattress was over fifteen years old, and the room smelled faintly like cigarettes. I stopped noticing that after a few minutes in the room. I didn't try out the pool.

After driving 10 hours the lady at the desk said that the reservation was for a room with 1 queen bed. I showed that it was for 2 queen beds. We were told that we booked through expedia and they had no control. They offered us a second room. No discount! No empathy no apology. We left and went down the road. We will be calling best western international.

The Best Western in Galena, Illinois, is awesome! Loved our balcony room. Huge, clean, and very comfortable! All the staff members were very pleasant and professional! Right next door to Happy Joe's and walking distance to Frank O'Dowds Irish bar and restaurant! One of our best stays in Galena!

This is the most wonderful hotel experience I have ever had. The fantasy suite was beyond our imagination. The staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was truly a full breakfast and very tasty.

Very nice Best western, it was the nicest one I have been in. I have traveled alot. Cab service to bring you downtown. Area is rich with art, culture, music and scenery. Very nice place to stay.

Nice hotel, not a bad walk to downtown galena in nice weather. Just make sure you have comfortable shoes because it's up and down a huge hill. Great free breakfast in the mornings.

Room was not ready upon check in so paid grabbed keys went down town for dinner came back late to room. It was still dirty and hot tub had obviously been used night before, garbage still on floor, dirty towels still out on railing with ashes all over the floor. Brought to attention to clerk and no other rooms or could leave hotel after already paying $228.00 for room. Manager said would make right as she was gone all weekend. Never returned call. Could be a nice place, will never stay again.

I've been to Galena before and stood at the Irish Hollow. I never heard of Best Western in Galena so we thought we give it a try. As soon as we arrived, Joshua welcomed me with a smile and checked me in super fast. We couldn't find a baby sitter for our children so my wife and I were going to settle for a small room with our children. Joshua as able to find a room for us that would be best for the number of guest we had. The room was perfect and really nice and super clean. I have stayed in many high end hotels and I have to say this hotel is very top notch. Joshua is super friendly and very knowledgeable about Galena. We are looking forward in checking out Breakfast in the morning. If you are in Galena and looking for a nice clean and friendly hotel. Come to Best Western. Really nice place! Reasonably priced. Close to town and Chestnut. Really clean and friendly helpful staff. I would stay there again!

Conveniently located and reasonable priced, this BW suited our needs for a quick visit to Galena. Recently updated the decor was nice, but small details seemed overlooked (bathroom door wouldn't latch). Breakfast was adequate, typical continental breakfast with some good hot dish options. Best room would be on the back side of the building. Road noise (especially trucks) made the front less enjoyable. Overall was a good deal for our needs and we would likely stay again, but in a different room.

The hotel smelled CLEAN from the moment you walked in. Friendly staff. Complimentary bottled water if you ask. Cute indoor outdoor pool. And the Pearl room is silly and fun. Great way to spend a bday weekend and explore Galena.

We had a great stay at the beginning of this week. Breakfast had a lot of choices and our room was really cool, it looked like the inside of a log cabin. The only thing I would complain about is the other guests, we were playing music at about a level 3/10 at 8:15pm and our neighbor yelled at us to turn it down. Walls are very thin apparently. But other than that we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Staff was super friendly too!

Stayed during the week so very few other guests. Parking was close and convenient. Clean rooms, didn't have any problems at all. Wifi was complimentary but we didn't try it. Free breakfast was much better than most free offerings I've had at other hotels. Would definitely stay there again.

Clean, small hotel. Great service. Heated indoor to outdoor pool was nice, water a little chilly, but likely because the temps during our stay were sub zero. Very close to Main Street in Galena (short drive or long walk). Next door to a great Irish pub, great food and live music. We stayed in a room that backed up to a small, wooded area. There was a door that led to a small balcony; great for getting fresh air in the room in addition to the window. Would stay here again. Would give 5 stars, but included breakfast was sub-par.

Our stay at Best Western Designer Inn and Suites was just great! Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff and hot breakfast. The only thing to make it better would have been updated room decor and a chair in our room.

We loved everything about this hotel. We stayed in the Crystal Cave room. It was very clean, inviting and comfortable! The breakfast was amazing. Very, very good.

Very cute hotel located a mile from downtown Galena. The room was very clean and nice. We had the Lincoln room so it resembled the inside of a log cabin. Loved it. Only compliant is there were a problem checking out and the desk clerk didn't know how to fix the problem and the manager wasn't on the premises. This wouldn't prevent me from staying there again however.

Honestly, I could give this hotel zero stars if that was an option. My husband and I had the worst experience with this hotel. We made reservations around 8 months ago for a wedding this past weekend. When we called originally, we wanted to book Saturday night only, however they told us that there was a two night minimum for around $79 a night. We reluctantly booked, only to find out on our way down there that they had only booked us for ONE NIGHT. Friday night. Not sure how that's possible since there was a two night minimum. The guy on the phone was completely unapologetic and told us "everywhere else is booked up. " We drove 5 and a half hours to attend a wedding and didn't even have a place to stay for the night of the wedding! We wouldn't have even stayed Friday night originally if it weren't for this hotel. PLUS, our room ended up being around $150 dollars, instead of the $79 we booked it for. We received no confirmation email at the time of booking, so I didn't even have any proof that the price was lower. Additionally, we couldn't get anyone to talk to us about the issue and try to fix it. We haven't heard from a manager and everyone who works there is either 16 or doesn't have the authority to do anything. We want a refund and an explanation on how we could book a MANDATORY two night stay and only get the night we didn't need out of it… Aside from the situation, the rooms were dirty and falling apart and breakfast was horrible. Definitely not worth the $150 a night.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was clean and it even smelled amazing. The continental breakfast was delicious. The man that check us in was very nice. And the ladies that checked us out was just as nice. We have already made plans to go back in December. .

We stayed at the Best Western in Galena, IL. The room was spacious, clean, and reasonably priced. The desk staff and breakfast staff were helpful and friendly. The free hot breakfast was good. A variety of choices. I would stay here again.

I haven't been to a motel where they offered two hot breakfast options. I am very pleased with this stay. And I might add, our check in was smooth. We asked about things to do being a tourist and she was more than accommodating. I do recommend this motel especially if you stay in Galena Illinois.

I am very pleased with this stay. And I might add, our check in was smooth. We asked about things to do being a tourist and she was more than accommodating. I do recommend this motel especially if you stay in Galena Illinois.

We had a wonderful visit. We had the "Roman Palace" room, & it is beautiful. The shower with all the different ways to have water shoot out of the jets was very soothing as well as the whirlpool tub big enough for 2.

This hotel has everything we wanted and we would love to come back sometime! Pool was clean, towels provided, water warm. I love going back and forth from the inside to the outside while in the pool. BTW, it is SALT water, not chlorine! Love that! Room was very spacious and even has a balcony to sit outside. Decor is lovely, I highly recommend.

Very nice hotel. Beds were comfortable, ac worked great, nice pool and hot tub, great breakfast. Loved the waffles with strawberries and whip cream. Nice little deck overlooking a wooded area. Would stay there again for sure.

We stayed here 2 nights. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were decorated in log cabin style, they were clean, and homey. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good. Different items each morning. Rooms had a balcony, which was really nice. The town of Galena was 1/2 to 1 mile from the hotel. Very easy to get to. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This particular Best Western ranks with the best! Our room was very large, clean, and comfortable with a small balcony facing the woods behind the motel. Our suite included a larger than usual refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker. The morning breakfast was very good and had a lot of selection. Because we are early risers we appreciated the early start! The staff were all friendly, and the desk person provided information on all the amenities at check-in. She also thanked us for being Best Western members. The location was perfect. We were able to take walks to downtown Galena and Grant Park. We highly recommend this motel!

I loved it there! The rooms had plenty of space! I also had felt that the room was cleaned very well! Pool area was nice, I loved the fact that you could go outside and swim! The only thing I would complain about is that they were working on our balcony and no one told us about it and the workers started early and woke us up. I guess the front desk did even know that the workers were working on our room. I felt that it wasn't there fault but I told them that they should keep track maybe a little more. But over all we truly loved our stay and would most defiantly stay again! 5 Stars!

Nice rooms. Clean, comfortable, exactly what I expected. Staff on the other hand is rude. Been staying here weekdays for 2 weeks now and now twice on Fridays I've come back to housekeeping in my room even though I put my "do not disturb" sign up … check out time is 11am, both instances happened earlier than 10am. Each time the housekeeping girls said that the front desk had told them I checked out even though I never did.

Stayed in a hot tub suite. I stay in a lot of hot tub suites to relax my back after long drives. This hot tub was large, easily enough for 2, maybe even 4 very friendly people. The gas fire place was a nice touch as well. The breakfast was good quality for continental.

Everything was great. They have a nice pool and spa area. It's really close to Chestnut Montain (our destination). I am just not giving 5 stars because we took a room to 5 people and there were only 2 queen beds. Usually other places have a sofa-bed.

Absolutely pathetic service and lack of integrity. Made a reservation and then called to cancel it. I was told that I would not be charged for the cancellation. However, upon checking my credit card statement I noticed that I was charged the full amount. They lied to the credit card company that I was a no show and there was no cancellation. This motel is a scam under best western's name. Avoid like the plague. You will also see other pathetic reviews for this motel on yelp, etc.
