This place is a joke the employees were drinking by the pool with little kids around on the job. My nephew about got kicked in the head by one of them while he was jumping in the pool. The front Desk employees was slow and rude. The room wasn't even clean and it wasn't even ready when we got there past the time we were able to check in! And to top it all off the pool was green the reason why I booked the hotel and they close the down at 6 PM instead of closing it down in the morning. You think if it was nasty when you opened the pool up you wouldn't open it up in the first place.

Duct Tape holding the coffee maker lid on… toilet paper dispenser coming out of the wall, cold shower… The room was clean tho… kudos to housekeeping!

I actually was a housekeeper here up until today when I found out there was a bed bug outbreak and they had only exterminated the rooms ONE time and then sold them the very next day to unexpecting customers. I actually went down to tell my boss I wasn’t comfortable cleaning the downstairs rooms (that’s where the infestation was) but I would gladly clean the upstairs rooms on my list. But she automatically assumed I was quitting which of course was my second choice if she didnt comply with letting me skip over those rooms and started throwing cuss words at me and says “I guess I just shouldn’t have told you” I feel like that is DEFINITELY my right as a housekeeper to know what nastiness is in the rooms first of all and it is also my right to refuse to clean the rooms. So really the real reason I actually quit was due to her foul mouth and snobby attitude towards me when it was a legit concern of mine. I just got an apartment and I have a very young toddler and bed bugs is the LAST thing I need. Not to mention they clean everything with water, that’s it. They have a bathroom cleaner but we’re told to clean the floor with air freshener and water. Dusting? Gets done with water. It is truly a disgusting establishment and I wouldn’t stay there if the only other place I had to go was a box. Plus management is very petty. Better make sure your checked out ten minutes before 11 or else they’ll charge you an extra 20 bucks.

The mattresses feel like camping gear … pool is a brown water hole … pay ten bucks more for comfort inn.

It's nicer than I expected for the price. The pool was out due to a pump malfunction, but that wasn't a huge problem, and the breakfast was… OK. Still, good deal for the price. Room itself was nice.

Make sure doors lock and clean the rooms. And the workers didnt smell of pot.

It was ok after we got a different room. Breakfast was great. Kids loved making their own waffles.

The rooms are nice and clean but my room didn't latch so just any body could have walked in because the locks didn't work either. The shower was nice but I had to bend backward just to get my hair wet and im only 5 7. People talking at all hours and playing with there doors. The air conditioning keep turning it self on and off. No I wont stay here again.

This was a scary and disgusting place.

Not a bad place I would probably stay again but could use some serious upgrades. Maids need to do a better job cleaning bathroom door visibly dirty. Pool was out of order in July.

Absolutely great. Everything has been re-done, i. E. Floors, beds, furniture, paint, breakfast area. Very reasonable fees.

I'm a traveling tradesman so I live in hotels for a good part of the year on the road. This hotel is a good value for the money, But on the weekends it's pretty rowdy. A lot of people partying and loud. Otherwise it's clean and comfortable.

Nice clean room. Good breakfast. Very affordable.

Had to get someone to get the TV to work and the room phone never did work. Had to use cell phone to call desk. Room overwarm and took a long time to cool.

It was a wild night at the Orchard. We accidentally bid on a silent auction item that include a hotel stay (We thought it was for a watch) two months later, we stay in the hotel and it was enjoyable. Did the job, 5/7 would stay again.

Very affordable hotel currently under renovations. My wife was traveling from Indianapolis, Indiana to Hamburg, Arkansas. Had my 19 year old daughter and my 5 year old daughter in tow. They had a blow-out in Greenup, Illinois. Got donut tire on then ran US 40 to Effingham. Went to several hotels they were either full, or too expensive (considering she had to buy a new tire ASAP before she could continue home). She pulled into the gas station looked up and saw the sign for Econo Lodge. They had no clean rooms open due to maids calling in because of flu. Karla the night auditor went and cleaned a room for them, then rented the room at 5am to my wife and my girls and she let them stay in the room well past normal check out so she could rest then go get a new tire! Such a wonderful blessing…! Thank you Karla and Econo Lodge.

Not much good here. Ist room we were given @ around 6pm, supposedly the last room available at ground level, had not been cleaned up from previous user. Then given 2 other rooms @ ground level. Hotel in much needed remodel process, but being done by amateurs it seems. Heater not working well in our room, 2 coffee makers water reservoir dirty, didn't want to use either. 1/5/18.

TV don't work. Phone don't work. Towels were sparkling white clean, beds very Uncomfortable. Staff very friendly. Rm 246.01/03/18.

Very clean rooms friendly people in nice place.

No deadbolt, ran out of toilet paper, saw a bed bug upon leaving, good breakfast.

I've been staying in a lot of hotels lately. I think this was my favorite. The outside don't look like nothing special but the room was nice. The price for the weekend was outrageous but better than the other hotels in the town. I will come back if I stay in town again.

Rooms were great. But when the room was updated they should have remodeled the bathroom as well.

I was a bit concerned at first, but it was late at night and the best price for a Choice Hotels affiliated hotel. There were cheaper options, but not in named hotels that I recognized. Lobby was clean and the night clerk was friendly. Parking in the back was dark and dodgy, so we parked in front, which is fine. Our room was great. It was recently renovated, carpets have been replaced with wood laminate. Beds were clean and firm but comfy. The room seemed a bit musty when we entered but it freshened up once the air conditioner was on. They are in the process of upgrading the rooms. Two rooms next to us were in process so we could see the progress, which is great! We didn't try breakfast because there is a great restaurant right next door with a super breakfast buffet.

Comfy beds, clean room. Only complaint: should have renovated bathroom with rest of the room. Faucets in dire need of replacement. The way they were leaking there will be mold behind the shower stall wall by spring.

Clean rooms! Cold air! Great customer service! Not sure what all the negative reviews are about.

I had to get a refund on my room as they said it was a non-smoking room and definitely was a smoking room. The beds did not have mattress covers on them and the Sheets Were stained. I will never stay here or attempt to stay here ever again.

Dirty. Bed was broken. Room smelled.

Filthy, unkept and not well maintained. Multiple lights not working and the air conditioning systems were not working.

Yo this place smells like booty and I feel like I can really relate to it.

This is one of the worst hotel's I have ever stayed in! They have bed bugs, mold, and all the rooms are very outdated and dirty. Alot of rooms are unrentable and not up to code. They have electric and plumbing problems and the locks and key cards for a majority of the doors don't work properly and you have to constantly walk to the front desk and have your key recoded and the chances of you having to wait for someone to actually be at the front desk are very high. Some of the staff workers sell drugs to guest and look like they are on drugs. The cops are constantly coming to the property for every other reason. The manager is a stuck up busy body on a power trip and lacks customer service skill. They have a horrible breakfasts and with all the bugs I have seen I wouldn't eat it anyways. But others in my group told me it was horrible. The pool is in the parking lot and it looks as of someone drove their car threw one of the walls that surround the pool. They haven't picked up any of the brick and rubble mess and have this caution tape and snow fince up that is falling down to block the huge hole in the wall. The pool cover also has a huge rip in it that had a ducttape repair atempt done and looks horrible too. The whole pool area is just a huge eyes sore and dangerous for children or anyone walking by the wall at night.

They have the best costumer service … I travel for work and for the price it's a good deal. They switched my TV from a regular to a flat… just because I asked and no extra. Fee… very apologetic about door key not working. While it was being fixed… just excellent customer service… not perfect but overall decent place… will be coming back again.

Roaches in room. There was spit on the wall in our bathroom. Dirty walls. The room over all was disgusting to stay in. If I didn't have my 4 year old with me I wouldn't care so much but it was beyond gross. I couldn't really believe how dirty it was. Ohhhh also keys to the rooms didn't work. Had to go up to the front desk 4 tines to get into my dirty room.

I was lied on 10 21 2015 about available rooms. I tried to check in around 7 am and was told they had a full house the night before. As I went back to my vehicle I could see the parking lot was almost empty and several curtains were still open on rooms indicating they were available.

Old and kind of rikidy shower doesn't work properly, the fifteen year old zenith television set (19") with crapy reception. Not real bad but not worth the 67 dollars and change that they are charging more like a 45 or 50 a night motel. Should have went to the one next to the petro.
