We have stayed at the Lexington Inn In Effingham many times as it is about half way between our home and Memphis. We will, however, never stay there again. We had to cancel today because driving conditions going through Chicago were simply too dangerous, so we took a longer but safer route. We called about 10:00 am today and were informed that their policy was that they would have to charge us for our room anyway because we should have called to cancel the previous day (we didn’t decide to take the longer route until this morning). The manager said that they would offer a credit only if we stayed there within the next month, which is worthless since we will be in Arizona for the next two months. If they wanted to keep our business, they should have graciously agreed to cancel our room without penalty. This is an example of a business dying upon a needless hill and is how foolish companies go out of business. Sorry Lexington Inn, you lose.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Super clean. I felt like I was in 4 star hotel at a budget price. The only complaint was too many fumes in the pool area. The rooms were beautiful. The front desk guy was super nice. I would definitely come back here 100%

It was awesome. The lobby was clean and welcoming. The pool area was clean and classy. Each room I have been in was also very clean and ready. Receptionist was friendly and offered me a cookie on my way out.

I loved everything about this place. The concierge was very pleasant and our room was pristine. Very beautiful, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was great and even included biscuits and gravy.

This hotel looks really new, or newly renovated. Our check-in was smooth and enjoyable. My kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. There was some noticeable highway noise, but the beds were so comfortable, we slept just fine.

We stopped here to spend the night halfway on a long trip. It was easy to find and close to a Walmart and the main interstate. The rooms were nice and nice sized. The double is larger than a Holiday Inn double. We were only there a couple of hours, but we didn't have any issues.

Stopped for the night while on a 24 hour long road trip. Room was very nice and the breakfast was good. It was a restful stop on the way to my destination.

This is a really nice hotel. With a pool sauna jacuzzi great rooms wonderful beds this should be rated at Four Star. The problem is when you check in and you've used a booking site that gets you a discounted price and you want to pay cash attitudes change. I was informed that my room was now not 108 but $208 but my daughter dollars would be refunded in the morning they were unable to give me a receipt proving that I had given them an extra $100 for the room because they have video cameras. Bogus if you're going to require something like that you need to be able to give your customers a receipt that states they will get their hundred dollars back in the morning if you don't quote-unquote trash the room. It's a nice hotel but thank you I won't be going back. If you want to enjoy your stay here you need to bring a credit card and go further into debt enjoy.

Good: Clean rooms. Nice, comfortable beds. Less good: room reserved for 4 adults and only had three towels and two coffee cups. Altogether a good stay.

Very clean. Beds were really comfortable and staff was friendly. Kids had fun in the pool and breakfast was great too.

The cleanest, nicest hotel I've ever been to. We stayed in a double Queen room with a pull out couch. There was a separate room for one of the queen size beds which was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful. During the evening they serve water and you can add frozen fruit to the water as well. It was truly a great experience! And whatever you do do not forget to tip your housekeeper's as a guest! Thank you!

It's a really nice hotel. It's clean and comfortable. The staff was really friendly. The rooms had cable TV with tons of channels. They have a pool, hot tub, and a sauna on site. It's located right off the highway so there's easy access to everything.

Great location within Effingham, close to Performing Arts Center, bars, and restaurants (highly recommend Taqueria Don Pedro). Check-in at 3pm, out at noon are good times. Indoor pool also has a hot tub and sauna open until midnight, again awesome. Front desk was super friendly and helpful. Average hot breakfast options. Hot tub room was great — good A/C air with thermostat, hot tub in good working order and nice location within room, lots of TV channels, high ceilings, comfortable bed and covers. I wasn't a fan of the toiletries — smelled great but very thin like water, which was odd for the shampoo and conditioner. Lotion OK.

The staff were very friendly, yet still very professional. Breakfast (food) was like any other continental breakfast at a hotel, yet the staff person who sets it all up and does the cooking did a great job. She checked with us to make sure there was nothing we needed. The rooms were so nice! Clean, comfortable and modern. I wish all places would be this nice! (Oh, and the complimentary bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc smelled SO good and made my hair SO soft that I took the remainder home so I could see if I could buy them somewhere! )

Actually got this hotel through priceline. Very nice hotel. Fast internet and decent breakfast. Rooms were huge and beds were super comfy.

The Effingham Ill location was fabulous! Very clean, nice pool, nice rooms, friendly staff! Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We will be back!

Probably the best hotel in Effingham. Really clean room, nice sitting area in the room, and the service wasn't bad at all compared to a few other places in town. Would not hesitate to stay again, in fact I might look forward to it!

Nice place. Inviting lobby with seating area and TV, indoor pool looked refreshing and was used by several, room was clean and inviting. I liked the individual thermostats to control temp. Friendly and helpful staff. Location to Effingham is great. Walking distance to good restaurants. Right off the interstate makes it easy to access.

Me and my husband stayed in a suite last night. Upon entering the room we found dead bugs in the hot tub, when we went to sit in the desk chair it nearly dumped us out I think it was broke and our mattress kept flipping from side to side when you went to get into bed it didn't seem very stable it was on 2 twin size box springs and the mattress hung over the sides and it kept moving.

We came in late at night and the front desk person was very friendly but informed us the the elevator wasn't working but discounted our room. The room was very clean and spacious. The hot breakfast was wonderful.

Desk clerk was ready to let us in early called his manager and the manager said no… We had driven for 14 hours and we had been awake for 26 hours when we got here. Just want to sleep, other than that we have been enjoying our stay… Love that this is close to Niemergs beat restaurant in town!

Great experience here! Reasonably priced at $89 for king bed, room had 2 TVs with couch and a little bar area. They let me take up 5 parking spaces b/c I had a trailer. Nice indoor pool/hot tub/sauna! Breakfast in the morning was decent — eggs, bacon, B's&G, coffee, juice, 2 cereals, 2 oatmeals, hard boiled eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, English muffins, etc. Highly recommend if staying the night in Effingham. Also it is close to Niemerg's which has great food.

Staff was polite and courteous. Building was very clean and we'll maintained. Pool is open till 12am and the breakfast was quite good for a hotel. All together one of my best experiences in a hotel.

Great rooms! Ours was a double Queen sized bed room. We loved it. The room is very fancy and we'll decorated. The bathroom is very upscale. The a/c and heat is controlled via a wall thermostat unit. Their rates are​ very reasonable. They have a laundry room and pool and have complementary breakfast as well.

The staff is friendly, the location is directly off the highway, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are soft, but not like sinking into sand or being swallowed by an overly fluffy couch. I noticed that there went sounds from other rooms. I did barely hear people walking heavily in the morning above me, but through my stay, I didn't hear anyone talking or televisions through the walls. The one detractor is the size of the bathroom. They could stand to be about one or two feet bigger, so you don't have to completely move in order for the door to close. Otherwise, great place to stay for a good night's sleep.

Location was convenient — right off the highway. The room I stayed in was spacious and very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. A little pricey because of a convention that was in town, but other than that, I have no complaints. Overall an excellent experience.

Nice hotel. Did an upgrade from original plan. Well worth it. The kids loved the pool, hot tub, sauna, workout room and breakfast. Awesome, courteous staff.

All around it was a really nice, clean kept, and overall really nice place. The service was awesome and the room was really nice.

We stumbled on the Lexington by accident. What a pleasant surprise. The hotel is a little over a year old and still had a new aroma. The rooms are large and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

It was a very good experience. We got in late after driving all day and the hostess was super friendly and helpful. There weren't many rooms left but the room was very clean and exactly what we needed. There was a full breakfast in the morning but it was just prepackaged pastries and the eggs weren't very appetizing. The waffles were very good and the biscuits and gravy really hit the spot. Once I got home I realized that I had forgotten my silver necklace in the room. I called immediately and they had found it. They also agreed to mail it to me right away. I was very happy with the stay and would stay there again if I ever get back to the area.

Nice new hotel! Very clean and accommodating. Staff was very friendly. However, no one in previous reviews make mention of the paper thin walls. It is bad! We got noise complaints twice after my 2 year old fell in the slippery tub and hit his head. A noise complaint over a baby crying? Really? I'd give this stay 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that we (and our poor neighbors) were able to hear EVERYTHING above or next us in the room. I give my neighbors, on the other hand all the ZEROS!

Very nice hotel. New clean rooms. Stayed in a king suite. Lots of room, two flat screen TVs, pull out sofa, mini fridge and a microwave. Staff was very friendly.

Stayed here on July 13th 2015 and the place is brand new. Got that new hotel smell with clean everything. Priceline gave me an excellent deal on a room under 100 bucks. Indoor pool is excellent … This place is the gem you should look for if you are in need around Effingham. Simply the best value around at this point.

Ignore my star ratings, They don't apply because as of July 2015, what was once the Lexington on Avenue of Mid-America is under a new management and a new name. A brand new beautiful Lexington Inn on West Fayette Ave is open and is beautifully decorated. My family of 8 and extended family of 10 enjoyed the nice family sized indoor pool and sauna. The Hot tub was still under construction as of July 4th weekend. Our rooms were peaceful and beautiful. Breakfast was filling with plenty of options.

Overall decent. The lobby and staff are nice but everything changes once you get to your room. If I wanted to stay somewhere with ugly wallpaper, dated bathrooms, and a tube TV I would have stayed at my grandma's for free. Bed was good though.

Clean, modern, and comfortable for a great price. The beds were comfortable, good pillows with both hard and soft to choose from (& u could actually tell the difference), all water faucets had good pressure, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was stocked, with both hot and cold food to choose from. Best of all they are pet friendly with a very affordable pet fee. My only complaint was I could hear the highway and occasionally inside hotel sounds, but both of those are to be expected.
