I would give this place 5 stars butt their toilet paper leaves something to be desired.

I would have given it a 10 but you only had 5 stars very clean room. Loved having the kitchen area the bathroom was clean. Only thing I could say was bad and that was you could use new beds. But hubby liked the bed.

Smelled funny but over all clean and great customer service.

Looks ok on the internet. Different story when you arrive. Opened the sheets to find a long black hair in the middle of the bed. I call down to front desk, and she says they will change the sheets tomorrow… really?!?! Terrible service but Whatever I’m tired from working long days so I let it slide. Next two days, not one time does someone come in to straighten the room or change the sheets. I would not recommend staying here. Terrible service and dirty hotel. If I could give it zero stars I would.

This is a great hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The ac was broken in the gym so it made really challenging. Room was clean. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is amazing. The hotel is right off the highway, close to mall, close to lots of restaurants and shops. We will return and recommend.

Sticky floor, dirty carpet, Dish Network didn't work, one of the stove burners wouldn't work and nobody came by to repair it even though I reported it on the morning following our check-in, cobwebs on the ceiling, and the AC makes enough noise to result in a poor night's sleep. Other than that… I suppose it was okay. The sheets seemed clean and there was plenty of hot water for my shower.

The rooms are nice but there isn't a complimentary breakfast…

Asked for a non smoking room, but my room smells like stale cigarette smoke. This is the first Candlewood that I have had this problem and I'm an IHG spire member.

If you have been to a candlewood, this is just like the rest of them. I travel for a living so I appreciate the continuity.

I give 0 stars. Although the people at the front desk try very hard, it seems they have no managerial support. Overcharged my debit card by $700. Charged $1600 to my checking in one day without asking. Charges included nights I haven't stayed yet. During a continuous stay, it almost seems they refuse to give a receipt to use as evidence for reimbursement. The manager refuses to return my phone calls. I wish I could give them negative 1 star.

We stayed here for my father's funeral. The staff was the most accommodating and attentive. They were aware of the reason for our stay. They called me the morning of our arrival to let us know they prepared our rooms in advance for us to arrive early. Rooms were perfect. I went back to the cemetery some months later and stayed there again. I did not call ahead for a reservation. The staff remembered me by face. I have never had such good experience with hotel staff. Thank you! You have no idea how much it meant to me and my family during the most difficult time of our lives. I will stay here again… and again.

I would have given a zero if I could. I have to say that I have never stayed at a property this bad or been treated in such a manner. Especially at a property that represents the Intercontinental Hotel Group. Ihg needs to strip their branding & make this a motel. The first room I checked into was dirty with very visible stains on the floor, tousled beds & dead bugs! I checked in @3am & was in no mood for this. In addition you cannot close the curtains & the street lights shine in your face. I wanted to shower & go to bed but immediately became skeptical of the entire property. I went to the front desk & the night attendant was gracious, apologized & promptly reassigned my room and accompanied me to inspect it & ensure it was up to par. This bed was also poorly made but clean, no carpet stains but the couch appeared aged & dingy. No issue because I had no plans to sit on it. At check-out the following morning the morning attendant that assisted me was also very pleasant & asked if I wanted a receipt to which I replied yes. While she was printing the receipt I asked if either was a manager because I wanted to make them aware of the previous night's experience. The gentleman promptly spoke up & advised he was management. I proceeded to tell him of the events & he stated those were not bugs but lint. I advised I had zoomed in pics & they were bugs, also offered to show him the pics & he started yelling at me telling me that I needed to leave the property.

Moldy shower, dirty sink, hair everywhere in the bathroom, debris on the carpet between the bed and wall (probably because a vacuum doesn't fit there). Both beds had dried crusty food stuck to the sheets within the made bed. It was bad; we won't be back.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was four pillows per person and they gave two additional towels per person as well. The staff was friendly and helpful, they made our stay enjoyable.

It is what it is. One particular issue that I am completely fed up with is getting the annoying message to sign in to IHG Wi-Fi to have my phone work. I simply want my phone to work like normal like it does before I walk into their building!

Room was mostly clean and in order. Coffee machine in room looked greasy and was left full of water from the previous Tennant. Coke zero in pantry had expired 6mi ago. Bed was comfortable. Location is great. TV is good.

The baseboards in the room were never cleaned, and our room smelled of mildew. Wasn't too bad once your nose adjusted to it though. Staff was nice and friendly which is always a plus.

Here on reservations made by a friend of the family. Fairly nice hotel, but one issue. Our air conditioning unit has mildewed. Aside from that, not bad.

This is a nice place to stay. I love the kitchenette in the rooms and the gazebo with gas grills. It is a good place for socializing with other guests. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Not a bad place to stay for an extended time.

The billing was a mess. They didn't get the reservation correct. There was never a confirmation email sent out. There was a group of us and we all had the same situation. It's okay because everything worked out in the end. The rooms are very nice, good climate control. Would return.

Quiet, comfortable with clean rooms and great staff. Only 4 stars as the price is a little high for the accommodation. Should have a lower rate for long term guests as this is what this type of hotel is designed for. No other issues. Once again, great staff.

I recently stayed at the Candlewood in Merrillville, IN. Sadly, I was traveling for my father's funeral. They knew this (as I was probably crying when I made the reservation), they actually called me while I was on my way driving out of state to find out my estimated time of arrival. They wanted to make sure my room was available and ready prior to my arrival. The manager and staff were so kind and considerate. Even one of the cleaning ladies gave her condolences as I was getting onto the elevator one day. Thank you for all of your efforts to make my stay enjoyable given the circumstances. I also need to point out that they gave me a free upgrade to a full suite since the hotel was sold out due to outside events in the area. The rooms were very clean, well kept, and very well up-to-date. If given the opportunity, I will most certainly stay here again and will refer friends and family to you. Thank you again!

Always had good service at this hotel. Use it frequently for work. This time however, I checked in, and they had no rooms available, other than a suite. But being a platinum elite member, they even still couldn't upgrade me got free. Disappointed overall with my most recent stay.

Great experience, rooms very comfortable and clean with granite kitchenette and full fridge and dishwasher, free washing and drying, but bring your detergent; ability to borrow board games and playing cards. Much lower prices than the other surrounding hotels. If you don't need the pool, breakfast and a daily maid service, its a great value. Its located around thousands of restaurants and stores. With Walmart only 5 minutes away, we were able to buy food for the fridge and didn't miss the free breakfast feel at all. I felt like I was at home.

Stayed here for a week while working in the area. Was very happy with the room and service. Everything is clean and love the kitchenette. Enjoyed the stay.

No pool! Huge downfall. No complimentary breakfast! The price of the room was $130 and was not worth it considering the hotel had nothing. The customer service was not the best during the 24 hour stay. They were not very accommodating at all. Especially when we needed extra blankets for a roll away bed that we paid $15 for. Basically, we never got our blankets. Hotel was.
