The Coachman Inn is the best place to stay in Carmel, Ca.

Cute place within walking distance of downtown. Very limited parking. Nice morning Continental breakfast and happy hour. Rooms are basic and good hospitality. Only down side for us was housekeeping. We used the plastic glasses and they were not replaced, and no creamer for in room coffee.

My daughters & myself, had a great time. A beautiful place, comfortable beds, Lovely room, Great reception. Thank you for the hospitality you believe, & serve for life.

Very nice place, office staff great. Parking limited. Location great, easy access to all resteraunts and shops. Easy walking to the beach. The breakfast is well done, nice touch not your basic free one. Sat night had a drunk noisy neighbors. Clean nice rooms. We will be back. Thank you.

This may appear to be a low ranking, yet there is a lot I loved about Coachman’s Inn. I’ll start with what I loved: — Location. This is an amazing location in Carmel. You can’t beat it. — Service. Very friendly staff that helped us have a great time. — Value. We really got a lot for our dollar. Here are the reasons I scored this Inn low: — In Carmel, this is budget motel. In Phoenix, this would be an above average hotel. I was expecting more from an Inn in Carmel. — The building is due for an update in furniture, flouring and technology. Overall, this is a great value motel for a last minute trip to Carmel.

Really liked this place a lot! The amenities offered (breakfast, cookies, happy hour) are ones I actually use. I was a little worried with the doors to the outside (motel style) with the outside 30 yr old carpet leading up to the room, but once inside the room everything was great. The carpet in the room was actually some of the nicest I've experienced (I know, a weird thing to say, but true). The parking is a little tricky (24 spots, 30 rooms), but is probably only a hassle on the busiest days in the summer. Water pressure wasn't great, but fine for a couple nights. If I'm staying in Carmel again, I would check back here first.

Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn't particularly special. Took me a good 10 mins to work out how the shower worked. Nice location, only a 10min walk down to the beach.

Lovely charming hotel! Very friendly staff!

Fairly priced for a place to stay right in the heart of Carmel. Offered free wines, array of hors d'oeuvres and snacks and drinks for guests. Rates includes breakfast which is a plus. Strategically located, walk distance from the nice shops and just about minutes away from all the restaurants too. Room was adequate in size, clean and service was good. The downside is the limited parking and I noticed that when I was trying to plug my phone charger, the power outlets are loose and doesn’t hold it very well. Overall, I’ll give it 4.5 Stars.

I will start off by saying we have decided we are not B&B or small boutique Hotel people. We normally stay at Westin Hotels and similar hotels. So that being said the Hotel was quaint and nice rooms with most of the staff very friendly. The location couldn’t have been better for our first time in Carmel by the Sea. The Inn consists of 3 floors like a remodeled Motel with doors facing out. We were on the 3 rd floor with no elevators. We are on a long road trip and have a far amount of luggage. Since I have hip and knee replacements I was no help to my husband as he made 3 trips up and down the stairs. We should have requested the 1 st floor, but had no idea there wouldn’t be an elevator. When we got to our room and it was lovely we noticed the front windows were open and so was the bathroom window. We soon found out they were open because the room turned so hot by evening. They did have some oscillating fans in the closet that we used. I noticed in the early evening most everyone had windows and some front doors open to cool the rooms down. Considering it was in the 50’s and 60’s and raining. I can not imagine how hot the rooms get during the summer. The afternoon appetizers served were fine and the wine pretty bad and had nice conversations with other guests. We never made it to the breakfast because we liked going into town for lattes and breakfast. All in all it was a nice experience that we will not be repeating.

Great place, great price and well located.

Receptionist are always pleasant and helpful, they offer on site parking and allow dogs to stay as long as you don't leave them unattended in your room which is how it should be.

Rooms are dainty, heating is only done via fireplace, breakfasts and cookies are too burnt to get excited about. Then they had construction arrive and do work on my room at 8am. This place is loud and far from relaxing.

I was utterly charmed by the whole team, every person I talked to on staff bent over backwards to make me feel awesome and cared for. The inn fits pretty well into the flow of the touristy part of town, tho was smaller on the inside than we were expecting. We were able to bring our pooch along, which was a great stress reduction for all of us. The front desk has treats for human and canine guests alike. (Side note: the ground around town switches from smooth to rough, like broken glass, pretty often, so if you plan to bring Fido along, investing in some rubber boots would go a long way to keeping your pupers paws pampered. ) Over all: location, staff, accomodativeness, and cleanliness are 5 star. The only reason my Google score doesn't match up is because I had hoped for more space in a King suit with a tub.

Quaint place. Rooms are well appointed and a nice fire place in the room. Staff are friendly and breakfast and wine hour are a nice free touch.

Great location. Beautiful setup. Friendly service and excellent breakfast. The bathroom was beautiful. The room smelled funny and the spa area was dark and looked out of order.

Wonderful* experience! They even had wine and snacks for us when we arrived (delicious! ). The room was cozy and so comfortable. Highly recommended!

Beautiful little inn super close to everything in Carmel By The Sea. Soft bed. The room was really clean and had a charming aesthetic. Amenities: Keurig coffee maker, tv, fridge and microwave, hot tub, workout machines, and sauna. Heater and fan provided: no AC (not usually needed, and we didn't miss it). Tasty breakfasts, cookies, and wine/horderves.

Great stay… really nice people… great little wine/cheese "happy hour" and breakfast offerings. Nice room.

Very convenient to downtown Carmel. Clean, nicely decorated, smallish rooms. Afternoon wine and cheese. Nicely done breakfast. No elevator to the upper floors and somewhat limited parking. Excellent and​ friendly staff.

If I am lucky enough to visit Carmel again someday, the Coachman's Inn will be where I stay. It was impeccably clean and the manager was welcoming and helpful. Our room was so comfortable and we even used the fireplace for a bit at night. Location is perfect and the hotel is positively charming.

For years this has been our favorite place to stay in Carmel. They have grown over the years but the homey, personal touch is still there.

Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable with big fluffy pillows and a warm down comforter! Plenty of hot water! There is a quaint hot tub and gym area with steam room. The hotel staff were so friendly! The hostess had cookies made early for my daughters before we checked out! There was a lot of street noise early in the morning that made it hard to sleep in. Not at all the hotels fault though. Will definitely be back!

We arrived during Valentine's day this year and prices were skyrocketting. We tried 3 different hotels in the Camel (from 190$/night to 300$/night. This was the cheapest and by far the best. Cosy war room. Good amenities. Breakfast was simple but nice and delicious. You have hand made cookies waiting for you at the reception. Got an issue with the heater I couldn't switch off and it was solved in less than a minute by the personel. Will go back.

Delicious breakfast plus wine and cheese in the evening. Parking is limited though, we had to park a few blocks away. Super easy access to downtown Carmel, and walking distance to the beach.

Very cute inn in a very cute town. Staff were friendly and accommodating; the included breakfast was bountiful, in the afternoons cookies & a warm snack were provided for guests. The room itself was spacious and comfortable.

Cozy, friendly, great location!

Had a romantic getaway with my wife here in one of their rooms with a king bed, fireplace and nice jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The staff treated us EXTREMELY well and loved the location right in downtown Carmel.

Loved it! Super nice sheets, silky, might even be the same ones I use at home. They let me bring my little dog and the nice person in the front even had a little bone to give her. Great location, can walk everywhere. They had a big parking lot, which is hard to find in Carmel. Would stay there again for sure.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, relaxing all of the luxury of a 5 str hotel. Close to shopping, and the sea.

Family owned, freindly and professional service, locates in center of Carmel, walking to numerous shopping stores and restaurants. Daily morning light breakfast delivered to your room at your choice. Home made cookies after 5:00pm. Super clean room. Spotless and odorless bathroom. $140 for two queen beds with fire place in May is a great value, AAA rated.
