Food service was great Idea considering Covid. Food was good!

Stayed for the weekend, had to have my key reset 5 times. We requested double queen room and were given double full size and not told that they did not queen beds. We were also not told that the room would not be cleaned everyday due to COVID. The staff that I worked with was friendly and tried to help.

Housekeeping knocked on the door before our check out time telling us we had to leave I was confused, but we left only to found out we didn’t have to leave until 12pm I was super mad about that later on I seen I was changed $250 for smoking BUT NEVER SMOKED in the room I don’t even smoke called the hotel on a Monday and it’s Wednesday still haven’t heard back from the hotel manager and it’s b4 Christmas I’m hurt and confused by how this how situation is being handle! Manager said he would call me back, but never did I would never still at this hotel again! We go to gurnee mills a lot, but never have we stayed at this hotel…

A very nice worker was pleasant to talk to, very friendly and courteous!

The hotel was very clean and Accommodating. Free shuttles to and from the park, the room was beyond comfortable but what really set this place apart is the staff. The front end manager Sarah went out of her way to make sure our stay for my girlfriend‘s birthday was perfect in every way. Definitely will be returning worth every cent. Six out of five stars!

Room was ok, my wife and I didn't sleep well due to uncomfortable beds. We got vouchers for the breakfast, and we didn't like it at all. We thought everything looked dirty. We found spider webs with dead captured bugs in the corner of the windows. We watched the staff reuse the leftover apple juice from other tables to refill the small, open topped, table pitchures. We will not eat at this location again.

Great little getaway. Close to Gurnee Mills and Six Flags. The kids love it. Great pool and very friendly staff.

We stayed here last year and had no problems. This year was a different story. Our room was disgustingly dirty. The most concerning area was the black mold that was covering the shower ceiling (non-working bathroom fan probable culprit). In addition, there was a glob of toothpaste on the wall from a previous guest in a very visible area that shouldn't have been missed by housekeeping. There was also hair from a previous guest on different spots of the toilet. It made me wonder how dirty other areas of the room were if these obvious places were not thoroughly cleaned. The shuttle van was also super dirty. The pool area was spacious and clean.

The staff was very attentive. Assisting with the audio-visual when needed. Making sure the room temperature was okay. Both our morning meal and the lunch that was provided was very good. My only complaint was for the salad there was only one dressing supplied and it was extremely spicy. Multiple outlets were supplied at each table, so people could plug their laptops in and access to the Wi-Fi was very easy. The audio was very good. Was able to hear our speaker from the back of the room without any difficulty.

This location was perfect for us because we were spending the day at Six Flags. We arrived well ahead of normal check-in, because we were planning to be at Six Flags at their opening (10am) so I was pleased when we were able to get into our room at 9:15am! The early check-in also allowed us to take the free shuttle to Six Flags. The room was spacious and well cleaned. Breakfast was not complimentary, but was very good with a nice selection. I would definitely stay at this location again.

I was treated with respect! Very clean rooms. Breakfast was great and filling too. My son had a blast in the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel!

For the price, it should be much better. Paid $200+ for a one night stay in a basic room. Breakfast buffet was terrible, and the service at it was even worse. Hard pancakes, cold potatoes, lipstick on the juice glasses, and rude wait staff that just walked around like they didn’t know what they were doing and fighting with each other. Check out time isn’t until noon, but we had housekeeping knocking at our door at 8:30! Pool area is not clean. Called front desk to share my concerns and he couldn’t have cared less.

Beautiful, comfy, affordable, all the necessary amenities, very clean, spacious, staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. It was in the perfect location next to stores, good food options, and the boot camp graduation base. I loved it.

Check-in went smoothly. The rooms were very nice and clean. The restaurant inside had decently priced food that was pretty good.

The hotel was quaint, cozy and and the staff was so friendly. The breakfast was tasty and had enough options in my opinion. I will stay here again.

The room we had was small. The two beds were not queen size. We requested a cot but we were told we not allowed to put a cot out room because it would be a hazard. It was a decent place to stay overall.

The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was fresh and on point. Plenty of options for the healthy and not so healthy diets. The property was clean and the hallways and rooms smelled fresh.

I stayed here during a business trip. After a hotel I was recently at in Florida, this hotel was pretty much perfect. Everyone in my group agreed that the beds and pillows were perfect. I honestly wish I had tried to figure out what mattress brand they're using, because I fell asleep almost instantly. The room was immaculate, and the bathroom was spotless. I also appreciated that I could adjust the AC from the wall, and the room actually got cold. The rest of the hotel is fairly nice. They have a full service bar, and the bartender made excellent drinks. Breakfast was also better than I expected. I would stay here again.

The hot water boiler broke and they didn't bother to put a note on the door to inform you. When I called the desk to find out why no hot water it took 4 calls to reach someone and then to top it all I had to walk to the front desk to get a key to another room to take a shower. The front desk had one person handling all the guest and there was a 15 person line waiting to check out or get a key to another room so they could get a shower. Never got a call from the manager or a discount for the inconveniences. Would never recommend this hotel. Poor customer service and poor staff.

The room was ok. Smelled like pot for the first day. I went to get a pop and a bag of chips from the "store" in the lobby on the second day, they cost me $6! That's the price I pay for convenience. The front desk fella told me after I paid and opened my pop that there were cheaper vending machines around the corner. What a scam. I'm going back to the Hampton.

Comfy room. Good breakfast! Battery was dead when I went to leave though but I'm sure that wasn't the hotels fault. And the maintenance guy Ryan helped jump my car. Two thumbs up☺

Good luck with this one. Staff is very accommodating, but the facility needs attention. Check your bed linen!

What a great job the staff did today at the WINGS breakfast meeting. They were fantastic at setting it up and providing a wonderful breakfast. They may be a little know secret.

Great location across the street from shopping and several restaurants. The room was clean and nice. They have a pool and hot tub also. The breakfast they served in the morning was delicious also. My wife and I stayed there once before and we'll stay again if we're ever back in the area.

A safe and warm place to rest for road weiry travelers. Nothing better. Friendly and helpful folks staffed the hotel all weekend. Indoor pool and hot tub a bonus in frigid weather. Respect to the former Marine who bought a new Squid a sweet tea at the bar!

The room was immaculately clean, nicely appointed. Keurig coffee maker for the win! I was officiating a wedding in the banquet hall as well as staying as a guest. The staff were amazingly helpful, professional and friendly.

Went there for a company party. It was nice. I would definitely make sure that I went back for another.

Surprisingly a great, somewhat luxurious hotel. Holiday Inn isn't known for having great bars, rooms, and food. Happily surprised. I highly recommend.

Visiting family for the holidays and needed a wheelchair accessible room with a roll in shower. Great location and decent breakfast buffet, but could have had a better selection considering the price ($15.99). As for the room itself, very spacious and room to move around. Beds weren't too high but short (full size and not queen). Bathroom had grab bars by the toilet and in the shower, but the water controls in the shower were too far away from the built-in shower seat. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Free parking and close to shops and restaurants and the highway.

The employees were great. That is all that is good about this place. The rooms are out dated. Looks more like a $10.00 motel than the overly priced amount that was charged. No fridge in the room. The walls are so paper thin that I could here clear conversations and what was being done in the bathroom. This entire place needs to be shut down and renovated with rooms looking outside and not into the lobby. Worst experience I've had.

Had problem with my room, desk and housekeeper moved me to a suite @ no extra charge, cheerfully! I am so impressed. Shuttle service to + from convention is safe, comfortable and delightful drivers BREAKFAST AND STAFF, GREAT! I Have a service dog SO RECEPTIVE and accommodating. Leaving tomorrow. Great experience.

Room was very nice and clean. The staff have been exceptionally helpful. Breakfast is great. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: room was ready early, clean room, stayed cool in room. Cons: hallways were like saunas for some reason, wasn't thrilled to see the price was about $50 cheaper if we hadn't booked with a wedding party. Didn't use breakfast vouchers that came with wedding block, there was a team of some kind eating when I went down to check it out.

Comfortable place and kid friendly. Had a average experience. There is no refrigerator or microwave in room so their kid friendly claim is false as if you cannot store or make anything for your infant. First day of the stay electrical outlet for coffee broke down in both rooms we had booked. Took 2 calls and a service desk visit for them to repair it. Coffee machine in the room works only with hotel cups/glasses and room સેરવી ए forgot to replace them and when called the front desk they said they will send a new one as we did not figure it out that it is the type of glass with which it works and they also did not have any idea or suggestion. Also they did not send a new one as they had said. Overall an average experience, comfortable bed and close location for shopping.

The staff here are the absolute best! I have traveled all over the world and rarely leave reviews. I felt I had to leave a review for this place. Our bartender even sent us a thank you basket! That has never happened to me before… Joe rocks!

Go to either sight theirs or another you will get a good deal if you travel a lot do theirs you can get food voucher. Enjoy my 3 day stay needed a microwave. My room was clean and comfortable.

It's a nice hotel… But I would think they would have a fridge or microwave in the rooms. I know cheaper hotels that provide those. The hotels on military bases provide all that plus a big walk in closet and free water bottles and Landry — — — and just as nice. Not bad tough.

The unit for the A/C barely blew out any air so it was warm in our room. We actually had to have a fan brought up just to try to cool the room off. The breakfast was horrible. The pancakes were hard as a rock on the edges. The eggs were soggy. Housekeeping only came in one day out of the four nights that we stayed. Dead mosquitos on the bathroom wall. The beds were hard. When I made the reservations I was informed it was a double bed suite. Well I was told that I had to rent a fridge.

Well appointed conference center. Great food. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy access from the freeway and airport. Quiet and comfortable. Lots of private nooks to connect with other guests.

We had our family reunion group staying and only after we were checking in we learned that they did not put our rooms together like we were told when we made the reservations. Therefore we were scattered throughout the hotel. Then we were told prior to us getting there that we would be able to take the shuttle bus to six flags and back to the hotel any time through the day. Then we were told that the bus makes its last drop off to the theme park at 12:30. This was not what everyone wanted to do. Some people wanted to do other things before heading to six flags. The house keeping was just ok. I dropped something on the floor and had to get down and looked under the bed and there was a cake container under the bed. Clearly it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned. Other than that our stay was good. But o can't help but feel like they will tell you anything to get you out there and once you're there you find out the truth in the matter.

Came here for my daughters 12th Birthday. We stayed in a suite and a conjoined room for 1 night, room was okay — Around 9:30 we get a knock at the door that there were complaints that the girls were too loud, I apologized and got them settled down… meanwhile the room above us was having a party till 2am, slamming doors etc. I had decorated the room with balloons and birthday signs but brought a large black trash bag to clean up in the morning before check out (I even popped all the balloons) I closed the sofa bed up. The only thing left for the maid was the wet towels on the bathroom floor. I check my credit card bill and see 2 $50 charges, I call and they let me know it was for an extra cleaning fee… ummm really? First of all the only thing that was in the King room was individual size pizza boxes in the garbage can and wet towels in the bathroom? The suite may have had some confetti on the floor but I had cleaned up as much as I could see, and isn't vacuuming normal when you clean a room? Apparently I need to call back when a housekeeper is in and discuss with them why I was charged because nobody else can handle this situation besides them. No thanks I'll just dispute my charges with the credit card and won't be staying there again!

Our room is small, TV has lines thru the picture and makes watching TV irritating, plaster coming off the bathroom walls they painted over to keep it from falling off, little spot of mold around the seal if the tub, room is updated ok, we booked the room a month in advance and they tried to over charge us when we checked in, went down for breakfast and food was gross and every table in the place was dirty, my wife and I and kids had to stand with plates in hand for 5 mintues until they cleaned a table for us, they did let us check in early, but could have spent more time cleaning and getting the room ready, wont be staying at this hotel again.

Rediculous. For $175 I could've gotten a better room at a nicer hotel for a double room! Very mediocre service. Breakfast staff seemed like they were all bothered to even be there. Made breakfast very unwelcoming. No fridge, no microwave, bathroom had slight mold, coffee
machine made my coffee taste like bleach, garbage under beds, hair dryer overheated after 5 mins and stopped working, no food vending machines on every floor, and beverage vending machines had no selection because almost everything was sold out (and I went to three floors to try! ). We ate breakfast on their patio and all the tables were very dirty and had beer and wine glasses and cigars and cigarettes on the tables from the night before! It was 9am when we ate breakfast and it started at 6. There's no excuse for the dirty mess. It made breakfast unappetizing and the hotel seem very unappealing. There was a couple fighting and teenager screaming and the cops were called. It took 20 minutes finally someone that worked there to tell them to stop! What a mess! Will not recommend or ever be back! My family and I are season pass holders to Six Flags and go atleast once a month. Thought this would be a great hotel to stay at every time with our kids but I was wrong! My family and I were extremely disappointed!

Nice looking hotel. Free Wi-Fi but no free breakfast. Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. Walking to Six Flags would require walking through an interstate onramps, so I wouldnt recommend that. However, it is a very short drive.

Nice Inn with good ambient, swimming pool, gym. The morning breakfast is complementary & tastes so good. You have Gurnee Mills Mall opposite to the hotel, which is a good place to spend some time. Rooms are so clean & good.

We had our sports night there. Everything went well until the food came out. The chicken was extremely dry and very small. Then the desert was also very dry. It was cheese cake but it tasted like it was kept cold with dry ice.

The Holiday Inn is a great place to have a social event they will make sure you are happy with everything. If its a professional event they will make sure everthing is on time and running smoothly.

Held an event at the convention center recently. Was a bit concerned due to some staff turnover but the actual event was a total success. The lunch included chef stations and was fabulous. Rave reviews about the food. Very happy overall.

Rooms were decent size, lots of pillows. No fridge or microwave in room however. No intercontinental breakfast either. Overall, I would stay again though. Wife enjoyed the hot tub.

Overall a pleasant experience, hotel is within minutes of shopping, dining and entertainment. Rooms were clean and efficient. Request for towels took longer than expected, but staff is friendly and courteous.

For the first time in my life, I accidentally left something of value in my hotel room before checking out. VERY dishonest staff. You'd like to think in a few short hours after checking out, you could easily retrieve an item left behind. Not the case. If you leave something at this hotel, you will never see it again. Really disappointing. I also emailed about the situation and never even got the courtesy of a reply.

My stay has been great, it's one of the best hotels I've stayed at.

Friend is having wedding there later this year. Place is gorgeous, and they're very accommodating. Enjoyed the sneak peak — plan on enjoying the stay.

I went to the Spice Lounge bar located at the Holiday Inn Gurnee for drinks and to catch the NFL playoffs. It is a great atmosphere and the specials were amazing! Jon, the bartender does a great job taking care of everyone and knows any drink possible! Highly recommended!

I checked in after midnight, maybe 1am, and the guy on the phone (we called to check availability) was quite short with me. There's a way of being efficient without making someone feel rushed. When we got there I asked if there was someone to park the car and he made me feel like an idiot with this look on his face like, "Um no. Where do you think you are? " The beds and pillows were amazing! I woke up well rested. I stayed at a hotel the week before and paid much more. Twice more, and the bed was rock hard. The front desk receptionist we encountered upon check out was very friendly. So I really appreciated that. The housekeeping manager was awesome! Steak and Shake was right across the street and we were soooo thankful they were open because we were starving. Despite the first receptionist we encountered and the fact that someone slipped the wrong ill under our door, all in all it was lovely.

I stayed there a little over a month ago, I don't remember my room number but I was on the second floor. I was there with my daughters cheerleading team for their state final competition. They was me one other adults two kids total. We did enjoy our time until somebody threw up in the pool, it kind of ruined the rest of the night and the staff were very unpleasant when that happens. The child was with another party which we didn't know and it really made the full disgusting. The staff refuse to clean it as one of us to help and of course we didn't because it wasn't one of us who whose child threw up. Left a bad taste my mouth I probably won't stay there again.

Place was decent. We went there to attend a party and it was nicely decorated. Service was on par. We will recommend people for this place.

Went for one day conference. I didn't stay the night since I live close by. The conference rooms were nice and food served during the day was pretty good.

AWFUL We checked in late. The lobby and adjacent restaurant (closed) were dirty, unkempt. Mosquitoes flew everywhere. Walking to the elevator, I noticed the carpets were dirty and dusty. As my daughter (a business traveler) swatted a mosquito, her phone slipped from her hand and fell down the elevator shaft. Management said nothing could be done until morning. We requested a wake up call (our personal alarm was in the elevator shaft). The call came 28 minutes late. At breakfast, a server placed curdled cream in my coffee. Note I did not request cream. This cream had been sitting out since the night before! It is now after noon. The phone remains in the elevator shaft. The manager said it costs $400 for the elevator technician to come out. We would have to pay something. I said if the place had been clean and mosquito free the phone would not have been dropped. No resolution yet. By the way, the whirlpool was also dirty when I looked it over this morning. I will not use this pool!

Amazing just needs a free breakfast and better placed elevators.

Was great until the last night. Lobby restroom flooded on my shoes. House keeping was banging on my door at 10 a. M. Checkout is 12.

This place was awesome! Everyone was so helpful and friendly, and they even helped me get a bag back that I left there. It was very clean and quiet, would recommend this to anyone.

If you plan on staying at this hotel for a night, fine, but do NOT even think about having a wedding here. We had met with the wedding planner Ingrid Neathery ahead of time and picked our our food and beverages, etc, but apparently once we paid for the wedding Ingrid, the GM Steve Mculley, and Ingrid's assistant Jeff, could have cared less about went on. ALL of the wines at the table were wrong. Half of the tables were missing waters. The hors d'oeuvres were served completely impropery (one small plate of about 15 food pieces every 20 minutes for some 50 people). We ordered asparagus soup as the soup to be served and the waiters kept telling everyone that it was broccoli soup. Ingrid was not at the wedding (she didn't tell us until 3 days before hand that she would not be there and Jeff would be, whom we had not met with ahead of time except for three days before). When my mom brought all the mishaps to Jeff's attention he responded with, "I could car less. " I told the GM this and he got angry with me for asking what happened when he asked Jeff about his behavior. In the end Steve promised a refund check although he blamed the mishap on us. This check was promised almost 2 months ago and we have yet to see a penny of it. I have contacted the Executive Sales Director of the Holiday Inn as well, Daniel Dboval and have also not heard from here. This place was a COMPLETE joke. DO NOT even consider having a wedding here as you will truly regret it.

Great hotel unless you need customer service. Hotel was clean and fairly nice with the exception of paper thin walls and poor customer relations. Within hours of checking out I realized I had left my Kindle in the nightstand drawer. I called the hotel immediately and was told that the lost and found was closed for the day. I called back 3 more times in the next 2 days and am still getting the runaround that the head housekeeper is the only one with access to the lost and found and she is off for a few days. Seriously? The hotel manager cannot access this area? I asked for the hotel manager and was told the same thing! It has been 3 days and I still do not know if they found my Kindle. I just want to find out if they have it or not before I resort to reporting it lost or stolen with Amazon so they can deactivate the unit. Sounds shady to me.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Gurnee was wonderful. The first impression as you walk in is the beautiful and modern décor. The staff was very professional and extremely friendly. The room was very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The restaurant in the hotel called Spice had excellent food and our kids ate free. The atmosphere in the restaurant/lounge area was very modern and a great place to eat and/or have drinks. The pool/hot tub area was very big and open, and very clean. This hotel gets an A and we are definitely staying there again. I would recommend this hotel if you are going to Gurnee Mills for shopping or to Six Flags. It's right by both and very easy to get to and from. Normally on vacations we don't spend much time in the hotel, but here we couldn't wait to get back to enjoy it. The only thing I could suggest would be to have a mini fridge put in the rooms, and the breakfast was a little overpriced but it was very good.

Our family came and stayed here for our sons graduation at Boot camp. This hotel is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Clean rooms. Quiet hotel. Friendly staff. The staff here is always waiting to help you with anything you need. Very friendly, informative, and eager to help. The hotel restaurant has good food too! The location was perfect for getting to and from the base. And alot of things to do with our Sailor very close to the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone coming into the area.
