The hotel was clean and recently updated. The staff was professional and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. Overall my family enjoyed our stay.

Terrible experience! Made a reservation online for a joining room. Check is was at 3pm when I arrived and I was able to cancle my reservation by 6pm with no penalty. Made it to the front desk and checked in, when I made it to my rooms they were not joining. Went downstairs to ask why and was told they do not habe joining rooms. Not a problem I asked for a refund and was going down the a street. I was refused a refund after 1 minite walking into my room because I reserved it… Even though I was lied to about my rooms. No managers working on site so I was refused the right to even talk to somebody that could help. I was refused a receipt upon "checking" out because I wasnt aloud to check out until the next day! Terrible service, no condolences… It was all my fault for not checking my room before I made my reservation! So now I am out $200! Best 1 minute stay ever!

In town for son's graduation from Basic training. Great location and pricing! Hotel staff were nice and professional.

I am giving 2 stars to the housekeeping just because my sheets had dry blood stains. Their cleanind standars should be higher and at least they should be met. I also notice blood stains on the ceiling by the elevator on the 4th floor. To the front desk staff I give 4 stars, they were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast bar was always clean and properly stacked so for that. >

Stay at Laquinta everytime we stay in Chicago/Gurnee area. Great location, employees and places close by for all our needs.

Very nice hotel. Exactly what I expect from a LaQuinta. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Also very understanding as I was taking a very long time to get outta my room at check out time. They were real nice about it and checked me out with a smile when I was FINALLY ready to check out. Great waffles… only thing I didn't like about breakfast, there was no other hot food like eggs bacon or sausage only the waffles. But otherwise very good breakfast with all the other standards like toast, muffins, bagels, cereal, milk and yogurt. Great experience!

This place is Nice I don't know much about it believe me it new to me sometimes I had finger it out I really enjoyed myself there okay not that kind enjoy moment if you got dirty mind I mean it was fun and enjoy the ladies next door Hooters could I stay again of course I will it my getaway weekend.

The only thing I can say is the staff was nice! Don’t stay there … needs a upgrade in the worse way. Will not stay there again.

The staff is soo nice! Even though the pool needed a filter change and they probably had to repeat themselves a lot about the issue they had great positive feedback about the pool status. I'll be going back again!

Go to place in the Gurnee area. Inexpensive, pool, free breakfast, and free Wi-Fi. Plus the minimum check-in age is only 18. So it's a nice place to go to if you ever need to get away from base on the weekend. Trust me. I was on base for a year haha.

Everything you can think of was great here at the hotel. From the cleanliness of the room to the service of the front desk.

Nice place to stay, friendly front desk staff. Like most La Quintas, pet friendly and no added pet charge (has made la quintas always my first choice). First room we were given had some issues with the heater not working, but a quick visit to the front desk moved us to another room which had perfectly working heat!

Wonderful service. Everyone is so friendly. Room was so clean! Very comfortable. Breakfast was really good also. I will return every time I'm in town.

Nice place to stay for the price. Although our room number was drawn on the wall without a placard. No complaints. Great housekeeping staff.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. The breakfast is adequate. There are 3 waffle machines to avoid back-ups. They also offer yogurt, coffee, orange juice, cold cereal, and various breakfast breads. The pool is nice. They also have a hot tub. Plenty of towels and the area is kept clean. They didn't offer a lot of TV channels, but I guess that's ok.

Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Employees were polite and helpful, after check in gave us a courtesy call to see if we were happy with the room and if there was anything they could further help us with since the night before we had a not so good hotel. Wanted to mske sure we were pleased with everything if not to let them know. Only small thing was not much control over the kids in the pool and the parents letting them do things that were not allowed, but that's not on the hotel but the parents not controlling their kids.

The staff was great. I made a slight error when initially booking my room and called them very late at night to fix it and they were very friendly, helpful, and quick during the process. The room was also good. In general it was clean and comfortable, although I had a few minor problems with it. The bathroom was pretty worn out, the window had no thick curtain to draw at night which made it a little difficult to fall asleep with all of the light from the road pouring in, and the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Overall, a very good and convenient hotel for getting to all the attractions in and around Gurnee.

Nothing to complain about really. There was some sort of funky smell at least on the fourth floor but it was only in the hallway and was not that bad. Breakfast was great and very clean. The bathrooms were also very clean. Another downside is that there is no outlet by the beds which is very inconvenient. The only outlets were in the side if the desk and behind the tv. Overall a good experience though.

Easy on and off the highway. Walking distance to Six Flags and less than 1 mile to Gurnee Mills. Clean warm indoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are spacious. Cosmetically it could use a refresh but it was comfortable.

I stayed there with my family for a vacation for one week, the place was great, TV channels were just like mines at home, great pool, and yummy breakfasts! I totally recommend this for a vacation hotel! Close to Six Flags and Olive garden, where we spent the time there.

The room was clean and the hot tub was great and relaxing. The only issue was the bathroom flooded because the shower current did absolutely nothing. Cleaned it up with some towels and the problem was solved.

Everything was great! There was a fridge and a microwave. The bed was comfy, but the elevator was broken.

Clean room at a reasonable price near six flags and Gurnee Mills. Many restaurant choices nearby.

I had forgot my brand new short and called them the next day. They denied seeing any of them. I felt that someone stole them or and they purposefully did not give them back to me. Be careful, if you forget something, you may not get it back. Air circulation was very bad, I felt breathless in the night. And did not have a proper sleep. AC was bad. Overall not a good experience.

La Quinta Gurnee gave us a great stay! We visited for dog shows, and checked rates on this hotel, knowing the chain usually offers dog-friendly accommodations. This one was no exception, and was VERY affordable! The room was spotless, bed comfortable, and staff friendly. Water pressure and temperature in the shower were excellent, and the mini fridge and microwave are wonderful additions. There are many power outlets and a couple of data ports on the desk, so if you need to do work, it's easy. Wi-Fi worked well, too. Breakfast is meh, just the standard waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels, and bread to toast. The coffee was… not good. But, if one is willing to pay a bit more, a phenomenal breakfast can be had at either Cracker Barrel or IHOP, both next door. The location is great, even if we are not in town for shopping or the theme park, as there are many great restaurants in the area. Our room had lots of space, so we could set up a large crate for our dog, too. My only complaint is not a reflection of the hotel, rather a commentary on its guests: please, PLEASE clean up after your pets! It's people that don't that ruin it for those that do! I saw so many instances where people did not clean up, and I was appalled! No one wants to step in that, and hotels are very Lily to stop being pet friendly if this sort of thing continues. So please, be courteous when staying somewhere other than your home!

The customer service was really bad from the Mgr to the house keeping. I was stalked they watch me like a hawk literally stood by my room… my kids where yelled at age 5-8 to get out while they were fresh out the pool maybe it was my skin color thou. I hate to say that but we where treated so rudely and disrespectful I could not sleep I checked out early.

We had a great stay, the hotel is just off of Grand Avenue near the Outback. The rooms were very clean as was the pool. The pool was great, if a bit shallow at the deep end, 4'9" to be exact. The hot tub was at the perfect temperature. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. If I ever find myself out that way again and I need to find a place to stay I would gladly do so again with this La Quinta Inn.

Rooms were subpar. Older decor and not very clean. Breakfast was free although selection and quality wasn't very good.

The location is great! Very close to a lot of awesome restaurants and such. However you can hear the freeway from the room and the AC unit is very old and seems to be falling a part. It is okay for the price but you can tell it is very dated.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels/motels, high-end, low-end, and mid-range. I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly (that one Days Inn in West Virginia. Oy vey! ) For a family traveling on a budget, this was an excellent choice. The rooms, linens, maid service and decor were a cut above your average chain motel. When we needed extra towels/blankets, they were hand-delivered to our room. The pool area didn't have many bells and whistles, but was functional, and indoor (perfect for our rainy weekend stay). The continental breakfast was adequate, with a choice of bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice/coffee, and a waffle-maker. No meats, and they only served until 9 a. M. So if you wanted to take advantage of it you couldn't sleep in (and by 8:30 the pickings were pretty slim and you had to fight a crowd) but that seems to be the norm for mid-range motels nowadays, and if you plan strategically you can feed the kids free fruit and muffins and save your budget money for a good lunch. The staff was young but professional, except for Sabrina. Sorry to call you out by name, dear, but you appeared to me to be in your mid-to-late twenties — not so young that you don't know the difference between professional behavior and icy rudeness that's pretending to be professional. We've all had that passive-aggressive experience with a service employee who spoke the right words but were very disrespectful in their attitude and tone.

You can tell it's older hotel but very clean and with helpful and pleasant staff. Would stay here again.

Nice, clean and quiet place to stay. Reasonable rates. Close to six flags park and gurnee mills mall. Lost of restaurants to choose from. Nice location.

I roomed in 206 and 127. For the price-range, it's comparable to more expensive hotels and I was pleasantly surprised how well maintained these simple lodgings were. Cleanliness — honestly, immaculate. Both rooms were very clean and cleaned daily during my stay. Bed/toiletries/linens — Mattresses are very nice, with a memory-foam feel and stain-free. Thoroughly checked for bed bugs and had no signs before unpacking, during or 7 days after my stay. Linens clean and crisp, the comforter was very new and clean but fairly thin. Generously sized bath towels with larger ones available upon request for the pool. There were plenty bath-towels provided for two people, but you may want to request additional ones for more as well as hand towels and washcloths. The wall — mounted — thermostat-controlled air unit was very easy to operate and worked very well. Windows are operable, and will open roughly 4 inches before they're stopped by what I assume is in place for insurance reasons. Entertainment — 30" new flat screen had so many shiny toy capabilities, including the Audio and Video ports for my old-school PS2, 2 HDMI ports, USB. The Plug and Play feature was easy to use, and comes with a pleasing channel variety (roughly 30 channels if I remember correctly. ) The Wi-Fi, sadly, would drop. It does come back on its own, however, one of the drops I made a call to the front desk and requested they reset the routers.

Stayed here twice beds are comfortable, breakfast good no complaints.

My family and I stayed at this location on 4/26/13, for one night. Aside from the parking lot, which needs paving, the premises was well kept. The rooms were nice, the beds were comfortable. The pool is well kept, and the water warm. The breakfast area was nice and big, with a fairly wide selection. For the price, a good value. I have stayed at almost all the hotels in this area, and, aside from one other hotel, La Quinta wins on offering a nice stay. The rest are not even worth a revisit. Now, that said, one reason I stayed at this location was to see if it would be a good fit for a large group I have coming to the area in August. When I inquired about the rates for the upcoming weekend, I was told $40 more per night. They said it was because of Six Flags. A hotel across the street offered me rooms for the August trip, at the same rate they charged in April, and they offer queen bed suites, whereas La Quinta only offers double or king rooms. Otherwise, they have all the same amenities. When I checked online, the pricing was even different from what the person at the hotel told me. So, if you are looking to stay in Gurnee, and cannot get in to the hotel across the street, La Quinta is a good second chioce.

We had five in our party, so a roll away was added to the room. All was well. Breakfast fine, room fine, access to Six Flags and "The Mall" excellent. If these are your destinations this La Quinta is the right spot. The family has traveled all over the country and this La Quinta is above average for hotels in this price range.
