It is an amazing hotel with a great view and above average customer service. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to stay in Chicago.

My parents stay here whenever they come to visit. It's a very nice hotel but the rooms facing the El on the lower floors can be loud. Other than that no complaints. Great staff, great roof deck, great restaurant. It's nice to finally have a hotel in Bucktown.

I had some of the best customer service here. I stayed for about 3 days and by the last day the restaurant had my order memorized and coffee ready quickly and the hotel staff knew my name. It made me feel home away from home. The uniqueness of the room and price for the location and quality was great as well.

We went to a concert at the Concord theater and this hotel worked out great for us. It is about a 15 minute walk and we felt very safe walking back at 1am. We stayed on the 12th floor and the view was terrific. The room was very clean and comfortable. It felt modern yet vintage, reminded us of Paris. All the staff we encountered was very pleasant. The up room and cabana club were very cozy and both seemed to be a great escape for a little relaxation. When it comes to parking their valet is 45 dollars but if you use "Spot hero" you can park for 24 hrs for 20 dollars. Enjoy.

Really great location near tons of restaurants and bars. Also close to the blue line. Beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly.

Chill vibe, great-tasting & unique drinks with city-vernacular wording, & spectacular view of the city! Expect a wait if no reservation in pricey private room called The Grotto. Overall, expensive night out but the view is priceless. The crowd seems to be controlled by making people wait to get in. Perfect place to have a small get together! Or to chat over some cocktails with a friend or date!

A fancy looking hotel in a very convenient location that used to have no hotels! Reasonably priced and very very helpful and friendly staff. The only real issue was that the rooms are so aggressively industrial looking that they are very loud. Concrete floors, hard wood and metal and everything is square. So lots of bouncing sound. Very nice beds! Also I've never been a fan of the rain type shower head. I like the hand held style best. Thanks!

We had an amazing time from start to finish! Awesome hospitality! We arrived in town mid morning on Sunday & stopped in to drop off our luggage, were told our room was just about ready so we were able to check in right then. The annex lofts are so cool! We had awesome space for our family of 5 & the boys loved the bunks & the train right by our window was actually really cool & didn’t keep anybody awake. And we LOVED the rooftop pool! We were a little bummed to hear it was 21 & up after 5, but we made it work & it was great! I almost canceled our reservation because I was worried the hotel wouldn’t be a good fit for my family but it absolutely was! Will definitely be back!

A very unique hotel as it is a converted office building. Walking down the hallway, it felt like an old office building — the room door is that non-see through, textured glass found in old offices; even kept the mail chute where you dropped mail to the mail room. I was in the Tower queen room — on the smaller side but they did a great job maximizing the space. Nice neutral decor with a throwback feel. Bathroom was a good size (didn't feel cramped) with a good size shower but no counter space (I used the window sill for space). I was on the 4th floor and you do hear the street traffic — the hotel provided ear plugs in the room so I think they acknowledged it already. Nice location, steps away from a train stop which can take you to/from the airport and downtown Chicago. The neighborhood is cute and convenient with a wide variety of restaurants and stores within walking distance. Very friendly staff, nice rooftop pool but no gym. Hotel has a restaurant and 4 other bars/lounges.

Great renovated hotel with a retro feel including a phone and physical keys. Great location in Ukrainian Village means plenty of restos and activities at your doorstep. Roof bar and pool cabana bar offers great drinks.

Wow! We had a late set of meetings during a Chicago conference. All my usual tourist hotels were booked. I had to book far away — in Wicker Park. Very cool neighborhood and very young and residential. This hotel is only about 2 yrs old. No one had ever heard of the place. Very nice hotel. If the W Hotel wanted to go industrial this is what would happen. Restaurant was great. Drinks were terrific. Very small pool with a nice view of the neighborhood. Don’t miss this place.

Place was pretty sweet. We were initially told it would be a 30-40 min wait to get up top but it was more like 15. The view from the cabana on the 6th floor was cool but the top floor was sweet. Was there on a perfect night and the waitress/bartenders were cool. A perfect place to chill and have some drinks with people or as a couple.

The roof view was impressive, even on a bad day. The food was delicious and the drinks were mighty. I have nothing bad to say.

Friend was staying on the fifth floor. Room was for a single or couple. Views were great. Dinner at the restaurant was great. The staff loved making the dishes works of art. Drinks on the roof were pricey but the view was amazing.

My friend came to visit from Ohio and I brought her here for the ultimate night views. There is a cute little heated room outside and nice cozy seats inside. Cocktails are quite expensive, but it is worth a drink to enjoy the cozy ambiance. By far a great spot to share with your guests! I highly recommend the Robey Up Room.

The Robey was very courteous and helpful. A few friends met me for birthday drinks and cake in the Robey's lounge. Because life got busy, I called the Robey the day before if I could bring a food-allergy birthday cake into their cafe. They were more than accommodating. They charged me a reasonable cake cutting fee and reserved me a table. The day of, the manager introduced himself and confirmed everything was taken care of. This place is amazing, friendly, and quality. I couldn't have had a better experience.

Great bar on the second and top floor. Good drinks and environment. Dark and intimate in the second floor. Great view of the city from the top. Knowledgeable bartenders.

We had a queen bedroom on the 9th floor. Room was excellently clean and easy to access at any time. Hotel was awesome and the rooftop bar was fantastic. Would recommend.

Very unique hotel in a great location. The room was nice, bed was very comfy. Super roof top bar with delicious cocktails! I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

We have now stayed at the Robey, and the Robey hall. Rooms in both were very nice. The Robey rooms were smaller, but have more high end furnishings. The Robey hall room was much larger and still very nice. Lots of concrete and an industrial look at Robey hall. When staying, do make sure to check out the rooftop in the Robey. Employees were setting up for a private event, but still allowed us to take pictures of the Chicago skyline and hang out for a while. We really enjoyed the lobby space at the Robey hall. Beer and coffee prices there were quite affordable compared to shops / bars nearby. We did not eat at the restaruant in the Robey but it looked quite nice. The best part is the location. If you are wanting to explore Wicker Park or Bucktown with easy access to the L train to take you downtown, then this is the place.

With knowledgeable bar tenders and beautiful views this is a great vista in Chicago. Due to zoning laws they have 180° of nearly unobstructed skyline views. I recommend coming during the week to avoid the crowds that set up shop on the weekends. If you feel like balling out they have a few rare spirits you can taste of you got the money!

The rooms are lovely, and the staff incredibly helpful! One of the better hotel options in Chicago. The bar and cafe are pricey but delightful.

Room was tastefully minimalist and very comfy. Concrete floors, very high ceilings, modern rain-style shower. Shower gel smelled really good. The bunk beds were very sturdy and I had no issues climbing up the ladder. I initially just wanted to check out the view, but the bed was so cozy and comfy that I decided to sleep there! Our room had lockers for 6 people (and was priced such that it would be affordable were 6 people to share it. ) Each locker had towels and a bathrobe and slippers, which was a nice touch. One item missing from the room was water cups! Hotel is right by elevated train line, so you do hear the train passing outside sometimes. The building also has a swimming pool somewhere, but we didn't have time to check it out.

Hands down best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The employees were beyond amazing and the hotel was so well designed and stylish and clean. Great views and nightlife all around. And the train is right spanking there! This is where I will always stay at from now on in Chicago.

The location is prime and tons of food options late late within walking distance. The glass bathroom wall is a bit too open of a design. If you have the room to yourself now worries. The rooftop bar is beautiful and the pool is closed during the winter. Great staff, very friendly and willing to help in anyway.

Went to The Robey last night, after a friend visiting from out of town stayed there last week. Thought I'd share a little about our night. Note to all those who waited on us, if I misspelled anyones name my apologies Called at 4 pm yesterday, spoke to Gabriel asking if it was possible for a 7pm reservation for two which, surprisingly, he confirmed. About 10 minutes later got a call back from Nicholas who said they couldn't do 7, but could do 6:30. Told him not a big deal, I appreciated them fitting us in with such late notice.
Rolled in at 6:30, received a warm greeting from host Ken and was quickly seated. FYI they suggest (we did) that you put your name on the waitlist for the Up & Up rooftop lounge, as wait time can be an hour plus. Our waitress, Nikita, promptly stopped by, gave us an overview of the menu and took our drinks order. I'm no chef so I'll just say we both loved our meals (chicken and steak). Nikita was great, that perfect mix of friendly attentiveness without hovering. Nicolas also stopped by to confirm we were enjoying ourselves. With dinner winding down we received a text confirming our Up & Up slot, so walked up to the 2nd floor to catch the elevator where we were met by Douglas. Had a pleasant chat discussing the history of the building and all the renovations then hopped in the elevator for a ride to the roof. The hostess, Saskia, and waitress, Rene, were as friendly and attentive as the staff downstairs.

Popart revivalist hipster chic. Nice place though. Parking sucks since it's in the heart of Wicker Park but cool addition to the area.

Pros: amazing location. In the heart of Wicker Park and right beside a CTA station. Cool, eclectic, hipsterish lobby (turntable, records, coffee, bar, bike rental all in one place) and staff. Cons: Minimalist washroom left a lot to be desired. The shower particularly had a very limited water pressure.

Overall, I'd give this place another shot. Nothing particularly jumps out at me from the food, but it isn't necessarily bad. As for French, I'd say it's a good place to try with a nice atmosphere for dates, especially for its' location.

The atmosphere is perfect for just relaxing with friends and having a couple of drinks. The second floor lounge is amazing. Nick the bartender of the second floor is the one to see. He's a cocktail master, ask him for something good and he's got you.

Quite possibly my favorite hotel in Chicago. Rooms are small but have everything you would ever need. They maximize every square foot. The rooftop bar is incredible and the cafe is delicious. Total package!

The Hollander is great with everything you need, bar, coffee and access to the Robey. Super clean and cozy.

So much to love about this new Bucktown feature! Gorgeous design throughout. Restaurant in first floor is amazing, have eaten both breakfast and dinner there, outstanding service and food. The roof deck lounge is a must see, nothing else like it in Bucktown. Pool and pool deck are also very beautiful, though pool is really just a plunge, still great though. We've stayed overnight once, found the room to be equally gorgeous design. We had a big corner room on top floor, looking out on six corners, amazing views. Killer bathroom, but no bathtub. Can be a bit noisy in the room on a weekend night, but not overly so. Overall, love this place.

Great urban chic hotel. Rooms are incredibly clean, great mattresses. High end restaurant on site, two bars with rooftop views of the Chicago skyline. A little pricey for the lack of amenities like a fitness room, good pool, spa, etc. Also not in the greatest neighborhood — nightclub across the street had a very. Rowdy crowd in the street that police had to break up one of our nights there. Very convenient to the L, also.

Great interior design of common spaces and great location. The rooms carry the expense of the excellent common spaces and it shows. -Extremely small rooms. Smallest I have ever been in. -No fitted sheets, just an untucked flat sheet. Super gross to sleep on a hotel mattress cover! -No coffee in the room -No waters in the room -Our sink was plugged -Window curtains are white and see through -Some outlets don't work -Light switches are weird turn knobs. Overall I would not stay here again and wouldn't recommend it. Come here and have a drink and enjoy the common spaces but don't waste your money staying at the hotel.

Stayed here one of the first few weekends it was open, so everything was in pristine condition. Coffee shop in the main lobby is also killer. Update: Went back for Happy hour at H! bar and their old fashioned did not disappoint. Very strong and delicious.

This is a really nice hotel. The rooms are small but nice and well appointed. Very comfortable. I believe they have s few service issues that shoulder be worked out if charging premium prices. I was staying two nights for a wedding. When I arrived I asked for a luggage rack but they couldn't locate one. After a few minutes they did offer someone to help carry my stuff, which was nice. The hotel has a weird light switch set up I believe because this is a landmark building. Sounds trivial but I spent way too long in the dark trying to figure out how to turn the lights on. A brief tutorial would have been nice. Lastly, the rooftop bar was only one floor from me so I decided to take the stairs. Bad choice as the stairs are locked. I spent 35 minutes in the stairwell trying to find a way out. When I was let out I was told I needed to take the elevator down to the first floor and and get on a different elevator and not to use the stairs. All of these little things would have been great to have been explained. If they were I would have given 4-5 stars.

Location is great! Conveniently next to a major intersection of several commercial streets with great shopping, some of which is high end. Steps from Damen Blue Line station which comes directly from the airport. Rooms are clean and model loft style and staff is friendly. Several outlets and lamps located next to every bed. Staying in both the dorm and the private room was a pleasant experience!

I loved the view from the Robey Lounge-classy view of the crazy Milwaukee — North — Damen intersection. It also has a really nice rooftop view. Their cocktail, wine and beer selection is respectable. My friends and I tried several of the cocktails in the Robey lounge, and they were a good mix of boozy and tasty. Also, the fries are perfectly crispy and come in a larger bowl than expected — seriously great deal. I only wish they had more gluten-free options.

Easily my favorite Chicago hotel (and I've stayed at more than a few since I'm here for business weekly. Astounding Staff, Awe-inspiring views, excellent restaurants/bars, and a certain homey-ness that I haven't found elsewhere. I always come away from my stay at the Robey thinking, "I could live here"

Very nice lobby /bar. Hostel room is very clean and simple with its own bathroom. Also affordable making it a very great place to stay.

I only went to up & up for drinks. Awesome view and decent drinks. A little pricey but that's to be expected. Good service.

The indoor lounge was nice but was looking forward to going to the Cabana Club on the 6th floor. When we got there, it had a great view, but there wasn't much of an atmosphere. Once it got dark there were no candles or lights outside, it was pretty dark. They have only been open for 6 days so I'm sure they will figure it out!

The rooms were awesome. They were very unique. The showers were great. The room service perfect. The food was awesome. Every worker seemed to enjoy there job and we're very good and nice at them. I loved it.

Very nice boutique hotel in a hip neighborhood. The staff is very professional, the room very bright and clean, and the lounge/cafe is a super nice place to hang or to get work done during the day. We didn't have the chance to see the roof because it was super busy and you have to put your name down. There is a club in front of the hotel. It can be super busy and loud at night (in addition to the train). Be prepared to wear earplugs!

I had a baby shower here with 10 guests, and it was a great experience. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, the private room (with included lounge area right outside the room before we started) was well-apportioned, and the food was good. The Robey had also printed private menus based on the food offerings specific to our group. I would definitely recommend the space for a small group size, and I understand there are also bigger rooms for bigger groups.

Stayed a night mid week for a concert at Concord Hall a few blocks away and was very impressed with my stay. The building is gorgeous. The room was exactly like the photo, very clean, modern, and simplistic. I did have a private room as some rooms can be shared. There's an awesome cafe in the lobby as well. Location wise you can't ask for much better. There are options for days in terms of eating, drinking, and shopping. I'll definitely be returning for the summertime.

Great location right next to the Damen blue line. Depending on your floor you'll have a cool view of the Chicago skyline. Apparently stunning views from the roof top bar, closed on Sundays. Rooms are quite small, given the age of the building it makes sense. Could tell the room was near brand new. Overall trendy / historical feel.
