Staff here are warm and very professional. The concierge in particular was extremely helpful. Rooms are spacious and have a cool, sleek look to them, but some of them seem like they could use some updating. Beautiful lobby and bar area, though drinks are certainly priced at a premium! Good location near Michigan Avenue.

Not impressed. The fact that I am up writing this at 2am, while still lodging in this hotel speaks wonders. First it Took 30 minutes to check in on a Thursday due to incredibly slow lines. Then we had to ask for a crib to be brought to the room 3 times. Then realized they gave us ONE small face towel for the restroom. However, the icing on top of the cake is the air does not seem to be working in our room. We have it on 55, as low as it will go, and if feels like it is in the high 70s. My infant has been up every 30 minutes crying because he is not used to sleeping while it is so warm. Would attempt to request another room but we are traveling with an infant, and it would be such a hassle to move. Can not wait to check out and move hotels!

My partner and I travelled from Canada for an event here in Chicago. Upon checking in we were notified of 100$/night "incidental fee" which we didn't know of and was not listed online. We came with limited credit card access and could not process the extra charges to our card however after speaking with Raquel at the check in desk she allowed us to pay cash which was a huge life saver! She really went the extra mile to make our visit special and carefree. The room was clean and tidy, beautiful bathroom and a view of the pier. 10/10 service from Raquel and I won't hesitate to recommend Swissotel to anyone visiting.

Fantastic hotel overlooking the Chicago River. We spent a night in a corner room and the views were spectacular. Large, clean and comfortable. Ordered room service which was good, not great. We did have a minor issue with their Wifi and the price is a little steep. Otherwise great.

A beautiful hotel with over the moon views! The staff here is top notch as well. I was booked here unexpectedly by Amtrak when my train missed its connection. I thought I was going to be shuffled through and treated like a lower citizen. Not at all!

Extremely clean rooms and hotel with amazing staff! The people are very friendly and ready to help. Check-in and check-out is a breeze with people happy to assist. I’ve taken one star off because the room service breakfast wasn’t all that good. Eggs were runny and the turkey bacon was uneatable. I basically threw the breakfast out after eating only the croissant and fruit.

Love the Swissotel at the top of my list of favorite places to stay. The staff is always amazing the rooms are incredible. There's not a bad thing to say about the hotel. Added bonus it's extremely close to a great dog park.

Couldn't have asked for a better Chicago experience! We spent a long weekend in the city for my birthday and absolutely loved the location as we were right downtown and were able to walk to everything. Robert at the front desk made sure our stay was excellent. I hope to be back!

I went here to attend a conference that was on the first floor. It is kind of like the lower level because of the way Wacker Drive is elevated. The breakfast was very good and the accommodations were great. I did not stay here overnight but frequently my vice presidents do. The location is right on the river near the Miracle Mile. It is a wonderful part of town and very scenic. I can't can't speak to the value of an overnight stay. If you are coming from out of town it is walking distance to Navy Pier and other tourist sites up and down Michigan Avenue.

Good facilities, very clean and in good condition, well located. The view is good.

Excellent Hotel the rooms impeccable no noise nor even poorly educated bobbins typical shouting down the hallways, unsurpassed view location the best 2 blocks from the mile, Millenium Square and the Bean (Cloud Gate) pharmacy on return (CVS) to staff They only lack SONRREIR even if it is false but that saves you tips. The one who keeps the luggage has a jeta of few friends and because I save the tip.

First time staying here and it has been wonderful. The front desk was friendly and fun, and my room is quite nice. Corner room with wonderful view and comfy bed. Came back from work today after having 3 of the 4 coffee pods to find 6 waiting for me. Very nice service and anticipation of my wants. Thank you for a great stay.

The Swissotel provided a nice venue for our national conference. Location is nicely located in Chicago. Service was courteous and helpful. The layout of the hotel took awhile for me to understand though. Overall a wonderful place. Thank you!

Q Only complaint I have is Q the bathender of the bar below have no sympathy or anything coordialidad. They must aprendrer of Panchoo Q is a great waiter.

First time staying here, they don't have a rooftop, but the pool and sauna are great. We did have to run next door to the Hyatt Regency hotel for drinks and there buffet! Our room had a great view we only payed $40 more per night do upgrade. Rooms were very clean and staff very friendly. Definitely staying here next time we visit Chicago!

Super fun place with a great pool area. The staff were really friendly. We used a Hotel Tonight stay and it was great. We will definitely come back here again. The breakfast restaurant lets children easy free and head great food and service. Fun party bar atmosphere.

Delighted with the service and the deluxe rooms plus it is super well located. We were walking everywhere in spite of the cold of December.

This place is gorgeous and the staff is very courteous and respectful. The bartender did her job which is another plus. The breakfast was very delicious and delivered to our room right on time. I couldn't ask for more from this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great view downtown Chicago.

Great location and nice public areas. Rooms are quite dated but comfortable. Bathrooms need work. Would stay again for the right rate (well under$200) but definitely needs some work to be a first choice.

I just came back from a weekend trip in Chicago, and of course I had to stay at one of my favorites, the Swissotel. I’m a big fan of modern architecture and the Swissotel is a stunning, all glass, triangular hotel designed by Harry Weese. It’s ideally located right off of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan and is just a short walk away from the Navy Pier, River North, and Magnificent Mile. We were accommodated with the most beautiful Christmas-decorated room on the 41st floor. We purchased the ‘elf decorated room and beautifully decorated trees and wreaths lit up our room and they even delivered us champagne, milk, and cookies to us every night. Along with this special, the hotel gave us 4 VIP passes to skate at Maggie Daley Park which included free lockers and hot chocolate. The skating ribbon was such an amazing sight to see, especially with the skyline in the background. The rooms are HUGE and the beds & sheets are a dream. I loved the oversized bathrooms as well! The team at Swissotel couldn’t have been more kind or helpful, especially Brittany – I’ve always been treated very well there and I’ve never had any problems. Oh, and if you decide to stay there, stop by the downstairs bar for an ice-cold beer and buffalo wings. I can’t wait to stay here again during my next trip!

We just did a one night staycation at the Swissotel and it was a wonderful time! I've read mixed reviews and I can't say I understand why. Our room was clean and comfortable with great river views, and the staff was very friendly. They are totally welcoming to dogs and we took our pup all around the hotel. The swimming pool and the fitness room are huge! Best of all, there is a Santa Suite during the holidays and it's decorated with all kinds of trees and Santa even showed and took a photo with us! I will definitely stay there again and recommend it for all families. A Chicago hidden gem ☺

Traveled to this hotel twice in two years for a business meeting. Evening check-in staff was less than friendly/borderline rude both times. Rooms were comfortable but nothing spectacular for the price. It was clean and well kept. Leave the hotel to get dinner, there are much better dining options off-site. Room service breakfast was good.

Lousy, advertised as a 5 star hotel and is a low budget hotel, the staff is hostile, and overall the hotel looks partner from the front desk… the shower in the bathroom has very bad design you pull all the gua you finish the towels in dry the floor, you have to ask for towels and it may take more than one HR to bring them and the lady who answers gets angry when you call back, this happens every day! I would never stay there the staff does not have the DISP or service language of a 5 star hotel. If at 9 am we had not left the room Miss Housekeeping came to play to ask that HR could make the room!

The location is excellent, you can walk to Millennium Park and Magnificent Mile. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff very friendly.

A very nice hotel. Convenient location and nice, comfortable rooms. The bar has a nice selection of beers and cocktails. Rooms are spacious, clean and we'll furnished. Bathroom is clean and spacious as well. Bathrobes provided for guests as well as coffee and Wi-Fi.

Lovely place. They were so kind as to not only upgrade me to a suit but they seemed not too disturbed that I bounced out of there 4 hours past my already extended checkout time. Just make sure you leave money for the cleaning ladies, they work so hard and do SUCH a good job.

We arrived on time, and got off to a rocky start. First, we were told our room was not ready, and we need to wait for a hour. After some conversation about what was right, the young was able to get us a room. I and my daughter was happy. The room was very nice and clean. Thank you!

I don't even know where to begin. Our stay was beyond fantastic! Upon arrival Keenan our concierge who checked us is was AMAZING! He was super friendly accommodating my spouse an I. Bring it was my first time visiting Chicago he made sure we were equipped with a room with a BEAUTIFUL view of the water front, Navy pier etc. I couldn't be more thankful it made my stay even better. Thank you Keenan. The hotel is equipped with a nice size pool my spouse loves to swim so that was his first stop and he wasn't disappointed at all. Being we are New Yorkers we didn't know everything around closed quite early for our time frame so we ended up having dinner right downstairs in the hotel lobby in which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our stay was beyond magnificent I couldn't be more pleased with staff members who greeted us every chance they got and were so pleasant. The room was very spacious and beautiful. Loved every moment.

Clean, Pretty, close to many desirable parks, theaters, and eateries. Smart Elevator is fun (but has no idea of the quantity of people waiting so we have only one elevator open for 15 people). Room service is very quick. Whenever we call for more toiletries or other requests, they respond within 5 to 10 minutes. Room are spacious and we had a lovely view of the river. Building had several entrances and exits to access different parts of the city. Diner right behind hotel (have to walk down a few flight of stairs to reach the park where the diner and Mariano Fresh Market is located). You can walk past the fire department and take a short cut through the side of the Chase building and use the Elevator from inside Mariano to get down to the Diner and park.

The hotel was far enough away from most anything on the magnificent mile. Hard to figure out how to get to, even with GPS assistance. The room was ok, but liked to be in major need of a touch up. Carpet was bubbled, bathroom ceiling had paint peeling, & lots of corners and little signs of a desperate need for TLC. When you pay $250/night you expect a high end, well maintained experience. This was definitely not the case. I won't be staying there again.

A nice hotel in a reasonable location. Located on the river, it is easy to walk around downtown from here with lots of options for dining nearby. A few minutes walk from the subway and taxis readily available by the lobby The rooms are nice, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is fine but hosted in a basement room with little ambiance. However, the two occasions I tried to find a bellboy to store / retrieve my luggage I had to hunt rather than them being readily available.

Excellent central location, this hotel is very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the beds very nice and fluffy. The decoration is a bit old-fashioned. The most is undoubtedly the view of the lake in high floor, the swimming pool and the gym. Excellent breakfast.

Nice hotel and very good reception. The room is spacious, comfortable and has bath outlets, iron, safe, hairdryer, coffee machine, fridge and even an umbrella. Every client feels important.

Good location.

The location was great, close to the Loop and Magnificent Mile. If you are taking the transit, the trains are about a 15 min walk away. Although we could hear the elevators next door, the view was gorgeous and the room was huge. Great deal for a just a standard room. The elevator system needs updating. It was a huge backlog at times as it would pile everyone in one elevator, even though there were six.

The hotel is very nice and more family friendly than I expected it to be. It was a little bit of a pain to add a night to our stay after having booked the first night online. We enjoyed our stay overall and would stay here again.

Great location, right on the river, 1 block from Michigan Ave. Attractive, modern styling throughout. We were granted check-in at 9:30 am, which was a very nice surprise. Room was nicely appointed, and larger than expected. Fantastic view of the river and lakefront! All staff interaction was very pleasant and professional. Would definitely stay again.

Swissotel has been amazing since the second we pulled up! They have doormen to help you out of the cab, bellhops will deliver your luggage to the room if you ask. Check in was incredibly kind, and when I told them it was my birthday they sent a handwritten note and flowers to my room. The view from the corner suite is incredible; you can watch boats moving on the river, see the fountain and the city lights. The room was clean, the bed is soft. We're here until tomorrow and I've never been sadder about leaving a hotel. I will be staying here every time I come to Chicago for sure!

I stayed at the Swissotel for 3 nights during a business trip. The location and staff were fantastic. The room itself felt a little dated, tile in bathroom was cracked, etc. It's obviously not a new hotel, so I didn't expect it to be immaculate. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and this one is up to par with the others for the price. I had a nice soft bed, and a hot shower when needed so I can't complain much.

Nice Ritzy hotel that I cant afford to stay at, but nice happy hour at American with great appetizers and get there early for seats. It's also great because it's right across the street form the Ferry Marketplace I didn't know about it until my cousin from out of town showed it to me. It's basically a indoor farmer's market.

Everything here is nice, the food is little/Glans.

My wife and I booked a weekend in the city for our one year anniversary and couldn't have been happier with the accomodations. The hotel is very modern with the 24/7 bar/restaurant essentially being apart of the lobby. The concierge was also very helpful in arranging a surprise for my wife in the room prior to our arrival! Next time we spend a weekend in the city we'll definitely be staying at the Swissotel.

Location was very good. Central near orchestra where we took a 10 minute cab to. Very nice check in process and efficient elevators. Rooms were very nice with most having a great view especially as we were on the 36th. Gym was beyond good. Exceptional free weights section and cardio.

Awesome High class Hotel, very clean and modern. Good Wi-Fi connection and great entertainment possibilities. Views are beautiful (stayed on 32nd Floor). If only one bottle of Water were to be free I'd give it 5 stars :)

Pretty good room service. It was snowing a lot when we got there and the only option to park the car was to use the valet parking system. The valet parking people were very unfriendly and rude. When we were checking out of the hotel, they told us to go down to the garage ourselves to get the car when we already paid for the valet parking fee. What does valet parking mean? It's not self parking… It was a very unpleasant experience.

It's a short walk off of Michigan Ave, but closer to that area than a loop hotel. The staff was very friendly, from the concierge to the random employee in the elevator (cool elevators, btw). The bed was good, but the pillows were big and too firm for my taste. Keurig in the room is complementary, but no free breakfast, other than that. Nice bathroom, though our stand-up shower leaked out into the floor.

The hotel is beautiful. The bar servers were a little frazzled at being busy and not quite ready to cover their tables. The hotel charges for in hotel calls so be careful with that. They also charge for toothpaste but a nice man gave it to us for free when he realized none was out in the store. Loved the decorations. Very efficient elevators.

So we payed with a mastercard got there and for sone reason they need a card incase we have incidentals Said my credit card would only be charged for incidental we had no incidental so they charged my second card got three different reasons why we were charged and the two very rude people to deal with at the front desk. Guess the black girl didn't like a white person asking why money was taken from our card then the next girl laughed because she seen it as no big deal… finally had to get a manager involved to get it settled and to understand that they charged to one card wrongly and returned the money. So be careful to WATCH your credit card statement The veiw is ok if you want a great veiw of the city go to the Hyatt or Sheraton which is across the street. Beds are ok really soft so if you need a firm bed might want to look elsewhere. No continental breakfast so plan on walking for somewhere to eat. Rooms are small.

Rooms are above average. I stayed in both lake-view and city-view king-bed rooms, each above the 30th floor. Views are decent but often partially obstructed. Service is great, very responsive. Bathrooms aren't the most optimal layout but it's nice that they have both a tub and shower. Despite being on a high floor somehow it seemed that the city noise was still pretty pronounced. Maybe, I'm just a bit sensitive to it but it was noticeable to me. I only had room service once but it was good. Pasta, bruschetta and clam chowder tasted great. Style of the rooms isn't as modern as I'd expected but better than not a deal breaker.

I recently stayed here for a conference. The customer service was horrible. No one greets you as you enter and exit. The front desk staff are not friendly. My roommate's name was added to the account four times! She had to check in before me and they took her payment but the room was not ready. When she returned to get a key, they had no record of her on the room, despite the fact they had her payment information. This went on our entire stay. Housekeeping cleaned our room and left dirty towels on the floor and no clean towels. When I called, they actually chuckled about it. I will never stay here again.

I was recently in Chicago for a conference and we stayed at the Swissotel. When we arrived after our flight they didn't have our rooms ready. We had to put all our luggage in one of our friends rooms while we went to a meeting. When we got back it still wasn't ready. We had to wait in the lobby until 11 for our room. Once there, our room was clean and nice. However, there was no microwave. The elevators would always took a while. The staff was nice. One time we wanted house keeping to bring us towels, wash clothes, and 2 mugs. The towels and wash clothes took about a half hour and they forgot the mugs. The pool & work out room was nice and well kept. Overall, the hotel was pretty good, but it wouldn't be my first option.

Worst experience ever. When we first arrived check-in was miserable. The man at check in was so slow and not enthused when checking us in. We got to our room, greeted by a trash bag in front of the door in addition to the door being propped open by the lock. The room looked like housing keeping stopped in the middle of their job. There was make up on my towel, the shower lining was filthy, and there weren't any wash cloths. The stains on the carpet were disgusting as well. Because we were in a rush to go to an event, we showered and the TUB FLOODED! I had never seen anything like it in a hotel. How about when I went to the concierge desk, I asked to be directed to the proper place to complain and the guy didn't even verbally respond he just pointed. We packed up all our things, waited in line for 20 more minutes before speaking to someone. I complained, we were given a second room. However when we got there, most of the outlets didn't work and AGAIN there were no wash towels. i will never go back to this place. Whoever gave this place five stars was smoking something.

Such a treat to stay in such a luxurious, grand hotel. After three days driving, the hotel was such a lovely retreat. We stayed on the 38th floor with beautiful views of the lake. The room was a corner suite, with more of a oppulent home feel due to the spacious floor plan. As we went in, off the entry was a personal office with shelves of novels for enjoying, further in was a narrow entertaining area with a wine fridge, coffee, tea maker, glasses, and two bar chairs. This opened into a living room with a sectional, with pull out bed, large wall mounted television. Off this room was the master bedroom and on suite bath. The mirror had a television within it, so while one gets ready, we enjoyed the weather or kids while brushing their teeth could watch a show. Our suite had three televisions. Our children had so much fun, pretending, playing, excersizing in the fully equipped gym, swimming in the pool, relaxing. We ordered room service twice, both times the food was better than expected, though the price reflected it, only complaint was the room service took over an hour both times, if you're in a hurry, not the best option. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff was exceptionally courteous, and helpful. Facilities were stunning, if we ever return to Chicago, we will hope to stay with the Swissotel again.

Nice hotel, but nothing truely noteworthy or spectacular. The room was clean and comfortable, but a bit odd in shape (especially the bathroom). I'll return if another conference is hosted here, but otherwise won't hunt it out as there are better in the area. Location near the Riverwalk was appreciated for a quick midday walk to get some fresh air.

I am disappointed because when we checked out march 23 we left our 3 yr old daughters baby blanket behind. We feel terrible but it was mixed up in the bedding and didn't see it. I would have felt good if it had been returned as honest people do. Obviously this Hotel don't give two shits about a 3 yr Olds broken heart. We have called lost and found every week with no results. Our girl had that blanket since she was born. Her heart will mend but I will never forgive.

Came home with bed bugs and the hotel refused responsibility. They claimed to have had an inspection done, but the report was undated, nor did it provide any details of the inspection such as how long it lasted, etc. These bugs are hard to see, so the lousy report didn't seem very believable. We paid $300 for a one night stay and it cost us now almost $1, 000 to replace things we had to throw out! The only good thing so far is that we seemed to have caught them early and the exterminator who came out (after we tossed bedding, bed frame, etc. ) said it looks like they were gone and there was nothing to treat. The hotel refused a refund of our one night stay, but offered us one night free in the future. You've got to be kidding me! NO THANKS! I would not recommend this place, and if you do decide to stay here, be sure to check behind the headboard and around the bedding for signs of the bugs. I'm not the first person to complain of such an issue at this hotel. And of course the hotel will deny the problem since it would be a nightmare to them if they admitted it! Disgusting.

Is a beautiful hotel. I had the wrong car brought up to me when getting it from the garage. Moved it to a separate facility. I literally could have stolen that car. Just couldn't help but think, what if they gave my car away next. Was pricy. The people are nice and helpful. Overall I did enjoy my stay. Next time however we will be staying at a different hotel.

Horrible Customer Service — I got two different answers when I call and when I show up. Three times! I asked the front desk ahead of time, then turned around and got a different answer when I arrived at the hotel. I was nice and courteous — as I continued to get conflicting information — these people DO NOT CARE that one front desk clerk tells you one thing and one tells you different. They can say whatever they want.

My brother-in-law book our room but it was a very nice and comfortable with a great view. I probably wouldn't stay again only because it's kind of pricey. On the positive side The bathrooms are really nice, and the beds are comfortable. On the negative My brother-in-law also got room service in their room and it was $114 for a steak, so be wary of that. Overall I would recommend it if you're looking for a nicer place to stay.

Overall nice experience and great view! Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Workout center and pool area well kept. In-room Wi-Fi is extra $15, which would have been a turnoff for a longer stay.

I have stayed at the Swissotel twice. Both times were pleasant experiences. The rooms were very clean, and the beds/pillows were extremely comfortable. It was very quick check-in and check-out. I made sure to get the lake-front room the second time because the view is great. I had a great view the first time, but the building next to it wasn't completely finished yet. The Wi-Fi is too expensive for today's standards. The door on my second stay was difficult to close (had to slam it). That didn't bother me, but it may have for the people staying next to my room. I think the location is great for people that want to visit Chicago.

Great hotel in Chicago. I stayed here for and through work. I was really impressed with the views and the efficiency of the hotel. The lounge and check in area would be nice enough to impress most of your friends. The elevators are those new energy efficient ones where you pick your floor and it tells your the elevator, instead of the other way around. The rooms were relatively spacious, modern, and clean. The views from the 29th floor were also pretty spectacular. The bathroom was nice. I wasn't sure why they have a separate shower from the tub but that's fine with me. They gym and pool on the 42nd floor had pretty majestic view. Nicer than most other hotels I have been to.

I had a New Years Eve reservation. I was in town a few days ago and decided to stop by. I wanted to see the type of room I would be getting, as I wanted to compare to the Sheraton and Hyatt Regency. I had booked a junior suite, but was shown a corner suite (not sure why). I loved the view, so I told the associate I wanted a room just like it. He said no problem, and would leave a note in the system so I could get that exact room, if possible. The last thing I asked on my way out was if the price would remain the same, and he said yes. I even made a joke of how we needed more people like him. I took his name down and was going to provide some positive feedback on his behalf, after my stay. I called to get my confirmation number today, only to find I was not booked for the room I had requested. Apparently they called this employee, and he denies telling me what he said. He claims he advised it was available only if I upgraded. That makes perfect sense, and I wouldn't be upset over it if it were true. He never told me I had to upgrade, and why would he leave a note in the system for me to get a corner suite if I wasn't booked for it? Customer service (the 800 number) was useless. Although she was nice, they were unable to help me. My only option was to pay more. I wanted something closer to the lake, but now I realize why I keep returning to Hyatt. At least they can admit a mistake and make up for it.

Horrible horrible experience. So bad that im writing this review instantaneously after checking in and THIS US MY FIRST TIME WRITING A REVIEW EVER! Lemme some this up for you guys ~called and was promised a great view, didnt happen, clerk gave me the "who did you talk to" garbage ~asked for a king size bed, was given doubles, ugh. ~was told that my room would be ready at 6, check in time was suppose to be at 3p ~after all this they never thought to ask if I. Want free Wi-Fi or anything, nothing Was treated like step children. Will never go back.

The hotel is okay with prompt friendly service. We stayed in one of the handicap rooms, and the grab bars around the bathroom were very well placed. We had a nice view of the river, and a partial view of Lake Michigan. My complaints, I feel, are very very important. Our room did not have even one chair that was comfortable to sit in. The very uncomfortable, nearly worn out desk chair had no arms, and was very difficult to get out of. The full sized upholstered chair was like sitting on a brick with arms. All the chairs in the lobby were to low for an older or handicapped person. For two days I was uncomfortable most of the time, and was very happy to get into my comfortable car and drive home.

We stayed in the king corner suite with an additional attached room for the children. It was pricey but worth every penny. They decorated the children's room with fish, seals, etc. For the aquarium package. They had their own little robes and little table along with toys. They loved the milk and cookies. Their room was perfect. Our suite was fabulous with an excellent view. It was spacious, had a Keurig and two bathrooms. The bed was plush and comfortable. We ordered room service for dinner one night and the food was much better than normal room service. The breakfast buffet varied each morning and was simply delicious. My daughter ordered pancakes from the menu and those were also good. The staff was very nice. We will definitely stay here without hesitation when we return to Chicago.

Hotel luxury in the very pleasant that we chose mainly for its ideal location to visit Chicago on foot: the Magnificient Mile and Millennium Park are within walking distance. Possibility also to go or come from Navy Pier (count 25 minutes and a little sexy road late at night)
