Convenient location, nice room, need ice machines… not convenient to have to ask for ice from front desk.

This hotel has gorgeous, spacious, and clean rooms, and every staff member was gracious, friendly, and accommodating! The bar area is beautifully decorated and has comfortable conversation areas. The location is close to shopping, restaurants, and theaters. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

I stayed at your hotel for 1 night. When I woke up in the morning I was called by valet saying my car had been broken into. When I asked if there were security or security cameras that work in the parking garage everyone dodged my questions. I appreciate that my window was fixed before I left town, but then again that's the least that should've been done. Your company was liable for my car, since I had used your valet. Before we left you guys said you would cover the cost of additional repairs to my car (my car's driver side window and whole side of my car has dents and scratches), however since arriving home your company and the valet company has decided to say you won't pay for the repairs since you aren't at fault. However, you guys are at fault. Where was the security when my car was vandalized? In the end, I would NEVER stay at your hotel again, I would NEVER recommend anyone staying there. I hope nothing like this ever has to happen to you. Sadly, after reading reviews of your hotel this sort of thing happens a lot, you should really think about hiring a new valet company, as well as additional security in the parking garage.

Fabulous service and accommodations! Five star!

Great staff! I left two pairs of winter gloves in my car. I described the pair I wanted, and a staff member ran to parking and got them for me. Awesome on a very cold winter day!

Friendly staff and the proximity to Millenium Park for the price tag is very hard to come across. I think I will be going back.

This spot is in an amazing location! It is right by the L train and two blocks from the miracle mile. I really like the people that work there, they were very knowledgeable about the area. They were not annoyed when asked about said area. I was not impressed with the actual room. They were small and a bit anti-climactic. The air didn’t work right either. Otherwise, very charming and clean.

Art Deco themed hotel, very Chicago. Hotel located around everything — near trains, 2 blocks form Millennium Park, Mag Mile and everything. Great location. Rooms were comfortable and big. High ceilings and clean. No ice machine, they take too long to bring you ice, plan in advance. Extra $15 for destination fees (basically the water bottles in your room). Friendly staff. Would stay again because it’s centralized and nice. Wish they had a pool though.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on (YMMV). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good location to nearby boutiques and restaurants. Best hotel off of the Mile that I've stayed at.

This is 100% the best hotel I have ever stayed at! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the food was to die for and the location is perfect for those that really want to explore the best parts of the city. If you are staying in Chicago you should DEFFINITLY stay at Silver Smith Hotel! You will love it.

Silversmith is a nice hotel that's pretty close to all the tourist attractions in downtown Chicago. About a 5 minute walk to river front and 10 minute walk to lake front. The room was very clean but had a faint musty smell. Also, I got pink eye during my stay. Although I can't say for sure it was from silversmith, since I had traveled alot recently. For the price we got it at, silversmith is a good and comfortable stay. Our premium two bedroom was very large.

I have never rated a hotel this low and would give it negative — 100 if I could they are unbelievable. I booked a room online, no mention of an age limit and when my daughter went to check in they wouldn’t let her have her room because she is under 21. They cancelled the reservation and didn’t offer any help. I have never been so angry in my life, three young women in downtown Chicago left without a place to sleep. Don’t book here EVER you have been warned.

Very nice hotel, great rooms. But I booked my hotel through a travel app to get better rates and discounts and what I was quoted when I book and then what I was charged when I check out wasn’t the same and when I called the hotel to inquire about it. The hotel told me that I would have to contact the place that I booked. Rude and short. I will never book this hotel or recommend it to anyone.

2 stars since they had a hidden fee for what they call UPGRADES or in the business a Resort Fee. (Robes, 2 Bottles Of Water, Infused Water In Lobby and Umbrellas if it rained) I would have had no problem paying this, if it were upfront, but got charged days after. Very shady. 2 Stars, since the phones looked like they were built in 1998.2 stars for the uncomfortable spring mattress I'd slept on. 2 stars for not providing coffee in the lobby, but "hipster" infused water. The coffee in the room was ok, nothing to brag about and on the last night the housekeeper, refilled with only tea. With all said and done if staying in Chicago, pay a few extra bucks and head elsewhere.

The staff was very polite & helpful in the sense that they ask specific things that would be helpful as opposed to just say anything we can do bla bla… one staff person offered to keep our luggage till our train. Another suggested dinner and places of interest. The decor in the room was functional and fashionable! Loved our stay.

I have been staying at the Silversmith for the 10 years or so. It was nice prior to the renovation, but it is amazing now. The decor is great, and the quality of the amenities are excellent. The staff is always helpful. There is a newly renovated train stop right outside, making it easy to get anywhere. Close to all of the major attractions. The area has really developed around the hotel too.

The Silversmith has the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel. If you're traveling with valuables I would advise against staying here. After checking out of our room we agreed to let the hotel hold our things since our flight was not for another few hours. Part of our luggage included a small a painting that we had rolled up and securely tied. After letting both the front desk and the person handling our bags know that the piece was delicate and needed to be handled with care, the attendant responded to our request with a, "no problem. " We got back less than three hours later and the staff had changed shifts. When the new baggage attendant let us into the storage room we saw our special art piece shoved up against some one else's wet bag causing noticeable water damage to the fabric. When we asked the attendant what happened his response to us was, "It wasn't my fault" then he turned around and walked away to start a conversation with another employee. This kind of careless response seemed so vulgar coming from someone working for what is advertised as a 'luxury' hotel. The management followed suit by passing the buck in a very patronizing way. After contacting the front office manager I was told that the matter would be dealt with by their corporate office, but since then, (over a month now) It's been radio silence. When I tried following up with the manager I got absolutely no response.

This was our second stay at the Silversmith, and it is now our “go to” place to stay in Chicago. The location can’t be beat, but, more importantly, the staff is outstanding. The rooms are spacious and clean. They even spoiled us with a room upgrade and surprised us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary. We will recommend The Silversmith to anyone traveling to Chicago.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this weekend in Chicago and we stayed at the Silversmith Hotel. We loved it! The decor of the hotel was classy and sophisticated, yet the rate was very reasonable. The customer service was top-notch, especially in the bar/restaurant area… there was one person working and he was on top of everything. Would definitely recommend this place, it was at the top of my list of best hotels.

Stopped in to the Silversmith for drinks after work. Beautiful, modern space with a neat circular bar. Back area has comfortable couches that work perfectly for groups of 5 to 6. Only knock on the experience is the service is a bit slow even when the place doesn't appear to be that busy. Still would go back for drinks, just not when I'm in a hurry.

Good location one block from Millenium Park and North Michigan Av. The hotel is luxurious, the room is spacious and comfortable, has a spacious bathroom with bathtub. The staff does not speak Spanish but it is very friendly. It has a good restaurant called Adas on the ground floor. The downside is that the subway passes right to the front and the noise is constant.

Booked with third party website that describes room occupancy different then what’s available. At check in Management handled it very poorly with threats and more cost. Staff at front desk is extremely polite and helpful except one women that couldn’t be bothered with our questions. Hotel rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. Although house keeping never visited the rooms and we had to call down twice for items.

The hotel ambience was sleek and stylish. Staff was very professional and treated us as if we were royalty. The room was really spacious with high ceilings. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was fully renovated and the room was very comfortable. For the price, you can't beat this place. Centrally located near everything. A block from Macy's. Amazing hotel and location. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience! Top notch — easy walk to ever there we wanted to go! Expensive car babysitting, but seems similar to all the others! Employees were amazing!

We travel to Chicago regularly and like to try different hotels. This year we chose the Silversmith. What a good choice it was the staff are lovely and eager to please the room was spotless, the bed was really big and comfortable. The addition of a coffee machine was a dream. It is in a ideal position for the shops, park, lake and museums. We will not bother to look any further it will be the Silversmith every trip for us now.

I couldn’t wait to do my review of this place so I write this while still here in my room. The staff is A++ and the room is spacious, comfy and clean. Close walk to millennium park, restaurants and shopping. Would stay again a heartbeat. We arrived on a greyhound at 6am and they immediately accommodated us with a room. Greg the doorman is an amazing and welcoming host and even helped my husband who uses a walker get around easier and helped pick him up when he had fallen. All the front desk staff are friendly and efficient. Just wish the taxi drivers could find it easier two of them got lost coming here. Will stay again for sure!

This hotel is perfectly located, very friendly and attentive.

The rooms are nice and full of accommodations. We're talking a fridge, a safe, the simplest a/c. Things have been real quiet especially considering that it's so close to the El railway. People are cool behind the desk. I saw someone withhold a star because the people at the check in desk didn't wave to them everytime they came and went. I get it, but the desk isn't that close to the elevator that it required that level of acknowledgement so frequently. The location is good. Its safe and has so many places to eat. It's also a small block or two away from the best and cheapest parking in the area. It's also close to many hotels like the wit, and some other places.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing wrong to stand out.

My review is for the bar/lounge on the ground floor; I was not a guest of the hotel. The ground floor is nice. The bar sits in the middle with the lounge surrounding it. There are TVs on the walls and the ambiance is very relaxing. The hotel sits right at the new Washington/Wabash station which is a good complement.

Spent five nights here while attending a conference. The property was very nice, with a modern, but slightly art deco vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful. AC and plumbing were new and worked great. There are no views from room windows. EL train runs above Wabash Street in front of the hotel, but once inside the hotel you would not know it. This is Chicago.! Good food just down the street in either direction.

This hotel is quite nice with a lot of space and two televisions. Great service at the front desk. I stayed here with my wife who had it for work. I think they cater to corporate clients and search. Very nice bar but nobody there usually.

Pleasant stay in central location. Hotel was quiet, clean and staff was approachable. Quick bites are not available in hotel but there are numerous shops and restaurants are close. Rooms have many different layouts, suite we stayed was a nice setup.

Nice room and extremely helpful and professional staff. I like the silver motif. The shower tiles are slippery and there is nothing to grab in case someone were to slide. It's not the easiest shower to shave in, because there's nothing to rest your foot on. No room service. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was good, but there are many places around here to eat. Great location.

Had a very nice stay this week. Big comfortable. Room. Great location. Upscale without being too pretentious. Would give it 5 stars but one of the front desk women we had to deal with a couple of times was unneceasaruly short when we checked in and seemed unhappy every time we walked by her and said hello. The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive.

Loved my stay here. I've been away from home on business for weeks and this was my last stop before finally going home. Everything in this place is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is exquisite and beyond accommodating. I travel all the time and I cannot recall the last time I was so impressed with a hotel. Would recommend this place to anyone willing to listen! Staff very friendly, rooms clean, quiet (you can not hear anything, not even the air train that passes in front of the hotel) but the windows overlook a brick wall and the room is obscure if you do not open the lamps. The equipment is a little limited (no hairdryer for example). In addition, it happened that the room was not made.

Great location to visit the city. Metro very close. Excellent service and quality of the Hotel.

Great service. Very nice rooms. We arrived at 8:30 on the overnight train from DC and were kindly given an unexpected early check in on that cold and rainy morning. It sure beat wandering around the city while waiting for a room. Thank you Silversmith!

Very trendy looking hotel. The staff at check in were fantastic. Great location if your doing business in The Loop. Solid happy hour specials at the bar. Last but not certainly least, THIS PLACE SMELLA FANTASTIC!

This is a cracking hotel. The room I had whilst rather dark was very spacious and tucked away in a corner. It was almost like a mini-suite as it had a sofa area with its own TV (as well as there Bing another TV in the bedroom area! ). Lovely bathroom and facilities. Even being right next to the loop which rumbled along 2-3 floors below my window it was a pretty peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. My only gripe was that it was a shame there was no tub, just a shower (albeit a spacious one). The whole theme of the hotel is silver (a link obviously to the name) and it certainly feels quite the glamorous boutique hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I ate dinner in the restaurant just the one night but it was very good. All in all I was very impressed with this hotel and will stay here the next time I'm in Chicago.

Clean. Really nice bedroom, nice bathroom. The pillows and the bed was really comfortable. Really nice lobby, very welcoming and very chic decor.

I have stayed at the Silversmith twice now. Both times have enjoyable. There is very little noise, especially considering it's proximity to the rail line.

My boyfriend and I stayed in December of 2015. My first time in Chicago and it went great, thanks to the Silversmith Hotel employees. Great customer service from the time we walked in to the time we ended our trip! The room was very stylish, glamorous, and had great lighting in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom… it was HUGE! Very clean, with comfortable beds with a cool plug in to charge your phone on the night stand. Bennie showed us to our room and he also was so so nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient. Just 1 block from the Bean and half a block from the train/subway. There are many stores near by such as Macy's, Target, H&M, Nordstrom Rack, Starbucks. Etc. I would definitely recommend staying at the Silversmith Hotel!

The update to the rooms and hotel are very nice. The rooms are spacious and the amenities are great. The exercise room could be bigger with more options.

Very friendly customer service. Rooms were clean and included everything you needed including a mini fridge. Location is in the heart of downtown Chicago just one block off Michigan Ave.

Room was great, service was great. We originally were directed to the wrong room but the staff apologized and could quickly give us another room.

The Silversmith Hotel provided a lovely stay for Christmas for my family and I. Located in Downtown Chicago, only a block away from Millenium Park we couldnt ask for more. The staff waa courteous and provided a great recomendation for dinner at the State & Lake Tavern. 10/10 would stay again.

Everyone is super nice! Very spacious King room with huge bathroom and double shower. Our room was over looking the El but wasn't a problem at all. Very nice lobby/bar, great location… would stay here again!

Great hotel, great service and a great bar. But the Wi-Fi cuts in and out. I work out with a streaming P90x video and my stay at this hotel killed my workout.

Look. Myself and my girl friend have stayed at the silversmith hotel when we come to chitwn and we wont stay anywhere else its beautiful and the hotel personal are fabulously welcoming and as a matter of fact we will arrive fri aug 7th for an overnight stay so look out here we come silversmith folks we love your place tony and krystal.

We will look elsewhere next time. Pros — The rooms are nice and spacious. Big glass showers! Close to everything. After we went home and I found out a charge on my credit card. I tried to solve the issue, but I got hung up by Customer Service. That was not RIGHT! go elsewhere.

The hotel was really nice. Staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. Very close to everything including the "L, " that will get you anywhere else you want to go. Only downside is that you have to request ice-no self serve machines-and no vending machines. I don't care who you are, everyone wants/needs snacks at some point and doesn't want to have to leave the comfort of the hotel. They do have room service though and lots of stores and restaurants VERY close and within walking distance. Some places deliver and late into the night also. Loved that they cleaned our room daily and didn't request that we reuse everything to "conserve energy. " Will definitely stay there next time I'm in Chicago.

My husband and I visited Chicago for the AHR Expo, and we had the privilege to stay here. The entire staff was so very polite and helpful. The staff member that stood out the most to us was Johnie at the front doors, he carried our things to our room, and showed us around the room. (I think that was his name). That was our first visit to Chicago, and we loved it. The location of the hotel was great, and close to everything. Thank you for such a great stay, Silversmith.

This was the 5th time in the last 6 years that my wife and I have stayed at the Silversmith between Christmas and New Years. We have also stayed a couple of other times while I was in Chicago on business. We weren't able to make our usual end of year trip last year so this was our first time as guests since the renovations have been completed. We loved the hotel before but the new look is fantastic! Kudos to whoever was responsible for the new design. The best part about The Silversmith however is the staff. In particular Enrique the doorman who immediately recognized us as return guests and Ryan the bartender who made excellent drink and food recommendations not to mention great conversation. This is the only hotel we will stay in when we are in Chicago.

Stayed her for two weeks when I had Trial and it was excellent. The rooms were spotless, the entire Staff was extremely helpful, the restaurant was delicious, and everything was in walking distance. Highly recommended if traveling to Chicago, IL on business or pleasure.

We booked 3 rooms and stayed for a week several years ago, and are looking forward to our next trip to the windy city. Maybe we won't make it mid-January next time — the wind and temperatures in downtown Chicago at that time of the year were quite extreme for we Australians. The hotel, however, was great. Nice comfortable rooms which were well serviced, friendly and professional staff and the place is very nicely situated to shopping and transport. My wife particularly liked being in the jewelry centre of downtown — is it Jewelry Row right next door? She managed to make her way around all of the stores despite the weather. Cost me a fortune! We were on a tight budget on last trip, but maybe we can get an upgrade to a something a little special as "regulars" on our next visit over there.

Have only been in the bar, it was very nice. Prices were reasonable and the mixologists were smart funny and eager to talk to customers, if the customer so desires. My ordered a Ruby and Sapphire, not a common drink. They did not know how to make it, but had the one critical ingredient to make it, Pama liquor. They gladly listen to instructions on how to make it, and did an excellent job. We will be back.

The entire staff was so helpful and professional. They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. Nothing we needed was to big or to small that they wouldn't take care of. The room was immaculate and comfortable. We were in Chicago in November 2014.

First off, I never write reviews on place good or bad. This place's service and friendly staff was so good to us that I felt necessary to share it with everyone. My now fiance and I went up there for a getaway weekend. I called the hotel and asked if there is anything special they can do for the room because I was going to propose that night. They sent up a bottle of champaign and chocolate covered strawberrys neatly placed on the dresser. There was also a welcom card with a hand written not to my fiance saying complementary drink "captain and coke" at our bar. I told them over the phone that is all she drinks. After she said yes we got back down to the lobby and the two ladies were smiling knowing the good news. Walked outside where the staff helped hale a taxi and off to dinner we went. After dinner and a few bar hoping we got back to the hotlel and missed last call. The bartender made a exception for us and bought the drinks himself. If you are looking to stay in Chicago I highly recoment this place. Rooms are nice and clean, bed is very comfy. The hotel is classy looking all around. The restuarant breakfast was good and reasobable.
