Reviews of Hilton Chicago 4*
Great hotel with excellent views of the park and the lake. Room sizes are fine. Bed is very comfortable. The Irish pub on the ground floor is excellent especially the live music. Parking can he done close by with ample selections on offer. Couple of improvement point: — house keeping didn't make up my room on 2 days of my 5 night stay — TV reception was patchy.
Staff was nice from check-in. Quite efficient. Elevators are plenty and staggered by floors, so reaching the 25th floor was quick. Rooms were quiet. We got a lake view double room. It was nice to wake up to the sun coming up over Lake Michigan. Supposedly booked two queen beds, but apparently Hilton queens are more full size. We ended up getting a roller for one of my two kids. Showers (both of them) had decent pressure, but the toilets started to not flush well in the morning when I assume water usage goes way up. For a large hotel it was fully booked when we stayed but you wouldn't have known it.
Stopped by the Hilton for the Chicago Triathlon expo and packet pickup. The conference rooms were spacious and the presentation set up was great for the athlete orientation. I didn't have very much interaction with the staff, but the signage put up was helpful. However, they could've had signs every 10 feet and this place still would've been a bit of a maze. Still, a nice place for an event/conference.
Hotel is on the large size and very nice. We parked the car in the attached parking ramp. Check in and working with Marcus at the front desk was fantastic. He got us all set up and was very nice with our family. Hotel is on the large size and very nice but spaces are large and easy to maneuver. Andrew helped us with our bags to the room and was helpful with our questions about the City. Very centrally located to the lake front and downtown area. Walked to the Bean and around millennium Park. Just a wonderful downtown area with lots going on all around and lots of different types of people. From runners to families to international tourists to the locals young and old. Very nice walk. Room was nice, large space, clean, smelled fresh. It was a little warm so was able to adjust the thermostat down a few degrees. Shower was nice and towels soft. Very nice overnight in downtown Chicago for my family.
Pro: Latasha at front desk is simply amazing! She went above and beyond with guest service. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Con: Our room was extremely small. Only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel were provided. However, we had 3 wash cloths. Wire hangers hanging on lamp when we checked in. Be aware, they charge $3 per bag for luggage storage. First place I have had to pay for storage. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again due to price and the room and luggage issues.
Attended an event here at the Grand ballroom. The hotel is beautiful and the Grand ballroom even more so. The walls and ceiling were covered in paintings and ornate molding. The service was very attentive and the drinks we were served were great. The dinner was delicious too, especially for a catered event. The beef was cooked nicely and the sauces and seasonings were on point. I would enjoy coming to another event here.
This is a great old school hotel, I think built by Conrad Hilton himself. I found a great rate that included parking, which makes this place a great find right downtown. The room was a 1 king bed, which was a little smaller than new hotels, but perfectly good for 1-2 people. The only 2 minor issues I saw was having to be aware to keep window curtain closed or you’ll become very familiar with the neighbors. The second being a common hotel issue that other guests can’t seem to be quiet when in the Hallways. Seriously people, just don’t talk for the 2 minutes it takes to walk from the elevator to the room.
Best part about this hotel is the convenient location. This establishment is considered historical landmark and it's located right at the heart of Michigan Ave. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and fitness center as well. Overall, when taken a closer look, there are more items out dated as far as interior details then not. Was really hoping for windows where we'd be able to look out but, we had to keep the blackout shades down as we were facing other people's windows in an uncomfortably close vicinity. A/C worked well and sheets were clean. No bottled water was provided with coffee & tea bags. Small fridge was located under the desk. Safe was a nice feature inside the drawer between two beds. Small touch screen is located in the room where we were able to get city info, order airport transit and get as much info on food and entertainment in downtown Chicago.
The outside is very well taken care of and is clean. Just like they say, they don't make them like this anymore. After you enter in the lobby you can see all of the beautiful expensive marbles and it is very nice to see, walking a little further and you step into a grand room that is really breathtaking. Once you step out of the elevator you are in a high end brand new hotel. I didn't find out until later that they had spent a hundred and fifty million dollars on reservations, I find that to be absolutely incredible and it seems like they have rebuilt everything else with brand-new materials and furniture.
It's clean, my room was quiet, the location is lovely. I wished I'd brought my running shoes! Pro tip: I checked in after dark and didn't realize the bottom half of the outer shades should have been rolled down! You can see out fairly clearly, so others could see in.
Loved it! The staff is fabulous. The only room available online was a double bed. My hubby is 6'7". When the desk clerk saw him, she upgraded us to a queen for the same price. There is no free breakfast. Room service is actually quite reasonable and so is the Herb N Kitchen.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… I have stayed here for a 6 days for a conference. The front desk was very friendly and helpful in not only checking-in but also providing me with a map pointing out the main attractions surrounding the hotel. My room was one with three windows facing the lake. You are waking up with a great view and the night lights you can see too. Location is great with this hotel. Overall, the housekeeper was efficient and when I returned to my room for a break, the room is already cleaned and put back to order. Overall, I would come back to stay with my family the next time.

Good location-walking distance to Amtrak/Union Station, Art Institute, several Theatres, Buckingham Fountain, the "Bean". And it looks like an upscale hotel, until they try to put you in a room without a view: single window looking out over a plastic/tarp covered rooftop at a brick wall. Immediately asked for a different room. Second room was better, but was located right by the elevators, so you can imagine the noise and was SN, which we were not. Still looked over a flat rooftop, but acceptable compared to the first room, which they should consider making into a closet. Not sure if I would stay again.
Great place to stay. You are in the middle of everything or a short walk to a lot more. Awesome service. Stayed there for personal and business trips and all the times have been exceptional. Including the conference rooms and set ups. The restaurants are very good also.
A hotel with a great and unique history. Naturalnente a nice place with so many rooms. Like a castle. There is also a small fountain in close by on the lobby:).
Beautiful Hotel! Architecture Extremely beautiful! Excellent location! Recommended for tourist trips!
I went to an event that was sponsored by an organization of Latinos from a school and gave food, which was mediocre but the workers are quite gentle and attentive.
Beautiful Hotel. Very comfortable bed. There were 2 bathrooms in the room, which was convenient. Room felt small considering of the hotel and other rooms. I really appreciated the pool, hot tub and sauna… it was very nice. It was a great location, allowing us to walk to local restaurants and entertainment.
Very elegant. The event attended was in the grand ballroom… so so beautiful. Room was comfortable and had great amenities. Only complaint is the feather pillows go completely flat… as if you are laying on just the mattress. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Over all a wonderful place.
Absolutely beautiful place. The hotel as great staff, lovely rooms, an awesome pool, and a great fitness room. Although I didn't like how much parking was. For 1 night was $62 and once you leave you have to pay again. This was my first time at Chicago and I am from Columbus so most of our hotels are free parking and if they charge they charge less than $20 a night. The Hyatt and Marriott were only $15 a night. I stayed there for 5 nights and I had to make sure I finished everything I wanted to before I came back so I wouldn't have to pay that much again. But lovely hotel I just think they could maybe reduce the cost of parking every night or at least include in-out privileges.
Our stay here was fantastic! Every employee was accommodating and professional. The hotel was clean with plenty to do. We went as a family and had a memorable vacation our children will never forget. I planned this trip for my children after undergoing a years worth of cancer treatment in which they had to really step up. The Hilton met and exceeded my expectations for this trip of gratitude.
In the double rooms there are two separate beds for two people, which is a pity if you travel with your partner. The first impression was otherwise quite okay, on closer look unfortunately not quite clean… Especially in the bathroom there were hairs on the floor and on the Klositz, which does not exactly speak for good hygiene. The service at the reception was very accommodating! We apologized for the inconvenience and we were upgraded… A slightly larger room overlooking the lake. But also here, unfortunately, separate beds.
I shared my room with two other guests. The room had twp beds and a bathroom. The two bathrooms were both very nice and convenient in the morning given our number. The bed were comfortable, the employees were great, the elevators were usually quick… Overall, had a very pleasant experience and would go back.
The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful.
Incredible hotel and atmosphere! The location is great and the on-site parking rates were reasonable for the area. Attended a trade show there (not an overnight stay) and the hall was beautiful. Would definitely stay there if visiting overnight.
AHR2018 Exhibition Hotel-Hong Li Electric will participate in the AHR 2018 U. S. International HVAC, air-conditioning, refrigeration, automatic control, Air purification exhibition, Booth number: 6779, welcome friends and customers at home and abroad to visit the company's Booth Exchange Guide!
Very central, staff very friendly and habitiaciones excellent. Good things come to all sites quickly, by this my will I give for a service very good 10 points.
No more executive lounge. There's a ridiculous $10 a day. Also the breakfast was not included. Only after complaint with the front desk manager were Frühstücksguzscheine for a continental breakfast provided. All in all a nice hotel, in a good location but the service is weak.
One of the first breakfast spots where I finally had a decent dish of crepes! The set up is a bit interesting since you pay at the counter after your meal. The wait can get long but if you show up Close to opening it is not much of an issue. Staff and quick and nice. I would just recommend taking care of the silverware and glasses a bit better, I wasn’t all that confident when I initially saw them, it’s all in the details. Otherwise, great place for breakfast or brunch!
This Hilton is beautiful from the outside, magnificent from the inside. At the time of my stay, a wedding was celebrated there.
The check-in or registration area is relatively small, I had to wait quite a while.
The rooms are clean and good, however the 2 bed room with 2 bathrooms is so small that a suitcase barely has space. On the other hand, I saw a 2 bed room with a bathroom that was enormously large with great views of the Willis Tower…
So either you have bad luck and a mini room and still pays more (because of 2x bath) or you have enormous luck… therefore 1 star deduction.
For the money I expect more than to squeeze me down between bed and wall!
Staying in a historic building is great.
The history of… Hilton Hotel Chicago, USA usa. Friendship and good taste always lasts in the time Gracias Marcel.
Excellent stay. It may be an old building with great history. But, the room was updated to modern levels. It was quiet and comfortable. The people were really nice and helpful. I would stay here again.
The service was perfect and the view was amazing from our executive suite. If you want space get the king executive suite with a lakefront view, you won't be disappointed. The service among the entire staff from the valet, bellhop, front desk and cleaning staff was well received. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Maybe in the future the Conrad suite will be in my sights.
I went to lunch a very good buffet and the excellent performance. I recommend it.
We had a block of three rooms. They couldn't put us anywhere near each other. My in-laws rooms had ants, like a lot of ants. Our room was fine. But I checked my statement for my credit card last week and found that someone else had charged almost $80 to my room. How is this possible?!? They told me they would look up the receipts and sort it out and get back to me in 2-3 days. It's been a week and no contact. I'm likely going to have to dispute the charges and figure out it another way. The location is nice and the hotel has historic beauty, but it's just not worth all of this hassle.
The hotel is located very centrally, right on Michigan Ave. It was. Wry close to walk to talk the L to many Chicago attractions and landmarks like Wrigley field, Willis tower, the bean, the pier, the planetarium and more. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous with elaborate designs and features like their grand stair cases, chandeliers in the ballroom, and fountains. The rooms were spacious and clean with great views of the city. I would definitely stay here or attend events here in the future.
Excellent Hotel location.
I worked a private event at the hotel that covered multiple floors and can say that the Hilton is gorgeous. I live in the South Loop and have walked by the hotel multiple times but had never been inside — it gorgeous to say the least. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly to myself and team members. All of the rooms we used were clean and fully stocked at all times with anything we asked for. I would absolutely come back as a guest and will be referring family and friends to stay here during their next trip to Chicago.
The hotel is nice and the location was perfect. The little food/drink place in the lobby is pure robbery. I paid $19 for 2 bottles of water and a small bag of chips. The only negatives for me would be the blue light from the smoke detector that leaves a nice blue light ring on your bed while trying to sleep. The other negative for me and I guess it is a problem I should expect staying in the city is the constant horn honking and sirens… they never stop. Other than that, my experience was great.
The hotel is easy to access from main street. Interior is clean and welcoming lobby. Very open space, surprisingly they have an entire hair salon downstairs! Along with some cool anaxj shops and 2 gift shops. The pool is clean and gives you a great overlooking out to the park and lake. Room was comfortable and secure.
Although it is a very very large hotel, there is a good attention. Of course, X have so many people on occasions the rows are long.
My stay was for the night of September 3, 2017. I e-checked in and chose a room the day before on the Hilton Honors app, but my room was not even ready for me when I checked in around 4:30~5:00 pm even though check-in is at 3:00 PM. The food at the restaurants on the property was nice. Loved how they had separate elevators for different floors to make them more efficient. Having two restrooms in the room is an awesome feature that my friend and I really enjoyed. We were moved to a room with a city view, which was very nice. The beds and comforters were comfortable. My biggest issue was being woken up on 3 separate occasions in the morning, once around 7~8 AM, again at a little after 9 AM, and once more around 10 AM by housekeeping trying to knock on the door to come in to clean and prepare the room for the next guest. I would understand if it was just once, but the second and third time was definitely an annoyance. I know that they can see who is in-house in the system and who is not. Check out time is not until 11 AM. So for them to consistently come knocking was rude and unprofessional. When we checked out via their phone system. Which is VERY convenient, I noticed that a bag of linens and sheets were just sitting outside of our room door. That seemed quite unprofessional looking and a bit unsanitary. Overall, the stay was pleasant until the morning we were to check out. Location is also perfect, right across from the Buckingham Fountain.
Absolutely beautiful. Only issue was we were on the top floor so adjusting to the elevator was difficult being pregnant. Very friendly service from everyone there! Convenient location as well for a traveler!
We checked in the day before and got to pick the room. These photos are out the window of room 2112. That room is right at the front of the hotel, on Michigan Ave. You can clearly see Navy Pier and Buckingham Fountain. The room itself isn't huge. You do have a small refrigerator and a coffee maker, and a safe inside one of the nightstands. It is clean, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby of the hotel is very inviting. It still has the grandeur of days gone by. There are 14 elevators in the lobby to get the guests to each of the 2500+ guest rooms. I would go back. It is within easy walking distance of anything in Millennium or Grant Parks.
Great old hotel. Lots of grandur and very stately. Huge even by today's standards. Renovated not too long ago means fixtures in the rooms are decently modern. Walls are still a bit thin and elevators are all grouped together so it can be a bit of a walk to your room. Overall a very nice hotel and fantastic ballrooms would be an ideal location for a function or wedding.
Great location, close enough to walk to museum campus, millennium park and we walked to navy pier. The room on 21st floor is clean. The only problem was the room was 75 degrees and very warm when we arrived. We turned it down and it took a long time to cool off, it's hot outside. When housekeeping came in, they turned it back up to 75 and again, it was much too warm. We ended up having to go sit in the very crowded lobby to cool off. Otherwise a great stay.
Beautiful hotel! Staff is very friendly and helpful!
Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Great service by everyone we have encountered! Although there has been a bag of garbage and linens outside our room in the hall since we got here yesterday afternoon. Bummer.
Love it. Great facility, great location. Great conference rooms. Simply amazing.
When you walk in, you're greeted with a beautiful lobby. We checked in online and went with the mobile phone electronic key. That failed so we opted for the key card (so much for technology). The room was on the 22nd floor with required key access. Felt exclusive with that. There's a beautiful pool, two hour tubs and a nice gym. It's centrally located to everything! It was a pleasure staying here.
I stayed at a hotel across the street, but frequently used the Hilton for amenities not available in my hotel. This review will be about those amenities. The concierge was extremely helpful not only with her suggestion of where to have breakfast but providing us with her card, which allowed us a much shorter wait time at Yolk. During a bad rain storm, I decided to go to the deli inside the Hilton. A bowl of soup was $6, not bad for a Hilton hotel. The soup was really good. I also bought bandaid and snack from their sundries/souvenir shop. I expected the bandaid to cost a bit, but the snacks were more than double the cost of a convenience store. Staff was very friendly. Location, very clean.
The rooms are large, but spartan on the sixth floor. The bathroom is clean and modern, but the toilet flush is weak. You can't adjust the temperature in the room. The room temperature is set at 67 which feels a little cool (June 2016). The location is great in that it is close to museums and the El stations. The building was originally built in 1927. It has some grand features from the time period. The staff is friendly for Chicago.
The hotel lobby is beautifulbeautiful, the elevators are fast and available within seconds of calling. Location is great for the South loop area. Didn't have much need for service. Room was clean and beds comfortable, but overall room was nothing to write home about. My company paid for the room, but if it was on me, I think I could do better for the price. That said, we had no problems.
The housekeeping staff is quick and thorough. I greatly appreciate them so much. My overall experience was very good and I will recommend this hotel to my friends. The security guards posted at the elevators were overwhelming though. I was asked to put a shirt on but the five gentlemen in front of me in leather harnesses weren't asked, so I definitely felt singled out. It's overwhelming to step through a security check point to get to your hotel room.
Great hotel. Great location. Get a lake view room if you can! The executive floor is also a nice upgrade as that gets you free appetizers in the evening and breakfast in the morning as well as access to the fitness center and pool. My only problem with staying here is the parking fee which is extremely expensive. I would highly recommend walking two blocks and parking at the indoor garage at 1 E. 8th St. – it's a very clean, safe garage and the walk is not bad at all. Can't be $25 for 24 hours of parking in Chicago.
Best place to stay. But rooms may not be that great. Awesome lobby and couple of restaurants in the hotel. You won't find any good restaurants with in a half mile from hotel. Remember to ask front desk to get you a lakeview room. Otherwise you end up starring a wall outside your room. They will also charge you to keep the luggage. Best thing is just step out of the hotel and step into the park.
The Hilton hotel in Chicago is a pure beauty. The architecture is amazing with the main lobby celing being masterfully painted. The Hiltons history is amazing with it being stared in many famous movies such as the fugitive. The rooms make you fell right at home with everything you could ever need and more. The service was amazing with people willing to help you with whatever you need. I overall am very pleased with my stay at the Hilton and would recommend it.
Environmental good, the room panoramic view, price still acceptable.
If you're trying to find a really great deal on this amazing hotel I'd highly suggest booking it through the website HotelRaven. Com They have great deals for it on there! Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say! It's a couple blocks from the parks, the shopping district, and quite a few really nice restaurants. You can also see the lake from the hotel. The staff was really nice and ready to help in any way they could and the hotel itself was beautiful. It has a full gym and a pool you can do laps in and an Irish restaurant on the ground floor. It is a place you can go to and have an amazing time just in the hotel itself let alone the city.
Everything was extra. It said free Wi-Fi but it cost $13 per day. The convenience store was outrageous. The restaurants and room service cost an arm and a leg! The room was so small that my husband, daughter, and myself could barley fit! And there wasn't anything in the mini fridge. Not like we could afford it. The mini fridge was barley cool as well. I made a reservation that included parking but when I got there I had to pay an extra 56 per day! I would not return.
We did not stay here but we had a great breakfast here! Excellent food and service. Loved the Chicago, IL Eggs Benedict and the Hollander was delicious! We had the fresh fruit option with our breakfast plate. Anyway, there was such a huge crowd next door and we lucked out coming here; seated right away and a professional young man was very attentive!

Overall, a very nice hotel. Right on the south edge of downtown, close to Congress Parkway and all expressways. Surrounded by an excellent selection of restaurants and shopping. However, there is ONE major issue that alone docks off a star — the slow and unreliable internet access. You'll have better luck tethering to your smartphone and using its data connection. The price is high but understandable for such a historic hotel with such a large on-site convention center. The rooms are a bit small but nicely furnished and decorated. The staff is nice but seemed overwhelmed by the shear scale of this hotel — it IS the third largest in the city, after all, with over 2025 rooms. Parking fees are exorbitant, and internet access isn't worth a penny, even though you're charged almost $20 for the so-called "premium" access, but honestly there's so much to do in the city that you'll be spending most of your daylight hours out and about, right?
I stopped in to the bar on the north side of the building for a couple of drinks with my boyfriend. Their prices are pretty high, but then again it was a stylish place. They also served a delicious bowl of snack mix with our order, so that was really nice. There were lots of business men and women and other professionals, so being just in jeans and a sweater was a little awkward, but we were treated friendly. I also was given the bill after our first round, which surprised me as we would have probably stayed for one more round.
I stayed here for 3 nights for a work conference, from Sunday to Wednesday. My room was quite nice. Large 42" plasma and welcome center terminal, although the room itself was a bit small. The gym and pool are on the 8th floor, and the first 3 floors are mostly conference rooms. This place was absolutely packed with conference attendees while I was there, since there were 3-4 other large ones. Entire hotel has 1500 rooms. Wifi is ridiculously expensive, but luckily our company covered it. Parking is also ridiculously expensive (about $50/night), so you're better off parking in one of the many garages nearby. Food during the conference was pretty good, as was service.
Because I found out. To my husband.
Good organization but still lacks details in a matter of lack of staff to serve customers.
The Hilton Chicago is a beautiful hotel, with very nice and comfortable rooms. I was however very disappointed in the service provided. I stayed as part of a group who was in town for a convention. The staff seem to have a lot of difficulty handling a group reservation of this type. As a result a few issues arose. The most frustrating part was that when any issue was brought to the staff, a different answer was given by each staff member asked. During the course of attempting to resolve some relatively minor concerns, the staff responded with a very rude additude and short temper. I am disappointed to say that the friendly members of staff I encountered was the maid staff as I passed them in the hallway. Overall, beautiful hotel with wonderful accommodations and frustrating and unhelpful staff. Also the Wi-Fi was difficult to access and very slow.
Attended a banquet at the Hilton. The banquet facilities are beautiful and large. The staff was polite and attentive. The food served for dinner was delicious! I was very happy with my banquet experience — it seemed like the Hilton had thought of everything to make the event go off without a hitch.
Tight mediocre rooms, semi rude but more so overwhelmed staff (too many people/guests for how many people were working). It took me neaqrly half an hour just to check in since they were so understaffed. And when I cam back to the hotel after a night on the town there were thugs and gangsters with their pants around their knees stumbling around drunk all over the lobby, one was covering his eyes and running through the spinning doors and nearly hit my girlfriend. This place is a joke, I paid for a 4 star hotel and I feel like I would have had a better experience at a Holiday Inn or other chain motel.
Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Being there for a work event for several days with catering from the hotel; the organization of service for food was lacking. The hotel seemed ill prepared for the number of guests needing to be served. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Maybe it's that I'm used to the noise but it wasn't to bad. A few honking horns after 10pm, but other than that it's fairly quite with the exception of the drunk people in the halls who have no manner's. I upgraded to business class for the fridge and Wi-Fi. The room looks amazing. Found my prices on expedia well worth it while my visit to my home town. Pretty close to the United center for the hockey game. Go Hawk's. I recommend the hotel.
Everything is amazing. However, I'm having spotty to ni connect with the Wi-Fi. I've been having to use my hotspot from T-Mobile and that works just fine. Other than that the staff has been very welcoming and accommodating. The facilities are wonderful and beautiful. I'm definitely recommending this hotel to anyone heading to the Chicago area.
The accommodations were top notch, but as much as anything that impressed me was to learn some of its history. Completely fascinating! For a hotel this large, it felt really homey and warm to me. Would love a chance to stay at the Palmer House too. Chicago has SUCH a rich history!
The Hilton is a very good hotel overall. It provides outstanding service to its customers and the staff seem very happy and enthusiastic to be here. The rooms are very well kept but were smaller than I thought they would be. The lobby and the other public rooms are gorgeous and look amazing! Plus the location of the hotel is optimum for tourists. It ia very close to millinneum park and a walkable distance to the willis tower. I would totally recommended this hotel to others.
Great location! The staff was helpful and nice. Parking was over priced. We ended up parking at a garage next door on 8th street for less than half the price.
Historic Chicago hotel icon, located in the constantly evolving South Loop neighborhood. Recently re-vamped and updated. This Hilton property has high service standards and contains most any amenity desired. Great restaurants, market, store, and FedEx business center on site. Highly recommended!
Stayed here the first weekend of August and it was what you typically expect from Hilton: clean rooms, friendly service, and security during this big weekend. I will say that the room I stayed in was pretty small, and the twin bed was even small for me. It's also an older building, and you can feel that outside of the flat screen TV in the room. Restaurant buffet in the lobby was pretty good, and had a variety of food.
Decent room, was here for a convention. Was avg room and would stay again. Room wouldn't cool down past about 70 without opening the windows. Nice side note if you are gold or diamond you can check in at the excutive lounge on the 24th floor and skip the line at check in downstairs.
If any of you are looking for really good hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. This was not a very good experience for this expensive of a hotel. My husband paid well over $300 plus $55 for parking. The room was extremely small. The bed wasn't terrible, but it was not extremely comfortable. The furniture in the room was old. My main issue was the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the room. I'm not sure where it was coming from, but the whole room smelled. It was sort of a combination of locker room and unwashed clothes. This place has a lot of history and the location was great, so it was really disappointing. We only stayed for one night, and then stayed in the suburbs at a lovely, clean, modern Hilton Garden Inn which was less than half the price. I think the only thing going for this hotel is the location. If you don't mind a bit of a drive (which can really be a hassle in Chicago), stay outside the city. If we decide to stay in downtown Chicago again, it won't be here. By the way, don't forget any toiletries and such. There is a gift shop that charges about 3 times the normal price. And we loved paying $5 for three green bananas in the cafe. Overall experience — — overpriced, unimpressive.
Nice refurbished new rooms, spacious and great attentive service. A/C is a bit slow to respond, but very nice overall.
Great location and the 1920's style hotel was awesome. The best gym out if any hotel I've been to. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Beautiful view of the lake from my widow.
Very good. We went with my wife and had a great time. Good good a/c you excellent Wi-Fi and good care. All agree as promised.
Located ideally close to downtown Chicago by lake Michigan, Hilton Chicago embodied what a premium hotel should be like. Entering the front lobby it felt like I was entering an art museum. The decor was a perfect mix of the renaissance and modern material design. The rooms were spacious, and had two separate bathrooms with their own showers. The staff was nothing but professional. I would highly recommend this hotel for your temporary stay.
If any of you guys are looking for dirt cheap hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. plus $55 for parking. The room was extremely small. This hotel suck. I've stayed in alot of hotels in Chicago and this one by far is the WORST. The room was VERY small, no refrigerator, I had to call the front desk to fix the TV, the room was freezing cold and you can't control the heat, they stopping answering the phone after certain time, and the employees had no idea where anything is. I paid $350 for NOTHING. I will NEVER come here again, EVER. I am highly disappointed.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE The first floor and common areas were nice. In a good location but still pretty south of all the shopping and restaurants. However in our room (room 561) the wall paper was peeling off the walls, the bathroom fan didnt vent air out, and the drain was clogged so water would be halfway up your calf by the time you were done showering. Next time I will be staying at the westin.
Train track nearby very loud even on 13th floor, they do not know what king bed and queen bed is, elevators shake violently when coming up and down. I ended up changing the room but no improvement. They do not pick up phones when calling room service or customer service. I regret booking this hotel for $400 not worth it. Not at all worth it, regrets. Parking sucks too. Morning breakfast awful glasses smell like eggs. I asked for a half fried egg had to change it two times. They do not know how to make a soft yolk hialf fried egg. I gave up and ate hal cooked egg. No free Wi-Fi as well.

My husband and I were very excited to stay in this iconic hotel. We now wish we would have stayed anywhere else. We were here for two nights looking at places to possibly move to and wanted to stay in a nice place. The first of many issues we had was the parking. My husband has handicap accessible parking and we were wanting to use self park but the self parking garage was "full" even though we saw three or four cars leave the garage while we were basically being forced out of our car and charged 70.00 to valet park. We were rushed out so fast that my husbands I. D. Was left in the car. When he pulled the location up on his phone so we could grab the I. D. They had parked the car almost a mile away from the hotel. When inside we were greeted by a man named Jonathan at the front desk and he lowered the rate from 70.00 to the 55.00 self park rate but needed to see an I. D. And would not take mine because it was under my husbands name. Finally he let us check in by showing him many cards with my husbands name including his insurance. When we got up to our "executive room" which required a second key card to access those floors from the elevator, even though I used it twice with out and used the stairs to get to a higher floor without a problem. Our room was actually pretty nice. The only think about the room I was not a huge fan of was how dark it was all the time and there was a lack of privacy. Also the fridge in the room did not work.
They ruined my husband and my anniversary. You expect the best with the Hilton name, but they are equivalent to a motel 6 if not less. We paid for an early (noon) check in, but our room wasn't ready even though we planned more than 2 weeks ahead. We decided to give them time thinking that our room would be amazing for the $300+ we are spending. We were told we would get a call when the room was ready and our bags would be brought to our room, but never got that call even 4 hours later. Once we got a room that was to be a lake view we first had to call and have them find our bags. Then we noticed the room was so dingy it should not be available to anyone. The view was a single hung window and it was so dirty you could barely see through it. The bathroom had rusted soap shelves and Kleenex holder that used to be brass. The tub had a very bad bondo job at the bottom of the valve. The bed felt so tough and the frame rocked like it was on its last leg. The pillows were 4 tiny throw pillows that should have been on a couch, but put in a king size bed. I could not believe how filthy this room is. We decided you leave because no-one deserves this and they wouldn't refundrour money and let us leave. The lady at the front desk was so cold and unfriendly that I would have paid to leave this place. She, in the end, gave us a "junior suite" to try out after hearing the complaints that she had only excuses for.
Our hotel room had not been updated which would have been fine except the carpet had not been vacuumed when we checked in. There was a piece of popcorn, a plastic piece, and large pieces of lint on the floor. I made the best of it and figured they would vacuum when they checked the room in the am the next day. They did not vacuum when checking the room (the popcorn was still there). I made the mistake of taking my shoes off and different types of hair stuck to my feet. I called customer service and got no answer. Called housekeeping and no answer. Walked down to the desk where someone got ahold of housekeeping on the first ring and they assured someone would come vacuum "right away. " It's been 30 minutes and still no one has come to the room. Also, the outlets near the beds are in the lamps and our phone chargers would not work in them.
I loved this hotel. I stayed there for 3 nights this past week, on an executive level. The complimentary breakfast and hors d'oeuvres as well as coffee and cold beverages (only on those levels) were well done and stocked pretty well. The restaurants in the hotel that I went to were great, and the bar is fantastic. I had some issues with a snoring companion, and they did everything in their power to help me, even finding us another room to split up on the 3rd night. The bus stop is across the street and the red line stop is just a couple of blocks away. The East-facing view of the lake, Navy Pier and the gardens was breathtaking. Do not take dining suggestions from the front desk or concierge… they were all pretty bad. Ask the bartenders around the corner… they know what they're talking about. Within a one-minute walking distance, I'd recommend Mercat a la Planxa and Brasserie by LM. (We did not like Lou Malnati's and Tamarind was awful, those were the recommendations from the front desk. )
A colleague and I stayed here for business, and it was a surprisingly terrible experience. Because the reservations were made by our boss (and in his name), the front desk staff got an unbelievably holier-than-thou attitude and repeatedly told us that, despite the printed email confirmation I handed them, for "security purposes, " they could not check us in. We were told to call our boss (who was unreachable because it was 7 p. M. On a weeknight) and let the front desk talk to him, but they never would have known if we called someone other than the reservation holder and told them to pretend to be him. Finally, we asked for a manger (also exceptionally rude), who "allowed it this ONE time, " when I showed him the same email that I had printed, only on my laptop. Even if not for that whole debacle, the rooms were large but not functional or laid out well at all (mine had two twin beds and two whole bathrooms) and not exactly well-maintained, the cleaning service was sub-par (they left dirty towels and glasses in the bathroom and it was clear they barely tidied up everywhere else except the beds), the internet was an extra $13/night on top of the room charge, and the L rattled my windows every 10 minutes throughout the night.
It is a mature hotel and it shows. Very nice place, but it's missing a few amenities I was expecting. I was expecting lounging shoes and robes. Overall, the room was clean. It would be nice to have a housekeeping team to pay more attention to detail.
Nice hotel in the center of chicago city. It's a nice and a reasonable hotel. My stay at the Hilton chicago was very nice.
Room was comfortable (executive level), slept like a baby in the king-sized bed. Didn't have a view. My room looked out to another wall of room windows. Everyone was helpful and cheerful in the hotel. Loved the corned beef and cabbage at the Irish pub.
Awesome hotel! Me and my family had a great view of Lake Michigan and had a very nice room! Loved it! :D.
Just stayed here with my husband. We had an expensive, small, dark, room, with a small bed, and itchy sheets. There was scant counter space. We did have a major issue: There was something really wrong with the air quality and hvac in our room. Assume it was mold. When we were in our room, we could hardly breathe. My husband actually lost his voice completely after the first night. I used albuterol ongoing. Oddly, the air quality in the rest of the hotel was fine. Also, the breakfast buffet had lots of fresh items, but the menu for lunch and dinner does not work if you have any food allergies or need gluten-free. Overall — a very poor hotel, and not a healthy place.
Great front desk folks, nice facility and friendly staff. Went there for our 10yrs anniversary and was upgraded to a nicer room with a view of the Chicago river.
I liked the hotel — — the room was small, and I paid extra for a view. The "view" barely enabled me to see Grant Park through the 2 small windows. The room and hotel were clean. The location was nice.
My 16 year old son and I have had a great stay at the Chicago Hilton. We booked a last minute stay which included self parking, breakfast and Wi-Fi! The concierge was extremely helpful and even got us great dinner reservations on Valentines evening! Our room was adequate and having 2 bathrooms a plus. Breakfast buffet was good and self parking very easy and convenient. Overall, a really nice hotel with a good location. I would definitely stay here again! Yes it was very cold but we had an awesome weekend.
Disappointing. They don't know the difference between a Queen and King size bed. Their logic, all rooms with 1 bed are king beds. A king bed is almost 20" larger then a queen. Not hard to spot the difference. After contacting front desk during my stay, (and again after) nothing was made right. Although on the plus side of things, the nights I spent at the Blackstone across the street were exquisite. Hilton isn't what it use to be.
A great experience in a hotel with a lot of history in the city of Chicago, is very close to the Grant Park so it is the ideal choice for those who go to Lollapalooza.
The Hilton's should be ashamed to call this a hotel. The Grand Ballroom was beautiful and the front walkway was glorious. In fact I would have rather slept in those two rooms than my hotel room. The Executive Suites are garbage. The in room computer doesn't work, the direct TV is fuzzy, the wireless only works in the lobby, and the only way to order room service is from the computer which doesn't work. I've stayed at many hotels in Chicago and even the La Quinta Inn has better amenities than this dumpster fire of a hotel. This will be my first and last time staying here. Next time I have a conference at the Hilton I am staying at the Congress Hotel.
Like any hotel in this area of Chicago, it's expensive. I was staying here for a conference at McCormick place. There were shuttles that I would take in the morning, but in the evening I would walk back the 1.6 miles; it's through pleasant, safe areas with lots of restaurants to stop at for dinner. For past conferences in Chicago, I've stayed at the Congress Plaza Hotel, which is cheaper but shows its age everywhere you look; maintenance there is hit-or-miss. The Hilton, too, is old, but many of the rooms have been renovated in a tasteful fashion. (Not to my taste; I live in a house that was built as a home and architect's studio for one of Frank Lloyd Wright's student; we are slowly repairing and renovating, and it's filled with Stickley furniture. The Grand Californian at Disneyland is more my style. ) I stayed on the 9th floor, and my room had a real thermometer, quiet fan, and was clean and neat. The hotel was pretty full so I think I got a nicer room than I had paid for; it was in a corner, with a refrigerator and lots and lots of room. If you look carefully, you can see a bit of peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, and a few scrapes on the paint on the bathroom door, betraying the underlying age of the building. But overall the experience is excellent.
Perfect, excellent location.
As a diamond member on Hilton for a few years, normally I get an email to review my stay but I didn't this time so I had to come here to warn other Hilton members to stay away. This is honestly the first Hilton property (Hampton inn included) that has not been satisfactory in over 150 stays the last 3 years. The property was not very clean, the beds were small and not comfortable, their idea of an executive lounge was a joke. The service was not up to Hilton standards. No fridge in the room, views were not very good. Honestly I was embarrassed because I booked the place for my family and I and told them it would be great because of the reviews I had read and because of the Hilton brand. I would recommend staying just about anywhere else in the city. I once had to stay at a days inn near wrigleyville because of a last second issue and it was even nicer than this hotel. I will never return to this Hilton and was very disappointed.
The 1927 historic hotel looks great on the inside and outside. The high speed elevators are original and very cool. On the 21st floor, I had a good view of the Metra and CTA trains out my window. The room was good and clean. The service was excellent-so excellent that I left a tip for the housekeeping lady. Overall, the hotel has many attractions that you can simply walk to like Navy Pier, Union Station, Sears Tower, Oak Beach, and Buckingham Fountain. Bad reviews should probably be disregarded.
No free Wi-Fi : (
perfet location very central
great view.
Excellent attention.
friendly attention is very good, service to the former was excellent, the food in the restaurant is very good.
Another thing that I like is shuttle having toward the University of chicago that facilitated me too my stay in this city.
offers a continental breakfast.
More than a review and a memo to Mr. Robert Pellegrini, I wrote it long ago and I thought it was so courteous at least of an answer but so it was not, I believed its history on TV and its attachment to Italy but evidently they were all false — I dared trop Bit disturbing a powerful but so goes the world — sorry for the trouble — good things — Tango Raffaele.

Mostly great. Fitness center is amazing, even has a 3 lane lap pool! Only thing I thought was weird is that a standard room has two tiny full bathrooms, rather than just one regular size bathroom. Consider a remodel and combine the two small bathrooms into one bigger bath. A hotel room that sleeps for doesn't need to toilets and two tubs.
