Staff was very rude! I was over charged $140. The last room I was in, didn’t have a refrigerator. I was told that they would deduct money due to not having a refrigerator, because I had food that needed refrigerated (that never happened). Rooms weren’t that clean. Everything was dusty! Definitely not worth the money!

Room is big with two double bed. Maid service is great. Make sure you make a reservation for breakfast in their restaurant. We had none and was told 30-40 minute wait. Will text you when ready. Well we are still waiting four hours later.

What a wonderful place to have a work summit! The staff is amazing! Jackie is the best bartender! She was “just doing her job” but she helped make our stay even more enjoyable! Nick in the banquet rooms went above and beyond every meal! If you get to interact with either, they will make your day!

This is the best experience I've had with a hotel thus far. My girlfriend and I were given a newly renovated room with and a city view. Offers military discount. Porch is an excellent feature. Staff are wonderful, accomodating and personable. Coming back for my next stay in Louisville.

Staying here for a professional event. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Conference spaces were good. Staff was very accommodating. Catering was excellent. Only downfall was that construction was ongoing. It would have been nice if they delayed or moved construction to a different area for a few days for a group of 250 people.

I visited Louisville Marriott Downtown for my 30 year high school reunion. The atmosphere was great, the food prepared for our reunion dinner was delicious and the room we stayed in was clean. Overall, it was a great time and experience. I expected to see a complimentary continental style breakfast for the amount of money we spent on our room. I suppose you can't have it all.

Beautiful hotel in a very convenient part of the city. The staff have all been very friendly. The room is gorgeous and clean. The restaurant in the hotel provided excellent service and the food was delicious! The one surprise given how nice the hotel was, was the cheap printer that was low on ink. It's also the only computer available. This was after hours so perhaps there's a better option during the business day. It wasn't enough to ruin the trip, just a minor surprised l given how nice the rest of the hotel was. If I'm ever back here, this will be my hotel of choice.

This hotel has a beautiful presence and friendly staff. Steven in the concierge lounge was EXTREMELY generous while eating breakfast with my children. He offered several suggestions as to where we could venture during our stay. This was extremely helpful as we are not from this state. His kind words and wit left us ready to explore the beauty of Kentucky. Our only suggestion is to make the beds a little bigger. They are very comfortable but for two adults it makes it a little difficult to get a full nights sleep. Felt more like a twin bed rather than a double.

We came in late at night and were greeted with courtesy, and the clerk worked with us to try and get us the best rate. Which was above and beyond, because we were tired and would've paid just about anything lol.
Room was very clean and very comfy-the shower had great pressure, which is big for me. It was such a good experience, we found another one the next night in Bowling Green. I'm a Courtyard fan.

Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and great food/drinks at The Porch. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in the area.

Amazing guest service!

While I visited Louisville, I stayed in a suite at the downtown Marriott. The furniture in the suite, with the exception of the bedroom is very dated and over used. The couch was sunken in. It's not what I would expect from a Marriott. However, the bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and the shower flow was awesome. The maids didn't clean the room until the day before checkout, even though we requested it several times. Overall, it was a decent stay and the staff were friendly.

Everything was great except the pillows. They were terrible! Blew my mind since everything else was top notch.

I have stayed here several times before writing this review. Staff: Nice and polite. If you want an upgrade, ask the front desk staff during check in. Lobby: It was recently remodeled and is beautiful. Rooms: Good and clean. They are on the older side but they are in the process of remodeling them for the next few months. Room Service: I like the food from the restaurant downstairs (The Porch) and the room service menu had some of those items. However, the room service food that I ordered was not good. I ordered the tuna poke salad, quinoa vegetable chili, and lean green juice. Do not order those. The Porch has a better menu and food.

The hotel is very nice looks like the are doing some light remodeling. The porch restaurant had pretty good food. Had a king room. End unit two windows good views. Some things were disappointing. 1. No full length mirror in room. 2. No easy access to microwave should be in the room. 3. The room would not get cool enough for us.

Very lovely hotel! The staff are very courteous and helpful. It has a nice size swimming pool, but the posted rules seem a bit absurd. You can't swim alone. Only 5 people are allowed in the pool at a time. I'm not sure if this is a hotel rule, city ordinance, or a state law. I haven't asked for clarification yet. There is a nice size gym with lots of equipment for you to use, along with bottles of water and a bowl of fruit too. There is a nice patio to sit out on. My only complaint on the patio is after they lock the door, your room key will not open it, so you have to walk around to the main doors.

My family stayed her for Thunder Over Louisville. Overall is was a positive experience. They are currently completing some remodeling. The staff was very nice and helpful, the hotel itself is in a great location. I would definitely stay here again if I had a need downtown.

Great location: easy to get to from the highway/airport but also within walking distance of most downtown attractions. The rooms were relatively modern and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was pretty good as well. I'll be staying here again.

The room was clean and very nice. Because there was construction we got a letter that we didn't have water but I guess that happened when we weren't in the room because our water was working when we were in the room, though we did not have shampoo in our room and when we asked for it they didn't send us any. There was another event going on when we were there so they were probably really busy but none the less that's not how you run a business. Other than those issues it was a pleasant stay.

Property looks to be recently renovated, still some work to do on the lobby, but very nice. 2nd floor ballrooms for conference are very nice, although temperature regulation could be improved. Great lounge and work areas near the conference rooms. Spacious bathrooms. Very close to downtown attractions and nightlife. Convenient parking and an excellent restaurant and bar. Overall, excellent hotel!

This hotel was ok! I was recently there for my daughters dance competition. The staff was wonderful. I can’t say enough about how nice everyone was. The rooms were nice. I did have a few complaints. There was not a hot tub as pictured and the pool was less than desirable. There was what looks to be maybe rust through out the bottom. My daughter stayed in all of 5 min and didn’t want to be in it any more. They are doing construction in areas so maybe they will get to it. Then all of about midnight I am startled awake by a woman’s screams. Yep you guessed it the frolicking could be heard for almost an hour! For the price I paid to spend the night I would have thought that it would have been a bit more up to date.

We ate at the newly renovated restaurant. The food was top notch. The southern fried chicken was very unique, crisp skin and moist inside. Outstanding! Love the trendy and lively atmosphere too.

We stayed here this past weekend and the hotel was okay. There was no free breakfast, so we had to go too Starbucks downstairs to get breakfast and a coffee. Which we had to wait an hour for becasue they were super busy and must of had some conventions going on there at the time, they were out of a lot of coffee. There were some "renovations" going on, so it was kind of loud and didn't really get much sleep that night. I am a Travel Agent so it could have been a lot better for the price I payed for staying here, when you pay for something you expect it to be better service. So maybe once there done remodeling you will have a better stay then we did.

This hotel is huge and have a Starbucks located on the property. I attended an annual meeting here and the meeting rooms were very nice. The food was good for breakfast and lunch but dinner was not good at all. My entire table was not pleased. The rooms were laid out nicely and spacious. The air here is very dry, one us us woke up with a nose bleed and another with a dry sore throat and no voice. Staff throughout the hotel was very helpful.

This hotel (once inside) is quite beautiful and the staff is possibly the NICEST and most HELPFUL we have ever experienced. Also, the cleanliness is off the charts, though the room size was smaller than expected. I am insulted to have to pay to park at a hotel of this calibre and with the parking situation as a whole. Also, to go from my car to my room I had to take an elevator, walk a distance, take another elevator and then finally get there. I don't like the "front desk" being hidden in a room that seemed to have nothing to do with an entry hall. It was more like a dining room that had to suddenly become more than it could. The food in the hotel is quite pricey and the selection is disappointing. But, the people are great. They were all so glad to help when needed. If the layout were different it would have the very highest rating.

Very disappointed. Stayed here to attend a wedding. My precious jewellery was with me in the room but offcourse had to leave for events during the day and night. My diamond ring is missing the day I left the hotel and I am pretty sure I left it in the bathroom. I have been calling the lost and found department and they keep telling me they will call back after checking lost and found but they don't call back. Sometime the staff tell me there is no one at lost and found department at the moment and call again. After so many days of trying to get a hold of them the staff told me they didn't find anything. Very disappointing.

The Marriott in Downtown Louisville is a wonderful hotel. It is located just minutes away from many of Louisville's most popular attractions, which provides guests with easy access to great food, entertainment, and history. The rooms are clean, modern, and promote a comfortable stay. The service we received from all employees was exemplary. We will be returning in the near future.

I came here for a Christian Conference, and the hotel was a great venue. The ballrooms we met it were clean and classy. The hotel is very close to restaurants downtown, and the rooms were typical, but nice. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating for our group.

Very nice hotel. The lobby is large and bright. The staff at the Downtown Marriott are friendly and extremely helpful. The bar is open and inviting, with good service. A Starbucks is located within the hotel but has limited hours. The restaurant while being listed as Italian, changed to American. The salads and meals enjoyed by my friends and myself were exceptional. Service was very good and the meal was fairly priced.

5th year staying here for a convention. The staff is always fantastic. The hotel seems to be undergoing a much needed renovation and the usual restaurant/bar downstairs is currently closed. A full sized Starbucks is conveniently located in the lobby with a line gathered every morning. Awesome workout facilities. The parking garage is a bit narrow and always full. All in all it is always a good experience for us.

An older Marriott undergoing a refresh. Not bad, but not stellar. Older fixtures in rooms. Decor is a bit tired. Great staff; very friendly and helpful. Full-sized Starbucks in the lobby, but slow service. Meeting rooms were fine, and food at our conference was excellent. Ask for a view of the river and the Yum! Center… the backside of the hotel does not look out over anything pleasant other than a building with Diane Sawyer's face on a banner and an Omni they are building next door.

We were put here for free since the Hyatt next door was overbooked, so we didn't pay for the night. There was nothing wrong with the hotel, though the rooms did seem to be a bit dated. The shower was great. However, I don't think it was worth what a room would normally cost. The Hyatt was much cheaper and had, in my opinion, better rooms.

Let me just get something off my chest first. I made two consecutive reservations because I was coming into town for a conference but the discounted rate was not available on the first night of my arrival. So me — being my normal thrifty self booked one night for the non-conference night (which was higher) and the next two nights at the conference rate. I check in and they combined my reservation at the higher rate and made me prove that I had the cheaper rate booked before they lowered it back. Uhmm Ms. Marriott … didn't you have my reservation to begin with? YOU know I had a cheaper rate. That was tacky and greedy. So for that lack of customer service alone — you get 3 stars taken. Oh yeah the rooms were nothing spectacular but they were nice. First impression sucked so I'm being petty.

First the good: the public areas were beautiful and well maintained, and our room was spacious and very clean. Now the bad. The bartenders in the lobby bar made pretty poor cocktails. The TV remote in our room didn't work, and the phone didn't work. Neither was ever fixed after a call to the front desk. The phone not working meant we couldn't call the valet ahead of time so we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes each time we needed our car. I tried using the Marriott app to request our car from valet since the phone didn't work, but the valet service aparrently doesn't use the app. Lastly, the shower draining in the room above us was so loud it woke us up every night we were there. Overall it is a nice hotel, but doesn't quite live up to the excellent level of service we've always experienced at Marriott hotels.

Water stains on the ceiling in the lobby, corrosion on the lights and stuff in the bathroom. Drywall repairs everywhere that were mostly left unpainted. Comforter was dirty as hell… but overall I've seen worse. I recommend saving your money and going to the courtyard marriott instead. Cheaper and about the same overall quality in my opinion.

Front desk people are friendly, but hotel overall is not a facility I'd ever recommend. The meeting facilities were raucous behind the scenes with crashing, loud voices and what sounded like furniture being loudly moved behind the walls by the employees, making it difficult to hold a meeting without interruptions. It was impossible to get the only restaurant on site on the phone for a room order. Finally, I was overcharged for my stay by over $200. The amount was never presented at checkout and was an unpleasant surprise days later. It's impossible to get anyone on the phone to explain these charges, you're forced to deal with voicemail only. "Hands off" isn't a bad business approach when everything goes smoothly, but it's evident that Marriott's "Hands off" approach is a symptom of a much larger problem at this hotel, and I would never recommend this facility to anyone for meeting space or overnight stay.

Hotel is very clean and nice. Lots of fancy decor and special touches. Check-in was very easy and the man at the desk was helpful. Beds are comfortable. No exhaust in bathrooms, water gets VERY HOT.

Clean rooms the staff was great. I've downgraded my rating after staying here again this year. Staff is not friendly or helpful at all. All I needed was an extra hour and half so I wasn't out wondering aimlessly but they couldn't accommodate me. Very very sad! I mean I was told "there are no late checkouts" really? So you must have hundreds of cleaning ladies waiting to go into every room at exactly 11am? Really? That's ok though I will not be back to this hotel. I come to Louisville at least twice a year. Keep your options open people. Plenty of hotels in the city willing to help their visitors. I left my original comment from last year, first sentence.

Well. My cousin visiting from Seattle Washington and I was picking her up. That's why I was there. She did say that great food services that they even had salmon. A large portion.

Sunday evening's (August 13, 2017) front desk staff (including "Jared" and "Justin") was far from helpful. The hot tub was not working and my son cut his foot on one of the several sharp, unattached tiles on the hot tub floor. I called the front desk and was told that an engineer would be up to fix the hot tub. An engineer never came. I went to the front desk to inquire and was told, "Somebody should have come up there by now. " That was it. When I waited to see what action they would take, they just stared blankly at me. When I went back this morning to check if repairs had been made, there was yellow tape on the entrance and an out of order sign. However, there were 6 or 7 people sitting in the jet — less hot tub.

It is definitely a great clean stay. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. You will not be disappointed!

Bar was very pleasent. I had the Salmon. In the restaurant. Best I've had. Friend had Pork Chop and said it was good. Bed were really nice. Made my friends back better the next day.

Being centralized in downtown Louisville you have many opportunities for enjoyment especially the food court on fourth street live two blocks away. The service of the hotel is above expectations and all requests have been granted in an adequate time. The room are of excellent size necessary and beds are incredibly comfortable.

The hotel was beautiful all around, and the service was outstanding. We had a comfortable and cozy room on the 6th floor and it was wonderful. We were staying at the Marriott during a SUPER busy time (Lads to Leaders Conference), and yet the front desk personnel, manager, and even the Housekeeping staff all bent over backwards to meet our needs. We ate at the Restaurant, which had fast and attentive service, plus the food was delicious. We swam in the pool, which we found refreshing, especially the whirlpool hot tub. Five Stars… AMAZING weekend in Louisville! Thank you, Marriott, for the memories! Fantastic experience… recommend this hotel to all!

Don't come here. Expensive, but nothing special. Find somewhere else if you want a nice experienve. No breakfast, no evening reception. Not even a Happy Hour. House keeping didn't get to my room until 6pm. Sirens outside all night. Homeless people on the street as soon as you step outside. The front desk people are nice, housekeepers are nice and did a good job. My window looked out on a tarpaper roof. I could have found a much nicer place for the $1, 000 I paid to stay here.

The hotel is pretty good, some minor details like the conference doors can't stay open because the lock on tip is broken but the staff is pretty frie dly. Rooms are great, clean and nice except the lamp in the middle which is lacking a power jack.

One of the best hotels in Downtown Louisville. I have stayed and worked at most of the prominent hotels and this is one you can trust. Rooms are clean, catering is very detailed and focused on quality and consistency, and the conference rooms are excellent. Highly recommended.

This is a really nice hotel… probably my favorite one in Louisville. It tends to draw an older business crowd, which is great if you want to return to a place quieter than the Seelbach would be. Oddly enough though the bar gets filled with a good vibe early in the night before people head out. Being further away from Fourth Street has it's own advantages and disadvantages. I only have to take off one star because the first time I was there, they gave me a key to a previous checked in room. Nothing like walking in on sleeping people!

Experienced the Blu room breakfast buffet with omelette bar and I really enjoyed it.

There is plenty of food near by. The beds in the hotel is one of the most comfortable I have slept in. The hotel staff has been very helpful and has high customer service. I love how the convention is connected to the hotel!

The facilities themselves are nice but the bathroom lacks a fan and the shower pressure is too strong. The location is convinient because there is a skybridge connecting it to the Kentucky International Convention Center and is right next to 4th Street Live.

TV lost signal constantly. Wifi was utter garbage. Shower sounded, literally, like a helicopter taking off at a distance and had terrible pressure. Sirens interrupted my sleep approximately once an hour. Very friendly people behind the front desk though.

It was beautifully set up. The front foyer was magnificent, and the colors complemented each other all throughout. The staff was well dressed, dignified, and very helpful. I enjoyed it, even though I was only there briefly.

Nice clean hotel, couple of nice Bars to socaluce in… Sports bar is nice and cozy. We only had appetizers, but the ones we got were good.

As other reviews have stated — the billing department is a mess at this hotel. I was in town for a conference with a fellow co-worker last weekend. The stay was fine, decent room and location. The problem came with billing. I had pre-paid two rooms (one for me and one for my co-worker). The person at the front desk said he needed a credit card for incidentals only because the room was prepaid. I asked him to verify the credit card I used to prepay and he did correctly. Come to find out, he charged my co-workers card for his room — not the credit card I had used to pre-pay. I have tried calling several times over several days to get this rectified. I am always transfered to accounting where I have been instructed to leave a message because they never can take my phone call. I have left messages and have called the hotel multiple times to no avail. Now, my co-worker overdrafted his account and has fees associated with Marriott's mistake. Have stayed in a lot of different hotels for work and have never had a problem. We will not be staying here again.

Great hotel in what turned out to be a fun city. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Staff was great. I highly recommend.

Was there for a conference. Good downtown location, lots of shops and restaurants to walk to. Staff very attentive and friendly. Good selection of local craft beers in Champions. Only thing I didn't like was the cabs — they were very shady on where they were going and what they charge you. Even if the meter was running they would tell you higher price (there are 4 people in the cab, it's xx amount more). And cash only, say they don't have cash. We started using Uber after 2nd cab ride. Super friendly drivers, clean well kept cars. I'll never take a cab again if possible, even if it's summoned by hotel staff.

Possibly one of the best hotel experiences I've had, ever. We walked in and the hotel smelled fresh and clean, and the front desk attendant was very kind and accommodating, putting us in a suite on the 16th floor. The room was great, no complaints there. Beautiful reviews of the river and surrounding buildings. The bathroom was clean and modern and everything worked properly. Room service, even late at night was quick and it tasted great. My favorite part was probably the exercise room. It offered a great selection of workout equipment and plenty of treadmills to run on, as well as elypticals. There was even a bowl of fresh fruit (which was great), cooled towels and water bottles. Great hotel stay, and not to mention it is very close to all Downtown Louisville has to offer.

While the motel was nice, the billing has been an absolute pain in the ass. We used a credit card for incidentals when we checked in. My mother who was staying in adjacent room payed for our room as a gift. So when we checked out, we had a balance of $0. Since then we have been charged over $1, 800 from "accounting errors". This has taken numerous calls with multiple different people, and left voice messages multiple times with the finance department, none of which have been returned. We are now proceeding to the State Police to pursue fraud charges against this hotel. Avoid at all costs.

Stayed here for a conference 4 days April 2015. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. One of the cleanest most pleasant hotel experiences I have ever had. Great location (just dont get this one confused with the 4 other Marriott locations nearby), convenient to local restaurants, bars. Short walk to riverfront. Blu restaurant on site was also very good, everything you need breakfast-dinner-bar. Can't say enough about how excellent my stay was. Thank you, Marriott. I will definitely be back.

Great location, amenities and staff.

I stayed here during a company conference, and overall it was a very positive experience. However, I am writing this review because my positive experience with the Louisville Marriott Downtown continued well past checkout! After arriving at the airport around ~8:30 pm, I realized I had left my cell phone in the taxi that brought us from the hotel. I called the hotel valet with a coworker’s phone to find out which taxi company brought us so I could report the phone missing, or if the taxi would potentially return to the hotel after dropping us off. Luckily, the taxi returned to the Marriott and the valet, Wes, got my phone. Without hesitation, Wes raced to the airport to return my phone to me before my flight. Unfortunately, there was another time constraint at play. The TSA security line in Louisville was scheduled to close promptly at 9 pm that evening. They shut the machines down and close the security gate, so no one (and nothing — even a cell phone! ) is allowed through after 9 pm. Even after pleading/begging them to stay open a few minutes longer, and telling them that my phone was on its way, they refused to keep the line open because they didn’t get paid overtime for it. They were incredibly cold and unaccommodating and in stark contrast of how Wes was treating the situation (with urgency and respect! ).

Very nice relaxing and unique place and press together it very hamable recommend it.

Nice hotel and convenient location. Nothing to complain about except for the fact that the Internet was around $14 a day, slow, and in this day and age why is this even priced still? Also breakfast could be a bit cheaper. But the added pool and workout room are a nice touch. Knocked it down an additional star after check out because it turns out they charge you for self parking as well, $22. They tried to charge me for both valet and self parking.

I always stay here on my business trips to Louisville. The rooms are open, airy and newly remodeled. The location is convenient to all the hot spots downtown. Champion's Bar also has really good drinks and lots of TVs for watching U of L (or UK! ) games.

For the price per room of this hotel, I would have expected more. No free Wi-Fi except on the 1st and 2nd floors. The rooms were comfortable and the mini-fridge was a nice bonus. I liked the fact that there are 6 VERY quick elevators. Not sure why hotel patrons should have to pay $17 for breakfast. Again, this is something I would have expected as gratuitous or discounted price. My money would be better spent at a Holiday Inn express which offers the same features with free internet and a free breakfast. The walls between the rooms seemed to be thin as I could hear conversations next door.
