Reviews of Hotel Indigo Atlanta Midtown, an IHG Hotel 3*
Great location for shows at the Fox.
Such a fun place and friendly staff! Especially Kimberly at the bar/room service!
Hotel Indigo Midtown in ATL was fabulous! The staff was incredible-helpful and friendly! The room was so clean. The bathroom was small but nice! The hotel was the first hotel in 1925 to have bathrooms in each room hence why the bathrooms are small! It was an awesome find and when in ATL that is where we will stay for sure.
DO NOT stay at these hotels. They charged us three times for our one night stay. Miraculously, they can’t see where we were overcharged! Customer service is useless. We have to dispute the charges at our bank. Total rip-off!
Loving our stay here … the rooms are lovely, however the bathrooms are extremely small. The staff are amazing & very helpful, friendly with great senses of humour.
Wonderful place to stay, staff will bend over backwards to help you and the history of the hotel is so interesting. We only stayed for one night but I couldn't complain about anything except the size of the bathroom and that is part of the nostalgia that makes it so interesting.
Lovely boutique hotel in midtown. Our check in experience was very pleasant, and room service was quick and tasty. Fun, unusual decor and furnishings with lots of nods to Atlanta’s music history.
I returned to my room after working all day only to be greeted by security telling me they didn’t have a reservation for me. They had packed all of my belongings up in white plastic bags and they had already checked someone else into my room.
Rooms feel very European (small) but not an issue if you're not planning on spending all your time inside. Historic building that's been converted so sound carries pretty badly. Try to get a room in the back side of the hotel so you don't get the noise from the street at night. Bed was ridiculously high and could pose problems for short or elderly. Small but well equipped fitness room. Location is fantastic, plenty to walk to.
I wanted to give this place 5 stars. It’s trendy, clean and unique. However, as mentioned by others, the bathrooms are very small. And my blow dryer didn’t work. And more of a personal preference, but I wasn’t a fan of the thin sheets.
I've stayed twice this past year and have had a wonderful experience both times. The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are small, but that's not a problem for me as they are well equipped with towels and toiletries. Will definately be returning.
Decided to stay here because a friend and I were attending a show at The Fox. It's a historical building so it's full of charm. The lounge areas are spacious and modern. The rooms are on the smaller side because of renovation limitations (historical building remember? ) So I wouldn't recommend traveling with a lot of luggage or kids. It's cozy and perfect for 2 people and 2-3 pieces of luggage.
This is a great hotel in a good location. The giant beds (very high and quite a climb up) were super comfortable and the rooms have some character and thoroughly cleaned every day. It was good to see well-behaved pets staying there. The service was impeccable, with the receptionist greeting me by name every morning. I didn't give it five stars as they could improve the tea and coffee making facilities and reduce single-use plastic. I feel that disposable cups and filter holders are completely unnecessary.
Great location. Perfect mattress. Wonderful staff. VERY pet-friendly. We're going back.
Due to an issue on their end — verified by our credit card company — our credit card was declined 15 minutes before we walked in after traveling 4.5 hours. They explained they had overbooked and would not provide us a room, as they had cancelled ours. We have never experienced this issue at any of the other Indigo locations we have stayed at, and I'm simply floored. It's Memorial Day weekend. We were left without a room. As season passholders for the Fox (the entire reason we are here), we are not recommending this hotel for future visits, nor will I be recommending it to my professional associates. To say I'm irate would be an understatement.

To say I'm irate would be an understatement. Updated on May 29th, 2018: confirmed with our credit card company our card should have processed properly. We have been loyalty members since 2015 and repeat patrons of this location in 2018, as well as had future reservations for the 2018 Fox season; however, due to the issues experienced, we've cancelled future reservations at this location.
Great location! Rooms are tight but all other amenities just as good as any hotel. Sound from staff and other guests does carry though the walls, though.
Stopped by for drinks after work and I liked the quirky interior design. The bartender really knew what he was doing because the drinks were smooth. The prices were average for a hotel bar. I would definitely visit again and maybe have a glass of wine on the patio.
This is a 2 star hotel at best! Lobby stinks of smoke, patio was covered in trash. Staff was unprofessional. Rooms are small, floors are dirty, bathroom is tiny, water pressure is a drizzle.
Loved the theme of the hotel. The rooms were comfortable in their boutique style. This hotel has the ideal mix of character and modern amenities.
Very Beautiful and Nice Place to Rest and Relax. The staff was very professional and friendly. I really enjoyed myself. I'll be back very soon.
Came to Atlanta for a week long business trip. Corporate booked the reservation and used business credit card to pay for room. Called ahead of time to request a credit card authorization form to be sent to my Vice President to complete for incidentals and the front desk girl, who was very dismissive, said they dont use those types of forms and when checking in, you must have a physical credit card to present for all incidentals. Called IHG to assist and they stated that because this was a local franchise, they couldn’t “force” them to use those forms. When I came to check in later in the afternoon, the front desk supervisor stated that he needed a credit card not only for incidentals but for room charges TOO. He stated that he couldn’t charge for room on the credit card that was used to book the reservation. I asked him what would happen if I cancelled right now. He said that the credit card on file would be charged for one night. So tell me, you can bill the credit card used to reserve the room for a cancellation fee but not for the stay? Not left with much choice, I gave him my personal cc. Then he proceeds to have me sign the hotel agreement and guess what cc they had for settlement billing? Yup, my corporate office cc. I pointed it out to him and he quickly corrected it to reflect my personal card, no apologies no explanations. Can’t wait to see my bill at check out based on some of these reviews.
Nice hotel, great staff! Bryan is an amazing bartender! Rooms are a bit small but. Is to be expected in downtown Atlanta.
Customer service stinks~tried to cancel a prepaid room due to an emergency and they would not compromise! STAY AWAY!
The front desk team seems to obsess over the small bathrooms in their rooms. I honestly would not have thought it to be too big of an issue until they brought it up. The hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to a decent amount of restaurants. Great overall service as well. The bartenders were busy, but always we're on the lookout for those needing assistance.
Nice hotel, no complaints about the stay or the service. They have a parking deck right behind the hotel. Didn't expect it to be $25 a day. I'm not used the city parking so that price definitely caught me off guard.
The hotel was fine. The bathroom was absurdly small, but other than that it was OK. The problem came with the bill. They made multiple errors and even charged someone else’s charges on my account. After spending hours on the phone with them, they weren’t willing to do anything to make it better. They kept handing me off to different people who acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about — nice tactic, Hotel Indigo. I’ll never be back!
The bar and restaurant is bar far one of the best experienced that I've come across in Atlanta to date. Also if you have any trouble with finding the bar or need to know about things going on in the area Brad at the front desk will help you out. He's certainly a breath of fresh air.
This hotel and it's front desk staff are so horrible and unprofessional that I would rather sleep in a tree than deal with them again! They lost our reservation then found it for a week later. After having to quickly find another hotel to stay at, we tried to call the next day to double check that the reservation that was booked on the wrong date was cancelled, they refused to cancel it. Then we tried to get the managers name and the male front desk clerk refused to give his name (his name is Gaylen after some research) or the managers name and hung up on me. Called back 3 additional times and his co-workers refused to give his name. Finally had to call their corp office and had a lady named Jennifer help out and get the situation straightened out. For a hotel of this caliber and location they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves of how they treat customers! I've had better customer service at Motel 6 than this hotel! I can assure you that I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, yes it's that bad! Spend your money and time at a place that appreciates your business!
Passing through Atlanta for a couple days we stayed at HI Midtown. We loved the midtown vibe, very walk able and laid back. This hotel is more of a boutique historic hotel so the bathrooms are small but overall an amazing experience. Galen at check-in was very courteous and informative. When we checked out we left our pillows and realized the next night we did not have them. We stopped back by on Sunday and Michael and Dori were quick to retrieve them not showing any inconvenience even though they were busy. I have worked in hospitality for almost 20 years. Great staff and culture for HI Midtown. Thank you guys!
The customer service at this place has got to be the worst. Absolutely no acknowledgement when you walk through the door. The staff is rude with attitudes. The rooms are not the cleanest and their grounds are embarrassing. I will never stay at this location nor do I recommend it. It's unfortunate because this use to be one of my favorite places to stay in Atlanta. Something must have happened with the ownership or previous management. Cheaper is definitely not better in this case.
A historic property that has been updated with mixed modern and vintage-like pieces. The bathrooms are tiny — I was warned ahead of time — but usable. The showers are large; about the footprint of a modern bathtub. The room was reasonably quiet given that it is in midtown Atlanta among other very tall buildings and near the Georgia Tech campus. The football stadium was a 15 minute walk from the hotel and the engineering buildings were slightly farther of a walk. It also within a block or so of the MARTA North Avenue train station. The time from exiting the plane to the hotel was just over an hour using the train and walking as much as possible.
My girlfriend and I came to Atlanta for the Midtown Music Festival this past weekend. We booked a room at the Indigo midtown due to its proximity to the festival, the different options of dining choices within walking distance and its ratings. We both agreed that we were not at all impressed with this Indigo location at all. The staff was clumsy, unhelpful and all seemed to be "training". The rooms are very small and the bathrooms barely have enough room to move, there is no counter space to speak of and the bathroom lacks a fan to keep the mirror from fogging. Not to mention that paint was peeling from the trim in the bathroom and the sink did not drain properly. None of the rooms have refrigerators and there are no ice machines in the whole building, ice can be picked up at the front desk, which is ridiculous. Our room was not cleaned once in our 3 night stay except for when we specifically called to ask for it and I can't say we were exactly ecstatic with the outcome. There is a mandatory $25 a day fee to park on hotel grounds which is absurd. I do have to say that on a positive note the bistro and bar in the lobby served fantastic food and the bartender was extremely kind. Although we could not bring our leftover food back to our room due to the lack of refrigeration. Compared to other Indigo locations, this one is a disgrace. For the price, you'd expect much better than a road side motel experience.
Beautiful lobby and friendly, awesome staff. However, the room was small. If you're going to the fox theatre, the location can't be beat. However, if you don't mind a walk, there are cheaper and bigger rooms nearby. Edit: Lovely management response made me bump up my review. :)
Nice location. The bar is good, well stocked. Bartender was excellent! Breakfast menu was good. Front desk staff were very friendly. Lots of outside food options and things to do. Parking is not free just FYI. Rooms are a little on the small side but still comfortable. My room was clean I was more concerned about that. The restroom was tiny and hard to get around in. Still it served it's purpose. Overall if I could I would give them a 4.6. They also had lots of common space so if you wanted to hang out you could.
Hotel is decorated beautifully and staff was pleasant. It is nicely located near shopping, food, transportation and the highways. However the rooms were smaller than expected. Especially the bathroom where, as my coworker put it, "You can sit on the toilet and wash your hands in the sink at the same time. " It doesn't have space to turn around in. Also, there wasn't a mini refrigerator in the rooms. Oh, and it's $25 per night to park a car.
Nice hotel, rooms were small, but I didn't need a second home only a place to sleep for the night. The bed was comfortable and pillows we're generous. Some of the painting is sloppy, especially around the sink. I expect that kind of stuff in a day's in. My biggest complaint is that they did not tell me I would be paying $25 per night for parking when I asked where I needed to park. I understand that it may not be their parking garage, but please be up front about parking. It would have been a huge surprise if I had stayed more than 1 night. $25/night is a LOT of money. I would have parked my car elsewhere. Please tell your guests that parking is $25/night when they're checking in.
Rooms are okay. Bed is pretty decent. Location is good. Hotel was quiet. Staff was very courteous. Booked on hotwire so for the price we paid it was just fine. Rooms are small.
Never written a review before, but I was just passing through on a 3 day drive to my duty station in Texas. Had a rough day with my car breaking down for good and having to rent one. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, I explained my situation, and they cut me a break and set me up with a room despite me coming in at 11:30 on a Friday. Room was clean and cozy. If I ever come back to Atlanta, this hotel will be my first choice.
Wonderful experience! Warm welcome from staff. Beautiful historic building decorated well. Room was lovely. Yes, small bathroom but they had an area set up for coffee station with great console table that had countertop for makeup with great mirror and lighting. I was lucky to get corner room, will always request one. View out window while having to do work was nice. Breakfast was great, and the staff was so accommodating with the timing of my meeting. This meeting is quarterly now and Hotel Indigo will always be where I stay!
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo just for one night. We were seeing a show at the fox. Check in was a breeze and the employees were so nice and helpful. We stayed on the 12th floor in a corner room overlooking the Fox. The rooms are quite small, but I think it added to the charm. Rooms were very clean and comfy. We loved our stay and would recommend Indigo.
Small closet like bathrooms, with hardly enough floor to walk around if you get a two bed room. Also anytime we called for ice, it would take forever and no one would come up. So we would just have to go get it our self, and the front desk would act as if we didn't just call for ice. Also there was no fridge in our room at all, or microwave. It's just an expensive box to be honest. Also I was only two minutes late for leaving the parking deck by 12, because a guy in front of me was having a hard time with the ticket reader not taking his card, and I was charged $14 more dollars as a late fee.
Wonderful staff. Very helpful and friendly. Nice location across from the Fox theater. Sighing walking distance of awesome restaurants, night life and convenience stores. I feel safe. Nice historic building. Clean rooms. They're just small. Bathrooms especially.
The location is perfect. Close to many cafes and restaurants. The hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help with suggestions of places to visit. The hotel is in a building de1925 and the rooms and decor store elements of the time. The rooms are small but equipped with everything needed. The hotel has no parking, but offers an option to usd 25 per day in a parking lot just behind it. This includes outputs and multiple inputs.
The staff were very friendly, room service was very good but the room was very small and the bath room was the size of a broom closet, if you were not careful you would knock your self out with no room between the sink and toilet. They said they were renovating which was obvious but something has to be done with the bathroom size. I would stay there again for the location and how nice the staff were.
The rooms are not big but they are clean and well kept. Comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower, helpful staff and generally clean rooms so it checks all the major boxes. I would stay again if in the area.
Hotel Indigo qas a great place to stay! The facilities were great, and the services were phenomenal! We caught a very good deal, and we were able to stay at the hotel for a cost efficient price. I definitely recommend this hotel anyone staying in the area!
My room smells like mildew and is making me not feel well. I can't find the source of it either. Also the hotel gym is the worst I have ever seen. And I've seen a lot. It's like someone brought their personal dumbells they weren't using anymore. It's in a small room that was converted into the fitness room. Not a big fan. Also the hotel has no refrigerators OR microwaves. So as someone who travels for a living and packs my own food (because I'm a fitness trainer/athlete) I am really disappointed. Thanks for making me sick and not letting me keep my food fresh, and eat the food I packed. Bathrooms are tiny and there are an awful lot of other people's hair here. Again — the smell in my room is bothering the hell out of me as I write this and my throat is burning. Smells like feet that have been in wet shoes for days. Stay elsewhere.
A beautiful property. Friendly staff. Neo classic decor with a hip modern flavor. The bathroom was small and the steam from the shower set off the smoke detector, but overall it was great for my brief visit.
I've been to small hotels before, but I felt like I was using the shower to use the bathroom. The room was tiny. The floors were not swept. The front desk was not friendly. Also, they tried to charge me twice. (Once with a third Party booking, and on my card for incidentals. ) I only recommend this place if you are Harry Potter in the first book. Used to sleeping in a closet & mistreated. It might be nice if you are a refugee. Certainly not worth how much I paid. Also, thin walls!
Cute, smallish rooms, but boutique feel. Beds are comfortable, check in easy. Parking is in the Georgian Terrace garage, but unlimited in and outs so make it worth the $25/day.
Booked a room for the wrong night on accident I went to review my confirmation of room and realized it was for the wrong night and backed out 5 mins later I received a email for my confirmation, so I called the hotel they told me to call Priceline I did I talked to Aya she said to call the hotel I called the hotel spoke to Michael he said it was up to Priceline called Priceline back talked to Sara she said it was up to the hotel I called the hotel spoke to James he said call u back in 30 mins he had to talk to a supervisor he called me back and they couldn't do anything all I was asking for was for them to move the reservation not cancel! I have never stayed at this hotel before we have no choice now but to go stay tonight or loose out on $180 so we are on our way there but we will never stay there again. So much for customer service!
This hotel was so noisy. The elevator was extremely loud and we didn't sleep at all. The rooms are nice, although the bathroom is small, super small. Overall nice hotel but the old elevator noises made my stay the worse ever. On top of that I was charge $50 for an unknown fee at this time. Still working to resolve this. I probable will not be staying here again.
Not your average, boring hotel! The funky, concert theme in the lobby continue us through the the hallways and into the guest rooms. Check in was very quick and easy. The front desk called shortly after we got into the room to make sure we were happy. This is a older, renovated building so the rooms may be small by some standards but the modern decor and excellent views (the historic Fox Theater is right across the way) make it seem roomy. The bathroom is a bit small but very modern. We thoroughly enjoyed a drink in the bar as well as a delicious breakfast in the cafe. The entire staff was very helpful and pleasant. The price was excellent for the type of hotel and location, with several bars and eateries nearby. We look forward to returning!
This hotel provides a horrible experience. They overcharged my account twice without authorization. They did not provide room service for 2 days despite my asking the front desk clerk for it. They only give 2 towels. Every sales person, manager and clerk I spoke with had an attitude and no sense of respect for the customer. Their front desk line rang for 30 minutes before some one decided to pick it up. In our first room the A/C unit was in pieces with tools all over the room. Our second room had 2 lamps without working bulbs in them.
First, received wrong room. Staff seemed frazzled and untrained. Room was dirty/grubby. Bathroom awful — smallest I've ever seen in a hotel. Bed was cheap and hard, as was everything else in the room. Hardly "boutique". Would never stay here again.
Rooms are small especially the bathroom. Breakfast was very good each of the 3 days we are here. Dinner on the other hand not so good.
Great location, nice staff. Rooms are on the small side, but perfectly adequate. Breakfast service is consistently slow, so give yourself extra time. Would recommend.
Good looking lobby with retro-modern furniture. Breakfast is a joke. Rooms are ok, with a wallpaper of a concert scene behind the bed.
The rooms are smaller because its an older building and they add bathrooms so that took space. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. The rooms were clean and housekeeping did a great job.
The hotel is nice, but it is older. Therefore the bathrooms are small. The decor is great and the rooms are large. The hotel staff is very friendly.
Historic hotel recently renovated, has a very classy look to it. Clean and well kept. Rooms are small but to be expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. Reasonable priced, I would recommend.
Shouldn't even give it any stars horrible place PERIOD! To work and to stay I would never stay or eat there a waste of your money! They can't even pay their employees on time or correctly kitchen is disgusting They should just shut it down.
Great location, great bar, great great great. Close to everything, the staff is very nice and its one of my favourite places to go for a staycation.
Nice clean rooms with friendly service. Had a great stay. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable.
I would give them zero stars if I could. We made a reservation and drove 10 hours to get to this hotel to arrive and have them tell me my reservation was cancelled. They asked for a credit card to hold the room and stated it would only be ran if the reservation was cancelled then sent me a confirmation for my room which I had presented upon arriving. The "front desk manager" with the WORST customer service I've ever seen. He bashed the reservation department by saying they were quote "giving false information and have no authority to run cards they can't be trusted. " I asked why I wasn't called and why my card was even ran when when I was told it wouldn't be they said they called me and showed me a log for a number that was different then the one associated with my reservation. I tried to book a room but they were full and had no desire to help me after I'd made a scene in the hotel lobby and called the manager out on his lies. I'd taken the Marta into the city so I was stranded with no where else to go trying to find a hotel at 8pm on a Saturday night. Ended up having to pay for a taxi cab to the westin 10 minutes away and give them 5 stars for their customer service and rooms. If your thinking hotel indigo, think again unless you want to be treated like dirt.
Rooms are clean but small. Bathroom beyond dinky. Bar and restaurant expensive, average and HORRIBLE service. Not to mention the pig at the end of tje bar dropping the F bomb and fawning over the cougar next to him. Go elsewhere. As fast as you can. Did I mention the crappy bartender throwing heavy bottles in the garbage five feet from me.
Hotel staff was kind and receptive. Need to have clear sign instructions to check into the hotel first before going into the parking garage.
We thought this hotel was lovely. We went to see "Phantom of the Opera" at the Fox on Halloween, and this hotel was a great place to stay. It was directly across the street from the theatre and near several nice restaurants. I understand people say the rooms are small. Compared to some hotels, that's certainly true. However, the building is historic — built in 1923 — and has been neatly retrofitted. The space has been well used — a small wardrobe, storage in the TV cabinet, and a useful shelf at the entry for purses, bags, and charging phones. The beds were comfortable. With 5 different electronics going, we had no problems charging our devices. The shower was roomy, even if the space between the toilet and sink was cozy. We had a nice breakfast the next morning, and all the staff were excellent. IF I had to complain about 2 things, one could be easily fixed, the other — not so much. The self-serve for-pay coffee machine in the lobby was terrible — it dispensed something pretty foul for $3.50. So, skip the machine and get coffee elsewhere (we were grabbing an extra cup for the road). The other thing I think made the room feel smaller than needed was the wallpaper behind the bed — dark and didn't match the room at all. (I understand they were trying to capture a 'theatre' theme — but skip that and replace the dark wallpaper with a brighter color, modern pattern next time you refurbish). Other than that — no complaints.
Great staff, fantastic location, decent food, good offers, nice queen bed, and yes I would go back. Shot walk to MARTHA station. The bathroom was small, but the awkward part of it is in the placing of the toilet and washbasin, but the shower was great. I can live with that. They were even able to accommodate a late check-out. Did I mention the staff is great (front desk, housekeeping and restaurant).
The hotel's location is great, if you want to stay in Midtown. The renovations to the hotel are nice, beds are comfy, fresh look. However, bathrooms are very tiny. Smallest I've ever seen. This is because of the historic building. Besides that, the reason for the rating is because of the parking and the bar. The parking garage is shared with the Georgian and the Fox. It's very crowded and no valet available. Also, the bar closes before midnight.
This Hotel Indigo was the first Hotel Indigo ever. It's right across the street from the Fox and the hotel's lobby reflects this. All around the hotel, you'll notice the neighborhood charm it tries to embody with things like a mural of ticket stubs from previous shows at the Fox. In the room, Hotel Indigo's trademark murals reflect the artistic neighborhood of Midtown. I hear that each floor has a different picture, but am not 100% on this. The staff is great. I mentioned to the staff that the sink in the bathroom had great water pressure (so much in so water flew out of the sink), but the staff noted that it needed to be fixed and they immediately went to go address the problem. The staff will go out of the way to help you. Since this hotel is actually a historic building dating from the 1920's, you can expect for the rooms to be rather tiny. The bathroom is definitely small, but for the price point, I can live with not being to do jumping jacks inside my bathroom. This is definitely a good hotel to try if you're looking to watch a show at the Fox and really capture the essence of Midtown Atlanta.
