Great location on Lake Dora beautiful cool break rooms great balcony view proximity to restaurants and bars it within walking distance Lots to do see plane rides paddle boat cruise kayak and paddleboard rental and beautiful Mount Dora right down the road.

This is a great place. Minutes away from Renningers Flea Market and My Dora without the traffic. Beautiful views of Lake Dora. Nice restaurants to eat nearby.

Words can not express just how beautiful and laid back this area is. Its a must come for yourself experience.

My husband reserved a room for the night and it was our first time staying here and it was to celebrate my 50th birthday and we had a great visit and we will definitely be back since it's a nice short drive and get away for a night or 2!

Great view of the lake! Nicely done Christmas lights through town! thoughtful room layout! Very clean! could use some tiki torches with citronella around the pool due to mosquitoes. Otherwise very modern cool light changing in the pool! and it looks like the rooms all can be joined if you have a big group! definitely returning again!

We loved our stay at Key West Resort. The room was very clean & spacious with fantastic views of the lake. Really enjoyed sitting out on our balcony watching the sea planes taking off & landing. The property was very well maintained, and situated in the quaint town of Tavares. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

We found the desk staff (Steve on Saturday, Devon on Sunday) to be warm, welcoming, friendly and very helpful — 2 great guys. Room was clean and spacious with and excellent view and comfy beds. Nice big pool. A lot of midges though.

The first thing that hits you as you enter the main hotel (there are 3 buildings) and building 2 is the smell. Musky, damp odor. Its very pungent and one wonders why they do not put up something to least mask the rotten smell. Same with the elevator. The elevator has a musty smell. The room was great. Very large. High ceilings and tremendous view of the lake and pool. The people are extremely nice that work here. The restaurant people brought our food and drinks to the pool which was great. The food was very good. Check in and out are very easy. Lots of parking. Pretty area.
My only complaints were the complimentary breakfast at a nasty place called Buster Tubbs that had horrible service and very rude employees. Also upset that when I complained to the manager she lied to me and said no Hotel guest ever had a problem at Buster Tubbs. When you go on Yelp or Facebook that is all you see is complaints about how horrible the complementary breakfast is at Buster Tubbs. Service is horrible, rude and everything we experienced, If the owner is smart they will end the relationship with Buster Tubbs. My only other complaint is that the room never really cooled off. I think its the very high ceilings but it took two days before it became cool in the room.

Love, love love this place. Great rooms. Walking distance to great bars and restaurants. Awesome pool! very pet friendly. We stay several times a year!

We loved our Home away from Home, The Hotel is very clean and well kept. The room was very spacious and our bed super comfortable. The Restaurant that they recommend to us for breakfast was very good. The staff super nice and friendly and our view breathtaking! We want to come back for sure soon.

There are 3 buildings and we stayed in building 1. Entrance is a little sketchy. Entrance is in the back and it's not that clean. If you see the baggage cart at the building you check in at, then the cart at building # 1 you'll see what building they care more about. It's crazy the difference. There is roof access you get up there they have fake grass laid out with a couple of cement blocks, that hold down part of the fake grass. Unmaintainted plants / dead ones and some old chairs. The room is clean but needs some staging. This is an older building and you can hear all doors shut and open from other rooms. It's a huge room but so empty, no coach just an older chair and just one. With that said there is really no were to sit other than on the bed. One of the side tables was broken / beaten up. TV is decent size but there are only like 10 channels. There is breakfast included but it's at a different location (food better than the room). There is a balcony and it is spacious. The 2 chairs out there are stained though.

Hotel rooms are big and pretty empty. Tiny TV on a huge wall and very little furniture. Dead bugs were found in a few places and the end tables were damaged and water stained/bubbled. The mirror frames were severely cracked and possibly just glued back together. Bathroom grout was black and gross and the balcony chairs were badly stained. There is a musty old smell in the room. The location is pretty good and close to bars and restaurants and the view of the lake was very nice.

The hotel seems unfinished and the front desk staff stay on their personal laptops and phones 90% of the time. They even seem bothered at times when you ask them questions. The lake is beautiful. Rooms are hit or miss. I've started here 3 times at the same rate each time and same room requirements but have gotten 3 different room layouts that are not equal in the slightest. The breakfast deal is good if you have time to sit down and eat, but its not the fastest place so you can't grab something quick if you're in a hurry. It seems to be improving with the construction, and could be much better if the front desk staff weren't on their personal devices all of the time.

Property and room was ok. Breakfast was included. Unfortunately when we arrived, the bathroom was dirty. Toilet was not clean and still had remenits of whomever used it before us and shower was dirty and overall bathroom was unsatisfactory. You're off of the lake so there's a lot of bugs around and in the rooms too. The area around the hotel is a bit noisy also. It would of been nice to have some black out curtains on the windows because the sheer curtains didn't block out any light and made it hard to sleep. Overall I don't think we'd stay here again. There's a lot of things I can get over but a dirty toilet and shower was not one of them.

Great atmosphere, attended a wedding here and found the entire area very inviting. The room was very large and open, the balcony was a pleasure to have. Could make some coffee and sit out and do some serious people watching for hours.

It was nice, there was a lot of road construction in between all the buildings which made things difficult while checking in and out. The area is beautiful around it but there really isn't a lot around, the jail is nearby and most of the shopping space around is taken up by bail bonds and related stuff. But let's face it most of the people coming here are for weddings and it's great for the nearby venues with plenty of choices for food and drinks within stumbling distance. The only thing that I would suggest is see if they can get the whole wedding party in one building as we ended up stretched across all the buildings and Florida isn't exactly know for being cool.

Orig built as condos but now a hotel. 3 bldgs. Nice lakeviews. Good prices. Large rooms.

Looks newly remodeled and nicely done! However, the devil is in the details… The walls, ceilings and floors are NOT insulated. A vibrating and audio of a cell phone alarm could be heard in the room below and talking can be heard in next room. There's a railroad track between the hotel and the lake… the train comes by tooting and screeching at 1:30 every morning — and it WILL wake you. There's no work out room but the Y is 5 minutes away. On the up side, the rooms are fantastic. They just needed insulation.

We have stayed here twice now. It is a contemporary hotel, well maintained and clean. The rooms are basic but very nice, and you can't beat the lake view. Pet friendly and within an easy walk to nearby bars and restaurants.

Great view from the roof. Nicely redone rooms. Large suites available with two bedrooms and full kitchen.

We just had the best wedding experience. On the roof top, wedding and reception were beautiful. The hotel staff was great and accommodating. The only thing I didnt like is that we were assigned rooms in different buildings, but it worked out fine.

I was not am overnight guest but rather a guest at a wedding on the roof deck! The place we beautiful from what I saw. Seems old but I will definitely try this as a mini family getaway!

Beautiful balcony views. Very reasonable prices. Delicious free breakfast across the street. You need the room key on you at all times in order to use the elevator or else you can't access it. Overall great place to stay. Within walking distance of the venue I got married in.

They still have some work to go renovating after hurricane Irma. The rooms are long with an awkward layout and no furniture. There are no blackout curtains yet. In fact, decor is lacking in general. Water tastes terrible — bring some bottles. On the plus side, each of the three buildings is a short walk to the beach. It is a great location near a park and nearby bars and restaurants, and a short drive to historic Mt Dora. Beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. Still some work to go but not a bad choice if you're looking for a weekend getaway.

Clean and huge rooms. Great location. Everything seems new. Breakfast was included in a small establishment right behind the hotel, new construction around the hotel brings early morning noise and no black out curtains. What's construction is done this will be a very nice place to stay at.

We were here for a wedding. Awesome hotel, which appears to be remodeled recently. Centrally located to everything, you can walk walk everywhere. I really hope I have other friends get married here.

Started out as a pleasant experience however the walls in the "resort" are paper thin and you can hear everything including someone using the bathroom! Then since the "resort" is in the supposed "entertainment" district of Tavares the one lake bar they have was blasting music well into 1:15. Had to call the police dept to come shut them up! ' The bar is allowed to stay open till 2 but the music is supposed to stop by midnight (which they did not) Clearly this is not a place where you want to stay and get a good nights sleep. This evening has turned my opinion sour. I definitely will not ever stay here again. I would not recommend it to others.

Very nice hotel and great customer service. We stayed here for a friend's wedding and we're very happy. Breakfast and parking is also included. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Stayed here because it was right by my best friends wedding venue and I was in the wedding. Limited options in the area so the entire wedding party got rooms here. This “resort” is overpriced and definitely not a resort. They look like tiny studio apartments turned hotel rooms. The floors were dirty and the rooms smelled like mildew. Definitely wouldn’t stay here ever again.

Beautiful view, the pool was great. Even went swimming in October. I thought the changing colors of the pool water was so pretty at night. I enjoyed watching the sea planes taking off and landing was fun. The staff was nice. It's in walking distance to a lot of neat places. But make sure to keep your balcony doors shut because of the little black flying bugs. They don't bite but they're everywhere.

This is definitely not a resort. One of the worst hotels I've ever been in especially for the price. The whole place smells awful. I opened up the window several times attempting to air it out. The table in our room had mold growing on top. Very disapointed.

Beautiful location right on the lake with an amazing view. Plenty of dining and drink options available in short walking distance. The rooms were spacious and clean with extremely large common areas. This is a great spot and I will look forward to staying here again the next time I am in town.

Would have given it 5 stars but there were a lot of mosquitos in the room. According to housekeeping that is due to the balcony door being opened but the door wasn’t even open. Aside from that, nice hotel, nice pool area. Not much to do around the area though.

Clean rooms but very industrial feel. Location and very met our needs. Hotel staff accommodated our room change. We could hear every noise in the rooms next to us and outside.

The resort was beautiful but the staff was incompetent and lacked basic courtesies you would expect when renting a space from them. We booked 2 rooftops from them. One of the rooftops was damaged so they pushed us to an inside area. After having booked 4 months in advance with them, without any problems, we were excited to get married here. The night before the big day, we were told we were not allowed to do any setting up and they were reluctant and difficult to work with. My wife's room, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready, didn't have hot water and had mold on the ceiling. After getting a late check out approved they attempted to kick me and my groomsmen out of our rooms at normal checkout times. They charged us for tables and chairs the night before our wedding without any previous mention they wouldn't be providing them. I would not recommend this to anyone, and I would advise you to avoid this Resort for any event like the plague.

My wife and I had our wedding here. The view was beautiful but the services at the hotel were horrid. They would not allow us to decorate the night before the wedding. They attempted to kick us out of our rooms. 2 weeks prior we had a late check out approved. The day of the wedding we were badgered by hotel staff to check out. After paying for 2 venues at the hotel and requesting tables and chairs we thought everything would be paid. The day before the wedding we were informed they were charging us for table and chair rentals when it had never been mentioned before. The rooms had mold on the ceiling and around the a/c vents. Our wedding was still special but made very stressful by this incompetent staff and there lack of communication with us.

It is not a high end place but comfortable and the location was nice. They are working in the area but I liked it. The breakfast was great, portions were large and the food was appealing the eye and tasteful. The staff at the restaurant and hotel were very nice. I did have to kill a spider or 2, they should add screen doors to all balcony's. I would recommend and stay there again.

Great big rooms, most have views of the lake. 2nd time staying here. Would be perfect for wedding parties as most of the rooms are all conjoined as well as balconies.

Nice hotel located near restaurants and the lake. Once you check-in you really don't have to leave. The rooms are nice quality and uses the old school key, so make sure you don't lose it.

I really thought the hotel was beautiful and well kept. My issues arised from the refusal to meet our need for close rooms, despite booking 4 months ago and being told our request would at least be met on the same floor, if not adjoining rooms. We attended for a wedding with my 85 year old grandfather and his room was in a different building. Despite his attempts to be self sufficient, he is unable to get around or take care of himself on his own. They said they were booked for 2 weddings, yet we checked in on Thursday with multiple vacant rooms, in each building. Even guests at our wedding who checked in early Friday commented saying they wouldn't have noticed if they were in a different building. Overall, we had a very difficult time that might have been easier having been closer to my grandfather, who just was there to attend his grandson's wedding.

I booked the room as a Father's Day getaway for the wife and I. We eat regularly at Tiki West so we were familiar with the area and the hotel but had never stayed there. We both were very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and general "look" of the room, the balcony overlooking the lake was a bonus. We sat outside listening to live music from one of the nearby restaurants until it was time for bed. The next day we brought 2 of our grandson's to play in the pool and found the staff very helpful and courteous. All and all a great experience we will repeat.

This place is Fair at best. Though it is brand new and the rooms and the view is amazing, the accommodations are not. First room they put us in didn't have a deadbolt lock or door catch, when I requested a new room because as a smaller young woman I just wouldn't feel safe without it, I was told it didn't matter anyways and it wasn't worth it. This I did not really appreciate, as you can't put a price on the safety that I feel. The next room I was put in, was lovely, but there was no way to turn on the bathroom fan or light over the shower so I showered in a half lit room, and the shower ended up leaking water all over the bathroom floor. Lastly there was no way for me to adjust the temperature of the room, so I was freezing the whole night, it was some of the worst sleep I have gotten in quite some time with the pillows being rather lack luster as well. I also couldn't happen but to note that no other reviews mentioned that it is three buildings, not connected and on different blocks. With only one office and breakfast is not even in the resort, it is at a restaurant up the street. You have to leave the Resort for everything. Then when we went to check out no one was available to check us out, we were left just standing in the lobby calling someone on the phone who was less then helpful. When I think of convenient this place just did not hit the mark. I was expecting a different level of service and I was quite let down by my stay.

Rooms were clean, newly renovated, front side of the building has no view. The rear has a gorgeous view of the lake.

My husband has MS. When I booked the accommodations for my nephew's wedding, I requested a handicap room. Unfortunately, it was not quite what was needed. When we approached the management with our concerns, they made it right and added the necessary equipment. Nice room, great staff, beautiful view, delicious breakfast in a convenient location — you can't do better.

Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Nice furniture. No light-dampening curtains, very bright in the morning.

Had a huge room and balcony overlooking the lake. Was in Tavares on business at the courthouse, which I walked to from the hotel in about two minutes. Breakfast was very good, served at a restaurant, Al's, across the street. Many restaurants and bars right there, in, and next to, the hotel, so it's nice to not have to get in the car and drive after a long day. I'm at the courthouse frequently, so I'm sure I'll stay again.
