This hotel is now a Comfort Inn and Suites. It is in a good location, right across the Florida Waterman Hospital. The front desk staff was super nice, but seemed to have walked into a chaotic situation left behind by the previous shift worker. So we got a wrong key, and walked into someone else's room. But the situation was quickly rectified. The room was spacious, but smelled very musty. The sheets just didn't feel dry and cool, but rather sticky and smelly. There were constant thumping coming through the walls all night. We had an uncomfortable and sleepless night. We stayed in this location in December when it was a Best Western Plus. And that was a decent experience. The same property, under Comfort Inn seems to have deteriorated in quality.

Clean, redone lately, stylish lobby. Lovely people, good location. Not special or unique.

Clean, large room with plenty of space to put suitcases. Room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Loved it. Great rooms, breakfast was great.

Location is central, good value for the price, friendly staff and clean rooms.

I had negotiated a good rate so I feel I got what I paid for. Only three stars, lose 1/2 for parking as the area can not safely accommodate oversize vehicles and 1 for room cleanliness, behind and alongside the nightstands needed vacuuming, 1/2 for the breakfast bar content.

F. Desk staff could use a bit more training. This was our 3rd work related stay this year and if it wasn't for the front desk's lack of professionalism, we would highly recommend. Clean rooms. Nice breakfasts. Won't be back.

Beautiful hotel. The lobby and breakfast area are well decorated and comfortable. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfy. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, the amenities were great. Beautiful downstairs and guest room. Housekeeping staff and dining staff at breakfast were just wonderful. The check-in experience was lacking and too an enormous amount of time with only one person on a Saturday evening. I've worked in management prior; a manager should have come in if the hotel was short staffed to help. Also, the evening check in person did not appear to have the same knowledge as the am staff I had spoken to that same day about being able to use the business center to print the tickets there rather than stopping at FedEx on the way. I attend an event in the area each November. I liked the hotel but the check in experience and being unable to use the business center may impact whether I choose to stay there for those two weekends next year.

Nice rooms, very comfortable bed. Only problem I had was there was a musty smell in the room. They switched my room and it was much better. Breakfast was very nice.

We chose to stay at this location because we were impressed by it the last time we stayed, a few years ago. Sorry to say this was not as good. It took about 1/2 hour to check in, in the early afternoon, while the desk clerk worked to resolve a problem another guest had with their reservation. It would have helped if she had some help. The shower walls in the bathtub could use a thorough scrubbing, and also the shower curtain had a tear which could have been mended or replaced. Beds were comfortable with a supply of comfortable pillows, not all the over stuffed version that seems to be today's rage. A very nice breakfast selection.

I felt the staff were courteous and very friendly. The room was comfortable. Great internet. Full breakfast which was very nice. Will stay here again.

Rooms were not properly stocked with items. Head skulls lights didn't work tile was falling off the wall. Then there's a huge ugly gas on the inside of the room on the door leading to the outside of the room that looked as if somebody just filled it in with whatever they had and didn't even try to make it look good. If they would actually take the time and try to keep the rooms put together and and more presentable this hotel would be great. I notify the front desk of the fact that there was no shampoo only half the towels and the tile that had fallen off the wall and they seem not to care.

Extremely clean. Super nice help. Wonderful free breakfast. Big selection. Safe building. But, in our room our bed was uncomfortable. We felt springs. Otherwise it has a refrig and micro. Free parking. Beautiful lobby and rooms.

Stayed for a week while starting a new job and waiting on my a apartment to be ready. Had a great stay overall. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the location was close to a number of places. Would definitely recommend staying here. Only suggestions would be to add cut fresh fruit to breakfast and a change machine to the laundry room. Overall it was a comfortable and very pleasant stay!

Our stay at this hotel was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. We were there for a wedding so we had a large group. The rooms were clean the breakfast was great. A good all round experience.

I'm not too sure about the shopping around this location because we're only there to attend a party, but Wal-Mart isn't too far away, maybe 10 minutes. The room itself was nice and pretty big, we were in a king suite. Relatives of mine were also staying there and they had a standard room which was a basic room but it was clean and had a fridge and microwave. In the suite we stayed in had a pull out couch which fit 3 kids (8-10). The couch itself was horrible to sit on, very rough to the touch but we just put a blanket over it. The bed in our suite was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and I liked that it had a sink in the actual bathroom as well as one right outside the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was very strong. Front desk service was great. My only complaint is regarding the woman who was cleaning up constantly during breakfast. She was very rude and made it seem as if people were in her way. My fiance was by the waffle maker and she was literally wiping crumbs in his direction to the point where they got on his shoes. When he said something to her she shrugged her shoulders and continued what he was doing. He stepped aside to let her finish and she threw his waffle she just watched him make in the garbage can. When he asked her about it she said you walked away and then went back into the kitchen. I could see her and 2 other woman in the kitchen and she was pointing at him and laughing. Completely unprofessional and just plain rude.

Very nice hotel. Staff was awesome and the hotel was quite. I had 2 of my coworkers move to this hotel from another Best western they were staying at because of how nice it is!

It was a perfect stop for the night and we had a dog friendly room that smelled great! No dog urine or wet dog smell at all! The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was just perfect to get up and on the road again.

Probably the best place to stay in Tavares. All staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast included a few hot items which was nice. The building was in good shape.

The place was wonderful. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff went out of their way to help.

We had a fantastic stay here. We booked the room with a travel site and there was an issue with the reservation that was the site's fault, not the hotel, but the staff here upgraded us to the closest room which turned out to be a blessing. I was traveling with my two week old neice and their very exhausted new parents on a 600 mile trip to meet the grandparents. This hotel was probably the only reason we were able to keep our sanity. The upgraded room included a pull out couch which allowed me to be an extra hand helping with the baby's care. There was a large fridge for bottles and food, the kitchen was great for frequent bottle cleaning, the hot water came out quick for warming bottles and there was plenty of room and lots of wall plugs for the baby's automatic rocking sleeper. It was like an apartment away from home and was about the same price per night as another local hotel where we were originally reserved but canceled due to the quality and cleanliness of the room. The staff here helped me to pack up a few plates to bring up to the exhausted parents for breakfast, and provided much needed bottles of cold water for my sister free of charge. We really can't express how much this hotel positively impacted this family's first road trip with their new baby.

Excellent place to stay. Rates competitive with the area. Property is very well maintained. Staff couldn't be more attentive.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The breakfast was great with all you can eat available. Quick and easy check-in. Even got an upgrade to a king suite. Rooms nice and clean. We always stay at Best Western when we come to Eustis for our church conventions. See you again in October. Can't wait.

Housekeeper stole money from my wallet. I went down for breakfast and accidentally left my wallet out on the counter. I came back upstairs and the cash was missing from my wallet. I had 2 five dollar bills in it that we're now gone. I informed the front desk and she said she would talk to her manager and that it never happened before. Eventually she gave me 10 dollars from the front desk but I never received a call from the manager to apologize. Very disappointed in management here. Will not be staying in best western as they're staff cannot be trusted. Breakfast was the only good part about the place. Good waffles.

Nice, clean hotel. Loved the decor. But the pool closes at 7 — which is strangely early, the staff was unfriendly, and the breakfast wasn't that great.

Bathroom was loaded with black mold. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Door has faulty locks. There was nothing that could be judged better than average.

Allowed us to check in early and were very cooperative. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We've stayed several times.

Had an HOA meeting here. Conference room was nice.

I enjoyed the stay. The staff was nice and the breakfast was decent. The room was clean but caused me to sneeze a bit due most likely to some dust from either the curtains or air conditioning. I am highly susceptible to dust in foreign environments. Otherwise, a great night stay.

I was only there for a quick encounter, but it was very nice.

9/2015 — I liked the lobby and the staff was okay. Otherwise my room has a 2" cockroach and mouse turds all over the bathroom towels and floor. The front desk gave me a key to check out another room and as I looked around I moved the curtain and a lizard went crawling. 2nd floor so gross.

Best hotel we've stayed at! Very comfortable beds, no bedbugs, we stayed in the queen suite which was perfect for two adults and three kids. The fridge is nice and cold, the breakfast was exceptional, eggs and sausage, oatmeal with a few toppings, cereal, fruit, yogurt, a Belgian waffle maker, danishes, muffins, different kinds of toast, milk, apple/orange juice, water, one day they had biscuits and gravy too! There's coffee in the lobby 24/7, and usually oatmeal cookies. Everyone who works there is super nice, and you can't beat the price with the AAA discount. If you're looking for a great thing to do, visit Kelly park about 28 min away, and float through the natural spring. You can rent tubes right outside the park. We'll definitely be staying at this hotel next time we visit Tavares.

We stayed there from Jan 31, 2015 to Feb 4, 2015. There were friendly staff. Room was clean. Breakfast was not special but good with low quality plastic tableware and dishes. The area was quite and relaxing.

Worst experience yet with any hotel anywhere, anytime and haven't even stayed there yet. We booked a room for a child's baseball tournament but the location changed and we tried to cancel the room to avoid the 45 minute ride to the fields. Not only would the management not budge on cancelling our room but they hiked the rates for other families who were a day or two later than us in registering more than $40.00 a day. Now our team has to be separated by 45 minutes or we have to throw away $160. Bad business. Baseball families travelling to this area should avoid this hotel like the plague! I will avoid all Best Westerns unless I have no other choice.

Disappointed. Had no Wi-Fi for business use in room. I was told owner was trying to repair! Other minor things not up to par.

4 Nov 2011 — $63/night. Room 202 – King, no-smoking. The hotel has 79 rooms. Check in/out was smooth. The hotel is clean and appears to be maintained. The lobby is spacious with a nice waterfall. The room was large with ample space for luggage, but only desk space for one computer, not that you could use it. The room was clean without any smells or stains and very quiet. Some mold in the shower. Basic tub/shower with a decent showerhead, but the shower curtain was quite short. No towel bars in the bathroom, not even for the hand towel. Once again the hotel would like for you to reuse towels to conserve water if you are staying for multiple days but does not provide a place to hang them. I guess towel bars are too expensive. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Wi-Fi is not available in the rooms, Ethernet does not work in the rooms, the only advice the desk clerk could give was to bring my computer to the lobby where there is Wi-Fi. Not acceptable. The hot tub by the pool was not working. Breakfast was good. Coffee, juice, eggs, sausage, pancakes, simple breads and bagels, cereal. The breakfast area was well tended and there was plenty of seating. I would stay here again if they get the lack of internet in the rooms resolved.

EXCELLENT room, and an even better price! I would've expected to pay $110+ for the room I got, but it was only $70, so that was not bad at all! Didn't try the breakfast, but the room and bathroom were great. A newer shower head would be nice though, as the one in the bathroom isn't great. Overall highly recommended.

We made a reservation to stay September 16 – 19. At the time that we made the reservation our plans were tentative and we asked about reservation cancellation policy. We were told to cancel 24 hours prior to 6 pm on the planned date of arrival. We attempted to cancel this reservation on September 15th at 3:45 pm EDT. I was told that the reservation was locked into the computer and could not be altered. I stated the reservation cancellation policy to this male (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) and he merely responded with the ridiculous statement that the reservation had been locked into the computer at 3 pm and that nothing could be done. From a management standpoint, it is ludicrous that software would be designed that would lock users out of a reservation file; this doesn’t pass the laugh test. We subsequently altered our plans again and checked into the place on the 16th and cancelled the rest of the reservation. Upon check-in and check-out the next day I asked again about the cancellation policy and on both occasions I was told 24 hours prior to 6pm check-in. Therefore, I was lied to for the sake of a one night stand; very stupid. We made the reservation at this facility because they accept pets. When we checked in we were placed on the top floor; I can’t understand what thinking would put folks on the top floor with a pet. We subsequently found out that the Wi-Fi didn’t work other than in the lobby. Even Motel 6 has Wi-Fi in the rooms!
