Close to many area attractions, great customer service!

The room was dusty. I literally wiped dust off the phone before calling the the phone desk. The most disgusting was the hair found in the shower drain. The staff was not particularly helpful and borderline rude, more like passive aggressive.

As soon as I entered the bathroom this is what I find. Absolutely disgusting! The location is great but the facilities are outdated and not in the best conditions.

The location is really the best part.

I’ve had the pleasure to work with the events department. Salina Lourenco was just the best person to accommodate our needs and demands. Thank you so much for your hospitality. The best experience I’ve had so far.

Rooms need updating half outlets broken 1st room was dirty only to be moved and ridicule by staff pool is closed. Not a very enjoyable stay for money spent.

Awesome view! Great location … central area. The staff is great. The place is clean and safety measures are in place.

Quite a view from the upper floors and the staff is wonderful and professional. Book in advanced because they do fill the building with eager travellers.

Hotel was very nice. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. I was disappointed that there was no airport shuttle because when I booked I called twice and they assured me that there was.

Bartender is really cool. No free breakfast. And no shuttle from or to the airport. Everything was clean and staff was very friendly. Shuttle runs with in 2 mile of the hotel and to the port for cruises.

I've stayed at this hotel on a couple occasions. Each time, the service and attention to detail has been excellent. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Tampa and any place you would want to see. The hotel has a great shuttle that takes you within a 2 mile radius and to the essential spots. Special about this time, however, was my interaction with the front desk manager, Desmond. He was positively delightful, professional and made me feel like a celebrity. He added to the hotel experience and was very accommodating! His service is a great addition to this downtown hotel!

Attended a wedding in late November & stayed overnight. Everything was amazing… from the front desk to the bartenders to the food. Awesome location with the Straz & Riverwalk right there! The view from our room was AMAZING! We will be back.

Barrymore hotel, you should really look into you security and your staff at night! For more than 2 hours there was a strong pageant smell of marijuana to the point multiple people complained. Your staff attempted to help but fell short. Your security even said that the smell was very strong! After multiple calls to the front desk, nothing happened and the smell and sleepless night continued due to the pungent smell that lingard due to people smoking!.

We stayed here for the convenience of being directly across the street from the Straz Center, but were pleasantly surprised by the good food in the restaurant and the friendly staff. We will definitely be booking here again.

Stayed there last night after going to a concert at Amalie. Would highly recommend it if you want to stay in the area after a concert. Front desk ladies were beyond friendly and helpful! Our shuttle driver to the concert was super friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate. My friend said the AC was too noisy for her but I slept right next to it and it did not bother me one bit. We could have waited for shuttle back but decided to Lyft back and it was less than 6$. The bar was open till midnight but didn’t try it. The parking lot was super close and convenient. Will stay here again the next time that I am going to a concert.

We had dinner before the Kyle Cease show. Meatloaf and sweet potato mash was excellent. Atmosphere was good, there was a deep bass sound coming from somewhere that was a little bothersome. Overall a great time.

Overall experience You’re manager informed us that our name is not in the system. She simply told us to call the website that we used to book the hotel. She was not helpful at all, she did not put an effort to tell me what I had to do in order to work out my situation. She then took break before it was confirmed that My pregnant wife and I could sleep there that night. Perhaps she could have been more helpful. This trip was in celebration of our baby moon. Its our first child and I wanted the experience to be special. Instead it took us an hour to get to our room after traveling all day — and the best your staff could do was give me a room with two queen size beds rather than the single king size which I purchased.

This hotel is the perfect balance of location, cost and amenities. You will struggle to find a better rate for a downtown stay. We used their complimentary shuttle service to go to Ybor which was great. Plus Coast bicycle stations are just around the corner making it easy to take a leisurely ride on the always-expanding river walk.

Very nice stay for my dragon boat racing event. Several of my team members stayed here as well. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Water works restaurant food was great and so we're the wait staff. Definitely will stay there again when in Tampa!

Got a great deal on a room for 106 on express deal And then got a free upgrade to a suite room when we got there! We had a great experience and it was conveniently located downtown for all the activities we wanted to do! Would stay again for sure.

My stay at the Barrymore Hotel wasn't that great. However, I booked it cheap last minute for a convention I was in town for and you certainly get what you pay for here. The hotel is quite dated, Lobby area is nice but the rooms look like something from decades ago, old yellow paint, carpets etc. My room itself had numerous issues… right after checking in I came up to the room, used the restroom and the toilet wouldn't flush, sink didn't work. I called the desk and about 10 minutes later it was back to working. If you like to take a hot shower, well get that out of your head quickly. The water coming out of the shower with it adjusted as hot as you can go comes out cool. You have to let the shower run for minutes, at least 5+ for it to even get warm and then another 5 for it to get hot, it's crazy! While still on the shower, my shower door kept sliding open while using it. Next the air conditioner, everytime the compressor turned on for cold air to come out it made such a loud vibrating sound for about 5-10 seconds, was great to be woken up by that through out the night. Also the angle on the AC unit/vents directly hits the bed so you're blasted with cold air all night, so may like that. The mini fridge in my room didn't work. The TV, every channel looked like old basic cable with lines running through the picture. Other than that the staff was pleasant, nice, and friendly. Free shuttle that can get you to a lot of places withing downtown.

The location is very good, close to the city centre. The beds are old and bad to sleep in! Not a good restaurant! The pool unusable. All around almost road! Only to a limited extent recommended.

The service was excellent. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful and kind. The room was clean and comfortable, especially the strong air conditioning. The room had a beautiful view of the river and a few of the nice buildings surrounding it. The area surrounding the hotel was not as exciting as I thought it would be, but the hotel itself was perfect.

My opinion having disappeared, I repost my very bad experience with this hotel, even if the staff was very friendly, I recommend this hotel for several reasons:
— A few days after my departure, by consulting my survey I realized that the hotel was raising money on my credit card without my consent. They used the fingerprint of my blue card to do it.
— Although the sheets are washed every day, I got bitten last night by something: Spider? Or other? No idea but this left me marks on both legs for several days…
— I'm still looking for the hotel's 3 stars.

Stayed a few days with my wife. Location was wonderful by the Riverwalk. Quiet corner of the area. The best of the hotel is Larry! He is one of the drivers of the free shuttle service. Absolutely goes out of his way to make your trip fantastic! Gives personal tours describing areas and history. Something I highly doubt other hotels in the area provide. His recommendations on restaurants were just what we were looking for. If it's your first time staying in Tampa this is the place to stay.

True three star hotel… yellow walls, old carpet, feeling dirty after laying down or getting out of the shower, near the highway. Rates are decent and location is walking distance to downtown Tampa. Parking is adequate, but required additional $10 charge per vehicle. Rooms coated in urine colored paint, which appears to hold the dust and grime of many many guests before. Beds queen size, sheets felt uncleaned. Shower and bathroom sort of gross and in desperate need of overhaul. Room included microwave and small mini fridge, television with cable, small table and chair, and also coffee maker. Hotel was convenient for getting to gasparilla 15K race in late February, but otherwise I would not choose to stay here again.

This is the only place where you can dine before visiting the theater. In the rain.

This establishment is quite dated. The first room we stayed in smelled of cigarette smoke, and the bathroom sink was leaking. They relocated us with no upgrade for the trouble. The main hallway carpet on each floor look like they hadn't been washed in a decade. The television was damaged, the screens resolution was god awful static looking. The snack bar is grossly overpriced, and the on-site restaurant takes about 20 to 30 min to make your order. Both times dinner and breakfast I waited. I was one of two guests waiting… why 30 min I have no idea. The food was meh. I will never stay at this location again.

Great hotel to 'Stay & Cruise' from Tampa. Good hotel and hassle free to get to pier and back. Well worth it but parking is not covered if that matters.

Extra staff, small pool and water…

The hotel in practice is a skyscraper. Parking is free. The location is pretty much in the city centre. The rooms are not really new and the bathroom is a bit small if compared to those found in USA. Recommended for short stays.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Stayed at the Barrymore the night before I was to go on my cruise out of Tampa. I got the Ship and Shore package, which was amazing! I stayed one night and was able to park my car for the entire length of my cruise for no extra charge. The parking lot is gated and you have to have a key to get in, so I felt like my car was safe for those 5 days.

We stayed at this hotel for an It Works conference. ALL staff was knowledgeable, very helpful, and super friendly, across all shifts this weekend. ESPECIALLY the shuttle drivers! Rooms were clean, had everything we needed for a group of 7, including conjoined rooms. DEFINITELY would stay here again!

We had booked the wrong date for our stay finding ourselves not booked in on our first night in Tampa. A lovely lady called Octavia, booked us in the extra night without any fuss and no extra charge. Our stay was fabulous, our room offering much more than we expected, the view over the river a bonus.
All staff were very friendly and approachable, the shuttle much appreciated.
Only disappointment was the hotel breakfast. The breakfast area is stark and not at all inviting. The variety of breakfast available very limited (eating only a plant based diet I paid for very little, and had to ask for it). However the staff were lovely.
Overall our stay at the Barrymore was very enjoyable. Thank you for making our stay more than we expected.

The hotel & staff were excellent, but thoroughly disappointed with the shuttle service. My definition of a shuttle is door to door service. We took shuttle to Amalie Arena & were dropped off at a point where we still had to walk quite a ways to get to entrance. Then, the driver tells us that pick up point after was at Hooters, 2-3 city blocks from arena, not happy!

This hotel went above and beyond, they treated us like family! Our Au Pair was traveling across the country to school and site seeing. She booked an air B&B, but the host did not leave her a key on her first night. So, here she was in a new state, halfway across the country stranded at midnight. She was not old enough to get a hotel so she called us, her host family for help. My husband and I called over 20 hotels, they were either booked due to a Patriots game or would not let me rent a room because our Au Pair was not 21. I finally reached Barrymore Hotel on my list and got ahold of Robin, I had barely gotten through our situation and she said "We have to help you, let me get my manager" Jehanne, the night manager got on the phone and listen to the situation, she informed me that they too were booked but she was going to try everything in her power to help. I want to point out it took over 40 minutes but she found a solution and made it work all the way down to helping us make sure we could get the au pairs to the hotel! Thank you again, ladies, for taking the time to listen, think outside the box and provide a safe place for 2 scared young ladies. Your act of kindness has not gone unnoticed and will forever leave an impression on my family. If we ever travel to Tampa well be staying with you.

Had transportation service and in 4 days, only gave me a single journey. Do not change towels every day and don't make the fourth.

We were fortunate enough to stay at the Barrymore due to Hurricane Irma. Our only request was air conditioning and electricity. We were greeted by a friendly staff, who very accommodating. The Waterworks bar and grill was very good, too. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We were fortunate to have a room that faced the downtown scenery and Strazz center. Great location and really made a terrible circumstance with the hurricane a really pleasant experience. Hurrication is over but we will stay at the Barrymore in the future.

It is a normal hotel. Nothing special. There are many students of the University of Tampa. The hotel give them pissos for use as a dormitory of the university. The water of the shower in the bathroom has something that causes allergic reactions in many people, but they did not want to do anything to help.

Clean and quiet. The hotel parking must be paid.

The location and the property as a whole are not bad. Too bad he didn't have breakfast room. There Was only a kind of restaurant where at breakfast they proposed only savory things, and a small self-service bar where they sold drinks, coffee, sandwiches, some muffins (but type 5 or 6 in all) and other few things.

Absolutely inadequate and rude Staff. Normal Room without infamy and without praise.
