It was ok. The staff wass nice & helpful. The room could hace been cleaner, as an old glove was left under the edge of the bed, but beds seemed clean. They don't have blankets, though & it was January & a cold snap. Also, shower wouldn't stay warm.

This place was a great place because of it's location. It was close to food, shopping and a movie theater. It is a older hotel but the rooms were big and clean. We had a suite. More importantly it's close to the airport less than 15 minutes. We had a very early flight but we could sleep a little longer because of it's location. I will recommend it to my friends and family.

It is decent for a budget hotel. All room access is from outside. Rooms are spacious. The room was clean.

Not only is it a pretty basic motel but the pull out mattress had stains on it. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Was fine at first then started to notice little things like, my 4 year old took off his socks and shoes, " after being in the car all day", and within a few minutes of walking on the carpet his feet were black. Then I went to make coffee in the morning and was greeted by a cockroach. The pool was closed the 2 days we stayed there due to a excuse of "closed due to chemicals". Was one of the reasons we picked the hotel. Location was good, but that was it.

Most staff friendly. 1st night dirty tub. Dusty everything. Found trash including a used toothbrush … went to vaca in St Pete's a few nights. Returned to hojo for 2nd night and third night we had already booked. Room cleaner than before. But pool out of order. Won't accommodate even sitting in the area. You get what u pay for…

We had a very dirty room, the telephone was filthy, the toilet and drain was blocked and the key card was faulty twice. Luckily we are only there for one night. I can not recommend this hotel.

The place is filthy, dirt in the carpets, mold in the bathtub, I had non smoking room at the end of the rooms, next door to me people smoked on the sidewalk so my room filled with smoke, then the neighbors started smoking pot my room reeked all night. Too bad I can't post pictures.

I was attending a social event and it was great. The hotel was clean, staff was super helpful, and facility in nice condition. I would recommend to everyone.

Rooms are good. Beds are a little firm. Someone puked outside my hotel room and the front desk receptionist made too many jokes about stealing my credit card and it made me uneasy.

Great delux room. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend this place.

Rooms were kept in very good conditions. If we needed anything, the employees would not hesitate to accommodate us. Plus they had such great energy, laughed and talk to a few of them. Breakfast was amazing. Better then any motel I've ever stayed with.

If I could give zero stars I would. First I would like to say I'm not a picky person and probably would not be making this complaint if it were not for the horrible customer service I received. We paid more for a hotel room specifically for the "spa" tub. The bath tub was dirty and the jets were all broken and the drain was clogged. (Gross) Second the room was dirty and smelled musty when we arrived even though we were in a non smoking room. Again all things I would have said whatever except that's when I started itching. I was bitten up by bedbugs and mosquitos that were everywhere in my room! I tried to tell the manager and she rudely said how its Florida and we have bugs. No. Lived here my whole life bedbugs are not normal. THEN after speaking in Spanish to her maid for several minutes comes to this false conclusion we smoked pot in the hotel room and she could smell it from around the corner when we had literally not smoked even a cigarette on the property. Funny thing is we saw these same maids smoking what smelled like pot. Suspicious. She then only would give me half of my 100 dollar security deposit. But if we really smoked why even give me back 50? Because she was scared we would call the police right there. That's why because we are young and she didn't think we would follow up. But I did! I called corporate and am waiting for them to reveiw. Minimum I want my 50 dollars that these people STOLE from me. Or I will follow up with other action.

Great location. Decent room. Nice pool. Telephone in room didn't work so no wake up call.

Save your money and go to another hotel Down The street. That's worth the money. The floors are horrible your feet are black just from walking to the bathroom back to bed. Didn't feel very clean. The pool wasn't even open due to "construction". Total bum with kids.

Everyone that put a positive review here is a liar! worst hotel ever! nasty bed sheets, nasty food, and nasty all around! do not stay at this hotel! they also take money without permisson! please do not stay here unless you like seeing prostitutes outside your room and roches in your room!

A little dated, but very clean. I stayed 3 separate nights in 3 different rooms and they were all comfortable and up to my standards. I travel a lot and I always check for bedbugs and cleanliness. This hotel is on point with their cleaning. The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful even though she was alone and very busy. She was nice to everyone and handled herself very professionally.

It was very pleasant. Very clean and nice. However, I left one of my bags in the room and am getting NO WHERE trying to get it back. When I call there I'm told that they will talk to the maid and will call me back. I wait 2 days and call them and they say they will talk to the maid and call me back. Now, it's been two days again and no call to let me know anything. The bag was left there and the cleaning lady has to have it if it was not turned in. I'm not happy with the response I've been given on this. Great stay other than that.

Best Inn we stayed so far. Fast check in and check out, friendly staff and nice and clean rooms. The only down was the shower leaking but I didn't really care about that anyways. We paid a 100$ for one night for one room with two beds which was the cheapest we payed so far in Florida and it's only 20 min from the airport. I'd totally recommend it for a stay of one or two nights!

I was booked here for a week while attending a school on the air force base. The rooms were dated but clean, so that wasn't a big deal. Problem my 0600 showers went from too hot to stand under to very cool constantly. Problem # 2 the second night a group of locals moved in next door (adjoinable rooms) and has a party, loud talking/laughing till up in the morning… oh yeah the dope smoke (non smoking room) seeping through the adjoining door (funny how thugs don't follow rules. I didn't report that night I decided to "pick my battles" as I didn't want the possibility of property destroyed in retaliation while I slept. I was moved to a new room the next morning after reporting this activity to the clerk who was very apologetic and helpful. Problem # 3 In my new room I was without TV for 1 1/2 nights, it was reported the first night but there was no one there to fix it (the clerk that night tried) when I came in the next day it was still out but they did get it fixed by the time I came back from supper. Problem # 4, when checking out the clerk asked, as they always do, if everything was good with my stay, when I told him it was not and what the troubles were there was no offer of anything, a free night, a % off, a cup of coffee, only a "sorry" and an excuse that it was because it was gasparilla… not sure why this would have affected anything because it had been the week before I was there.

Great location; central to many great attractions and restaurants. Room was clean and staff was extremely accomodating. Only complaint is the lack of fans in the restrooms due to a family member's medical condition.

I booked a room on Friday through Expedia. I realized I had the dates wrong. I called back ASHLEY @ Howard Johnson express in Tampa. She told me I could not cancel my reservation. It had been ONLY 10 minutes later. ASHLEY was VERY Rude I'm.

The furniture and fixtures were a little dated but the room was clean and quiet. Best of all was the staff. Everyone was great from the front desk to the breakfast room staff. I will stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay there. Clean facility, has some signs of dating. Some renovations have been done. Convenient location, was there for the women's final four in April. Will hopefully stay there Lord willing in 2018.

It is great I'm living here from a long time. The worker friendly and helpful every 24 Hours. Good for student want stay for a month.

Nice older hotel. Quiet. Stayed in a hot tub suite. Nice. Do not get this one mixed up with the one on NORTH Dale Mabry. The one on North Dale Mabry is near the strip clubs.

Front desk staff was horrible. I was eaten alive by bed bugs and have pictures of the bites to prove it. Called and informed them, they responded "we will have to look into that". And want me to go to the doctor to provide proof. I reserved a non-smoking room and they put me in a room that was IN BETWEEN TWO SMOKING ROOMS! Terrible, just terrible. PS — this is a privately owned location so you can not call corporate to complain.

Hotel staff was friendly, but there were bedbugs in our room. They comped the nights which was the right thing to do, but wouldn't surprise me if bedbugs were a common occurrence at this place.

It is fine and not too expensive. Had good access to main routes as well. But the sink was plunged for our whole stay.

Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Walking distance to a small strip mall. Had a great 1st time stay in Tampa.

Worst place ever! Front desk lady was awful! Big fat blonde lady gave so much attitude! Place is dirty as hell too.

There are bed bugs, ants and flying gnats in my room. Website said there is a stocked kitchenette; there is NOTHING in the kitchenette. I would not stay here.
