Hotel was awesome bar swimming pool & entertainment Staff was awesome very attentive rooms were clean and spacious continental breakfast was good and had a variety of choices.

Good value for money. The rooms are spacious and the staff very friendly. The pool is too small and with very hot water, but has the beach in front. To improve breakfast.

Food was served fast and the waiter was nice. Great location as it's right across from the beach.

This place, though esteemed by many as one of the greatest hotels on South Beach, is absolutely disgusting. Dirty scuffed up floors that I would not dare walk on barefoot, terrible customer service, unsightly lobby decor, filthy carpets, and everything is essentially a desperate attempt to make some sort of money. I mean, $30 to rent a microwave? Shouldn't there already be in the rooms? Not to mention the disgusting shower area, the faulty mini fridge that only cooled in the middle compartment, and the lukewarm breakfast that wouldn't be appealing to a starving dog, let alone a paying guests. Overall, I can only say that I've stayed at Motel 6's with more charm and cleanliness. The only redeeming quality were the bendable bedside lamps, and that's not saying very much. On the vacation scale, I award Breakwater one star, and to never visit again.

I have NOTHING good to say. We didn't havevwash cloths for a day or two. The breakfast was not appetizing at all. The cleaning staff did the best could with what they had to work with. The only saving grace is that it's location is great.

Great hotel! The young staff were so nice and professional! Definitely will be back! The entertainment, food and pool was so awesome!

Excellent location in Miami Beach. Large rooms with coffee and tea service. Comfortable. Attention in Spanish well. The pool is small, glazed. Depending on the location of the room will be somewhat noisy by the movement that is on the street and in the hotel restaurant.

Spent 4 nights at the Breakwater in May 2018 with my wife. First thing that you have to understand about this hotel and ocean drive, its a prime time party location. You are steps away from the beach and all the hip party spots. The clubs play loud music all night til about 4 am. They are so close to the hotel that you feel like the party is in your room. We came to party so we dealt with it. But if you are coming to sleep or get rest do not stay here or anywhere on Ocean drive. The hotel was a pretty nice hotel. Staff was completely helpful in all areas. We were even allowed to check in a few hours early. There is nowhere to park and you will have to pay for the daily valet but it's worth it. The valet staff is always out there and will have your car ready for you when you need it. I even left several expensive items in the car on accident and was happy to find out it was where I left it. Bottom line is this, if you are looking to experience the nightlife and craziness of south beach then this is the place for you. Beach is a few steps across the street. If you want sleep or rest then south beach is not for you. If you want cheap food, South Beach is not for you. Overall it was a good experience and I would book here again.

Free parking nearby DOES not EXIST and the hotel ' valet ' takes $40 a DAY to park it.

The staff is rude. The toilet would not flush. The refrigerator in the room was locked. The desk could or would not help. I brought a 150 dollar crab and lobster meal to the room and could not keep it cool. Was told their was no manager on premises and sorry about your food. It spoiled overnight. Never again.

Central Location in front of the sea, rooms (in the new part) satisfactory, in the old part pessime.

Well, what a pleasant surprise this place was.! NOT! We booked a room through expedia a month ago, paid for it. Then two nights before we were to arrive, we were sent an email that our room was cancelled, because the hotel 'overbooked'. We had to scramble to get another hotel's room, and ended up having to pay a premium for last minute booking. CONSIDER THIS before you book with them. This is just ridiculous. AND we were an 'Ascend Hotel Collection' member. Do you want any last minute changes in plans forced on you?

The Breakwater is a hotel which has now come into the years, which could urgently tolerate a fresh cure.
Those who claim a slightly more upscale interior is definitely wrong here.
The staff is extremely nice and friendly.
For breakfast there is a simple American breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, toast, sausages, potato, pancakes, waffles and jam as well as coffee, tea juices, milk and water.
Dinner we had only away accordingly, I cannot judge the restaurant.
But what is unbeatable is the location!
Directly on Ocean Drive and therefore directly on the beach.
However, you should know this until late at night… or rather, until early in the morning the life rages and it is very noisy.
If you're a party, beach and cool people, you can stay at the vertägt accommodation.

Excellent Hotel, just be careful that you will not be sent to the other module that has nothing to do with the one that gives Öcen Drive.

The hotel is well located in the heart of South Beach Miami, 4 stars but with unprofessional service.

A disaster. I am on my first night. We traveled with children and they tell us that there are no sheets. We have to sleep on the mattress direct. Don't give us a solution. Do not have more. It is a shame. The word is impotence, we never had spent 3 rooms with no bedding, and we have 5 children. Not only I don't recommend it, but I think to perform actions before this lack of respect for the customer.

Stayed one night before a cruise and loved it. Great little bar and restaurant. Quaint little art deco hotel tastefully modernized. Good hot complimentary breakfast. Well definitely stay again next time we cruise from Miami.

Clean and comfortable. Those who like quiet nights are out of place, loud music until early in the morning. Breakfast American, staff friendly.

It's very nice. Very nice people. The rooms are beautiful and big. You can't sleep with noise that doesn't go because it's in an area with lots of fun and night music.

This place is amazing. Unfortunately we were not staying at the hotel but we came in for lunch AMAZING!. We were so impressed that after we drove to Key west we came back for Dinner. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The presentation and flavors of the food are off the chart. We will be booking a vacation in south beach just to stay here.

The location was excellent as the hotel was right next to the beach. However because of the prime location, a lot of outside noise until late at night. Also the A. C. Did not work consistently. There were times where my room got hot. Staff was professional and accommodating. Will return.

Super loud in the rooms! Literally right over a club that parties till 5am. Every. Night. Not the cleanest place either. BUT we loved the rooftop penthouse with the private deck and the free bike rental. Loved the endless supply of free bottled water. Right next to the beach.

Well located, easily accessible by public transport, spacious and comfortable room, beachfront, have bikes to walk in the area… anyway, I would definitely go back.

Most horrendous experience I have had in a bar my entire life. Service was terrible and despite asking for check twice it didn't come so we went up to the till to ask for it. I explained I would leave a 10% tip due to my disappointment with the service the Latino server who appeared to be in charge became aggressive and threatened to call the police as the 20% charge was mandatory even though on the menu it says 'suggested'. I initially refused to pay any tip but the argument upset my wife so I ended up paying. Overpriced, terrible service treating customers as the enemy. Avoid.

Great hotel. Service was perfect. Check in and check out staff was fast friendly and helpful. The bar/ restaurant in the atrium is expensive this is the only negative.

Really nice place. Very clean rooms and well stocked. The pool is nice and clean. They do offer pool and beach towels witch is a nice touch. The food out side is good but not great. The bar is the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. Be careful when at the bar here. They add a 20% service charge to the bill and tell you it's the fee from the hotel and not tip. They say you have to add the tip in. Well this is not true at all, I went over the the hotel and they said the do not charge a fee. They said that is the tip. So basically I double tipped the guy. Not happy. Apparently this is very common in South Beach. Be careful when paying your tab…

Hotel absolutely recommended. You are in the middle of the Ocean Drive party life and with the windows closed you have the peace and quiet to sleep in the great bed.

The fifth star is missing because of breakfast.
If you don't get on sausages there is definitely too little choice.
But the terraced spots on Ocean Drive make up for a lot. Class staff, especially the manager.
Our room was in the annex. Entrance through an ice cream parlour (20% for hotel guests). So many varieties and everything fresh! Fantastic!

Lousy attention. Loud music day and night that did not let sleep and the breakfast very poor just eggs and little sausages no fruit, ham or cheese. The pool is dirty. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Used points to stay. They snuck in a 25.00 per night resort fee not shown on the reservation. Also cost 45.00 per day to valet parking. Also not shown on the reservation. Pretty cool pool and good free breakfast. Very pushy restaurant other times. Would not come back.

Right on the beach, life rages, sees and be seen. The hotel is good. Breakfast that was included you don't have to do yourself. Attention who wants to sleep here can only go to bed when the party is over.

Great location in the central area of Ocean Drive. Our room overlooked an inner cross and was quiet and comfortable. Definitely wide but, furniture and style, did not meet my personal taste. The furniture was dated and the finishes of the bathroom to be revised (the tiles of the shower blackened, floor of the washbasin chipped and arranged with silicone, …). The breakfast was very good The Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately very loud, because music is always played and a lift band plays in the evening. Rooms not very clean. Nice staff. However, very expensive because resort fees apply every day.

I was just 1 week ago in this hotel, and the experience I did not recommend. They charge you $100 per night, calculate the bail for 15 days. This bail is only charged by visa and even 6 days back to Spain I'm waiting for the return of bail. Another drawback is that I reserve room in the same hotel Breakwater (4 *) and pay my room 3 months earlier. When I arrive there I stay at the Hotel Edison (2 *) Q is not the Breakwater. I never notice the change. Small Buffet. Bread for toasting a type of bread and a little variety of jam. There's a scramble of eggs and sausages. Little cereal and little bun. Expensive food, the waiters themselves advise you the most expensive of the hotel to charge commission instead of offering you the best for Q this time and come back. The hotel does not recognize the Edison hotel. Look at Maps.

The rooms were clean and breakfast was okay. However, I did expect more. Some of the furnishings was scuffed up and with the room being majority white it took away from it. The breakfast was continental like one provided by choice hotels. The room was uncomfortably cold and adjusting the thermostat was a hassle. We were placed on the side by the Ice dream shop that was extremely noisy from the bar below that stays open until 5am. Towels had to be requested and then not enough was provided. Lastly, no where was it stated that a chip card was required to make security deposit. I attempted to use the same Visa used at booking. This has the greatest influence on the 3 star rating. Had not my friend been able to cover the charge I would have to have located another hotel for the weekend on the spare of the moment.

I was lured in by the half price dinner and drinks they were having. I am still currently sitting here. Our waitress brought us our drinks, another gentleman brought us our food and we have not seen our server since. My lady friend had to get up and get her own ketchup. 1/2 off cause that's exactly what you get… 1/2 service! Would not recommend for a dining experience.

The location is beautiful! The night life is exciting and fun. It's so convenient that it's right beside the beach and the rooms are comfortable. Pretty good service. Would definitely come again.

Overall a decent hotel for the price and location. The room was very spacious and fairly clean. The staff was nice and courteous. We were told we were getting a courtyard view but really it was a view of air conditioners. Also they had complimentary bikse and towels to loan out. All in all I would stay here again.

Breakwater is located across from South Beach, which is great! It's also right in the middle of the night life, so if that's what you're looking for this is the right place for you. You can definitely hear some of the music/noise from outside in the room. Rooms are spacious but the bed is uncomfortable. It has 2 buildings and the entrance to our room in the 2nd building is through an ice cream shop.

For the first time since we've been here we had the best meal and service our waiter Christian was overly attentive and didn't let the water be empty long. Food was very tasty and good sized portions. The food area was clean and tidy and very inviting. I would recommend this hotel for the food and service and stay. This is my first good review since arriving in south beach Miami.

The hotel is on Ocean Drive. This hotel has a restaurant and a nice pool. It is nice hotel, as long as you understand it may be a little noisy since there are parties all along Ocean Drive not just at the Breakwater Hotel. This is a fun hotel, if you are South Beach to party. I would recommend to others.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was tasty but I wish they had fruit available with breakfast. Love how it's right across from the beach and they have bikes you can use to get around. The only annoying things where trying to find the person in charge of parking the cars, the fact that we had to pay extra to park with the hotel and the people out front that try to get you to buy drinks anytime you walk in or out of the hotel.

Rooms are nice, but definitely wish they had balconies with Ocean View. Staff was definitely courteous and helpful. If you turn in early, loud music from the other bars might keep you up till 5 or 6 in the morning. Over all not a bad place to stay. Restaurant downstairs is good place to eat, get a decent drink and watch the scene. Definitely in the right spot if your into being in the middle of the mix. Not happy about 4 ok clock check in. Other then that the service was good and plenty to do within walking distance.

Didn't stay here, but stopped for a seafood dinner at one of their outdoor. Street-side tables. Everything was great — — cooked just right and very tasty, even the tricky bits like calamari and lobster tail. Cocktails were excellent as well. (TIP: Buy enough food and the second round of drinks are free. ) Between the fine meal and people watching, our party had a ball! Pricey but recommended!

Worste restaurant ever. I asked for a steak that was medium cooked with some sauce on it and I explained to the waitress that idid not want it to have any red spots l. The food arrived really late, every plate have little food on it and was very pricy for such food. When o started cutting upy steak I saw blood dripping and the meat was in no way cooled for more than 30 seconds and so I tell the waitress and he agree with me an said she was goin to put it on the grill for a little bit and when she got it back it was the same thing and had to take it back one more time. When she brought it back he third time it was like rocks and It was so burnt hat my fork and knives couldn't even cut them up and I ended up not eating anything. The waitress was very noce. The price was over a 100 for three little plates of eggs and one had a burnt steak. Worste place I have ever been to by far.

Great location, great service. Celebrated my birthday here. Love the suite. Great Sleep through the night. If you want to be in the heart of South beach. This is the place. Love the pool too.

Location amazing. Positioned in area of clubs, restaurants. There are 2 clubs in hotel with music and dancing. Beach right across the street. Our room was modern and spacious with cozy bedding. Great breakfast included. Home run. Music from club pumping until 3:30 am… not sure if most nights that livey, but something to consider. Location good for fun and dancing… not for a quiet evening.

The Breakwater is just ok. It is NOISY! It's a good party hotel for young people not a 65-year-old woman in town to work! Someone booked me there because of the hotel description which is deceptive. The PH Suite 515 was more like a junior suite, needing repairs. One of the bathroom windows didn't close properly, allowing the night noise to come into the room. The windows are not soundproofed which they need to be. The carpet was very dirty, no robes or slippers orovided. No room service provided, slow free internet. The gate separating the 2 PH suites was broken so that people from the other suite came into my side. The gate at end of roof terrace didn't lock so you MUST keep the door to suite locked at all times. Hotel boasts outdoor shower but it's only for rinsing off in swimwear as it is not private. There's only 1 phone in the suite at the opposite end of the room from the bed, most inconvenient. The Breakwater is a 3 star hotel NOT 4 star! Check out is at 11am, inconvenient (4 star hotels have 12 noon check out). Check in is at 4pm (ridiculous). I was to have early check in but it didn't happen. The front desk took my cell phone number to call when my room was ready. They never called back! At 4pm I called and Wes's told the room would be ready at 4:20pm. I had a meeting at 4:30pm so didn't check in until my meetings were done at 8pm. The cost for the room did not give great value! I WILL NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVER AGAIN!

Love the rooms very clean and have a modern look. Staff was very nice and went out of their way to assist me with any accomodation I requested. All around great experience I will be back again.

Very noisy indeed, both sides as there is the hotel's nightclub on one side and the Clevelander nightclub on the other side (open air nightclubs). Windows are soundproof, AC works well so with earplugs we could sleep well. Very small pool. Clean and spacious room and bathroom.

Perfect Ocean Drive location, right in the heart of the action. Bedroom was large and clean. Free bike rentals available in the lobby, awesome! One thing to watch out for: if you put the "do not disturb" sign on your door and leave after the cleaning staff has already come through, your room will probably not be cleaned that day.

Me and my wife were hungry and we went to the restaurant I Paparazzi associated to this hotel, as the place had a good look from the outside. Once inside, the ripping off begins. $25 for 5 larger-than-usual shrimps that you can dip in a spicy off-the-shelf tomato sauce. $19 x 2 for the most horrible cocktails I have ever had. So when I was preparing to exert my consumer right for a 0% tip, guess what. I got auto charged for 20% service. I asked the waiter if this was optional, she stumbled a bit, then said no, it's fixed. I wasn't in the mood to make a scene, so I just paid a whooping $80 to buy my freedom, get out of there, and go to Johnny Rockets to buy ourselves 2 burgers and 1 small fries for $20. As Will Smith would say: "Welcome to Miami / Bienvenido à Miami".

Worst hotel I have ever visited. Horrendous club music blasts through the paper-thin walls of every room in the hotel until 5am — you will not sleep here one bit (unless you're coming for the crappy DJ's and $20 margaritas in plastic cups, then enjoy! ) Dysfunctional elevators, too. All staff, including manager, were unwilling/unable to do anything that might have allowed us to sleep for our second night. We had to leave, book a room at another hotel, and Breakwater still charged us for our entire stay. Even a throroughly documented dispute through our credit card company couldn't get us reimbursed for our stay at this sh! +hole. This is stricly a nightclub, not a hotel, and you will be sorry if you have any hopes of sleeping at any point during the night. The bad attitude of the manager and rest of staff suggests that you will be screwed over if you experience ANY problems during your visit — — STAY FAR AWAY.

They Are Theives and The Service is Awful! Including the GM! Let me preface this with the fact that I travel over 30 weeks of the year, so I am pretty forgiving when things go wrong, as I've seen it all and I understand how a guest should be treated. I have quite a few issues with Hotel Breakwater. ***They have charged my card without authorization. They have ignored my request to reverse charge or provide itemized receipt. I have called 3 times within the last couple of weeks and NO ONE has returned my phone call. I finally got them to return my emails but they are failing to send me itemized receipts for a charge that they out against my credit card and refuse to reverse the unauthorized charge. The last message I left was with the GM and he still has failed to return my phone call. He did finally email me but hasn't responded to my emails this week. ***The stay was horrible. The maid service was awful. We even left tips in our room for the maid service and they could never get it right. They either didn't clean enough, didn't restock towels, shampoo/conditioner, etc. I had to call down 3 times in an hour to get them to deliver shampoo so we could get ready for dinner. One night they didn't even make the extra roll out bed! they didn't leave sheets/pillows or blankets. I had to call and have someone come down to have the bed made. We paid a ton for our room each night and we should have received top notch service.

It literally sounded like the club was IN my room all night. I have videos if you care to listen of how LOUD the music was inside, with all of the windows and doors completely shut. I could hear every word of the music and beat of the bass, there was no sound isolation at all. The nightclub Ocean's Ten is on the hotel property and doesn't shut down until 2 AM, but well past 2 AM the music kept going and continued playing at 4 AM when we decided to check out and leave for another hotel. The manager was completely unhelpful and lied to Orbitz to ensure they wouldn't process a refund for this nightmare. Bad product + bad service = STAY AWAY.

I stayed at the Breakwater last week and was simply blown away by the experience. I got a room through groupon. Upon checkin in, I was given a complimentary upgrade on the room. The hotel was beautiful and stylish the service was exceptional and friendly. Very comfortable rooms. Centrally located to everything on South Beach. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT! I would def go back again! THANKS AGAIN.
